**Title.** A Psalm. App-65
of David = by David, or relating to the true David. The sequel to [Psalms 28](../../../kjv/psalms/28) , and the fulfilment of the promise in [Psalms 28:7](../../../kjv/psalms/28/7) . It is "the voice of Jehovah" in response to David's voice in [Psalms 28:6](../../../kjv/psalms/28/6) . It ends in the same manner.
**Give** = Ascribe, or Bring as due.
**the LORD.** Hebrew. *Jehovah.* App-4 . Occurs fourtimes in verses:##[Psalms 1:2](../../../kjv/psalms/1/2) and fourteen times in 3-11. See note on [Psalms 28:1](../../../kjv/psalms/28/1) .
**mighty.** The Targum reads "angels".

**His name** = Himself. See note on [Psalms 20:1](../../../kjv/psalms/20/1) .
**Worship** = Bow down.
**the beauty of holiness** = His glorious Sanctuary. Compare [2 Chronicles 20:21](../../../kjv/2-chronicles/20/21) . 2Ch 96:9 . [Exodus 28:2](../../../kjv/exodus/28/2) .

**voice** = thunder. Figure of speech *Epibole* or *Anaphora.* App-6 . Seven times: verses: [Psalms 29:3](../../../kjv/psalms/29/3) , [Psalms 29:4](../../../kjv/psalms/29/4) , [Psalms 29:4](../../../kjv/psalms/29/4) , [Psalms 3:5](../../../kjv/psalms/3/5) , [Psalms 3:7](../../../kjv/psalms/3/7) , [Psalms 3:8](../../../kjv/psalms/3/8) , Psa 3:9 .
**GOD.** Hebrew El. App-4 . = the mighty Creator, the glorious God.
**many** = mighty.

**powerful** = with power.
**full of** = with.

**Sirion** = Hermon. Compare [Deuteronomy 3:9](../../../kjv/deuteronomy/3/9) .
**unicorn** = the bull-calf of wild oxen. Compare [Psalms 22:21](../../../kjv/psalms/22/21) .[Job 39:9](../../../kjv/job/39/9) .

**divideth the flames:** or, "cleaveth [with] flames of fire": i.e. lightning.

**Kadesh:** i.e. Kadesh-Naphtali, near Lebanon ([Psalms 29:6](../../../kjv/psalms/29/6) ); not Kadeshbarnea.

**to calve.** Through fright.
**discovereth** = strippeth bare; or, layeth open to view.
**temple** = palace: i.e. heaven itself.
**doth every one speak of** = doth every being there ascribe. See [Psalms 29:1](../../../kjv/psalms/29/1) . Compare [Revelation 4:8](../../../kjv/revelation/4/8) .

**sitteth upon the flood.** Corresponding with [Psalms 29:3](../../../kjv/psalms/29/3) = "sat enthroned at the flood", referring to Genesis. Hebrew. *mabbul,* from *yabal,* to flow. Occurs only here and [Genesis 6:17](../../../kjv/genesis/6/17) ; [Genesis 7:6](../../../kjv/genesis/7/6) , [Genesis 7:7](../../../kjv/genesis/7/7) , [Genesis 7:10](../../../kjv/genesis/7/10) , [Genesis 7:17](../../../kjv/genesis/7/17) ; [Genesis 9:11](../../../kjv/genesis/9/11) , [Genesis 9:15](../../../kjv/genesis/9/15) , [Genesis 9:28](../../../kjv/genesis/9/28) ; [Genesis 10:1](../../../kjv/genesis/10/1) , [Genesis 10:32](../../../kjv/genesis/10/32) ; [Genesis 11:10](../../../kjv/genesis/11/10) .
