When Chronicles was written the others probably had become extinct. Even in [Numbers 26:38](../../../kjv/numbers/26/38) only five are mentioned. in [1 Chronicles 8:1](../../../kjv/1-chronicles/8/1) , [1 Chronicles 8:2](../../../kjv/1-chronicles/8/2) only five are given. **their fathers.** Figure of speech *Ellipsis* ( App-6 ), "their fathers [houses]". **children** = sons. **Hushim, the sons of Aher** = Hushim the son of another, that other being Dan ([Genesis 46:23](../../../kjv/genesis/46/23) ). The name of one of the daughters of Zelophehad ([Numbers 26:33](../../../kjv/numbers/26/33) ). **they:** i.e. the sons of Ephraim. A pre-Exodus raid, presuming perhaps on their descent from Joseph ([Genesis 46:20](../../../kjv/genesis/46/20) ), the governor of Egypt. **he** = Ephraim. Born 1712.
