and thirty שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים H7970 and three וְשָׁלֹ֖שׁ H7969 years שָׁנִֽים׃ H8141 12 Solomon וּשְׁלֹמֹ֕ה H8010 Then sat יָשַׁ֕ב H3427 עַל H5921 upon the throne כִּסֵּ֖א H3678 of David דָּוִ֣ד H1732 his father אָבִ֑יו H1 was established וַתִּכֹּ֥ן H3559 and his kingdom מַלְכֻת֖וֹ H4438 greatly מְאֹֽד׃ H3966 13 Comest בֹּאֶ֑ךָ H935 And Adonijah אֲדֹֽנִיָּ֣הוּ H138 the son בֶן H1121 of Haggith חַגִּ֗ית H2294 אֶל H413 בַּת H0 to Bathsheba שֶׁ֙בַע֙ H1339 the mother אֵם H517 of Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 And he said וַיֹּ֖אמֶר H559 Peaceably שָׁלֽוֹם׃ H7965 Comest בֹּאֶ֑ךָ H935 And he said וַיֹּ֖אמֶר H559 Peaceably שָׁלֽוֹם׃ H7965 14 He said וַתֹּ֖אמֶר H559 moreover I have somewhat to say דָּבָ֥ר H1697 לִ֖י H0 אֵלָ֑יִךְ H413 He said וַתֹּ֖אמֶר H559 Say on דַּבֵּֽר׃ H1696 15 And he said וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 אַ֤תְּ H859 Thou knowest יָדַ֙עַתְּ֙ H3045 כִּי H3588 לִי֙ H0 הָֽיְתָ֣ה H1961 howbeit the kingdom הַמְּלוּכָה֙ H4410 וְעָלַ֞י H5921 set שָׂ֧מוּ H7760 כָֽל H3605 was mine and that all Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל H3478 their faces פְּנֵיהֶ֖ם H6440 on me that I should reign לִמְלֹ֑ךְ H4427 is turned about וַתִּסֹּ֤ב H5437 howbeit the kingdom הַמְּלוּכָה֙ H4410 וַתְּהִ֣י H1961 and is become my brother's לְאָחִ֔י H251 כִּ֥י H3588 for it was his from the LORD מֵֽיְהוָ֖ה H3068 הָ֥יְתָה H1961 לּֽוֹ׃ H0 16 וְעַתָּ֗ה H6258 petition שְׁאֵלָ֤ה H7596 one אַחַת֙ H259 אָֽנֹכִי֙ H595 And now I ask שֹׁאֵ֣ל H7592 מֵֽאִתָּ֔ךְ H853 אַל H408 of thee deny תָּשִׁ֖בִי H7725 אֶת H853 me פָּנָ֑י H6440 not And she said וַתֹּ֥אמֶר H559 אֵלָ֖יו H413 unto him Say on דַּבֵּֽר׃ H1696 17 And he said אִמְרִי H559 And he said אִמְרִי H559 נָא֙ H4994 I pray thee unto Solomon לִשְׁלֹמֹ֣ה H8010 the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 כִּ֥י H3588 לֹֽא H3808 for he will not say יָשִׁ֖יב H7725 אֶת H853 thee פָּנָ֑יִךְ H6440 that he give וְיִתֶּן H5414 לִ֛י H0 אֶת H853 me Abishag אֲבִישַׁ֥ג H49 the Shunammite הַשּֽׁוּנַמִּ֖ית H7767 to wife לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ H802 18 said וַתֹּ֥אמֶר H559 בַּת H0 And Bathsheba שֶׁ֖בַע H1339 Well ט֑וֹב H2896 אָֽנֹכִ֕י H595 I will speak אֲדַבֵּ֥ר H1696 עָלֶ֖יךָ H5921 אֶל H413 for thee unto the king הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 19 therefore went וַתָּבֹ֤א H935 בַת H0 Bathsheba שֶׁ֙בַע֙ H1339 אֶל H413 And the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 to speak לְדַבֶּר H1696 ל֖וֹ H0 עַל H5921 unto him for Adonijah אֲדֹֽנִיָּ֑הוּ H138 rose up וַיָּקָם֩ H6965 And the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 to meet לִקְרָאתָ֜הּ H7125 her and bowed וַיִּשְׁתַּ֣חוּ H7812 לָ֗הּ H0 and she sat וַתֵּ֖שֶׁב H3427 עַל H5921 and caused a seat כִּסֵּא֙ H3678 to be set וַיָּ֤שֶׂם H7760 and caused a seat כִּסֵּא֙ H3678 mother לְאֵ֣ם H517 And the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 and she sat וַתֵּ֖שֶׁב H3427 on his right hand לִֽימִינֽוֹ׃ H3225 20 Then she said וַיֹּֽאמֶר H559 petition שְׁאֵלָ֨ה H7596 one אַחַ֤ת H259 small קְטַנָּה֙ H6996 אָֽנֹכִי֙ H595 I desire שַֽׁאֲלִ֣י H7592 מֵֽאִתָּ֔ךְ H853 אַל H408 for I will not say אָשִׁ֖יב H7725 אֶת H853 me פָּנָֽיִךְ׃ H6440 Then she said וַיֹּֽאמֶר H559 לָ֤הּ H0 And the king הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 I desire שַֽׁאֲלִ֣י H7592 my mother אִמִּ֔י H517 כִּ֥י H3588 לֹֽא H3808 for I will not say אָשִׁ֖יב H7725 אֶת H853 me פָּנָֽיִךְ׃ H6440 21 And she said וַתֹּ֕אמֶר H559 be given יֻתַּ֖ן H5414 אֶת H853 Let Abishag אֲבִישַׁ֣ג H49 the Shunammite הַשֻּֽׁנַמִּ֑ית H7767 to Adonijah לַאֲדֹֽנִיָּ֥הוּ H138 thy brother אָחִ֖יךָ H251 to wife לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ H802 22 answered וַיַּעַן֩ H6030 And king הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ H4428 Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה H8010 and said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 unto his mother לְאִמּ֗וֹ H517 וְלָמָה֩ H4100 אַ֨תְּ H859 And why dost thou ask וְשַֽׁאֲלִי H7592 אֶת H853 Abishag אֲבִישַׁ֤ג H49 the Shunammite הַשֻּֽׁנַמִּית֙ H7767 for Adonijah לַאֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ H138 And why dost thou ask וְשַֽׁאֲלִי H7592 לוֹ֙ H0 אֶת H853 for him the kingdom הַמְּלוּכָ֔ה H4410 כִּ֛י H3588 ה֥וּא H1931 brother אָחִ֖י H251 also for he is mine elder הַגָּד֣וֹל H1419 מִמֶּ֑נִּי H4480 וְלוֹ֙ H0 even for him and for Abiathar וּלְאֶבְיָתָ֣ר H54 the priest הַכֹּהֵ֔ן H3548 and for Joab וּלְיוֹאָ֖ב H3097 the son בֶּן H1121 of Zeruiah צְרוּיָֽה׃ H6870 23 sware וַיִּשָּׁבַע֙ H7650 Then king הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 by the LORD בַּֽיהוָ֖ה H3068 saying לֵאמֹ֑ר H559 כֹּ֣ה H3541 do יַֽעֲשֶׂה H6213 לִּ֤י H0 God אֱלֹהִים֙ H430 וְכֹ֣ה H3541 so to me and more also יוֹסִ֔יף H3254 כִּ֣י H3588 against his own life בְנַפְשׁ֔וֹ H5315 have not spoken דִּבֶּר֙ H1696 if Adonijah אֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ H138 אֶת H853 this word הַדָּבָ֖ר H1697 הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 24 וְעַתָּ֗ה H6258 liveth חַי H2416 Now therefore as the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which hath established הֱכִינַ֗נִי H3559 me and set וַיּֽוֹשִׁיבַ֙ינִי֙ H3427 עַל H5921 me on the throne כִּסֵּא֙ H3678 of David דָּוִ֣ד H1732 my father אָבִ֔י H1 וַֽאֲשֶׁ֧ר H834 and who hath made עָֽשָׂה H6213 לִ֛י H0 me an house בַּ֖יִת H1004 כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 as he promised דִּבֵּ֑ר H1696 כִּ֣י H3588 this day הַיּ֔וֹם H3117 shall be put to death יוּמַ֖ת H4191 Adonijah אֲדֹֽנִיָּֽהוּ׃ H138 25 sent וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ H7971 And king הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה H8010 by the hand בְּיַ֖ד H3027 of Benaiah בְּנָיָ֣הוּ H1141 the son בֶן H1121 of Jehoiada יְהֽוֹיָדָ֑ע H3077 and he fell וַיִּפְגַּע H6293 בּ֖וֹ H0 upon him that he died וַיָּמֹֽת׃ H4191 26 And unto Abiathar וּלְאֶבְיָתָ֨ר H54 the priest הַכֹּהֵ֜ן H3548 said אָמַ֣ר H559 the king הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ H4428 thee to Anathoth עֲנָתֹת֙ H6068 לֵ֣ךְ H1980 עַל H5921 unto thine own fields שָׂדֶ֔יךָ H7704 כִּ֛י H3588 for thou art worthy אִ֥ישׁ H376 of death מָ֖וֶת H4194 אָ֑תָּה H859 but I will not at this time וּבַיּ֨וֹם H3117 הַזֶּ֜ה H2088 לֹ֣א H3808 put thee to death אֲמִיתֶ֗ךָ H4191 כִּֽי H3588 because thou barest נָשָׂ֜אתָ H5375 אֶת H853 the ark אֲר֨וֹן H727 of the Lord אֲדֹנָ֤י H136 GOD יְהוִֹה֙ H3069 before לִפְנֵי֙ H6440 David דָּוִ֣ד H1732 in all wherein my father אָבִֽי׃ H1 וְכִ֣י H3588 and because thou hast been afflicted הִתְעַנָּ֖ה H6031 בְּכֹ֥ל H3605 אֲשֶֽׁר H834 and because thou hast been afflicted הִתְעַנָּ֖ה H6031 in all wherein my father אָבִֽי׃ H1 27 thrust out וַיְגָ֤רֶשׁ H1644 So Solomon שְׁלֹמֹה֙ H8010 אֶת H853 Abiathar אֶבְיָתָ֔ר H54 מִֽהְי֥וֹת H1961 from being priest כֹּהֵ֖ן H3548 of the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 that he might fulfil לְמַלֵּא֙ H4390 אֶת H853 the word דְּבַ֣ר H1697 of the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which he spake דִּבֶּ֛ר H1696 עַל H5921 concerning the house בֵּ֥ית H1004 of Eli עֵלִ֖י H5941 in Shiloh בְּשִׁלֹֽה׃ H7887 28 Then tidings וְהַשְּׁמֻעָה֙ H8052 came בָּ֣אָה H935 עַד H5704 And Joab יוֹאָב֙ H3097 כִּ֣י H3588 And Joab יוֹאָב֙ H3097 had turned נָטָ֑ה H5186 after וְאַֽחֲרֵ֥י H310 Adonijah אֲדֹֽנִיָּ֔ה H138 after וְאַֽחֲרֵ֥י H310 Absalom אַבְשָׁל֖וֹם H53 לֹ֣א H3808 had turned נָטָ֑ה H5186 fled וַיָּ֤נָס H5127 And Joab יוֹאָב֙ H3097 אֶל H413 unto the tabernacle אֹ֣הֶל H168 of the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 and caught hold וַֽיַּחֲזֵ֖ק H2388 on the horns בְּקַרְנ֥וֹת H7161 of the altar הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ H4196 29 And it was told וַיֻּגַּ֞ד H5046 king לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה H8010 כִּ֣י H3588 was fled נָ֤ס H5127 that Joab יוֹאָב֙ H3097 אֶל H413 unto the tabernacle אֹ֣הֶל H168 of the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 וְהִנֵּ֖ה H2009 and behold he is by אֵ֣צֶל H681 the altar הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ H4196 sent וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח H7971 Solomon שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה H8010 אֶת H853 Benaiah בְּנָיָ֧הוּ H1141 the son בֶן H1121 of Jehoiada יְהֽוֹיָדָ֛ע H3077 saying לֵאמֹ֖ר H559 לֵ֥ךְ H1980 fall פְּגַע H6293 בּֽוֹ׃ H0 30 came וַיָּבֹ֨א H935 And Benaiah בְּנָיָ֤הוּ H1141 אֶל H413 to the tabernacle אֹ֣הֶל H168 of the LORD יְהוָ֗ה H3068 And he said לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 אֵלָ֜יו H413 כֹּֽה H3541 And he said לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 the king הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 Come forth צֵ֔א H3318 And he said לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 לֹ֖א H3808 כִּ֣י H3588 פֹ֣ה H6311 Nay but I will die אָמ֑וּת H4191 again וַיָּ֨שֶׁב H7725 And Benaiah בְּנָיָ֤הוּ H1141 אֶת H853 the king הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 word דָּבָ֣ר H1697 And he said לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 כֹּֽה H3541 Thus said דִבֶּ֥ר H1696 Joab יוֹאָ֖ב H3097 וְכֹ֥ה H3541 and thus he answered עָנָֽנִי׃ H6030 31 said וַיֹּ֧אמֶר H559 ל֣וֹ H0 And the king הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ H4428 unto him Do עֲשֵׂה֙ H6213 כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 as he hath said דִּבֶּ֔ר H1696 and fall וּפְגַע H6293 בּ֖וֹ H0 upon him and bury וּקְבַרְתּ֑וֹ H6912 him that thou mayest take away shall be blessed בָּר֑וּךְ H1288 and the throne וְכִסֵּ֣א H3678 of David דָוִ֗ד H1732 יִֽהְיֶ֥ה H1961 shall be established נָכ֛וֹן H3559 before לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 for עַד H5704 ever עוֹלָֽם׃ H5769 46 commanded וַיְצַ֣ו H6680 So the king הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ H4428 אֶת H853 Benaiah בְּנָיָ֙הוּ֙ H1141 the son בֶּן H1121 of Jehoiada יְה֣וֹיָדָ֔ע H3077 which went out וַיֵּצֵ֕א H3318 and fell
