בַֽאֲנָשִֽׁים׃ H376 in the days בִּימֵ֣י H3117 of Saul שָׁא֔וּל H7586 for an old man זָקֵ֖ן H2204 went בָּ֥א H935 and the man בַֽאֲנָשִֽׁים׃ H376 13 that went הָֽלְכוּ֙ H1980 And the three שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת H7969 sons בָּנָ֗יו H1121 of Jesse יִשַׁי֙ H3448 eldest הַגְּדֹלִ֔ים H1419 that went הָֽלְכוּ֙ H1980 and followed אַֽחֲרֵי H310 Saul שָׁא֖וּל H7586 to the battle בַּמִּלְחָמָ֔ה H4421 and the names וְשֵׁ֣ם׀ H8034 And the three שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת H7969 sons בָּנָ֗יו H1121 אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 that went הָֽלְכוּ֙ H1980 to the battle בַּמִּלְחָמָ֔ה H4421 were Eliab אֱלִיאָ֣ב H446 the firstborn הַבְּכ֗וֹר H1060 and next וּמִשְׁנֵ֙הוּ֙ H4932 unto him Abinadab אֲבִ֣ינָדָ֔ב H41 and the third וְהַשְּׁלִשִׁ֖י H7992 Shammah שַׁמָּֽה׃ H8048 14 And David וְדָוִ֖ד H1732 ה֣וּא H1931 was the youngest הַקָּטָ֑ן H6996 and the three וּשְׁלֹשָׁה֙ H7969 eldest הַגְּדֹלִ֔ים H1419 followed הָֽלְכ֖וּ H1980 אַֽחֲרֵ֥י H310 Saul שָׁאֽוּל׃ H7586 15 But David וְדָוִ֛ד H1732 went הֹלֵ֥ךְ H1980 and returned וָשָׁ֖ב H7725 מֵעַ֣ל H5921 from Saul שָׁא֑וּל H7586 to feed לִרְע֛וֹת H7462 אֶת H853 sheep צֹ֥אן H6629 his father's אָבִ֖יו H1 בֵּֽית H0 at Bethlehem לָֽחֶם׃ H1035 16 drew near וַיִּגַּ֥שׁ H5066 And the Philistine הַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖י H6430 morning הַשְׁכֵּ֣ם H7925 and evening וְהַֽעֲרֵ֑ב H6150 and presented וַיִּתְיַצֵּ֖ב H3320 himself forty אַרְבָּעִ֥ים H705 days יֽוֹם׃ H3117 17 said וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 And Jesse יִשַׁ֜י H3448 unto David לְדָוִ֣ד H1732 his son בְּנ֗וֹ H1121 Take קַח H3947 נָ֤א H4994 now for thy brethren לְאַחֶֽיךָ׃ H251 an ephah אֵיפַ֤ת H374 parched הַקָּלִיא֙ H7039 of this הַזֶּ֑ה H2088 corn and these ten וַֽעֲשָׂרָ֥ה H6235 loaves לֶ֖חֶם H3899 of this הַזֶּ֑ה H2088 and run וְהָרֵ֥ץ H7323 to the camp הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה H4264 now for thy brethren לְאַחֶֽיךָ׃ H251 18 וְ֠אֵת H853 these ten עֲשֶׂ֜רֶת H6235 חֲרִצֵ֤י H2757 cheeses הֶֽחָלָב֙ H2461 הָאֵ֔לֶּה H428 And carry תָּבִ֖יא H935 unto the captain לְשַׂר H8269 of their thousand הָאָ֑לֶף H505 וְאֶת H853 how thy brethren אַחֶ֙יךָ֙ H251 and look תִּפְקֹ֣ד H6485 fare לְשָׁל֔וֹם H7965 וְאֶת H853 their pledge עֲרֻבָּתָ֖ם H6161 and take תִּקָּֽח׃ H3947 19 Now Saul וְשָׁא֤וּל H7586 וְהֵ֙מָּה֙ H1992 וְכָל H3605 אִ֣ישׁ H582 of Israel David דָּוִ֜ד H1732 in the morning בַּבֹּ֗קֶר H1242 and left וַיִּטֹּ֤שׁ H5203 אֶת H853 the sheep הַצֹּאן֙ H6629 עַל H5921 with a keeper שֹׁמֵ֔ר H8104 and took וַיִּשָּׂ֣א H5375 וַיֵּ֔לֶךְ H1980 כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 had commanded צִוָּ֖הוּ H6680 as Jesse יִשָׁ֑י H3448 him and he came וַיָּבֹא֙ H935 to the trench הַמַּעְגָּ֔לָה H4570 as the host וְהַחַ֗יִל H2428 was going forth הַיֹּצֵא֙ H3318 אֶל H413 to the fight הַמַּ֣עֲרָכָ֔ה H4634 and shouted וְהֵרֵ֖עוּ H7321 for the battle בַּמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ H4421 21 had put the battle in array וַתַּֽעֲרֹ֤ךְ H6186 For Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 and the Philistines וּפְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים H6430 army מַֽעֲרָכָֽה׃ H4634 against לִקְרַ֥את H7125 army מַֽעֲרָכָֽה׃ H4634 22 left וַיִּטֹּשׁ֩ H5203 And David דָּוִ֨ד H1732 אֶת H853 his carriage הַכֵּלִ֔ים H3627 מֵֽעָלָ֗יו H5921 עַל H5921 in the hand יַד֙ H3027 of the keeper שׁוֹמֵ֣ר H8104 his carriage הַכֵּלִ֔ים H3627 and ran וַיָּ֖רָץ H7323 into the army הַמַּֽעֲרָכָ֑ה H4634 and came וַיָּבֹ֕א H935 and saluted וַיִּשְׁאַ֥ל H7592 his brethren לְאֶחָ֖יו H251 לְשָׁלֽוֹם׃ H7965 23 וְה֣וּא׀ H1931 And as he talked וַיְדַבֵּ֖ר H1696 עִמָּ֗ם H5973 וְהִנֵּ֣ה H2009 the champion אִ֣ישׁ H376 הַבֵּנַ֡יִם H1143 with them behold there came up עוֹלֶ֞ה H5927 Goliath גָּלְיָת֩ H1555 of the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים H6430 by name שְׁמ֤וֹ H8034 of Gath מִגַּת֙ H1661 מִמַּֽעַרְוֹ֣ת H4630 of the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים H6430 And as he talked וַיְדַבֵּ֖ר H1696 words כַּדְּבָרִ֣ים H1697 according to the same הָאֵ֑לֶּה H428 heard וַיִּשְׁמַ֖ע H8085 and David דָּוִֽד׃ H1732 24 וְכֹל֙ H3605 And all the men הָאִ֑ישׁ H376 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 when they saw בִּרְאוֹתָ֖ם H7200 אֶת H853 And all the men הָאִ֑ישׁ H376 fled וַיָּנֻ֙סוּ֙ H5127 from him מִפָּנָ֔יו H6440 afraid וַיִּֽירְא֖וּ H3372 and were sore מְאֹֽד׃ H3966 25 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר׀ H559 And the men הָאִ֨ישׁ H376 Israel בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 Have ye seen הַרְּאִיתֶם֙ H7200 And the men הָאִ֨ישׁ H376 is he come up עֹלֶ֑ה H5927 הַזֶּ֔ה H2088 כִּ֛י H3588 surely to defy לְחָרֵ֥ף H2778 אֶת H853 Israel בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 is he come up עֹלֶ֑ה H5927 וְֽ֠הָיָה H1961 And the men הָאִ֨ישׁ H376 אֲשֶׁר H834 who killeth יַכֶּ֜נּוּ H5221 will enrich יַעְשְׁרֶ֥נּוּ H6238 him the king הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ׀ H4428 riches עֹ֣שֶׁר H6239 him with great גָּד֗וֹל H1419 וְאֶת H853 him his daughter בִּתּוֹ֙ H1323 and will give יִתֶּן H5414 ל֔וֹ H0 וְאֵת֙ H853 house בֵּ֣ית H1004 his father's אָבִ֔יו H1 and make יַֽעֲשֶׂ֥ה H6213 free חָפְשִׁ֖י H2670 Israel בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 26 by him saying לֵאמֹר֒ H559 And David דָּוִ֗ד H1732 אֶֽל H413 to the men הָאֲנָשִׁ֞ים H582 that stood הָעֹֽמְדִ֣ים H5975 עִמּוֹ֮ H5973 by him saying לֵאמֹר֒ H559 מַה H4100 What shall be done יֵּֽעָשֶׂ֗ה H6213 to the man לָאִישׁ֙ H376 אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 that killeth יַכֶּה֙ H5221 אֶת H853 Philistine הַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֤י H6430 this הַלָּ֔ז H1975 and taketh away וְהֵסִ֥יר H5493 the reproach חֶרְפָּ֖ה H2781 מֵעַ֣ל H5921 from Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 כִּ֣י H3588 מִ֗י H4310 Philistine הַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֤י H6430 for who is this uncircumcised הֶֽעָרֵל֙ H6189 הַזֶּ֔ה H2088 כִּ֣י H3588 that he should defy חֵרֵ֔ף H2778 the armies מַֽעַרְכ֖וֹת H4634 God אֱלֹהִ֥ים H430 of the living חַיִּֽים׃ H2416 27 answered לֵאמֹ֑ר H559 לוֹ֙ H0 And the people הָעָ֔ם H5971 him after this manner כַּדָּבָ֥ר H1697 הַזֶּ֖ה H2088 answered לֵאמֹ֑ר H559 כֹּ֣ה H3541 So shall it be done יֵֽעָשֶׂ֔ה H6213 to the man לָאִ֖ישׁ H376 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 that killeth יַכֶּֽנּוּ׃ H5221 28 heard וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע H8085 And Eliab אֱלִיאָ֨ב H446 brother אָחִ֣יו H251 his eldest הַגָּד֔וֹל H1419 when he spake בְּדַבְּר֖וֹ H1696 אֶל H413 הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֑ים H376 was kindled וַיִּֽחַר H2734 anger אַף֩ H639 And Eliab אֱלִיאָ֨ב H446 against David בְּדָוִ֜ד H1732 and he said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר׀ H559 לָמָּה H4100 זֶּ֣ה H2088 Why camest thou down יָרָֽדְתָּ׃ H3381 וְעַל H5921 מִ֨י H4310 hither and with whom hast thou left נָטַ֜שְׁתָּ H5203 few מְעַ֨ט H4592 sheep הַצֹּ֤אן H6629 those הָהֵ֙נָּה֙ H2007 in the wilderness בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר H4057 אֲנִ֧י H589 I know יָדַ֣עְתִּי H3045 אֶת H853 thy pride זְדֹֽנְךָ֗ H2087 וְאֵת֙ H853 and the naughtiness רֹ֣עַ H7455 of thine heart לְבָבֶ֔ךָ H3824 כִּ֗י H3588 לְמַ֛עַן H4616 that thou mightest see רְא֥וֹת H7200 the battle הַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה H4421 Why camest thou down יָרָֽדְתָּ׃ H3381 29 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And David דָּוִ֔ד H1732 מֶ֥ה H4100 What have I now done עָשִׂ֖יתִי H6213 עָ֑תָּה H6258 הֲל֖וֹא H3808 Is there not a cause דָּבָ֥ר H1697 הֽוּא׃ H1931 30 And he turned וַיִּסֹּ֤ב H5437 from him מֵֽאֶצְלוֹ֙ H681 אֶל H413 toward מ֣וּל H4136 another אַחֵ֔ר H312 and spake וַיֹּ֖אמֶר H559 after the same manner כַּדָּבָ֖ר H1697 הַזֶּ֑ה H2088 him again וַיְשִׁבֻ֤הוּ H7725 and the people הָעָם֙ H5971 after the same manner כַּדָּבָ֖ר H1697 after the same manner כַּדָּבָ֖ר H1697 after the former לִפְנֵֽי H6440 Saul שָׁא֖וּל H7586 and he sent וַיִּקָּחֵֽהוּ׃ H3947 32 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 And David דָּוִד֙ H1732 אֶל H413 to Saul שָׁא֔וּל H7586 אַל H408 fail יִפֹּ֥ל H5307 heart לֵב H3820 Let no man's אָדָ֖ם H120 עָלָ֑יו H5921 because of him thy servant עַבְדְּךָ֣ H5650 יֵלֵ֔ךְ H1980 and fight וְנִלְחַ֖ם H3898 עִם H5973 with this Philistine הַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֥י H6430 הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 33 said וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 And Saul שָׁא֜וּל H7586 אֶל H413 to David דָּוִ֗ד H1732 לֹ֤א H3808 Thou art not able תוּכַל֙ H3201 לָלֶ֙כֶת֙ H1980 אֶל H413 against this Philistine הַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֣י H6430 הַזֶּ֔ה H2088 to fight לְהִלָּחֵ֖ם H3898 עִמּ֑וֹ H5973 כִּֽי H3588 with him for thou art but a youth נַ֣עַר H5288 אַ֔תָּה H859 וְה֛וּא H1931 and he a man אִ֥ישׁ H376 of war מִלְחָמָ֖ה H4421 from his youth מִנְּעֻרָֽיו׃ H5271 34 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 And David דָּוִד֙ H1732 אֶל H413 unto Saul שָׁא֔וּל H7586 kept רֹעֶ֨ה H7462 הָיָ֧ה H1961 Thy servant עַבְדְּךָ֛ H5650 his father's לְאָבִ֖יו H1 sheep בַּצֹּ֑אן H6629 and there came וּבָ֤א H935 a lion הָֽאֲרִי֙ H738 וְאֶת H853 and a bear הַדּ֔וֹב H1677 and took וְנָשָׂ֥א H5375 a lamb שֶׂ֖ה H7716 out of the flock מֵֽהָעֵֽדֶר׃ H5739 35 And I went out וְיָצָ֧אתִי H3318 after אַֽחֲרָ֛יו H310 and smote וְהִכִּתִ֖יו H5221 him and delivered וְהִצַּ֣לְתִּי H5337 it out of his mouth מִפִּ֑יו H6310 and when he arose וַיָּ֣קָם H6965 עָלַ֔י H5921 against me I caught וְהֶֽחֱזַ֙קְתִּי֙ H2388 him by his beard בִּזְקָנ֔וֹ H2206 and smote וְהִכִּתִ֖יו H5221 him and slew וַֽהֲמִיתִּֽיו׃ H4191 36 גַּ֧ם H1571 אֶֽת H853 both the lion הָאֲרִ֛י H738 גַּם H1571 and
