Price Of Being A Disciple Or Minister
The value of the power of God is worth more than anything in our entire life. The power of God through our testimony all comes down through tremendous suffering. When we actually go through it, we don’t realize how hurtful it is and how dangerous Satan is and how much pressure it is to retain our testimony as a disciple/minister. In suffering comes great power.
2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
When we are going through suffering, we feel like it’s past our limitations. This is because we are in man’s world, in our flesh. But in reality, we are not past our limitations because we’re not in God’s point of view. Here’s the thing, He promised ‘my grace is sufficient for thee. My strength is made perfect in weakness’. Until we go through God’s grace and through the suffering, then we enter God’s world and then the light just clicks like there’s no tomorrow. Then we’d understand it was something that we can bear and also realize how weak we really are.
1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
The more we grow spiritually, we don’t become more judgmental of others, we become more judgmental of ourselves. Of our own:
- mistakes
- weaknesses
- sins or appearance of evil things
Why did God say 1 Corinthians 10:13? It’s because He went through the same thing as well. Jesus Christ was 100% God and 100% human. His fleshly nature can 100% understand what we’re going through.
Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Jesus Christ is the rock, He is the foundation of the church. Because Jesus is the foundation and if Paul clings onto Jesus, the gates of hell cannot prevail against it. We can win any trial and we can conquer everything.
Matthew 16:17-18 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
When we’re going through adversary or temptations, it is important that our faith fails not to go through the adversary then we get power over the adversary.
Luke 22:31-32 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
If we know what to do good and not do it, then it becomes a sin.
This is our window of opportunity for God to show us something that’s more holy, to gain more power, and draw closer to Him.
It’s important to self crucify and do self-reflection. ‘What is it that I could have done or said better?’ The flesh hates this and tries to give a bunch of excuses not to do it but we must have faith to go through it. Always judge ourselves, not others.
