there came בָּ֧א H935 out of Judah מִֽיהוּדָ֛ה H3063 by the word בִּדְבַ֥ר H1697 of the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 אֶל H413 בֵּֽית H0 unto Bethel אֵ֑ל H1008 and Jeroboam וְיָֽרָבְעָ֛ם H3379 stood עֹמֵ֥ד H5975 עַל H5921 by the altar הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ H4196 to burn incense לְהַקְטִֽיר׃ H6999 2 And he cried וַיִּקְרָ֤א H7121 עַל H5921 O altar מִזְבֵּ֔חַ H4196 in the word בִּדְבַ֣ר H1697 of the LORD יְהוָ֑ה H3068 יָדוֹ֙ H3027 מֵעַ֥ל H5921 against the altar הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ H4196 saying לֵאמֹ֣ר׀ H559 Lay hold תִּפְשֻׂ֑הוּ H8610 against him dried up וַתִּיבַ֤שׁ H3001 his hand יָדוֹ֙ H3027 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 that he put forth שָׁלַ֣ח H7971 עָלָ֔יו H5921 וְלֹ֥א H3808 so that he could יָכֹ֖ל H3201 not pull it in again לַֽהֲשִׁיבָ֥הּ H7725 אֵלָֽיו׃ H413 5 The altar הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ H4196 also was rent נִקְרָ֔ע H7167 poured out וַיִּשָּׁפֵ֥ךְ H8210 and the ashes הַדֶּ֖שֶׁן H1880 מִן H4480 The altar הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ H4196 according to the sign כַּמּוֹפֵ֗ת H4159 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 had given נָתַ֛ן H5414 which the man אִ֥ישׁ H376 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 by the word בִּדְבַ֥ר H1697 of the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 6 answered וַיַּ֨עַן H6030 And the king הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 and said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר׀ H559 אֶל H413 And the man אִישׁ H376 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ H430 Intreat וַיְחַ֤ל H2470 נָ֞א H4994 אֶת H853 now the face פְּנֵ֣י H6440 of the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ H430 and pray וְהִתְפַּלֵּ֣ל H6419 בַּֽעֲדִ֔י H1157 may be restored me again וַתָּ֤שָׁב H7725 for me that my hand יַד H3027 אֵלָ֑י H413 Intreat וַיְחַ֤ל H2470 And the man אִישׁ H376 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ H430 אֶת H853 now the face פְּנֵ֣י H6440 of the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 may be restored me again וַתָּ֤שָׁב H7725 for me that my hand יַד H3027 And the king הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 אֵלָ֔יו H413 וַתְּהִ֖י H1961 and became as it was before כְּבָרִֽאשֹׁנָֽה׃ H7223 7 old זָקֵ֔ן H2205 Now there dwelt יֹשֵׁ֖ב H3427 בְּבֵֽית H0 in Bethel אֵ֗ל H1008 came וַיָּב֣וֹא H935 and his sons בְנ֡וֹ H1121 and told וַֽיְסַפְּר֖וּם H5608 ל֣וֹ H0 אֶת H853 כָּל H3605 him all the unto his sons בָּנָ֔יו H1121 Saddle וַיַּחְבְּשׁוּ H2280 לִ֖י H0 him the ass הַֽחֲמ֔וֹר H2543 Saddle וַיַּחְבְּשׁוּ H2280 ל֣וֹ H0 him the ass הַֽחֲמ֔וֹר H2543 and he rode וַיִּרְכַּ֖ב H7392 עָלָֽיו׃ H5921 14 וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ H1980 after אַֽחֲרֵי֙ H310 the man אִישׁ H376 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֛ים H430 and found וַיִּ֨מְצָאֵ֔הוּ H4672 him sitting יֹשֵׁ֖ב H3427 תַּ֣חַת H8478 under an oak הָֽאֵלָ֑ה H424 And he said וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 אֵלָ֗יו H413 הַֽאַתָּ֧ה H859 the man אִישׁ H376 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֛ים H430 אֲשֶׁר H834 that camest בָּ֥אתָ H935 from Judah מִֽיהוּדָ֖ה H3063 And he said וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 אָֽנִי׃ H589 15 Then he said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 אֵלָ֔יו H413 לֵ֥ךְ H1980 אִתִּ֖י H854 home הַבָּ֑יְתָה H1004 with me and eat וֶֽאֱכֹ֖ל H398 bread לָֽחֶם׃ H3899 16 And he said וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 לֹ֥א H3808 I may אוּכַ֛ל H3201 not return לָשׁ֥וּב H7725 אִתָּ֖ךְ H854 with thee nor go in וְלָב֣וֹא H935 אִתָּ֑ךְ H854 וְלֹא H3808 with thee neither will I eat אֹ֣כַל H398 bread לֶ֗חֶם H3899 וְלֹֽא H3808 nor drink אֶשְׁתֶּ֤ה H8354 אִתְּךָ֙ H854 water מַ֔יִם H4325 with thee in this place בַּמָּק֖וֹם H4725 הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 17 כִּֽי H3588 For it was said בִּדְבַ֣ר H1697 אֵלַי֙ H413 For it was said בִּדְבַ֣ר H1697 of the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 לֹֽא H3808 Thou shalt eat תֹאכַ֣ל H398 no bread לֶ֔חֶם H3899 וְלֹֽא H3808 nor drink תִשְׁתֶּ֥ה H8354 שָׁ֖ם H8033 water מָ֑יִם H4325 לֹֽא H3808 there nor turn again תָשׁ֣וּב H7725 that thou camest הָלַ֥כְתָּ H1980 by the way בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ H1870 אֲשֶׁר H834 that thou camest הָלַ֥כְתָּ H1980 בָּֽהּ׃ H0 18 He said לֵאמֹ֗ר H559 ל֗וֹ H0 גַּם H1571 אֲנִ֣י H589 unto him I am a prophet נָבִיא֮ H5030 כָּמוֹךָ֒ H3644 also as thou art and an angel וּמַלְאָ֡ךְ H4397 spake דִּבֶּ֣ר H1696 אֵלַי֩ H413 unto me by the word בִּדְבַ֨ר H1697 of the LORD יְהוָ֜ה H3068 He said לֵאמֹ֗ר H559 Bring him back הֲשִׁבֵ֤הוּ H7725 אִתְּךָ֙ H854 אֶל H413 with thee into thine house בֵּיתֶ֔ךָ H1004 that he may eat וְיֹ֥אכַל H398 bread לֶ֖חֶם H3899 and drink וְיֵ֣שְׁתְּ H8354 water מָ֑יִם H4325 But he lied כִּחֵ֖שׁ H3584 לֽוֹ׃ H0 19 So he went back וַיָּ֣שָׁב H7725 אִתּ֗וֹ H854 with him and did eat וַיֹּ֥אכַל H398 bread לֶ֛חֶם H3899 in his house בְּבֵית֖וֹ H1004 and drank וַיֵּ֥שְׁתְּ H8354 water מָֽיִם׃ H4325 20 וַיְהִ֕י H1961 הֵ֥ם H1992 And it came to pass as they sat יֹֽשְׁבִ֖ים H3427 אֶל H413 at the table הַשֻּׁלְחָ֑ן H7979 וַֽיְהִי֙ H1961 that the word דְּבַר H1697 of the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 אֶל H413 came unto the prophet הַנָּבִ֖יא H5030 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 that brought him back הֱשִׁיבֽוֹ׃ H7725 21 And he cried וַיִּקְרָ֞א H7121 אֶל H413 unto the man אִ֣ישׁ H376 of God אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃ H430 אֲשֶׁר H834 that came בָּ֤א H935 from Judah מִֽיהוּדָה֙ H3063 Thus saith אָמַ֣ר H559 כֹּ֖ה H3541 Thus saith אָמַ֣ר H559 of the LORD יְהוָ֥ה H3068 Forasmuch as יַ֗עַן H3282 כִּ֤י H3588 thou hast disobeyed מָרִ֙יתָ֙ H4784 the mouth פִּ֣י H6310 of the LORD יְהוָ֥ה H3068 וְלֹ֤א H3808 and hast not kept שָׁמַ֙רְתָּ֙ H8104 אֶת H853 the commandment הַמִּצְוָ֔ה H4687 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 commanded צִוְּךָ֖ H6680 of the LORD יְהוָ֥ה H3068 of God אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃ H430 22 But camest back וַתָּ֗שָׁב H7725 and hast eaten תֹּ֥אכַל H398 bread לֶ֖חֶם H3899 and drink תֵּ֣שְׁתְּ H8354 no water מָ֑יִם H4325 in the place בַּמָּקוֹם֙ H4725 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 of the which the LORD did say דִּבֶּ֣ר H1696 אֵלֶ֔יךָ H413 אַל H408 and hast eaten תֹּ֥אכַל H398 bread לֶ֖חֶם H3899 וְאַל H408 and drink תֵּ֣שְׁתְּ H8354 no water מָ֑יִם H4325 לֹֽא H3808 shall not come תָב֥וֹא H935 thy carcase נִבְלָֽתְךָ֖ H5038 אֶל H413 unto the sepulchre קֶ֥בֶר H6913 of thy fathers אֲבֹתֶֽיךָ׃ H1 23 וַיְהִ֗י H1961 And it came to pass after וְאַֽחֲרֵ֣י H310 he had eaten אָכְל֥וֹ H398 bread לֶ֖חֶם H3899 And it came to pass after וְאַֽחֲרֵ֣י H310 he had drunk שְׁתוֹת֑וֹ H8354 that he saddled וַיַּֽחֲבָשׁ H2280 ל֣וֹ H0 for him the ass הַֽחֲמ֔וֹר H2543 to wit for the prophet לַנָּבִ֖יא H5030 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 whom he had brought back הֱשִׁיבֽוֹ׃ H7725 24 וַיֵּ֕לֶךְ H1980 met וַיִּמְצָאֵ֧הוּ H4672 a lion וְהָ֣אַרְיֵ֔ה H738 him by the way בַּדֶּ֔רֶךְ H1870 and slew וַיְמִיתֵ֑הוּ H4191 וַתְּהִ֤י H1961 by the carcase הַנְּבֵלָֽה׃ H5038 was cast מֻשְׁלֶ֣כֶת H7993 him by the way בַּדֶּ֔רֶךְ H1870 and the ass וְהַֽחֲמוֹר֙ H2543 also stood עֹמֵ֖ד H5975 by אֵ֥צֶל H681 a lion וְהָ֣אַרְיֵ֔ה H738 also stood עֹמֵ֖ד H5975 by אֵ֥צֶל H681 by the carcase הַנְּבֵלָֽה׃ H5038 25 וְהִנֵּ֧ה H2009 אֲנָשִׁ֣ים H376 passed by עֹֽבְרִ֗ים H5674 and saw וַיִּרְא֤וּ H7200 אֶת H853 the carcase הַנְּבֵלָ֑ה H5038 cast מֻשְׁלֶ֣כֶת H7993 in the way בַּדֶּ֔רֶךְ H1870 וְאֶת H853 and the lion הָ֣אַרְיֵ֔ה H738 standing עֹמֵ֖ד H5975 by אֵ֣צֶל H681 the carcase הַנְּבֵלָ֑ה H5038 and they came וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ H935 and told וַיְדַבְּר֣וּ H1696 it in the city בָעִ֔יר H5892 אֲשֶׁ֛ר H834 prophet הַנָּבִ֥יא H5030 where the old הַזָּקֵ֖ן H2205 dwelt יֹשֵׁ֥ב H3427 בָּֽהּ׃ H0 26 heard וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע H8085 And when the prophet הַנָּבִיא֮ H5030 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 that brought him back הֱשִׁיב֣וֹ H7725 מִן H4480 from the way הַדֶּרֶךְ֒ H1870 thereof he said וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 It is the man אִ֣ישׁ H376 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֣ים H430 ה֔וּא H1931 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 who was disobedient מָרָ֖ה H4784 אֶת H853 unto the word פִּ֣י H6310 of the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 hath delivered וַיִּתְּנֵ֨הוּ H5414 of the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 him unto the lion לָֽאַרְיֵ֗ה H738 which hath torn וַֽיִּשְׁבְּרֵ֙הוּ֙ H7665 him and slain וַיְמִתֵ֔הוּ H4191 him according to the word כִּדְבַ֥ר H1697 of the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which he spake דִּבֶּר H1696 לֽוֹ׃ H0 27 And he spake וַיְדַבֵּ֤ר H1696 אֶל H413 to his sons בָּנָיו֙ H1121 saying לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 And they saddled וַֽיַּחֲבֹֽשׁוּ׃ H2280 לִ֖י H0 אֶֽת H853 me the ass הַחֲמ֑וֹר H2543 And they saddled וַֽיַּחֲבֹֽשׁוּ׃ H2280 28 וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ H1980 and found וַיִּמְצָ֤א H4672 אֶת H853 his carcase הַנְּבֵלָ֔ה H5038 cast מֻשְׁלֶ֣כֶת H7993 in the way בַּדֶּ֔רֶךְ H1870 and the ass הַחֲמֽוֹר׃ H2543 and the lion הָֽאַרְיֵה֙ H738 standing עֹֽמְדִ֖ים H5975 by אֵ֣צֶל H681 his carcase הַנְּבֵלָ֔ה H5038 לֹֽא H3808 had not eaten אָכַ֤ל H398 and the lion הָֽאַרְיֵה֙ H738 אֶת H853 his carcase הַנְּבֵלָ֔ה H5038 וְלֹ֥א H3808 nor torn שָׁבַ֖ר H7665 אֶֽת H853 and the ass הַחֲמֽוֹר׃ H2543 29 took up וַיִּשָּׂ֨א H5375 And the prophet הַנָּבִ֣יא H5030 אֶת H853 the carcase נִבְלַ֧ת H5038 of the man אִישׁ H376 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֛ים H430 and laid וַיַּנִּחֵ֥הוּ H3240 אֶֽל H413 it upon the ass הַחֲמ֖וֹר H2543 and brought it back וַיְשִׁיבֵ֑הוּ H7725 came וַיָּבֹ֗א H935 אֶל H413 to the city עִיר֙ H5892 And the prophet הַנָּבִ֣יא H5030 and the old הַזָּקֵ֔ן H2205 to mourn לִסְפֹּ֖ד H5594 and to bury וּלְקָבְרֽוֹ׃ H6912 30 And he laid וַיַּנַּ֥ח H3240 אֶת H853 his carcase נִבְלָת֖וֹ H5038 in his own grave בְּקִבְר֑וֹ H6913 and they mourned וַיִּסְפְּד֥וּ H5594 עָלָ֖יו H5921 over him saying Alas ה֥וֹי H1945 my brother אָחִֽי׃ H251 31 וַיְהִי֮ H1961 And it came to pass after אַֽחֲרֵ֣י H310 he had buried קָב֣וּר H6912 אֹתוֹ֒ H853 him that he spake לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 אֶל H413 to his sons בָּנָיו֙ H1121 him that he spake לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 When I am dead בְּמוֹתִי֙ H4191 he had buried קָב֣וּר H6912 אֹתִ֔י H853 me in the sepulchre בַּקֶּ֕בֶר H6913 אֲשֶׁ֛ר H834 wherein the man אִ֥ישׁ H376 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 he had buried קָב֣וּר H6912 בּ֑וֹ H0 beside אֵ֚צֶל H681 his bones עַצְמֹתָֽי׃ H6106 lay הַנִּ֖יחוּ H3240 אֶת H853 his bones עַצְמֹתָֽי׃ H6106 32 כִּי֩ H3588 הָיֹ֨ה H1961 יִֽהְיֶ֜ה H1961 For the saying בִּדְבַ֣ר H1697
