יְהוּדָ֖ה H3063 and Benjamin וּבִנְיָמִ֑ן H1144 and he numbered וַֽיִּפְקְדֵ֗ם H6485 old לְמִבֶּ֨ן H1121 them from twenty עֶשְׂרִ֤ים H6242 years שָׁנָה֙ H8141 and above וָמַ֔עְלָה H4605 and found וַיִּמְצָאֵ֗ם H4672 them three שְׁלֹשׁ H7969 hundred מֵא֨וֹת H3967 over thousands אֶ֤לֶף H505 choice בָּחוּר֙ H977 men able to go forth יוֹצֵ֣א H3318 to war צָבָ֔א H6635 that could handle אֹחֵ֖ז H270 spear רֹ֥מַח H7420 and shield וְצִנָּֽה׃ H6793 6 He hired וַיִּשְׂכֹּ֣ר H7936 out of Israel מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֗ל H3478 also an hundred בְּמֵאָ֥ה H3967 thousand אֶ֛לֶף H505 mighty גִּבּ֥וֹר H1368 men of valour חָ֖יִל H2428 also an hundred בְּמֵאָ֥ה H3967 talents כִכַּר H3603 of silver כָּֽסֶף׃ H3701 7 a man וְאִ֣ישׁ H376 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֗ים H430 But there came יָב֥וֹא H935 אֵלָיו֙ H413 to him saying לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 O king הַמֶּ֕לֶךְ H4428 אַל H408 But there came יָב֥וֹא H935 עִמְּךָ֖ H5973 let not the army צְבָ֣א H6635 is not with Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 כִּ֣י H3588 אֵ֤ין H369 with thee for the the man אִ֣ישׁ H376 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים H430 וּמַֽה H4100 But what shall we do לַּעֲשׂוֹת֙ H6213 for the hundred לִמְאַ֣ת H3967 talents הַכִּכָּ֔ר H3603 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 able to give לָ֥תֶת H5414 to the army לִגְד֣וּד H1416 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 answered וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 And the man אִ֣ישׁ H376 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים H430 is יֵ֚שׁ H3426 The LORD לַֽיהוָ֔ה H3068 able to give לָ֥תֶת H5414 לְךָ֖ H0 thee much more הַרְבֵּ֥ה H7235 מִזֶּֽה׃ H2088 10 separated וַיַּבְדִּילֵ֣ם H914 Then Amaziah אֲמַצְיָ֗הוּ H558 them to wit the army לְהַגְּדוּד֙ H1416 אֲשֶׁר H834 that was come בָּ֤א H935 אֵלָיו֙ H413 to him out of Ephraim מֵֽאֶפְרַ֔יִם H669 again לָלֶ֖כֶת H3212 home לִמְקוֹמָ֖ם H4725 kindled וַיִּ֨חַר H2734 anger אָֽף׃ H639 was greatly מְאֹד֙ H3966 against Judah בִּֽיהוּדָ֔ה H3063 and they returned וַיָּשׁ֥וּבוּ H7725 home לִמְקוֹמָ֖ם H4725 in great בָּֽחֳרִי H2750 anger אָֽף׃ H639 11 And Amaziah וַֽאֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙ H558 strengthened הִתְחַזַּ֔ק H2388 himself and led forth וַיִּנְהַג֙ H5090 אֶת H853 his people עַמּ֔וֹ H5971 וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ H1980 to the valley גֵּ֣יא H1516 of salt הַמֶּ֑לַח H4417 and smote וַיַּ֥ךְ H5221 אֶת H853 of the children בְּנֵֽי H1121 of Seir שֵׂעִ֖יר H8165 ten עֲשֶׂ֥רֶת H6235 thousand אֲלָפִֽים׃ H505 12 And other ten וַֽעֲשֶׂ֨רֶת H6235 thousand אֲלָפִ֜ים H505 left alive חַיִּ֗ים H2416 carry away captive שָׁבוּ֙ H7617 did the children בְּנֵ֣י H1121 of Judah יְהוּדָ֔ה H3063 and brought וַיְבִיא֖וּם H935 from the top מֵֽרֹאשׁ H7218 of the rock הַסֶּ֖לַע H5553 and cast them down וַיַּשְׁלִיכ֛וּם H7993 from the top מֵֽרֹאשׁ H7218 of the rock הַסֶּ֖לַע H5553 וְכֻלָּ֥ם H3605 that they all were broken in pieces נִבְקָֽעוּ׃ H1234 13 But the soldiers וּבְנֵ֣י H1121 of the army הַגְּד֗וּד H1416 אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 sent back הֵשִׁ֤יב H7725 which Amaziah אֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙ H558 that they should not go מִלֶּ֤כֶת H3212 עִמּוֹ֙ H5973 with him to battle לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה H4421 fell וַֽיִּפְשְׁטוּ֙ H6584 upon the cities בְּעָרֵ֣י H5892 of Judah יְהוּדָ֔ה H3063 from Samaria מִשֹּֽׁמְר֖וֹן H8111 וְעַד H5704 בֵּ֣ית H0 even unto Bethhoron חוֹר֑וֹן H1032 and smote וַיַּכּ֤וּ H5221 מֵהֶם֙ H1992 three שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת H7969 thousand אֲלָפִ֔ים H505 of them and took וַיָּבֹ֖זּוּ H962 spoil בִּזָּ֥ה H961 much רַבָּֽה׃ H7227 14 וַיְהִ֗י H1961 Now it came to pass after אַֽחֲרֵ֨י H310 that he brought וַיָּבֵ֗א H935 that Amaziah אֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙ H558 from the slaughter מֵֽהַכּ֣וֹת H5221 אֶת H853 of the Edomites אֲדוֹמִ֔ים H130 that he brought וַיָּבֵ֗א H935 אֶת H853 the gods לֵֽאלֹהִ֑ים H430 of the children בְּנֵ֣י H1121 of Seir שֵׂעִ֔יר H8165 and set them up וַיַּֽעֲמִידֵ֥ם H5975 ל֖וֹ H0 the gods לֵֽאלֹהִ֑ים H430 himself before וְלִפְנֵיהֶ֥ם H6440 and bowed down יִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֖ה H7812 וְלָהֶ֥ם H0 them and burned incense יְקַטֵּֽר׃ H6999 15 was kindled וַיִּֽחַר H2734 Wherefore the anger אַ֥ף H639 of the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 against Amaziah בַּֽאֲמַצְיָ֑הוּ H558 and he sent וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח H7971 אֵלָיו֙ H413 unto him a prophet נָבִ֔יא H5030 which said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 ל֗וֹ H0 לָ֤מָּה H4100 unto him Why hast thou sought דָרַ֙שְׁתָּ֙ H1875 אֶת H853 after the gods אֱלֹהֵ֣י H430 of the people עַמָּ֖ם H5971 אֲשֶׁ֛ר H834 לֹֽא H3808 which could not deliver הִצִּ֥ילוּ H5337 אֶת H853 of the people עַמָּ֖ם H5971 out of thine hand מִיָּדֶֽךָ׃ H3027 16 וַיְהִ֣י׀ H1961 And it came to pass as he talked בְּדַבְּר֣וֹ H1696 אֵלָ֗יו H413 and said וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 לוֹ֙ H0 counsel יָעַ֤ץ H3289 of the king's לַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 unto him Art thou made נְתַנּ֔וּךָ H5414 forbare וַיֶּחְדַּ֣ל H2308 לְךָ֖ H0 לָ֣מָּה H4100 why shouldest thou be smitten יַכּ֑וּךָ H5221 forbare וַיֶּחְדַּ֣ל H2308 Then the prophet הַנָּבִ֗יא H5030 and said וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 I know יָדַ֗עְתִּי H3045 כִּֽי H3588 counsel יָעַ֤ץ H3289 that God אֱלֹהִים֙ H430 to destroy לְהַשְׁחִיתֶ֔ךָ H7843 כִּֽי H3588 thee because thou hast done עָשִׂ֣יתָ H6213 זֹּ֔את H2063 וְלֹ֥א H3808 this and hast not hearkened שָׁמַ֖עְתָּ H8085 unto my counsel לַֽעֲצָתִֽי׃ H6098 17 took advice וַיִּוָּעַ֗ץ H3289 Then Amaziah אֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙ H558 king מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 of Judah יְהוּדָ֔ה H3063 and sent וַ֠יִּשְׁלַח H7971 אֶל H413 to Joash יוֹאָ֨שׁ H3101 the son בֶּן H1121 of Jehoahaz יְהֽוֹאָחָ֧ז H3059 the son בֶּן H1121 of Jehu יֵה֛וּא H3058 king מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 saying לֵאמֹ֑ר H559 Come לְךָ֖ H3212 let us see one another נִתְרָאֶ֥ה H7200 in the face פָנִֽים׃ H6440 18 sent שָׁ֠לַח H7971 And Joash יוֹאָ֣שׁ H3101 king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל H3478 אֶל H413 to Amaziah אֲמַצְיָ֣הוּ H558 king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Judah יְהוּדָה֮ H3063 saying לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 The thistle הַחֽוֹחַ׃ H2336 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 that was in Lebanon בַּלְּבָנ֔וֹן H3844 sent שָׁ֠לַח H7971 אֶל H413 to the cedar הָאֶ֜רֶז H730 אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 that was in Lebanon בַּלְּבָנ֔וֹן H3844 saying לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 Give תְּנָֽה H5414 אֶת H853 thy daughter בִּתְּךָ֥ H1323 to my son לִבְנִ֖י H1121 to wife לְאִשָּׁ֑ה H802 and there passed by וַֽתַּעֲבֹ֞ר H5674 beast חַיַּ֤ת H2416 a wild הַשָּׂדֶה֙ H7704 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 that was in Lebanon בַּלְּבָנ֔וֹן H3844 and trode down וַתִּרְמֹ֖ס H7429 אֶת H853 The thistle הַחֽוֹחַ׃ H2336 19 Thou sayest אָמַ֗רְתָּ H559 הִנֵּ֤ה H2009 Lo thou hast smitten הִכִּ֙יתָ֙ H5221 אֶת H853 the Edomites אֱד֔וֹם H123 lifteth thee up וּנְשָֽׂאֲךָ֥ H5375 and thine heart לִבְּךָ֖ H3820 to boast לְהַכְבִּ֑יד H3513 עַתָּה֙ H6258 abide שְׁבָ֣ה H3427 now at home בְּבֵיתֶ֔ךָ H1004 לָ֤מָּה H4100 why shouldest thou meddle תִתְגָּרֶה֙ H1624 to thine hurt בְּרָעָ֔ה H7451 that thou shouldest fall וְנָ֣פַלְתָּ֔ H5307 אַתָּ֖ה H859 even thou and Judah וִֽיהוּדָ֥ה H3063 עִמָּֽךְ׃ H5973 20 וְלֹֽא H3808 would not hear שָׁמַ֣ע H8085 But Amaziah אֲמַצְיָ֔הוּ H558 כִּ֤י H3588 after the gods אֱלֹהֵ֥י H430 הִ֔יא H1931 לְמַ֖עַן H4616 that he might deliver תִּתָּ֣ם H5414 them into the hand בְּיָ֑ד H3027 כִּ֣י H3588 of their enemies because they sought דָֽרְשׁ֔וּ H1875 אֵ֖ת H853 after the gods אֱלֹהֵ֥י H430 of Edom אֱדֽוֹם׃ H123 21 went up וַיַּ֨עַל H5927 So Joash יוֹאָ֤שׁ H3101 king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 and they saw one another וַיִּתְרָא֣וּ H7200 in the face פָנִ֔ים H6440 ה֖וּא H1931 both he and Amaziah וַֽאֲמַצְיָ֣הוּ H558 king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Judah לִֽיהוּדָֽה׃ H3063 בְּבֵ֥ית H0 at Bethshemesh שֶׁ֖מֶשׁ H1053 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 of Judah לִֽיהוּדָֽה׃ H3063 22 was put to the worse וַיִּנָּ֥גֶף H5062 And Judah יְהוּדָ֖ה H3063 before לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 and they fled וַיָּנֻ֖סוּ H5127 every man אִ֥ישׁ H376 to his tent לְאֹֽהָלָֽיו׃ H168 23 וְאֵת֩ H853 Amaziah אֲמַצְיָ֨הוּ H558 king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Judah יְהוּדָ֜ה H3063 the son בֶּן H1121 And Joash and brought וַיְבִיאֵ֙הוּ֙ H935 him to Jerusalem יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֗ם H3389 and brake down וַיִּפְרֹ֞ץ H6555 the wall בְּחוֹמַ֣ת H2346 him to Jerusalem יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֗ם H3389 from the gate שַׁ֣עַר H8179 of עֹבֵ֣ד H0 with Obededom אֱד֗וֹם H5654 וְאֶת H853 and the treasures אֹצְרוֹת֙ H214 house בֵּ֣ית H1004 of the king's הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 וְאֵ֖ת H853 the hostages בְּנֵ֣י H1121 הַתַּֽעֲרֻב֑וֹת H8594 also they not written כְּתוּבִ֔ים H3789 עַל H5921 in the book סֵ֥פֶר H5612 of the kings מַלְכֵי H4428 of Judah יְהוּדָ֖ה H3063 and Israel וְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 27 Now after the time וּמֵעֵ֗ת H6256 אֲשֶׁר H834 did turn away סָ֤ר H5493 that Amaziah אֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙ H558 after אַֽחֲרָיו֙ H310 the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 they made וַיִּקְשְׁר֨וּ H7194 עָלָ֥יו H5921 a conspiracy קֶ֛שֶׁר H7195 against him in Jerusalem בִּירֽוּשָׁלִַ֖ם H3389 and he fled וַיָּ֣נָס H5127 to Lachish לָכִ֔ישָׁה H3923 but they sent וַיִּשְׁלְח֤וּ H7971 after אַֽחֲרָיו֙ H310 to Lachish לָכִ֔ישָׁה H3923 him and slew וַיְמִיתֻ֖הוּ H4191 שָֽׁם׃ H8033 28 And they brought וַיִּשָּׂאֻ֖הוּ H5375 עַל H5921 him upon horses הַסּוּסִ֑ים H5483 and buried וַֽיִּקְבְּר֥וּ H6912 אֹת֛וֹ H853 עִם H5973 him with his fathers אֲבֹתָ֖יו H1 in the
