and in the cities וּבְעָרֵ֣י H5892 of Judah יְהוּדָ֔ה H3063 in all the fenced הַבְּצֻר֑וֹת H1219 And he placed וַיִּתֵּ֤ן H5414 garrisons נְצִיבִים֙ H5333 in the land בְּאֶ֣רֶץ H776 of Judah יְהוּדָ֔ה H3063 and in the cities וּבְעָרֵ֣י H5892 of Ephraim אֶפְרַ֔יִם H669 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 had taken לָכַ֖ד H3920 which Asa אָסָ֥א H609 his father אָבִֽיו׃ H1 3 וַיְהִ֥י H1961 And the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 עִם H5973 was with Jehoshaphat יְהֽוֹשָׁפָ֑ט H3092 כִּ֣י H3588 because he walked הָלַ֗ךְ H1980 ways בְּדַרְכֵ֞י H1870 David דָּוִ֤יד H1732 of his father אָבִיו֙ H1 in the first הָרִ֣אשֹׁנִ֔ים H7223 וְלֹ֥א H3808 and sought דָרַ֖שׁ H1875 not unto Baalim לַבְּעָלִֽים׃ H1168 4 כִּ֠י H3588 to the LORD God לֵֽאלֹהֵ֤י H430 of his father אָבִיו֙ H1 But sought דָּרָ֔שׁ H1875 in his commandments וּבְמִצְוֹתָ֖יו H4687 and walked הָלָ֑ךְ H1980 וְלֹ֖א H3808 and not after the doings כְּמַֽעֲשֵׂ֥ה H4639 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 5 stablished וַיָּ֨כֶן H3559 Therefore the LORD יְהוָ֤ה H3068 אֶת H853 the kingdom הַמַּמְלָכָה֙ H4467 in his hand בְּיָד֔וֹ H3027 brought וַיִּתְּנ֧וּ H5414 כָל H3605 and all Judah יְהוּדָ֛ה H3063 presents מִנְחָ֖ה H4503 to Jehoshaphat לִיהֽוֹשָׁפָ֑ט H3092 וַיְהִי H1961 ל֥וֹ H0 and he had riches עֹֽשֶׁר H6239 and honour וְכָב֖וֹד H3519 in abundance לָרֹֽב׃ H7230 6 was lifted up וַיִּגְבַּ֥הּ H1361 And his heart לִבּ֖וֹ H3820 in the ways בְּדַרְכֵ֣י H1870 of the LORD יְהוָ֑ה H3068 וְע֗וֹד H5750 moreover he took away הֵסִ֛יר H5493 אֶת H853 the high places הַבָּמ֥וֹת H1116 וְאֶת H853 and groves הָֽאֲשֵׁרִ֖ים H842 out of Judah מִֽיהוּדָֽה׃ H3063 7 year וּבִשְׁנַ֨ת H8141 Also in the third שָׁל֜וֹשׁ H7969 of his reign לְמָלְכ֗וֹ H4427 he sent שָׁלַ֤ח H7971 to his princes לְשָׂרָיו֙ H8269 לְבֶן H0 even to Benhail חַ֙יִל֙ H1134 and to Obadiah וּלְעֹֽבַדְיָ֣ה H5662 and to Zechariah וְלִזְכַרְיָ֔ה H2148 and to Nethaneel וְלִנְתַנְאֵ֖ל H5417 and to Michaiah וּלְמִֽיכָיָ֑הוּ H4322 to teach לְלַמֵּ֖ד H3925 in the cities בְּעָרֵ֥י H5892 of Judah יְהוּדָֽה׃ H3063 8 וְעִמָּהֶ֣ם H5973 And with them he sent Levites הַלְוִיִּ֑ם H3881 even Shemaiah שְֽׁמַעְיָ֡הוּ H8098 and Nethaniah וּנְתַנְיָ֡הוּ H5418 and Zebadiah וּזְבַדְיָ֡הוּ H2069 and Asahel וַֽעֲשָׂהאֵ֡ל H6214 and Shemiramoth וּשְׁמִֽריָמ֡וֹת H8070 and Jehonathan וִיהֽוֹנָתָן֩ H3083 and Adonijah וַאֲדֹ֨נִיָּ֧הוּ H138 and Tobijah וְטֽוֹבִיָּ֛הוּ H2900 וְט֥וֹב H0 and Tobadonijah אֲדֽוֹנִיָּ֖ה H2899 And with them he sent Levites הַלְוִיִּ֑ם H3881 וְעִמָּהֶ֛ם H5973 and with them Elishama אֱלִֽישָׁמָ֥ע H476 and Jehoram וִֽיהוֹרָ֖ם H3088 priests הַכֹּֽהֲנִֽים׃ H3548 9 And they taught וַֽיְלַמְּד֖וּ H3925 in Judah יְהוּדָ֔ה H3063 וְעִ֨מָּהֶ֔ם H5973 and had the book סֵ֖פֶר H5612 of the law תּוֹרַ֣ת H8451 of the LORD יְהוָ֑ה H3068 with them and went about וַיָּסֹ֙בּוּ֙ H5437 בְּכָל H3605 throughout all the cities עָרֵ֣י H5892 in Judah יְהוּדָ֔ה H3063 And they taught וַֽיְלַמְּד֖וּ H3925 the people בָּעָֽם׃ H5971 10 וַיְהִ֣י׀ H1961 And the fear פַּ֣חַד H6343 of the LORD יְהוָ֗ה H3068 עַ֚ל H5921 כָּל H3605 fell upon all the kingdoms מַמְלְכ֣וֹת H4467 of the lands הָֽאֲרָצ֔וֹת H776 אֲשֶׁ֖ר H834 that were round about סְבִיב֣וֹת H5439 Judah יְהוּדָ֑ה H3063 וְלֹ֥א H3808 so that they made no war נִלְחֲמ֖וּ H3898 עִם H5973 against Jehoshaphat יְהֽוֹשָׁפָֽט׃ H3092 11 וּמִן H4480 Also some of the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּ֗ים H6430 brought מְבִיאִ֥ים H935 Jehoshaphat לִיהֽוֹשָׁפָ֛ט H3092 presents מִנְחָ֖ה H4503 silver וְכֶ֣סֶף H3701 and tribute מַשָּׂ֑א H4853 גַּ֣ם H1571 and the Arabians הָֽעַרְבִיאִ֗ים H6163 brought מְבִיאִ֥ים H935 לוֹ֙ H0 him flocks צֹ֕אן H6629 rams אֵילִ֔ים H352 and seven וּשְׁבַ֥ע H7651 thousand אֲלָפִ֖ים H505 and seven וּשְׁבַ֥ע H7651 hundred מֵאֽוֹת׃ H3967 he goats וּתְיָשִׁ֕ים H8495 and seven וּשְׁבַ֥ע H7651 thousand אֲלָפִ֖ים H505 and seven וּשְׁבַ֥ע H7651 hundred מֵאֽוֹת׃ H3967 12 וַיְהִ֧י H1961 And Jehoshaphat יְהֽוֹשָׁפָ֛ט H3092 waxed הֹלֵ֥ךְ H1980 great וְגָדֵ֖ל H1432 עַד H5704 exceedingly לְמָ֑עְלָה H4605 and he built וַיִּ֧בֶן H1129 in Judah בִּֽיהוּדָ֛ה H3063 castles בִּירָֽנִיּ֖וֹת H1003 and cities וְעָרֵ֥י H5892 of store מִסְכְּנֽוֹת׃ H4543 13 business וּמְלָאכָ֥ה H4399 And he had much רַבָּ֛ה H7227 הָ֥יָה H1961 ל֖וֹ H0 in the cities בְּעָרֵ֣י H5892 of Judah יְהוּדָ֑ה H3063 וְאַנְשֵׁ֧י H376 of war מִלְחָמָ֛ה H4421 mighty men גִּבּ֥וֹרֵי H1368 of valour חַ֖יִל H2428 were in Jerusalem בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ H3389 14 וְאֵ֥לֶּה H428 And these are the numbers פְקֻדָּתָ֖ם H6486 of them according to the house לְבֵ֣ית H1004 of their fathers אֲבֽוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם H1 Of Judah לִֽיהוּדָה֙ H3063 the captains הַשָּׂ֔ר H8269 of thousands אָֽלֶף׃ H505 Adnah עַדְנָ֣ה H5734 the captains הַשָּׂ֔ר H8269 וְעִמּוֹ֙ H5973 and with him mighty men גִּבּ֣וֹרֵי H1368 of valour חַ֔יִל H2428 three שְׁלֹ֥שׁ H7969 hundred מֵא֖וֹת H3967 of thousands אָֽלֶף׃ H505 15 וְעַל H5921 And next יָד֖וֹ H3027 to him was Jehohanan יְהֽוֹחָנָ֣ן H3076 the captain הַשָּׂ֑ר H8269 וְעִמּ֕וֹ H5973 and with him two hundred מָאתַ֥יִם H3967 and fourscore וּשְׁמוֹנִ֖ים H8084 thousand אָֽלֶף׃ H505 16 וְעַל H5921 And next יָדוֹ֙ H3027 him was Amasiah עֲמַסְיָ֣ה H6007 the son בֶן H1121 of Zichri זִכְרִ֔י H2147 who willingly offered הַמִּתְנַדֵּ֖ב H5068 himself unto the LORD לַֽיהוָ֑ה H3068 וְעִמּ֛וֹ H5973 and with him two hundred מָאתַ֥יִם H3967 thousand אֶ֖לֶף H505 mighty men גִּבּ֥וֹר H1368 of valour חָֽיִל׃ H2428 17 וּמִ֨ן H4480 And of Benjamin בִּנְיָמִ֔ן H1144 a mighty man גִּבּ֥וֹר H1368 of valour חַ֖יִל H2428 Eliada אֶלְיָדָ֑ע H450 וְעִמּ֛וֹ H5973 and with him armed men נֹֽשְׁקֵי H5401 with bow קֶ֥שֶׁת H7198 and shield וּמָגֵ֖ן H4043 two hundred מָאתַ֥יִם H3967 thousand אָֽלֶף׃ H505 18 וְעַל H5921 And next יָד֖וֹ H3027 him was Jehozabad יְהֽוֹזָבָ֑ד H3075 וְעִמּ֛וֹ H5973 and with him an hundred מֵאָֽה H3967 and fourscore וּשְׁמוֹנִ֥ים H8084 thousand אֶ֖לֶף H505 ready prepared חֲלוּצֵ֥י H2502 for the war צָבָֽא׃ H6635 19 אֵ֖לֶּה H428 These waited הַמְשָֽׁרְתִ֣ים H8334 אֶת H853 beside those whom the king הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ H4428 מִלְּבַ֞ד H905 אֲשֶׁר H834 put
