וַיִּזְבַּ֣ח H2076 And Adonijah אֲדֹֽנִיָּ֗הוּ H138 sheep צֹ֤אן H6629 and oxen וּבָקָר֙ H1241 and fat cattle וּמְרִ֔יא H4806 עִ֚ם H5973 by the stone אֶ֣בֶן H68 of Zoheleth הַזֹּחֶ֔לֶת H2120 אֲשֶׁר me I pray thee give thee counsel אִֽיעָצֵ֥ךְ H3289 נָ֖א H4994 עֵצָ֑ה H6098 that thou mayest save וּמַלְּטִי֙ H4422 אֶת H853 and the life נֶ֥פֶשׁ H5315 וְאֶת H853 and the life נֶ֥פֶשׁ H5315 of thy son unto him Didst not thou my lord אֲדֹנִ֣י H113 O king הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ H4428 swear נִשְׁבַּ֤עְתָּ H7650 unto thine handmaid לַאֲמָֽתְךָ֙ H519 and say לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 Assuredly כִּֽי H3588 Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֤ה H8010 thy son בְנֵךְ֙ H1121 reign מָלַ֥ךְ H4427 after אַֽחֲרַ֔י H310 וְה֖וּא H1931 me and he shall sit יֵשֵׁ֣ב H3427 עַל H5921 upon my throne כִּסְאִ֑י H3678 וּמַדּ֖וּעַ H4069 reign מָלַ֥ךְ H4427 why then doth Adonijah אֲדֹֽנִיָּֽהוּ׃ H138 14 הִנֵּ֗ה H2009 עוֹדָ֛ךְ H5750 Behold while thou yet talkest מְדַבֶּ֥רֶת H1696 שָׁ֖ם H8033 עִם H5973 there with the king הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 וַֽאֲנִי֙ H589 I also will come in אָב֣וֹא H935 after אַֽחֲרַ֔יִךְ H310 thee and confirm וּמִלֵּאתִ֖י H4390 אֶת H853 thy words דְּבָרָֽיִךְ׃ H1697 15 went in וַתָּבֹ֨א H935 בַת H0 And Bathsheba שֶׁ֤בַע H1339 אֶל H413 and the king הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 into the chamber הַחַ֔דְרָה H2315 and the king הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 old זָקֵ֣ן H2204 was very מְאֹ֑ד H3966 and Abishag וַֽאֲבִישַׁג֙ H49 the Shunammite הַשּׁ֣וּנַמִּ֔ית H7767 אַֽחֲרָ֑י H310 וְה֖וּא H1931 me and he shall sit יֵשֵׁ֥ב H3427 עַל H5921 upon my throne כִּסְאִֽי׃ H3678 18 וְעַתָּ֕ה H6258 הִנֵּ֥ה H2009 And now behold Adonijah אֲדֹֽנִיָּ֖ה H138 reigneth מָלָ֑ךְ H4427 וְעַתָּ֛ה H6258 and now my lord אֲדֹנִ֥י H113 the king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 לֹ֥א H3808 thou knowest יָדָֽעְתָּ׃ H3045 19 And he hath slain וַ֠יִּזְבַּח H2076 oxen שׁ֥וֹר H7794 and fat cattle וּֽמְרִיא H4806 and sheep וְצֹאן֮ H6629 in abundance לָרֹב֒ H7230 and hath called קָרָֽא׃ H7121 לְכָל H3605 all the sons בְּנֵ֣י H1121 of the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 and Abiathar וּלְאֶבְיָתָר֙ H54 the priest הַכֹּהֵ֔ן H3548 and Joab וּלְיֹאָ֖ב H3097 the captain שַׂ֣ר H8269 of the host הַצָּבָ֑א H6635 but Solomon וְלִשְׁלֹמֹ֥ה H8010 thy servant עַבְדְּךָ֖ H5650 לֹ֥א H3808 and hath called קָרָֽא׃ H7121 20 וְאַתָּה֙ H859 And thou my lord אֲדֹנִֽי H113 O king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 the eyes עֵינֵ֥י H5869 כָל H3605 of all Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 עָלֶ֑יךָ H5921 are upon thee that thou shouldest tell לְהַגִּ֣יד H5046 לָהֶ֔ם H0 מִ֗י H4310 them who shall sit יֵשֵׁ֛ב H3427 עַל H5921 on the throne כִּסֵּ֥א H3678 And thou my lord אֲדֹנִֽי H113 O king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 after אַֽחֲרָֽיו׃ H310 21 וְהָיָ֕ה H1961 shall sleep כִּשְׁכַ֥ב H7901 Otherwise it shall come to pass when my lord אֲדֹנִֽי H113 the king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 עִם H5973 with his fathers אֲבֹתָ֑יו H1 וְהָיִ֗יתִי H1961 אֲנִ֛י H589 that I and my son וּבְנִ֥י H1121 Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 shall be counted offenders חַטָּאִֽים׃ H2400 22 וְהִנֵּ֛ה H2009 עוֹדֶ֥נָּה H5750 And lo while she yet talked מְדַבֶּ֖רֶת H1696 עִם H5973 with the king הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 Nathan וְנָתָ֥ן H5416 the prophet הַנָּבִ֖יא H5030 also came in בָּֽא׃ H935 23 And they told וַיַּגִּ֤ידוּ H5046 himself before the king לַמֶּ֛לֶךְ H4428 saying לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 הִנֵּ֖ה H2009 Behold Nathan נָתָ֣ן H5416 the prophet הַנָּבִ֑יא H5030 And when he was come in וַיָּבֹא֙ H935 before לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 himself before the king לַמֶּ֛לֶךְ H4428 he bowed וַיִּשְׁתַּ֧חוּ H7812 himself before the king לַמֶּ֛לֶךְ H4428 עַל H5921 with his face אַפָּ֖יו H639 to the ground אָֽרְצָה׃ H776 24 hast thou said אָמַ֔רְתָּ H559 And Nathan נָתָן֒ H5416 My lord אֲדֹנִ֣י H113 O king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 אַתָּ֣ה H859 hast thou said אָמַ֔רְתָּ H559 Adonijah אֲדֹֽנִיָּ֖הוּ H138 shall reign יִמְלֹ֣ךְ H4427 after אַֽחֲרָ֑י H310 וְה֖וּא H1931 me and he shall sit יֵשֵׁ֥ב H3427 עַל H5921 upon my throne כִּסְאִֽי׃ H3678 25 כִּ֣י׀ H3588 For he is gone down יָרַ֣ד H3381 this day הַיּ֗וֹם H3117 and hath slain וַ֠יִּזְבַּח H2076 oxen שׁ֥וֹר H7794 and fat cattle וּֽמְרִיא H4806 and sheep וְצֹאן֮ H6629 in abundance לָרֹב֒ H7230 and hath called וַיִּקְרָא֩ H7121 לְכָל H3605 sons בְּנֵ֨י H1121 all the king's הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 and the captains וּלְשָׂרֵ֤י H8269 of the host הַצָּבָא֙ H6635 and Benaiah וְלִבְנָיָ֧הוּ H1141 the son בֶן H1121 of Jehoiada יְהֽוֹיָדָ֛ע H3077 Solomon וְלִשְׁלֹמֹ֥ה H8010 But me even me thy servant עַבְדְּךָ֖ H5650 לֹ֥א H3808 hath he not called קָרָֽא׃ H7121 27 אִ֗ם H518 מֵאֵת֙ H853 by my lord אֲדֹנִֽי H113 the king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 done נִֽהְיָ֖ה H1961 Is this thing הַדָּבָ֣ר H1697 הַזֶּ֑ה H2088 וְלֹ֤א H3808 and thou hast not shewed הוֹדַ֙עְתָּ֙ H3045 אֶֽת H853 it unto thy servant עַבְדְּיךָ֔ H5650 מִ֗י H4310 who should sit יֵשֵׁ֛ב H3427 עַל H5921 on the throne כִּסֵּ֥א H3678 by my lord אֲדֹנִֽי H113 the king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 after אַֽחֲרָֽיו׃ H310 28 answered וַיַּ֨עַן H6030 Then king הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 David דָּוִד֙ H1732 and said וַיֹּ֔אמֶר H559 Call קִרְאוּ H7121 לִ֖י H0 לְבַת H0 me Bathsheba שָׁ֑בַע H1339 And she came וַתָּבֹא֙ H935 before לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 Then king הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 and stood וַֽתַּעֲמֹ֖ד H5975 before לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 Then king הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 29 sware וַיִּשָּׁבַ֥ע H7650 And the king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 and said וַיֹּאמַ֑ר H559 liveth חַי H2416 As the LORD יְהוָ֕ה H3068 אֲשֶׁר H834 that hath redeemed פָּדָ֥ה H6299 אֶת H853 my soul נַפְשִׁ֖י H5315 מִכָּל H3605 out of all distress צָרָֽה׃ H6869 30 כִּ֡י H3588 כַּֽאֲשֶׁר֩ H3651 in my stead even so will I certainly do אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֖ה H6213 this day הַיּ֥וֹם H3117 הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 31 bowed וַתִּקֹּ֨ד H6915 בַּת H0 Then Bathsheba שֶׁ֤בַע H1339 with her face אַפַּ֙יִם֙ H639 to the earth אֶ֔רֶץ H776 and did reverence וַתִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ H7812 king הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 and said וַתֹּ֕אמֶר H559 live יְחִ֗י H2421 Let my lord אֲדֹנִ֛י H113 king הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 David דָּוִ֖ד H1732 for the prophet הַנָּבִ֔יא H5030 and Benaiah וְלִבְנָיָ֖הוּ H1141 the son בֶּן H1121 of Jehoiada יְהֽוֹיָדָ֑ע H3077 And they came וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ H935 before לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 And king הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 33 also said וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 The king הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ H4428 לָהֶ֗ם H0 unto them Take קְח֤וּ H3947 עִמָּכֶם֙ H5973 אֶת H853 with you the servants עַבְדֵ֣י H5650 of your lord אֲדֹֽנֵיכֶ֔ם H113 to ride וְהִרְכַּבְתֶּם֙ H7392 אֶת H853 and cause Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה H8010 my son בְנִ֔י H1121 עַל H5921 upon mine own mule הַפִּרְדָּ֖ה H6506 אֲשֶׁר H834 לִ֑י H0 and bring him down וְהֽוֹרַדְתֶּ֥ם H3381 אֹת֖וֹ H853 אֶל H413 to Gihon גִּחֽוֹן׃ H1521 34 anoint וּמָשַׁ֣ח H4886 אֹת֣וֹ H853 שָׁ֠ם H8033 And let Zadok צָד֨וֹק H6659 the priest הַכֹּהֵ֜ן H3548 and Nathan וְנָתָ֧ן H5416 the prophet הַנָּבִ֛יא H5030 him there king הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 עַל H5921 over Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 and blow וּתְקַעְתֶּם֙ H8628 ye with the trumpet בַּשּׁוֹפָ֔ר H7782 and say וַֽאֲמַרְתֶּ֕ם H559 God save יְחִ֖י H2421 him there king הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ H4428 Solomon שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ H8010 35 Then ye shall come up וַֽעֲלִיתֶ֣ם H5927 after אַֽחֲרָ֗יו H310 him that he may come וּבָא֙ H935 and sit וְיָשַׁ֣ב H3427 עַל H5921 upon my throne כִּסְאִ֔י H3678 וְה֥וּא H1931 for he shall be king יִמְלֹ֖ךְ H4427 תַּחְתָּ֑י H8478 וְאֹת֤וֹ H854 in my stead and I have appointed צִוִּ֙יתִי֙ H6680 לִֽהְי֣וֹת H1961 him to be ruler נָגִ֔יד H5057 עַל הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 David's דָּוִ֑ד H1732 וַיֹּלִ֥כוּ H1980 אֹת֖וֹ H853 עַל H5921 him to Gihon גִּחֽוֹן׃ H1521 39 took וַיִּקַּח֩ H3947 And Zadok צָד֨וֹק H6659 the priest הַכֹּהֵ֜ן H3548 אֶת H853 an horn קֶ֤רֶן H7161 of oil הַשֶּׁ֙מֶן֙ H8081 מִן H4480 out of the tabernacle הָאֹ֔הֶל H168 and anointed וַיִּמְשַׁ֖ח H4886 אֶת H853 Solomon שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ H8010 And they blew וַֽיִּתְקְעוּ֙ H8628 the trumpet guests הַקְּרֻאִים֙ H7121 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 אִתּ֔וֹ H854 וְהֵ֖ם H1992 it as they had made an end כִּלּ֣וּ H3615 of eating לֶֽאֱכֹ֑ל H398 heard וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע H8085 And when Joab יוֹאָב֙ H3097 אֶת H853 H1870 50 And Adonijah וַאֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ H138 feared יָרֵ֖א H3372 because מִפְּנֵ֣י H6440 of Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה H8010 and arose וַיָּ֣קָם H6965 וַיֵּ֔לֶךְ H1980 and caught hold וַֽיַּחֲזֵ֖ק H2388 on the horns בְּקַרְנ֥וֹת H7161 of the altar הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ H4196 51 And it was told וַיֻּגַּ֤ד H5046 Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 saying לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 הִנֵּה֙ H2009 Behold Adonijah אֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ H138 feareth יָרֵ֖א H3372 אֶת H853 Let king הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 וְ֠הִנֵּה H2009 for lo he hath caught hold אָחַ֞ז H270 on the horns בְּקַרְנ֤וֹת H7161 of the altar הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ H4196 saying לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 swear יִשָּׁבַֽע H7650 לִ֤י H0 unto me to day כַיּוֹם֙ H3117 Let king הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 אִם H518 that he will not slay יָמִ֥ית H4191 אֶת H853 his servant עַבְדּ֖וֹ H5650 with the sword בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ H2719 52 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 אִ֚ם H518 יִֽהְיֶ֣ה H1961 man לְבֶן H1121 If he will shew himself a worthy חַ֔יִל H2428 לֹֽא H3808 of him fall יִפֹּ֥ל H5307 there shall not an hair מִשַּֽׂעֲרָת֖וֹ H8185 to the earth אָ֑רְצָה H776 וְאִם H518 but if wickedness רָעָ֥ה H7451 shall be found תִמָּֽצֵא H4672 ב֖וֹ H0 in him he shall die וָמֵֽת׃ H4191 53 sent וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח H7971 So king לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה H8010 and they brought him down וַיֹּרִדֻ֙הוּ֙ H3381 מֵעַ֣ל H5921 from the altar הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ H4196 And he came וַיָּבֹ֕א
