H758 gathered קָבַץ֙ H6908 אֶת H853 כָּל H3605 all his host חֵיל֔וֹ H2428 and there were thirty וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֨ים H7970 and two וּשְׁנַ֥יִם H8147 kings מֶ֛לֶךְ H4428 אִתּ֖וֹ H854 with him and horses וְס֣וּס H5483 and chariots וָרָ֑כֶב H7393 and he went up וַיַּ֗עַל H5927 and besieged וַיָּ֙צַר֙ H6696 עַל H5921 Samaria שֹׁ֣מְר֔וֹן H8111 and warred וַיִּלָּ֖חֶם H3898 בָּֽהּ׃ H0 2 And he sent וַיִּשְׁלַ֧ח H7971 messengers מַלְאָכִ֛ים H4397 אֶל H413 to Ahab אַחְאָ֥ב H256 king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 into the city הָעִֽירָה׃ H5892 and said אָמַ֣ר H559 ל֗וֹ H0 כֹּ֚ה H3541 and said אָמַ֣ר H559 בֶּן H0 Benhadad הֲדַ֔ד H1130 3 Thy silver כַּסְפְּךָ֥ H3701 and thy gold וּֽזְהָבְךָ֖ H2091 לִי H0 ה֑וּא H1931 is mine thy wives וְנָשֶׁ֧יךָ H802 also and thy children וּבָנֶ֛יךָ H1121 even the goodliest הַטּוֹבִ֖ים H2896 לִי H0 הֵֽם׃ H1992 4 answered וַיַּ֤עַן H6030 And the king הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 and said וַיֹּ֔אמֶר H559 according to thy saying כִּדְבָֽרְךָ֖ H1697 My lord אֲדֹנִ֣י H113 And the king הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 לְךָ֥ H0 אֲנִ֖י H589 וְכָל H3605 אֲשֶׁר H834 לִֽי׃ H0 5 came again וַיָּשֻׁ֙בוּ֙ H7725 And the messengers הַמַּלְאָכִ֔ים H4397 Thus speaketh לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 כֹּֽה H3541 Thus speaketh לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 בֶּן H0 Benhadad הֲדַ֖ד H1130 Thus speaketh לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 כִּֽי H3588 Although I have sent שָׁלַ֤חְתִּי H7971 אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ H413 Thus speaketh לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 me thy silver כַּסְפְּךָ֧ H3701 and thy gold וּֽזְהָבְךָ֛ H2091 and thy wives וְנָשֶׁ֥יךָ H802 and thy children וּבָנֶ֖יךָ H1121 לִ֥י H0 Thou shalt deliver תִתֵּֽן׃ H5414 6 כִּ֣י׀ H3588 אִם H518 about this time כָּעֵ֣ת H6256 unto thee to morrow מָחָ֗ר H4279 Yet I will send אֶשְׁלַ֤ח H7971 אֶת H853 my servants עֲבָדֶ֑יךָ H5650 אֵלֶ֔יךָ H413 and they shall search וְחִפְּשׂוּ֙ H2664 אֶת H853 and the houses בָּתֵּ֣י H1004 וְאֵ֖ת H853 and the houses בָּתֵּ֣י H1004 my servants עֲבָדֶ֑יךָ H5650 and it shall be וְהָיָה֙ H1961 כָּל H3605 that whatsoever is pleasant מַחְמַ֣ד H4261 in thine eyes עֵינֶ֔יךָ H5869 they shall put יָשִׂ֥ימוּ H7760 it in their hand בְיָדָ֖ם H3027 and take it away וְלָקָֽחוּ׃ H3947 7 called וַיִּקְרָ֤א H7121 Then the king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 לְכָל H3605 all the elders זִקְנֵ֣י H2205 of the land הָאָ֔רֶץ H776 and said וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 Mark דְּעוּ H3045 נָ֣א H4994 I pray you and see וּרְא֔וּ H7200 כִּ֥י H3588 mischief רָעָ֖ה H7451 זֶ֣ה H2088 how this man seeketh מְבַקֵּ֑שׁ H1245 כִּֽי H3588 for he sent שָׁלַ֨ח H7971 אֵלַ֜י H413 unto me for my wives לְנָשַׁ֤י H802 and for my children וּלְבָנַי֙ H1121 and for my silver וּלְכַסְפִּ֣י H3701 and for my gold וְלִזְהָבִ֔י H2091 וְלֹ֥א H3808 and I denied מָנַ֖עְתִּי H4513 מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ H4480 8 said וַיֹּֽאמְר֥וּ H559 אֵלָ֛יו H413 כָּל H3605 And all the elders הַזְּקֵנִ֖ים H2205 וְכָל H3605 and all the people הָעָ֑ם H5971 אַל H408 unto him Hearken תִּשְׁמַ֖ע H8085 וְל֥וֹא H3808 not unto him nor consent תֹאבֶֽה׃ H14 9 Tell אִמְר֞וּ H559 And the messengers הַמַּלְאָכִ֔ים H4397 בֶן H0 of Benhadad הֲדַ֗ד H1130 Tell אִמְר֞וּ H559 my lord לַֽאדֹנִ֤י H113 the king הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 כֹּל֩ H3605 אֲשֶׁר H834 All that thou didst send שָׁלַ֨חְתָּ H7971 אֶל H413 for to thy servant עַבְדְּךָ֤ H5650 at the first בָרִֽאשֹׁנָה֙ H7223 I will do לַֽעֲשׂ֑וֹת H6213 but this thing דָּבָֽר׃ H1697 הַזֶּ֔ה H2088 לֹ֥א H3808 I may אוּכַ֖ל H3201 I will do לַֽעֲשׂ֑וֹת H6213 וַיֵּֽלְכוּ֙ H1980 And the messengers הַמַּלְאָכִ֔ים H4397 again וַיְשִׁבֻ֖הוּ H7725 but this thing דָּבָֽר׃ H1697 10 sent וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח H7971 אֵלָיו֙ H413 בֶּן H0 And Benhadad הֲדַ֔ד H1130 unto him and said וַיֹּ֕אמֶר H559 כֹּֽה H3541 do so יַעֲשׂ֥וּן H6213 לִ֛י H0 The gods אֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 וְכֹ֣ה H3541 unto me and more also יוֹסִ֑פוּ H3254 אִם H518 shall suffice יִשְׂפֹּק֙ H5606 if the dust עֲפַ֣ר H6083 of Samaria שֹֽׁמְר֔וֹן H8111 for handfuls לִשְׁעָלִ֕ים H8168 לְכָל H3605 for all the people הָעָ֖ם H5971 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 that follow בְּרַגְלָֽי׃ H7272 11 answered וַיַּ֤עַן H6030 And the king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 and said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 Tell דַּבְּר֔וּ H1696 אַל H408 on his harness boast יִתְהַלֵּ֥ל H1984 him Let not him that girdeth חֹגֵ֖ר H2296 himself as he that putteth it off כִּמְפַתֵּֽחַ׃ H6605 12 וַיְהִ֗י H1961 And it came to pass when Benhadad heard כִּשְׁמֹ֙עַ֙ H8085 אֶת H853 this message הַדָּבָ֣ר H1697 הַזֶּ֔ה H2088 וְה֥וּא H1931 as he was drinking שֹׁתֶ֛ה H8354 ה֥וּא H1931 he and the kings וְהַמְּלָכִ֖ים H4428 in the pavilions בַּסֻּכּ֑וֹת H5521 that he said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 אֶל H413 unto his servants עֲבָדָיו֙ H5650 Set וַיָּשִׂ֖ימוּ H7760 Set וַיָּשִׂ֖ימוּ H7760 עַל H5921 themselves in array against the city הָעִֽיר׃ H5892 13 וְהִנֵּ֣ה׀ H2009 prophet נָבִ֣יא H5030 a אֶחָ֗ד H259 And behold there came נִגַּשׁ֮ H5066 אֶל H413 unto Ahab אַחְאָ֣ב H256 king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ H3478 Thus saith אָמַ֣ר H559 כֹּ֚ה H3541 Thus saith אָמַ֣ר H559 that I am the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 Hast thou seen הְֽרָאִ֔יתָ H7200 אֵ֛ת H853 כָּל H3605 multitude הֶֽהָמ֥וֹן H1995 all this great הַגָּד֖וֹל H1419 הַזֶּ֑ה H2088 הִנְנִ֨י H2009 behold I will deliver נֹֽתְנ֤וֹ H5414 it into thine hand בְיָֽדְךָ֙ H3027 this day הַיּ֔וֹם H3117 and thou shalt know וְיָֽדַעְתָּ֖ H3045 כִּֽי H3588 אֲנִ֥י H589 that I am the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 14 And he answered וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 And Ahab אַחְאָב֙ H256 בְּמִ֔י H4310 And he answered וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 כֹּֽה H3541 And he answered וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 Even by the young men בְּנַֽעֲרֵ֖י H5288 of the princes שָׂרֵ֣י H8269 of the provinces הַמְּדִינ֑וֹת H4082 And he answered וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 מִֽי H4310 Who shall order יֶאְסֹ֥ר H631 the battle הַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה H4421 And he answered וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 אָֽתָּה׃ H859 15 Then he numbered פָּקַ֧ד H6485 אֶֽת H853 the young men נַעֲרֵי֙ H5288 of the princes שָׂרֵ֣י H8269 of the provinces הַמְּדִינ֔וֹת H4082 וַיִּֽהְי֕וּ H1961 hundred מָאתַ֖יִם H3967 and they were two שְׁנַ֣יִם H8147 and thirty וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֑ים H7970 and after וְאַֽחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם H310 Then he numbered פָּקַ֧ד H6485 אֶת H853 כָּל H3605 all the people הָעָ֛ם H5971 כָּל H3605 even all the children בְּנֵ֥י H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 being seven שִׁבְעַ֥ת H7651 thousand אֲלָפִֽים׃ H505 16 And they went out וַיֵּֽצְא֖וּ H3318 at noon בַּֽצָּהֳרָ֑יִם H6672 וּבֶן H0 But Benhadad הֲדַד֩ H1130 was drinking שֹׁתֶ֨ה H8354 himself drunk שִׁכּ֜וֹר H7910 in the pavilions בַּסֻּכּ֗וֹת H5521 ה֧וּא H1931 he and the kings מֶ֖לֶךְ H4428 the thirty שְׁלֹשִֽׁים H7970 and two וּשְׁנַ֥יִם H8147 he and the kings מֶ֖לֶךְ H4428 that helped עֹזֵ֥ר H5826 אֹתֽוֹ׃ H853 17 come out יָֽצְא֖וּ H3318 And the young men נַֽעֲרֵ֛י H5288 of the princes שָׂרֵ֥י H8269 of the provinces הַמְּדִינ֖וֹת H4082 first בָּרִֽאשֹׁנָ֑ה H7223 sent out וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח H7971 בֶּן H0 and Benhadad הֲדַ֗ד H1130 and they told וַיַּגִּ֤ידוּ H5046 לוֹ֙ H0 him saying לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 There are men אֲנָשִׁ֕ים H582 come out יָֽצְא֖וּ H3318 of Samaria מִשֹּֽׁמְרֽוֹן׃ H8111 18 And he said וַיֹּ֛אמֶר H559 אִם H518 for peace לְשָׁל֥וֹם H7965 Whether they be come out יָצָ֖אוּ H3318 take תִּפְשֽׂוּם׃ H8610 them alive חַיִּ֥ים H2416 וְאִ֧ם H518 for war לְמִלְחָמָ֛ה H4421 Whether they be come out יָצָ֖אוּ H3318 them alive חַיִּ֥ים H2416 take תִּפְשֽׂוּם׃ H8610 19 וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ H428 came out יָֽצְא֣וּ H3318 מִן H4480 of the city הָעִ֔יר H5892 So these young men נַֽעֲרֵ֖י H5288 of the princes שָׂרֵ֣י H8269 of the provinces הַמְּדִינ֑וֹת H4082 and the army וְהַחַ֖יִל H2428 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which followed אַֽחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃ H310 20 And they slew וַיַּכּוּ֙ H5221 every one אִישׁ֔וֹ H376 every one אִישׁ֔וֹ H376 fled וַיָּנֻ֣סֽוּ H5127 and the Syrians אֲרָ֔ם H758 pursued וַֽיִּרְדְּפֵ֖ם H7291 and Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 escaped וַיִּמָּלֵ֗ט H4422 בֶּן H0 them and Benhadad הֲדַד֙ H1130 the king מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 and the Syrians אֲרָ֔ם H758 עַל H5921 on an horse ס֖וּס H5483 with the horsemen וּפָֽרָשִֽׁים׃ H6571 21 went out וַיֵּצֵא֙ H3318 And the king מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 and slew וְהִכָּ֥ה H5221 אֶת H853 the horses הַסּ֖וּס H5483 וְאֶת H853 and chariots הָרָ֑כֶב H7393 and slew וְהִכָּ֥ה H5221 the Syrians בַֽאֲרָ֖ם H758 slaughter מַכָּ֥ה H4347 with a great גְדוֹלָֽה׃ H1419 22 came וַיִּגַּ֤שׁ H5066 And the prophet הַנָּבִיא֙ H5030 אֶל H413 the king מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 and said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 לוֹ֙ H0 לֵ֣ךְ H1980 strengthen הִתְחַזַּ֔ק H2388 thyself and mark וְדַ֥ע H3045 and see וּרְאֵ֖ה H7200 אֵ֣ת H853 אֲשֶׁר H834 what thou doest תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֑ה H6213 כִּ֚י H3588 for at the return לִתְשׁוּבַ֣ת H8666 of the year הַשָּׁנָ֔ה H8141 the king מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 of Syria אֲרָ֖ם H758 will come up עֹלֶ֥ה H5927 עָלֶֽיךָ׃ H5921 23 And the servants וְעַבְדֵ֨י H5650 of the king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Syria אֲרָ֜ם H758 said אָֽמְר֣וּ H559 אֵלָ֗יו H413 are gods אֱלֹ֣הֵיהֶ֔ם H430 of the hills הָרִים֙ H2022 are gods אֱלֹ֣הֵיהֶ֔ם H430 עַל H5921 כֵּ֖ן H3651 therefore they were stronger נֶֽחֱזַ֖ק H2388 מִמֶּ֑נּוּ H4480 than we but וְאוּלָ֗ם H199 let us fight נִלָּחֵ֤ם H3898 אִתָּם֙ H854 against them in the plain בַּמִּישׁ֔וֹר H4334 אִם H518 and surely לֹ֥א H3808 therefore they were stronger נֶֽחֱזַ֖ק H2388 מֵהֶֽם׃ H1992 24 וְאֶת H853 this thing הַדָּבָ֥ר H1697 הַזֶּ֖ה H2088 And do עֲשֵׂ֑ה H6213 Take הָסֵ֤ר H5493 the kings הַמְּלָכִים֙ H4428 away every man אִ֣ישׁ H376 out of his place מִמְּקֹמ֔וֹ H4725 and put וְשִׂ֥ים H7760 captains פַּח֖וֹת H6346 תַּחְתֵּיהֶֽם׃ H8478 25 וְאַתָּ֣ה H859 And number תִֽמְנֶֽה H4487 לְךָ֣׀ H0 like the army כַּחַיִל֩ H2428 like the army כַּחַיִל֩ H2428 that thou hast lost הַנֹּפֵ֨ל H5307 מֵֽאוֹתָ֜ךְ H853 for horse כַּסּ֣וּס׀ H5483 for horse כַּסּ֣וּס׀ H5483 and chariot כָּרֶ֗כֶב H7393 and chariot כָּרֶ֗כֶב H7393 and we will fight וְנִֽלָּחֲמָ֤ה H3898 אוֹתָם֙ H853 them in the plain בַּמִּישׁ֔וֹר H4334 אִם H518 לֹ֥א H3808 and surely we shall be stronger נֶֽחֱזַ֖ק H2388 מֵהֶ֑ם H1992 than they And he hearkened וַיִּשְׁמַ֥ע H8085 unto their voice לְקֹלָ֖ם H6963 and did so וַיַּ֥עַשׂ H6213 כֵּֽן׃ H3651 26 וַֽיְהִי֙ H1961 And it came to pass at the return לִתְשׁוּבַ֣ת H8666 of the year הַשָּׁנָ֔ה H8141 numbered וַיִּפְקֹ֥ד H6485 בֶּן H0 that Benhadad הֲדַ֖ד H1130 אֶת H853 the Syrians אֲרָ֑ם H758 and went up וַיַּ֣עַל H5927 to Aphek אֲפֵ֔קָה H663 to fight לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה H4421 עִם H5973 against Israel יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 27 And the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל H3478 were numbered הָתְפָּֽקְדוּ֙ H6485 and were all present וְכָלְכְּל֔וּ H3557 וַיֵּֽלְכ֖וּ H1980 against לִקְרָאתָ֑ם H7125 pitched וַיַּֽחֲנ֨וּ H2583 And the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל H3478 נֶגְדָּ֗ם H5048 before them like two כִּשְׁנֵי֙ H8147 little flocks חֲשִׂפֵ֣י H2835 of kids עִזִּ֔ים H5795 but the Syrians וַֽאֲרָ֖ם H758 filled מִלְא֥וּ H4390 אֶת H853 the country הָאָֽרֶץ׃ H776 28 And there came וַיִּגַּ֞שׁ H5066 a man אִ֣ישׁ H376 but he is not God אֱלֹהֵ֥י H430 Thus saith אָֽמְר֤וּ H559 אֶל H413 unto the king מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ H3478 Thus saith אָֽמְר֤וּ H559 כֹּֽה H3541 Thus saith אָֽמְר֤וּ H559 The LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 יַ֠עַן H3282 אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 Thus saith אָֽמְר֤וּ H559 Because the Syrians אֲרָם֙ H758 but he is not God אֱלֹהֵ֥י H430 of the hills הָרִים֙ H2022 The LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 וְלֹֽא H3808 but he is not God אֱלֹהֵ֥י H430 of the valleys עֲמָקִ֖ים H6010 ה֑וּא H1931 therefore will I deliver וְ֠נָֽתַתִּי H5414 אֶת H853 כָּל H3605 multitude הֶֽהָמ֨וֹן H1995 all this great הַגָּ֤דוֹל H1419 הַזֶּה֙ H2088 into thine hand בְּיָדֶ֔ךָ H3027 and ye shall know וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם H3045 כִּֽי H3588 אֲנִ֥י H589 The LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 29 And they pitched וַֽיַּחֲנ֧וּ H2583 one אֵ֖לֶּה H428 over against נֹֽכַח H5227 one אֵ֖לֶּה H428 seven שִׁבְעַ֣ת H7651 day בְּי֥וֹם H3117 וַיְהִ֣י׀ H1961 day בְּי֥וֹם H3117 And so it was that in the seventh הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י H7637 was joined וַתִּקְרַב֙ H7126 the battle הַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה H4421 slew וַיַּכּ֨וּ H5221 and the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֧ל H3478 אֶת H853 of the Syrians אֲרָ֛ם H758 an hundred מֵֽאָה H3967 thousand אֶ֥לֶף H505 footmen רַגְלִ֖י H7273 day בְּי֥וֹם H3117 in one אֶחָֽד׃ H259 30 fled נָ֔ס H5127 But the rest הַנּֽוֹתָרִ֑ים H3498 to Aphek אֲפֵקָה֮ H663 אֶל H413 into the city הָעִ֖יר H5892 fell וַתִּפֹּל֙ H5307 and there a wall הַֽחוֹמָ֔ה H2346 עַל H5921 upon twenty עֶשְׂרִ֨ים H6242 and seven וְשִׁבְעָ֥ה H7651 thousand אֶ֛לֶף H505 of the men אִ֖ישׁ H376 But the rest הַנּֽוֹתָרִ֑ים H3498 וּבֶן H0 And Benhadad הֲדַ֣ד H1130 fled נָ֔ס H5127 and came וַיָּבֹ֥א H935 אֶל H413 into the city הָעִ֖יר H5892 chamber בְּחָֽדֶר׃ H2315 chamber בְּחָֽדֶר׃ H2315 31 said וַיֹּֽאמְר֣וּ H559 אֵלָיו֮ H413 And his servants עֲבָדָיו֒ H5650 הִנֵּה H2009 נָ֣א H4994 unto him Behold now we have heard שָׁמַ֔עְנוּ H8085 כִּ֗י H3588 kings מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 of the house בֵּ֣ית H1004 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 כִּֽי H3588 kings מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 are merciful חֶ֖סֶד H2617 הֵ֑ם H1992 let us I pray thee put נָשִׂ֣ימָה H7760 נָּא֩ H4994 sackcloth שַׂקִּ֨ים H8242 on our loins בְּמָתְנֵ֜ינוּ H4975 and ropes וַֽחֲבָלִ֣ים H2256 upon our heads בְּרֹאשֵׁ֗נוּ H7218 and go out וְנֵצֵא֙ H3318 אֶל H413 kings מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 אוּלַ֖י H194 peradventure he will save יְחַיֶּ֥ה H2421 אֶת H853 thy life נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ H5315 32 So they girded וַיַּחְגְּרוּ֩ H2296 sackcloth שַׂקִּ֨ים H8242 on their loins בְּמָתְנֵיהֶ֜ם H4975 and put ropes וַֽחֲבָלִ֣ים H2256 on their heads בְּרָֽאשֵׁיהֶ֗ם H7218 and came וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ H935 אֶל H413
