"Sleep in Jesus" is an expression not found elsewhere. In [1 Thessalonians 4:16](../../../kjv/1-thessalonians/4/16) the "dead in Christ" are spoken of, with which may be compared [1 Corinthians 15:18](../../../kjv/1-corinthians/15/18) . And the proper meaning of *dia* with the Genitive is "through", though it is wrongly translated "in" [Matthew 26:61](../../../kjv/matthew/26/61) .[Mark 14:58](../../../kjv/mark/14/58) . [1 Timothy 2:15](../../../kjv/1-timothy/2/15) .[Hebrews 7:9](../../../kjv/hebrews/7/9) ; [Hebrews 13:22](../../../kjv/hebrews/13/22) , and "among" [2 Timothy 2:2](../../../kjv/2-timothy/2/2) . The context will show that "through" is the meaning, as the Revised Version renders it in margin. "Through" the Lord Jesus Christ we have peace, reconciliation, sonship, the Holy Spirit's gifts, victory, and many other blessings; [Romans 5:1](../../../kjv/romans/5/1) , [Romans 5:10](../../../kjv/romans/5/10) ; [Romans 8:37](../../../kjv/romans/8/37) . [1 Corinthians 15:57](../../../kjv/1-corinthians/15/57) . [2 Corinthians 5:18](../../../kjv/2-corinthians/5/18) . [Ephesians 1:5](../../../kjv/ephesians/1/5) .[Colossians 1:20](../../../kjv/colossians/1/20) . [Titus 3:6](../../../kjv/titus/3/6) . Death is not a blessing, but an enemy.
