H7970 thousand אֶ֖לֶף H505 footmen רַגְלִֽי׃ H7273 11 And the ark וַֽאֲר֥וֹן H727 of God אֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 was taken נִלְקָ֑ח H3947 and the two וּשְׁנֵ֤י H8147 sons בְנֵֽי H1121 of Eli עֵלִי֙ H5941 were slain מֵ֔תוּ H4191 Hophni חָפְנִ֖י H2652 and Phinehas וּפִֽינְחָֽס׃ H6372 12 And there ran וַיָּ֤רָץ H7323 a man אִישׁ H376 of Benjamin בִּנְיָמִן֙ H1144 out of the army מֵהַמַּ֣עֲרָכָ֔ה H4634 and came וַיָּבֹ֥א H935 to Shiloh שִׁלֹ֖ה H7887 the same day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 הַה֑וּא H1931 with his clothes וּמַדָּ֣יו H4055 rent קְרֻעִ֔ים H7167 and with earth וַֽאֲדָמָ֖ה H127 עַל H5921 upon his head רֹאשֽׁוֹ׃ H7218 13 And when he came בָּ֚א H935 וְהִנֵּ֣ה H2009 lo Eli עֵ֠לִי H5941 sat יֹשֵׁ֨ב H3427 עַֽל H5921 upon a seat הַכִּסֵּ֜א H3678 יַ֥ד H5221 by the wayside דֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ H1870 watching מְצַפֶּ֔ה H6822 כִּֽי H3588 הָיָ֤ה H1961 for his heart לִבּוֹ֙ H3820 trembled חָרֵ֔ד H2730 עַ֖ל H5921 for the ark אֲר֣וֹן H727 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים H430 And when the man וְהָאִ֗ישׁ H376 And when he וְהָאִ֣ישׁ H376 in hastily מִהַ֔ר H4116 came וַיָּבֹ֖א H935 and told וַיַּגֵּ֥ד H5046 And when Eli לְעֵלִֽי׃ H5941 15 Now Eli וְעֵלִ֕י H5941 old בֶּן H1121 was ninety תִּשְׁעִ֥ים H8673 and eight וּשְׁמֹנֶ֖ה H8083 years שָׁנָ֑ה H8141 and his eyes וְעֵינָ֣יו H5869 were dim קָ֔מָה H6965 וְלֹ֥א H3808 that he could יָכ֖וֹל H3201 not see לִרְאֽוֹת׃ H7200 16 And he said וַיֹּ֛אמֶר H559 And the man הָאִ֜ישׁ H376 אֶל H413 unto Eli עֵלִ֗י H5941 אָֽנֹכִי֙ H595 I am he that came הַבָּ֣א H935 מִן H4480 out of the army הַמַּֽעֲרָכָ֖ה H4634 וַֽאֲנִ֕י H589 מִן H4480 out of the army הַמַּֽעֲרָכָ֖ה H4634 and I fled נַ֣סְתִּי H5127 to day הַיּ֑וֹם H3117 And he said וַיֹּ֛אמֶר H559 מֶֽה H4100 הָיָ֥ה H1961 What is there done הַדָּבָ֖ר H1697 my son בְּנִֽי׃ H1121 17 answered וַיַּ֨עַן H6030 And the messenger הַֽמְבַשֵּׂ֜ר H1319 and said וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 is fled נָ֤ס H5127 Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 before לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 the Philistines פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים H6430 וְגַ֛ם H1571 slaughter מַגֵּפָ֥ה H4046 and there hath been also a great גְדוֹלָ֖ה H1419 הָֽיְתָ֣ה H1961 among the people בָעָ֑ם H5971 וְגַם H1571 and thy two שְׁנֵ֨י H8147 sons בָנֶ֜יךָ H1121 are dead מֵ֗תוּ H4191 also Hophni חָפְנִי֙ H2652 and Phinehas וּפִ֣ינְחָ֔ס H6372 and the ark וַֽאֲר֥וֹן H727 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 is taken נִלְקָֽחָה׃ H3947 18 וַיְהִ֞י H1961 And it came to pass when he made mention כְּהַזְכִּיר֣וֹ׀ H2142 אֶת H853 of the ark אֲר֣וֹן H727 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֗ים H430 that he fell וַיִּפֹּ֣ל H5307 מֵֽעַל H5921 from off the seat הַ֠כִּסֵּא H3678 backward אֲחֹ֨רַנִּ֜ית H322 by בְּעַ֣ד׀ H1157 the side יַ֣ד H3027 of the gate הַשַּׁ֗עַר H8179 brake וַתִּשָּׁבֵ֤ר H7665 and his neck מַפְרַקְתּוֹ֙ H4665 and he died וַיָּמֹ֔ת H4191 כִּֽי H3588 for he was an old זָקֵ֥ן H2204 man הָאִ֖ישׁ H376 וְכָבֵ֑ד H3515 וְה֛וּא H1931 And he had judged שָׁפַ֥ט H8199 אֶת H853 Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 forty אַרְבָּעִ֥ים H705 years שָׁנָֽה׃ H8141 19 And his daughter in law וְכַלָּת֣וֹ H3618 wife אֵשֶׁת H802 Phinehas פִּֽינְחָס֮ H6372 was with child הָרָ֣ה H2030 herself and travailed וַתֵּ֔לֶד H3205 and when she heard וַתִּשְׁמַ֣ע H8085 אֶת H853 the tidings הַשְּׁמוּעָ֔ה H8052 that אֶל H413 was taken הִלָּקַח֙ H3947 the ark אֲר֣וֹן H727 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים H430 were dead וּמֵ֥ת H4191 and that her father in law חָמִ֖יהָ H2524 and her husband וְאִישָׁ֑הּ H376 she bowed וַתִּכְרַ֣ע H3766 herself and travailed וַתֵּ֔לֶד H3205 כִּֽי H3588 came נֶהֶפְכ֥וּ H2015 עָלֶ֖יהָ H5921 for her pains צִרֶֽיהָ׃ H6735 20 And about the time וּכְעֵ֣ת H6256 of her death מוּתָ֗הּ H4191 by her said וַתְּדַבֵּ֙רְנָה֙ H1696 the women that stood הַנִּצָּב֣וֹת H5324 עָלֶ֔יהָ H5921 אַל H408 unto her Fear תִּֽירְאִ֖י H3372 כִּ֣י H3588 a son בֵ֣ן H1121 not for thou hast born יָלָ֑דְתְּ H3205 וְלֹ֥א H3808 But she answered עָֽנְתָ֖ה H6030 וְלֹא H3808 not neither did she regard שָׁ֥תָה H7896 לִבָּֽהּ׃ H3820 21 And she named וַתִּקְרָ֣א H7121 the child לַנַּ֗עַר H5288 אִֽי H0 Ichabod כָבוֹד֙ H350 saying לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 is departed גָּלָ֥ה H1540 The glory כָב֖וֹד H3519 from Israel מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 because וְאֶל H413 was taken הִלָּקַח֙ H3947 the ark אֲר֣וֹן H727 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים H430 because וְאֶל H413 and because of her father
