**faithful** [Genesis 22:1-3](../../../kjv/genesis/22/1-3); [James 2:21-23](../../../kjv/james/2/21-23)
**covenant** *(See Scofield "*[James 2:21-59](../../../kjv/james/2/21-59)*")*

**madest known unto them**
This important passage fixes beyond all cavil the time when the sabbath, God's rest [Genesis 2:1-3](../../../kjv/genesis/2/1-3) was given to man. Cf. [Exodus 20:9-11](../../../kjv/exodus/20/9-11). In [Exodus 31:13-17](../../../kjv/exodus/31/13-17) the sabbath is invested with the character of a sign between Jehovah and Israel. *(See Scofield "*[Exodus 31:13-2](../../../kjv/exodus/31/13-2)*")* .

**seal**
See [Nehemiah 10:1](../../../kjv/nehemiah/10/1).
