Hyper-[dispensationalism](/dispensationalism), particularly Mid-Acts dispensationalism, teaches that the Church, the Body of Christ, began during the middle of the Book of Acts and emphasizes Paul’s epistles as the primary instructions for Christians today. Some forms distinguish between Paul’s ministry and the ministries of the other apostles more sharply than traditional dispensationalism does. From a traditional KJV dispensational perspective, hyper-dispensationalism goes too far in dividing Scripture and limiting the application of passages outside Paul’s epistles. ### What Do Mid-Acts Dispensationalists Believe? Hyper-dispensationalism: - does not believe in water baptism - don’t believe that Christians have to confess their sins - believe in the Pauline epistles ONLY! They cut off everything else (e.g. thou shalt not commit adultery) because they say it is all Jewish. - believe in Mid-acts. They believe that salvation by grace and the body of Christ started in the middle of Acts, not when Jesus died. That’s not true because the thief on the cross was also saved by grace. Imagine having only 13 books of the Bible in your Bible. Doctrinally, Pauline epistles are for the Christian age. However, we can learn spiritual lessons from ALL the books in the Bible. They believe that an individual cannot gain a blessing from the other Bible books. However, 1st [Timothy 3:16](/kjv/1-timothy/3/16) point out that “all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, correction, and instruction in righteousness.” The Mid-Acts rob Christians of the experience, blessings and promises supplied by other Bible verses. > ***[Romans 15:4](/kjv/romans/15/4)** “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”* > ***[1 Timothy 3:16](/kjv/1-timothy/3/16)** – “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”* These two movements (Calvinists and Mid-Acts) are scholastic in mindset, they do not do a lot of soulwinning. IFB on the other hand, have always been very strong in soulwinning. Additionally, a person’s believes and faith is evidenced by their actions. ### Common Terms Associated With Mid-Acts Dispensationalism Dr. Kim provides some ideas to identify Calvinist and the Mid-Acts teachings.
