whom I stand עָמַ֖דְתִּי H5975 before לְפָנָ֑יו H6440 כִּ֥י H3588 myself unto him to day הַיּ֖וֹם H3117 I will surely shew אֵֽרָאֶ֥ה H7200 אֵלָֽיו׃ H413 16 וַיֵּ֧לֶךְ H1980 So Obadiah עֹֽבַדְיָ֛הוּ H518 אַתָּ֖ה H859 house וּבֵ֣ית H1004 but thou and thy father's אָבִ֑יךָ H1 in that ye have forsaken בַּֽעֲזָבְכֶם֙ H5800 אֶת H853 the commandments מִצְוֹ֣ת H4687 of the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 וַתֵּ֖לֶךְ H1980 אַֽחֲרֵ֥י H310 Baalim הַבְּעָלִֽים׃ H1168 19 וְעַתָּ֗ה H6258 Now therefore send שְׁלַ֨ח H7971 and gather קְבֹ֥ץ H6908 אֵלַ֛י H413 אֶת H853 כָּל H3605 to me all Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 אֶל H413 unto mount הַ֣ר H2022 Carmel הַכַּרְמֶ֑ל H3760 וְאֶת H853 and the prophets וּנְבִיאֵ֤י H5030 of Baal הַבַּ֜עַל H1168 four אַרְבַּ֣ע H702 hundred מֵא֔וֹת H3967 and fifty וַֽחֲמִשִּׁ֗ים H2572 and the H7971 So Ahab אַחְאָ֖ב H256 בְּכָל H3605 unto all the children בְּנֵ֣י H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 and gathered וַיִּקְבֹּ֥ץ H6908 אֶת H853 the prophets הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים H5030 אֶל H413 unto mount הַ֥ר H2022 Carmel הַכַּרְמֶֽל׃ H3760 21 came וַיִּגַּ֨שׁ H5066 And Elijah אֵֽלִיָּ֜הוּ H452 אֶל H413 כָּל H3605 him And the people הָעָ֛ם H5971 and said וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 עַד H5704 מָתַ֞י H4970 אַתֶּ֣ם H859 halt פֹּֽסְחִים֮ H6452 How long עַל H5921 ye between two שְׁתֵּ֣י H8147 opinions הַסְּעִפִּים֒ H5587 אִם H518 if the LORD יְהוָ֤ה H3068 be God הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ H430 לְכ֣וּ H1980 אַֽחֲרָ֔יו H310 וְאִם H518 follow him but if Baal הַבַּ֖עַל H1168 לְכ֣וּ H1980 אַֽחֲרָ֑יו H310 וְלֹֽא H3808 answered עָנ֥וּ H6030 him And the people הָעָ֛ם H5971 אֹת֖וֹ H853 him not a word דָּבָֽר׃ H1697 22 Then said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 Elijah אֵֽלִיָּ֙הוּ֙ H452 אֶל H413 unto the people הָעָ֔ם H5971 אֲנִ֞י H589 I even I only remain נוֹתַ֧רְתִּי H3498 a prophet וּנְבִיאֵ֣י H5030 of the LORD לַֽיהוָ֖ה H3068 לְבַדִּ֑י H905 a prophet וּנְבִיאֵ֣י H5030 but Baal's הַבַּ֔עַל H1168 are four אַרְבַּע H702 hundred מֵא֥וֹת H3967 and fifty וַֽחֲמִשִּׁ֖ים H2572 men אִֽישׁ׃ H376 23 Let them therefore give וְנָֽתַתִּי֙ H5414 לָ֜נוּ H0 us two שְׁנַ֣יִם H8147 bullock הַפָּ֣ר H6499 and let them choose וְיִבְחֲר֣וּ H977 לָהֶם֩ H1992 bullock הַפָּ֣ר H6499 one הָֽאֶחָ֗ד H259 for themselves and cut it in pieces וִֽינַתְּחֻ֗הוּ H5408 and lay אָשִֽׂים׃ H7760 עַל H5921 it on wood הָ֣עֵצִ֔ים H6086 no fire וְאֵ֖שׁ H784 לֹ֣א H3808 and lay אָשִֽׂים׃ H7760 וַֽאֲנִ֞י H589 under and I will dress אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֣ה׀ H6213 אֶת H853 bullock הַפָּ֣ר H6499 one הָֽאֶחָ֗ד H259 Let them therefore give וְנָֽתַתִּי֙ H5414 עַל H5921 it on wood הָ֣עֵצִ֔ים H6086 no fire וְאֵ֖שׁ H784 לֹ֥א H3808 and lay אָשִֽׂים׃ H7760 24 And call אֶקְרָ֣א H7121 on the ~ בְשֵׁם H8034 and the God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים H430 וַֽאֲנִי֙ H589 And call אֶקְרָ֣א H7121 on the ~ בְשֵׁם H8034 of the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 וְהָיָ֧ה H1961 and the God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים H430 אֲשֶׁר H834 answered וַיַּ֧עַן H6030 by fire בָאֵ֖שׁ H784 ה֣וּא H1931 and the God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים H430 answered וַיַּ֧עַן H6030 כָּל H3605 And all the people הָעָ֛ם H5971 and said וַיֹּֽאמְר֖וּ H559 It is well ט֥וֹב you one הָֽאֶחָד֙ H259 for yourselves and dress וַֽעֲשׂ֣וּ H6213 it first רִֽאשֹׁנָ֔ה H7223 כִּ֥י H3588 אַתֶּ֖ם H859 for ye are many הָֽרַבִּ֑ים H7227 and call וְקִרְאוּ֙ H7121 on the ~ בְּשֵׁ֣ם H8034 of your gods אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם H430 no fire וְאֵ֖שׁ H784 לֹ֥א H3808 but put תָשִֽׂימוּ׃ H7760 26 And they took וַ֠יִּקְחוּ H3947 אֶת H853 the bullock הַפָּ֨ר H6499 אֲשֶׁר H834 which was given נָתַ֣ן H5414 לָהֶם֮ H0 them and they dressed עָשָֽׂה׃ H6213 it and called וַיִּקְרְא֣וּ H7121 on the ~ בְשֵׁם H8034 O Baal הַבַּ֣עַל H1168 from morning מֵֽהַבֹּ֨קֶר H1242 וְעַד H5704 even until noon הַצָּֽהֳרַ֤יִם H6672 saying לֵאמֹר֙ H559 O Baal הַבַּ֣עַל H1168 hear עֹנֶ֑ה H6030 us But there was no וְאֵ֣ין H369 voice ק֖וֹל H6963 us But there was no וְאֵ֣ין H369 hear עֹנֶ֑ה H6030 And they leaped וַֽיְפַסְּח֔וּ H6452 עַל H5921 upon the altar הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ H4196 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 them and they dressed עָשָֽׂה׃ H6213 27 וַיְהִ֨י H1961 And it came to pass at noon בַֽצָּהֳרַ֜יִם H6672 mocked וַיְהַתֵּ֧ל H2048 בָּהֶ֣ם H0 that Elijah אֵֽלִיָּ֗הוּ H452 them and said וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 Cry קִרְא֤וּ H7121 בְקוֹל H6963 aloud גָּדוֹל֙ H1419 כִּֽי H3588 for he is a god אֱלֹהִ֣ים H430 ה֔וּא H1931 כִּ֣י H3588 either he is talking שִׂ֧יחַ H7879 וְכִי H3588 or he is pursuing שִׂ֛יג H7873 ל֖וֹ H0 וְכִי H3588 or he is in a journey דֶ֣רֶךְ H1870 ל֑וֹ H0 or peradventure אוּלַ֛י H194 he sleepeth יָשֵׁ֥ן H3463 ה֖וּא H1931 and must be awaked וְיִקָֽץ׃ H3364 28 And they cried וַֽיִּקְרְאוּ֙ H7121 aloud בְּק֣וֹל H6963 גָּד֔וֹל H1419 and cut וַיִּתְגֹּֽדְדוּ֙ H1413 themselves after their manner כְּמִשְׁפָּטָ֔ם H4941 with stones אֲבָנִ֔ים H68 according to the number כְּמִסְפַּ֖ר H4557 of the tribes שִׁבְטֵ֣י H7626 of the sons בְנֵֽי H1121 of Jacob יַעֲקֹ֑ב H3290 אֲשֶׁר֩ H834 הָיָ֨ה H1961 unto whom the word דְבַר H1697 of the LORD יְהוָ֤ה H3068 אֵלָיו֙ H413 came saying לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 יִֽהְיֶ֥ה H1961 shall be thy ~ שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ H8034 32 he built וַיִּבְנֶ֧ה H1129 אֶת H854 And with the stones הָֽאֲבָנִ֛ים H68 an altar לַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ H4196 in the ~ בְּשֵׁ֣ם H8034 of the LORD יְהוָ֑ה H3068 and he made וַיַּ֣עַשׂ H6213 a trench תְּעָלָ֗ה H8585 as great as would contain כְּבֵית֙ H1004 two measures סָאתַ֣יִם H5429 of seed זֶ֔רַע H2233 about סָבִ֖יב H5439 an altar לַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ H4196 33 And he put וַֽיַּעֲרֹ֖ךְ H6186 אֶת H853 and on the wood הָֽעֵצִ֑ים H6086 and cut וַיְנַתַּח֙ H5408 אֶת H853 the bullock הַפָּ֔ר H6499 in pieces and laid וַיָּ֖שֶׂם H7760 עַל H5921 and on the wood הָֽעֵצִ֑ים H6086 and said וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 Fill מִלְא֨וּ H4390 four אַרְבָּעָ֤ה H702 barrels כַדִּים֙ H3537 with water מַ֔יִם H4325 and pour וְיִֽצְק֥וּ H3332 עַל H5921 it on the burnt sacrifice הָֽעֹלָ֖ה H5930 וְעַל H5921 and on the wood הָֽעֵצִ֑ים H6086 34 And he said וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 And they did it
