H7891 and dancing וְהַמְּחֹל֔וֹת H4246 to meet לִקְרַ֖את H7125 Saul שָׁא֣וּל H7586 king הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 with tabrets בְּתֻפִּ֥ים H8596 with joy בְּשִׂמְחָ֖ה H8057 and with instruments שָׁאוּל֙ H7586 his thousands בַּֽאֲלָפָ֔ו H505 and David וְדָוִ֖ד H1732 his ten thousands בְּרִבְבֹתָֽיו׃ H7233 8 wroth וַיִּ֨חַר H2734 And Saul לְשָׁא֜וּל H7586 was very מְאֹ֗ד H3966 displeased וַיֵּ֤רַע H3415 בְּעֵינָיו֙ H5869 and the saying הַדָּבָ֣ר H1697 הַזֶּ֔ה H2088 him and he said וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 They have ascribed נָֽתְנ֖וּ H5414 unto David לְדָוִד֙ H1732 ten thousands רְבָב֔וֹת H7233 וְלִ֥י H0 They have ascribed נָֽתְנ֖וּ H5414 but thousands הָֽאֲלָפִ֑ים H505 וְע֥וֹד H5750 ל֖וֹ H0 אַ֥ךְ H389 and what can he have more but the kingdom הַמְּלוּכָֽה׃ H4410 9 וַיְהִ֥י H1961 And Saul שָׁא֖וּל H7586 eyed עֹוֵ֣ן H5770 אֶת H853 David דָּוִ֑ד H1732 from that day מֵֽהַיּ֥וֹם H3117 הַה֖וּא H1931 and forward וָהָֽלְאָה׃ H1973 10 וַיְהִ֣י H1961 And it came to pass on the morrow מִֽמָּחֳרָ֗ת H4283 came וַתִּצְלַ֣ח H6743 spirit רוּחַ֩ H7307 from God אֱלֹהִ֨ים׀ H430 that the evil רָעָ֤ה׀ H7451 אֶל H413 in Saul's שָׁאֽוּל׃ H7586 and he prophesied וַיִּתְנַבֵּ֣א H5012 in the midst בְתוֹךְ H8432 of the house הַבַּ֔יִת H1004 and David וְדָוִ֛ד H1732 played מְנַגֵּ֥ן H5059 hand בְּיַד H3027 as at other times בְּי֑וֹם H3117 as at other times בְּי֑וֹם H3117 and there was a javelin וְהַֽחֲנִ֖ית H2595 hand בְּיַד H3027 in Saul's שָׁאֽוּל׃ H7586 11 cast וַיָּ֤טֶל H2904 And Saul שָׁאוּל֙ H7586 אֶֽת H853 the javelin הַחֲנִ֔ית H2595 for he said וַיֹּ֕אמֶר H559 I will smite אַכֶּ֥ה H5221 David דָּוִ֛ד H1732 even to the wall וּבַקִּ֑יר H7023 avoided out וַיִּסֹּ֥ב H5437 David דָּוִ֛ד H1732 of his presence מִפָּנָ֖יו H6440 twice פַּֽעֲמָֽיִם׃ H6471 12 was afraid וַיִּרָ֥א H3372 And Saul שָׁא֖וּל H7586 of מִלִּפְנֵ֣י H6440 David דָוִ֑ד H1732 כִּֽי H3588 הָיָ֤ה H1961 because the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 עִמּ֔וֹ H5973 וּמֵעִ֥ם H5973 And Saul שָׁא֖וּל H7586 was with him and was departed סָֽר׃ H5493 13 removed וַיְסִרֵ֤הוּ H5493 Therefore Saul שָׁאוּל֙ H7586 מֵֽעִמּ֔וֹ H5973 him from him and made וַיְשִׂמֵ֥הוּ H7760 ל֖וֹ H0 him his captain שַׂר H8269 over a thousand אָ֑לֶף behaved himself wisely מַשְׂכִּ֑יל H7919 and the LORD וַֽיהוָ֖ה H3068 עִמּֽוֹ׃ H5973 15 saw וַיַּ֣רְא H7200 Wherefore when Saul שָׁא֔וּל H7586 אֲשֶׁר H834 ה֖וּא H1931 that he behaved מַשְׂכִּ֣יל H7919 himself very מְאֹ֑ד H3966 he was afraid וַיָּ֖גָר H1481 of מִפָּנָֽיו׃ H6440 16 וְכָל H3605 But all Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 and Judah וִֽיהוּדָ֔ה H3063 loved אֹהֵ֖ב H157 אֶת H853 David דָּוִ֑ד H1732 כִּי H3588 ה֛וּא H1931 because he went out יוֹצֵ֥א H3318 and came in וָבָ֖א H935 before לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃ H6440 17 said אָמַ֗ר H559 And Saul וְשָׁא֣וּל H7586 אֶל H413 to David דָּוִ֗ד H1732 הִנֵּה֩ H2009 daughter בִתִּ֨י H1323 Behold my elder הַגְּדוֹלָ֤ה H1419 Merab מֵרַב֙ H4764 אֹתָהּ֙ H853 her will I give אֶתֶּן H5414 לְךָ֣ H0 thee to wife לְאִשָּׁ֔ה H802 אַ֚ךְ H389 הֱיֵה H1961 לִּ֣י H0 only be thou valiant לְבֶן H1121 חַ֔יִל H2428 for me and fight וְהִלָּחֵ֖ם H3898 battles מִלְחֲמ֣וֹת H4421 the LORD'S יְהוָ֑ה H3068 And Saul וְשָׁא֣וּל H7586 said אָמַ֗ר H559 אַל H408 תְּהִ֤י H1961 Let not mine hand יַד H3027 בּ֔וֹ H0 וּתְהִי H1961 ב֖וֹ H0 Let not mine hand יַד H3027 of the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ H6430 18 said וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 And David דָּוִ֜ד H1732 אֶל H413 unto Saul שָׁא֗וּל H7586 מִ֤י H4310 אָֽנֹכִי֙ H595 וּמִ֣י H4310 Who am I and what is my life חַיַּ֔י H2416 family מִשְׁפַּ֥חַת H4940 or my father's אָבִ֖י H1 in Israel בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 כִּֽי H3588 אֶהְיֶ֥ה H1961 that I should be son in law חָתָ֖ן H2860 to the king לַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 19 וַיְהִ֗י H1961 But it came to pass at the time בְּעֵ֥ת H6256 should have been given נִתְּנָ֛ה H5414 אֶת H853 when Merab מֵרַ֥ב wife לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ H802 20 loved וַתֶּֽאֱהַ֛ב H157 And Michal מִיכַ֥ל H4324 daughter בַּת H1323 Saul לְשָׁא֔וּל H7586 אֶת H853 David דָּוִ֑ד H1732 and they told וַיַּגִּ֣דוּ H5046 Saul לְשָׁא֔וּל H7586 pleased וַיִּשַׁ֥ר H3474 and the thing הַדָּבָ֖ר H1697 בְּעֵינָֽיו׃ H5869 21 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 And Saul שָׁאוּל֙ H7586 I will give אֶתְּנֶ֤נָּה H5414 לּוֹ֙ H0 וּתְהִי H1961 ל֣וֹ H0 him her that she H1732 in the one of the twain בִּשְׁתַּ֛יִם H8147 be my son in law תִּתְחַתֵּ֥ן H2859 בִּ֖י H0 Thou shalt this day הַיּֽוֹם׃ H3117 22 commanded וַיְצַ֨ו H6680 And Saul שָׁא֜וּל H7586 אֶת H853 his servants עֲבָדָ֖יו H5650 saying Commune דַּבְּר֨וּ H1696 אֶל H413 with David דָּוִ֤ד H1732 secretly בַּלָּט֙ H3909 and say לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 הִנֵּ֨ה H2009 hath delight חָפֵ֤ץ H2654 בְּךָ֙ H0 Behold the servants עַבְדֵ֤י H5650 And Saul's שָׁאוּל֙ H7586 in the ears בְּאָזְנֵ֣י H241 And David דָּוִ֗ד H1732 אֶת H853 those words הַדְּבָרִ֖ים H1697 הָאֵ֑לֶּה H428 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And David דָּוִ֗ד H1732 it to you a light הַֽנְקַלָּ֤ה H7043 Seemeth בְעֵֽינֵיכֶם֙ H5869 son in law הִתְחַתֵּ֣ן H2859 thing to be a king's בַּמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 וְאָֽנֹכִ֖י H595 man אִֽישׁ H376 seeing that I am a poor רָ֥שׁ H7326 and lightly esteemed וְנִקְלֶֽה׃ H7034 24 told וַיַּגִּ֜דוּ H5046 And the servants עַבְדֵ֥י H5650 of Saul שָׁא֛וּל H7586 ל֖וֹ H0 him saying לֵאמֹ֑ר H559 On this manner כַּדְּבָרִ֥ים H1697 הָאֵ֖לֶּה H428 spake דִּבֶּ֥ר H1696 David דָּוִֽד׃ H1732 25 Thus shall ye say תֹאמְר֣וּ H559 And Saul וְשָׁא֣וּל H7586 כֹּֽה H3541 Thus shall ye say תֹאמְר֣וּ H559 to David דָּוִ֖ד H1732 אֵֽין H369 desireth חֵ֤פֶץ H2656 The king הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 not any dowry בְּמֹ֔הַר H4119 כִּ֗י H3588 but an hundred בְּמֵאָה֙ H3967 foreskins עָרְל֣וֹת H6190 of the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ H6430 to be avenged לְהִנָּקֵ֖ם H5358 enemies בְּאֹֽיְבֵ֣י H341 The king הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 And Saul וְשָׁא֣וּל H7586 thought חָשַׁ֔ב H2803 fall לְהַפִּ֥יל H5307 אֶת H853 to David דָּוִ֖ד H1732 by the hand בְּיַד H3027 of the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ H6430 26 told וַיַּגִּ֨דוּ H5046 And when his servants עֲבָדָ֤יו H5650 David דָוִ֔ד H1732 אֶת H853 these words הַדָּבָר֙ H1697 הָאֵ֔לֶּה H428 it pleased וַיִּשַׁ֤ר H3474 these words הַדָּבָר֙ H1697 בְּעֵינֵ֣י H5869 David דָוִ֔ד H1732 son in law לְהִתְחַתֵּ֖ן H2859 well to be the king's בַּמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 וְלֹ֥א H3808 were not expired מָֽלְא֖וּ H4390 and the days הַיָּמִֽים׃ H3117 27 arose וַיָּ֨קָם H6965 Wherefore David דָוִד֙ H1732 וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ׀ H1980 ה֣וּא H1931 men אִישׁ֒ H376 and slew וַיַּ֣ךְ H5221 of the Philistines בַּפְּלִשְׁתִּים֮ H6430 two hundred מָאתַ֣יִם H3967 men אִישׁ֒ H376 brought וַיָּבֵ֤א H935 Wherefore David דָוִד֙ H1732 אֶת H853 their foreskins עָרְלֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם H6190 and they gave them in full tale וַיְמַלְא֣וּם H4390 that he might be the king's בַּמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 son in law לְהִתְחַתֵּ֖ן H2859 that he might be the king's בַּמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 gave וַיִּתֶּן H5414 ל֥וֹ H0 And Saul שָׁא֛וּל H7586 אֶת H853 him Michal מִיכַ֥ל H4324 his daughter בִּתּ֖וֹ H1323 to wife לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ H802 28 saw וַיַּ֤רְא H7200 And Saul שָׁא֖וּל H7586 and knew וַיֵּ֔דַע H3045 כִּ֥י H3588 that the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 עִם H5973 was with David דָּוִ֑ד H1732 and that Michal וּמִיכַ֥ל H4324 daughter בַּת H1323 And Saul שָׁא֖וּל H7586 loved אֲהֵבַֽתְהוּ׃ H157 29 was yet the more וַיֹּ֣אסֶף H3254 And Saul שָׁא֛וּל H7586 afraid לֵרֹ֛א H3372 of
