H413 Then Nahash נָחָ֔שׁ H5176 Make כְּרָת H3772 לָ֥נוּ H0 a covenant בְרִ֖ית H1285 with us and we will serve וְנַֽעַבְדֶֽךָּ׃ H5647 2 answered וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם H413 And Nahash נָחָשׁ֙ H5176 וְיָצָ֥אנוּ H3318 אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ H413 4 Then came וַיָּבֹ֤אוּ H935 the messengers הַמַּלְאָכִים֙ H4397 to Gibeah גִּבְעַ֣ת H1390 of Saul שָׁא֔וּל H7586 and told וַיְדַבְּר֥וּ H1696 the tidings הַדְּבָרִ֖ים H1697 in the ears בְּאָזְנֵ֣י H241 and all the people הָעָ֛ם H5971 lifted up וַיִּשְׂא֧וּ H5375 כָל H3605 and all the people הָעָ֛ם H5971 אֶת H853 their voices קוֹלָ֖ם H6963 and wept וַיִּבְכּֽוּ׃ H1058 5 וְהִנֵּ֣ה H2009 And behold Saul שָׁא֔וּל H7586 came בָּ֣א H935 after אַֽחֲרֵ֤י H310 the herd הַבָּקָר֙ H1241 מִן H4480 out of the field הַשָּׂדֶ֔ה H7704 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And behold Saul שָׁא֔וּל H7586 מַה H4100 What aileth the people לָּעָ֖ם H5971 כִּ֣י H3588 that they weep יִבְכּ֑וּ H1058 And they told וַיְסַ֨פְּרוּ H5608 ל֔וֹ H0 אֶת H853 him the tidings דִּבְרֵ֖י H1697 of the men אַנְשֵׁ֥י H582 of Jabesh יָבֵֽישׁ׃ H3003 6 came וַתִּצְלַ֤ח H6743 And the Spirit רֽוּחַ H7307 of God אֱלֹהִים֙ H430 עַל H5921 upon Saul שָׁא֔וּל H7586 when he heard בְּשָׁמְע֖וֹ H8085 אֶת H853 those tidings הַדְּבָרִ֣ים H1697 הָאֵ֑לֶּה H428 was kindled וַיִּ֥חַר H2734 and his anger אַפּ֖וֹ H639 greatly מְאֹֽד׃ H3966 7 And he took וַיִּקַּח֩ H3947 a yoke צֶ֨מֶד H6776 of oxen לִבְקָר֑וֹ H1241 and hewed them in pieces וַֽיְנַתְּחֵ֗הוּ H5408 and sent וַיְשַׁלַּ֞ח H7971 בְּכָל H3605 them throughout all the coasts גְּב֣וּל H1366 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ H3478 by the hands בְּיַ֣ד H3027 of messengers הַמַּלְאָכִ֣ים׀ H4397 saying לֵאמֹר֒ H559 אֲשֶׁר֩ H834 אֵינֶ֨נּוּ H369 Whosoever cometh not forth וַיֵּֽצְא֖וּ H3318 after וְאַחַ֣ר H310 Saul שָׁאוּל֙ H7586 after וְאַחַ֣ר H310 Samuel שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל H8050 כֹּ֥ה H3541 so shall it be done יֵֽעָשֶׂ֖ה H6213 of oxen לִבְקָר֑וֹ H1241 fell וַיִּפֹּ֤ל H5307 And the fear פַּֽחַד H6343 of the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 עַל H5921 on the people הָעָ֔ם H5971 Whosoever cometh not forth וַיֵּֽצְא֖וּ H3318 consent כְּאִ֥ישׁ H376 with one אֶחָֽד׃ H259 8 And when he numbered וַֽיִּפְקְדֵ֖ם H6485 them in Bezek בְּבָ֑זֶק H966 וַיִּֽהְי֤וּ H1961 the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 were three שְׁלֹ֣שׁ H7969 hundred מֵא֣וֹת H3967 thousand אָֽלֶף׃ H505 and the men וְאִ֥ישׁ H376 of Judah יְהוּדָ֖ה H3063 thirty שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים H7970 thousand אָֽלֶף׃ H505 9 And they said תֹֽאמְרוּן֙ H559 And the messengers הַמַּלְאָכִ֗ים H4397 came וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ H935 כֹּ֤ה H3541 And they said תֹֽאמְרוּן֙ H559 unto the men לְאַנְשֵׁ֥י H376 of Jabesh יָבֵ֖ישׁ H3003 גִּלְעָ֔ד H1568 To morrow מָחָ֛ר H4279 תִּֽהְיֶֽה H1961 לָכֶ֥ם H0 ye shall have help תְּשׁוּעָ֖ה H8668 be hot בְּחֹ֣ם H2527 by that time the sun הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ H8121 came וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ H935 And the messengers הַמַּלְאָכִ֗ים H4397 and shewed וַיַּגִּ֛ידוּ H5046 unto the men לְאַנְשֵׁ֥י H376 of Jabesh יָבֵ֖ישׁ H3003 and they were glad וַיִּשְׂמָֽחוּ׃ H8055 10 said וַֽיֹּאמְרוּ֙ H559 Therefore the men אַנְשֵׁ֣י H582 of Jabesh יָבֵ֔ישׁ H3003 To morrow מָחָ֖ר H4279 we will come out נֵצֵ֣א H3318 אֲלֵיכֶ֑ם H413 unto you and ye shall do וַֽעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם H6213 לָּ֔נוּ H0 כְּכָל H3605 good הַטּ֖וֹב H2896 with us all that seemeth בְּעֵֽינֵיכֶֽם׃ H5869 11 וַיְהִ֣י H1961 And it was so on the morrow מִֽמָּחֳרָ֗ת H4283 put וַיָּ֨שֶׂם H7760 that Saul שָׁא֣וּל H7586 אֶת H853 the people הָעָם֮ H5971 in three שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה H7969 companies רָאשִׁים֒ H7218 and they came וַיָּבֹ֤אוּ H935 into the midst בְתוֹךְ H8432 of the host הַֽמַּחֲנֶה֙ H4264 watch בְּאַשְׁמֹ֣רֶת H821 in the morning הַבֹּ֔קֶר H1242 and slew וַיַּכּ֥וּ H5221 אֶת H853 the Ammonites עַמּ֖וֹן H5983 עַד H5704 until the heat חֹ֣ם H2527 of the day הַיּ֑וֹם H3117 וַיְהִ֤י H1961 and it came to pass that they which remained נִשְׁאֲרוּ H7604 were scattered וַיָּפֻ֔צוּ H6327 וְלֹ֥א H3808 and it came to pass that they which remained נִשְׁאֲרוּ H7604 בָ֖ם H0 so that two שְׁנַ֥יִם H8147 together יָֽחַד׃ H3162 12 Who is he that said הָֽאֹמֵ֔ר H559 And the people הָעָם֙ H5971 אֶל H413 unto Samuel שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל H8050 מִ֣י H4310 Who is he that said הָֽאֹמֵ֔ר H559 Shall Saul שָׁא֖וּל H7586 reign יִמְלֹ֣ךְ H4427 עָלֵ֑ינוּ H5921 over us bring תְּנ֥וּ H5414 הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֖ים H376 that we may put them to death וּנְמִיתֵֽם׃ H4191 13 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And Saul שָׁא֔וּל H7586 לֹֽא H3808 be put to death יוּמַ֥ת H4191 There shall not a man אִ֖ישׁ H376 for to day הַיּ֛וֹם H3117 הַזֶּ֑ה H2088 כִּ֥י H3588 for to day הַיּ֛וֹם H3117 hath wrought עָשָֽׂה H6213 the LORD יְהוָ֥ה H3068 salvation תְּשׁוּעָ֖ה H8668 in Israel בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 14 Then said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 Samuel שְׁמוּאֵל֙ H8050 אֶל H413 to the people הָעָ֔ם H5971 לְכ֖וּ H1980 וְנֵֽלְכָ֣ה H1980 to Gilgal הַגִּלְגָּ֑ל H1537 and renew וּנְחַדֵּ֥שׁ H2318 שָׁ֖ם H8033 the kingdom הַמְּלוּכָֽה׃ H4410 15 וַיֵּֽלְכ֨וּ H1980 כָל H3605 And all the people הָעָ֜ם H5971 in Gilgal בַּגִּלְגָּ֔ל H1537 king וַיַּמְלִכוּ֩ H4427 שָׁ֨ם H8033 אֶת H853 and there Saul שָׁא֛וּל H7586 before לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 the LORD יְהוָ֑ה H3068 in Gilgal בַּגִּלְגָּ֔ל H1537 and there they sacrificed וַיִּזְבְּחוּ H2076 שָׁ֛ם H8033 sacrifices זְבָחִ֥ים H2077 of peace offerings שְׁלָמִ֖ים H8002 before לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 the LORD יְהוָ֑ה H3068 rejoiced וַיִּשְׂמַ֨ח H8055 שָׁ֥ם H8033 and there Saul שָׁא֛וּל H7586 וְכָל H3605 אַנְשֵׁ֥י H376 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 עַד H5704 greatly מְאֹֽד׃ H3966 [1
