God comes down through a hurricane to speak to Ezekiel.

Ezekiel 1: 1-4 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God. In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin’s captivity, The word of the Lord came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was there upon him. And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

Hurricane Jehovah is not detained

The people of Israel during this time were in captivity, they were detained and in a lockdown. Hurricane Jehovah is not to be stopped. It cannot be controlled. We cannot predict it. The Holy Spirit goes where it goes. If the Holy Spirit wants us to start new churches, He moves like a hurricane and cannot be stopped.

John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

The Holy Spirit is likened to wind (Acts 2:2-4) and enabled the apostles to speak in multiple languages. We need to not be stubborn, fight our carnality and give God the glory by cleaning up our lives. Do not let our fear, depression, carnality, tiredness and worry hold the Holy Spirit back.

If we take it in a positive light, these buildings of sin seem to grow higher and higher, overshadowing God’s creation and blocking the sun out. The hurricane (Holy Spirit) can destroy these buildings of sins in a person who has cried out to God for salvation.

Hurricane Jehovah is not depleted

Nothing can stop God’s work or deplete the power of God. Souls are still won, tracts are still handed out, churches are still attended, God is still worshipped, King James Bible is still the best selling English Bible version.

2 Corinthians 4:16-17For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

Just because we feel that our flesh is depleted, the Holy Spirit isn’t depleted (the inward man is renewed day by day). We are not dying, the Holy Spirit is filling us everyday.

Ephesians 1: 13-14In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

We all used to be slaves to the Devil, sold to the Demon of education, riches, religion, drugs, worldliness. But when it came to us, we are sold under the blood of Christ.

Hurricane Jehovah is not degraded

All you see is God’s beauty, holiness and pureness in the following verses.

Ezekiel 1: 24-28 And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings. And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings. And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it. And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.

Ephesians 4:21-23If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

When was the last time you felt the Holy Spirit moved like a hurricane in your life? When you got right with God at the altar? When you’ve cleaned up your life and devices? When you were witnessing uncontrollably? If you’re so used to rejecting the Holy Spirit, you no longer feel the joy of doing these things for God.

The Jews in Acts 5:39 and Acts 10:45 kept resisting to the point that the Holy Spirit no longer worked in them. Each time we resist the Holy Spirit, we are asking God to move on to someone else and move powerfully in their lives.

The definition of a hurricane is that it moves, it does not stay at one spot. We cannot dictate where the hurricane goes. We follow where the hurricane (God) leads.
