**by the hand** = unto the hand: i.e. under the direction of. Literally "[laying them] upon the hand".

**rejoiced with great joy** = rejoiced exceedingly. Figure of speech *Polyptoton* ( App-6 ), for emphasis.

**David said.** A wonderful ascription of praise follows, tracing all good to Jehovah's sovereign grace.
