out וַיֵּֽצְא֥וּ H3318 into the field הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ H7704 And they went out וַיֵּֽצְא֥וּ H3318 both שְׁנֵיהֶ֖ם H8147 into the field הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ H7704 12 said וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 And Jonathan יְהֽוֹנָתָ֜ן H3083 אֶל H413 toward David דָּוִ֑ד H1732 O LORD יְהוָ֞ה H3068 God אֱלֹהֵ֤י H430 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 כִּֽי H3588 when I have sounded אֶחְקֹ֣ר H2713 אֶת H853 my father אָבִ֗י H1 any time כָּעֵ֤ת׀ H6256 about to morrow מָחָר֙ H4279 or the third הַשְּׁלִשִׁ֔ית H7992 וְהִנֵּה H2009 ט֖וֹב H2896 אֶל H413 toward David דָּוִ֑ד H1732 וְלֹא H3808 אָז֙ H227 and I then send אֶשְׁלַ֣ח H7971 אֵלֶ֔יךָ H413 not unto thee and shew וְגָלִ֖יתִי H1540 אֶת H853 אָזְנֶֽךָ׃ H241 13 so וְכֹ֣ה H3541 do יַעֲשֶׂה֩ H6213 The LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 to Jonathan לִיהֽוֹנָתָ֜ן H3083 so וְכֹ֣ה H3541 and much more יֹסִ֗יף H3254 כִּֽי H3588 but if it please יֵיטִ֨ב H3190 אֶל H413 be with thee as he hath been with my father אָבִֽי׃ H1 אֶת H853 to do thee evil הָֽרָעָה֙ H7451 עָלֶ֔יךָ H5921 then I will shew וְגָלִ֙יתִי֙ H1540 אֶת H853 אָזְנֶ֔ךָ H241 it thee and send thee away וְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֖יךָ H7971 that thou mayest go וְהָֽלַכְתָּ֣ H1980 in peace לְשָׁל֑וֹם H7965 וִיהִ֤י H1961 The LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 עִמָּ֔ךְ H5973 כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 הָיָ֖ה H1961 עִם H5973 be with thee as he hath been with my father אָבִֽי׃ H1 14 וְלֹ֖א H3808 And thou shalt not only while yet אִם H518 עוֹדֶ֣נִּי H5750 I live חָ֑י H2416 וְלֹֽא H3808 shew תַעֲשֶׂ֧ה H6213 עִמָּדִ֛י H5978 me the kindness חֶ֥סֶד H2617 of the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 וְלֹ֥א H3808 that I die אָמֽוּת׃ H4191 15 וְלֹֽא H3808 But also thou shalt not cut off בְּהַכְרִ֤ת H3772 אֶֽת H853 thy kindness חַסְדְּךָ֛ H2617 מֵעִ֥ם H5973 from my house בֵּיתִ֖י H1004 for עַד H5704 ever עוֹלָ֑ם H5769 וְלֹ֗א H3808 But also thou shalt not cut off בְּהַכְרִ֤ת H3772 no not when the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 אֶת H853 the enemies אֹֽיְבֵ֣י H341 of David דָוִ֔ד H1732 every one אִ֕ישׁ H376 מֵעַ֖ל H5921 from the face פְּנֵ֥י H6440 of the earth הָֽאֲדָמָֽה׃ H127 16 made וַיִּכְרֹ֥ת H3772 So Jonathan יְהֽוֹנָתָ֖ן H3083 עִם H5973 a covenant with the house בֵּ֣ית H1004 of David דָוִֽד׃ H1732 even require וּבִקֵּ֣שׁ H1245 saying Let the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 it at the hand מִיַּ֖ד H3027 enemies אֹֽיְבֵ֥י H341 of David דָוִֽד׃ H1732 17 again וַיּ֤וֹסֶף H3254 And Jonathan יְהֽוֹנָתָן֙ H3083 to swear לְהַשְׁבִּ֣יעַ H7650 אֶת H853 caused David דָּוִ֔ד H1732 because he loved אַהֲבַ֥ת H160 אֹת֑וֹ H853 כִּֽי H3588 because he loved אַהֲבַ֥ת H160 his own soul נַפְשׁ֖וֹ H5315 him for he loved אֲהֵבֽוֹ׃ H157 18 said וַיֹּֽאמֶר H559 ל֥וֹ H0 Then Jonathan יְהֽוֹנָתָ֖ן H3083 To morrow מָחָ֣ר H4279 is the new moon חֹ֑דֶשׁ H2320 and thou shalt be missed יִפָּקֵ֖ד H6485 כִּ֥י H3588 and thou shalt be missed יִפָּקֵ֖ד H6485 because thy seat מֽוֹשָׁבֶֽךָ׃ H4186 19 And when thou hast stayed three days וְשִׁלַּשְׁתָּ֙ H8027 then thou shalt go down תֵּרֵ֣ד H3381 quickly מְאֹ֔ד H3966 and come וּבָאתָ֙ H935 אֶל H413 to the place הַמָּק֔וֹם H4725 אֲשֶׁר H834 where thou didst hide נִסְתַּ֥רְתָּ H5641 שָּׁ֖ם H8033 thyself when בְּי֣וֹם H3117 the business הַֽמַּעֲשֶׂ֑ה H4639 was in hand and shalt remain וְיָ֣שַׁבְתָּ֔ H3427 by אֵ֖צֶל H681 the stone הָאֶ֥בֶן H68 Ezel הָאָֽזֶל׃ H237 20 וַֽאֲנִ֕י H589 three שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת H7969 arrows הַחִצִּ֖ים H2671 on the side צִדָּ֣ה H6654 And I will shoot אוֹרֶ֑ה H3384 thereof as though I shot לְשַֽׁלַּֽח H7971 לִ֖י H0 at a mark לְמַטָּרָֽה׃ H4307 21 וְהִנֵּה֙ H2009 And behold I will send אֶשְׁלַ֣ח H7971 אֶת H853 a lad לַנַּ֜עַר H5288 לֵ֖ךְ H1980 find out מְצָ֣א H4672 אֶת H853 Behold the arrows הַחִצִּ֣ים׀ H2671 אִם H518 If I expressly אֹמַ֨ר H559 If I expressly אֹמַ֨ר H559 a lad לַנַּ֜עַר H5288 הִנֵּ֥ה H2009 Behold the arrows הַחִצִּ֣ים׀ H2671 מִמְּךָ֣ H4480 וָהֵ֗נָּה H2008 are on this side of thee take קָחֶ֧נּוּ׀ H3947 them then come וָבֹ֛אָה H935 כִּֽי H3588 thou for there is peace שָׁל֥וֹם H7965 לְךָ֛ H0 וְאֵ֥ין H369 to thee and no hurt דָּבָ֖ר H1697 liveth חַי H2416 as the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 22 וְאִם H518 כֹּ֤ה H3541 But if I say אֹמַר֙ H559 thus unto the young man לָעֶ֔לֶם H5958 הִנֵּ֥ה H2009 Behold the arrows הַחִצִּ֖ים H2671 מִמְּךָ֣ H4480 are beyond וָהָ֑לְאָה H1973 לֵ֕ךְ H1980 כִּ֥י H3588 hath sent thee away שִֽׁלַּחֲךָ֖ H7971 for the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 23 And as touching the matter וְהַ֨דָּבָ֔ר H1697 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which thou and I have spoken דִּבַּ֖רְנוּ H1696 אֲנִ֣י H589 וָאָ֑תָּה H859 הִנֵּ֧ה H2009 of behold the LORD יְהוָ֛ה H3068 בֵּינִ֥י H996 וּבֵֽינְךָ֖ H996 be between thee and me for עַד H5704 ever עוֹלָֽם׃ H5769 24 hid וַיִּסָּתֵ֥ר H5641 So David דָּוִ֖ד H1732 himself in the field בַּשָּׂדֶ֑ה H7704 וַיְהִ֣י H1961 and when the new moon הַחֹ֔דֶשׁ H2320 sat him down וַיֵּ֧שֶׁב H3427 was come the king הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ H4428 עֶל H5921 meat הַלֶּ֖חֶם H3899 to eat לֶֽאֱכֽוֹל׃ H398 25 sat וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב H3427 And the king הַ֠מֶּלֶךְ H4428 עַל H5921 even upon a seat מוֹשַׁב֙ H4186 as at other times בְּפַ֗עַם H6471 as at other times בְּפַ֗עַם H6471 אֶל H413 even upon a seat מוֹשַׁב֙ H4186 by the wall הַקִּ֔יר H7023 arose וַיָּ֙קָם֙ H6965 and Jonathan יְה֣וֹנָתָ֔ן H3083 sat וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב H3427 and Abner אַבְנֵ֖ר H74 side מִצַּ֣ד H6654 by Saul's שָׁא֑וּל H7586 was empty וַיִּפָּקֵ֖ד H6485 place מְק֥וֹם H4725 and David's דָּוִֽד׃ H1732 26 וְלֹֽא H3808 spake דִבֶּ֥ר H1696 Nevertheless Saul שָׁא֛וּל H7586 not any thing מְא֖וּמָה H3972 that day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 הַה֑וּא H1931 כִּ֤י H3588 for he thought אָמַר֙ H559 Something hath befallen מִקְרֶ֣ה H4745 ה֔וּא H1931 him he is not בִּלְתִּ֥י H1115 clean טָהֽוֹר׃ H2889 ה֖וּא H1931 כִּֽי H3588 לֹ֥א H3808 clean טָהֽוֹר׃ H2889 27 וַיְהִ֗י H1961 And it came to pass on the morrow מִֽמָּחֳרַ֤ת H4283 day of the month הַחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ H2320 which was the second הַשֵּׁנִ֔י H8145 was empty וַיִּפָּקֵ֖ד H6485 place מְק֣וֹם H4725 that David's דָּוִ֑ד H1732 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 and Saul שָׁאוּל֙ H7586 אֶל H413 unto Jonathan יְהֽוֹנָתָ֣ן H3083 his son בֶן H1121 מַדּ֜וּעַ H4069 לֹא H3808 Wherefore cometh בָ֧א H935 his son בֶן H1121 of Jesse יִשַׁ֛י H3448 גַּם H1571 neither yesterday תְּמ֥וֹל H8543 גַּם H1571 nor to day הַיּ֖וֹם H3117 אֶל H413 to meat הַלָּֽחֶם׃ H3899 28 answered וַיַּ֥עַן H6030 And Jonathan יְהֽוֹנָתָ֖ן H3083 אֶת H853 Saul שָׁא֑וּל H7586 asked נִשְׁאַ֥ל H7592 asked נִשְׁאַ֥ל H7592 David דָּוִ֛ד H1732 leave of me מֵֽעִמָּדִ֖י H5978 עַד H5704 בֵּ֥ית H0 to go to Bethlehem לָֽחֶם׃ H1035 29 And he said וַיֹּ֡אמֶר H559 Let me go שַׁלְּחֵ֣נִי H7971 נָ֡א H4994 כִּ֣י H3588 hath a sacrifice זֶבַח֩ H2077 I pray thee for our family מִשְׁפָּחָ֨ה H4940 לָ֜נוּ H0 in the city בָּעִ֗יר H5892 וְה֤וּא H1931 he hath commanded צִוָּה H6680 לִי֙ H0 and my brother אֶחָ֑י H251 וְעַתָּ֗ה H6258 אִם H518 me to be there and now if I have found מָצָ֤אתִי H4672 favour חֵן֙ H2580 in thine eyes בְּעֵינֶ֔יךָ H5869 let me get away אִמָּ֥לְטָה H4422 נָּ֖א H4994 I pray thee and see וְאֶרְאֶ֣ה H7200 אֶת H853 and my brother אֶחָ֑י H251 עַל H5921 כֵּ֣ן H3651 לֹא H3808 Therefore he cometh בָ֔א H935 אֶל H413 table שֻׁלְחַ֖ן H7979 not unto the king's הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 30 was kindled וַיִּֽחַר H2734 anger אַ֤ף H639 Then Saul's שָׁאוּל֙ H7586 against Jonathan בִּיה֣וֹנָתָ֔ן H3083 and he said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 ל֔וֹ H0 the son לְבֶן H1121 of the perverse נַעֲוַ֖ת H5753 rebellious הַמַּרְדּ֑וּת H4780 הֲל֣וֹא H3808 woman do not I know יָדַ֗עְתִּי H3045 כִּֽי H3588 that thou hast chosen בֹחֵ֤ר H977 אַתָּה֙ H859 the son לְבֶן H1121 of Jesse יִשַׁ֔י H3448 and unto the confusion וּלְבֹ֖שֶׁת H1322 and unto the confusion וּלְבֹ֖שֶׁת H1322 nakedness עֶרְוַ֥ת H6172 of thy mother's אִמֶּֽךָ׃ H517 31 כִּ֣י H3588 כָל H3605 For as long as תִכּ֖וֹן H3559 אַתָּ֣ה H859 nor thy kingdom וּמַלְכוּתֶ֑ךָ H4438 וְעַתָּ֗ה H6258 Wherefore now send שְׁלַ֨ח H7971 and fetch וְקַ֤ח H3947 אֹתוֹ֙ H853 אֵלַ֔י H413 כִּ֥י H3588 him unto me for he shall לָ֥מָּה H4100 unto him Wherefore shall he be slain יוּמַ֖ת H4191 מֶ֥ה H4100 what hath he done עָשָֽׂה׃ H6213 33 cast וַיָּ֨טֶל H2904 And Saul שָׁא֧וּל H7586 אֶֽת H853 a javelin הַחֲנִ֛ית H2595 עָלָ֖יו H5921 at him to smite לְהַכֹּת֑וֹ H5221 knew וַיֵּ֙דַע֙ H3045 him whereby Jonathan יְה֣וֹנָתָ֔ן H3083 כִּי H3588 that it was determined כָ֥לָה H3617 הִ֛יא H1931 מֵעִ֥ם H5973 of his father אָבִ֖יו H1 to slay לְהָמִ֥ית H4191 אֶת H853 David דָּוִֽד׃ H1732 34 arose וַיָּ֧קָם H6965 So Jonathan יְהֽוֹנָתָ֛ן H3083 מֵעִ֥ם H5973 from the table הַשֻּׁלְחָ֖ן H7979 in fierce בָּֽחֳרִי H2750 anger אָ֑ף H639
