בִֽיהוּדָ֗ה H3063 and encamped וַיִּ֙חַן֙ H2583 עַל H5921 cities הֶֽעָרִ֣ים H5892 against the fenced הַבְּצֻר֔וֹת H1219 and thought וַיֹּ֖אמֶר H559 to win לְבִקְעָ֥ם H1234 אֵלָֽיו׃ H413 2 saw his servants עֲבָדָיו֙ H5650 that were at Jerusalem בִּירֽוּשָׁלִַ֖ם H3389 וְהוּא֙ H1931 עַל H5921 but he himself laid siege against Lachish לָכִ֔ישׁ H3923 וְכָל H3605 and all his power מֶמְשַׁלְתּ֖וֹ H4475 עִמּ֑וֹ H5973 עַל H5921 with him unto Hezekiah יְחִזְקִיָּ֙הוּ֙ H3169 king מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 and unto all Judah יְהוּדָ֛ה H3063 וְעַל H5921 כָּל H3605 and unto all Judah יְהוּדָ֛ה H3063 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 that were at Jerusalem בִּירֽוּשָׁלִַ֖ם H3389 saying לֵאמֹֽר׃ H559 10 כֹּ֣ה H3541 Thus saith אָמַ֔ר H559 Sennacherib סַנְחֵרִ֖יב H5576 king מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 of Assyria אַשּׁ֑וּר H804 עַל H5921 מָה֙ H4100 אַתֶּ֣ם H859 Whereon do ye trust בֹּֽטְחִ֔ים H982 that ye abide וְיֹֽשְׁבִ֥ים H3427 in the siege בְּמָצ֖וֹר H4692 in Jerusalem בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ H3389 11 הֲלֹ֤א H3808 Doth not Hezekiah יְחִזְקִיָּ֙הוּ֙ H3169 persuade מַסִּ֣ית H5496 אֶתְכֶ֔ם H853 you to give לָתֵ֣ת H5414 אֶתְכֶ֔ם H853 over yourselves to die לָמ֛וּת H4191 by famine בְּרָעָ֥ב H7458 and by thirst וּבְצָמָ֖א H6772 saying H1931 Hath not the same Hezekiah יְחִזְקִיָּ֔הוּ H3169 taken away הֵסִ֥יר H5493 אֶת H853 his high places בָּֽמֹתָ֖יו H1116 וְאֶת H853 altar מִזְבֵּ֧חַ H4196 and commanded לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 Judah לִֽיהוּדָ֤ה H3063 and Jerusalem וְלִירֽוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ H3389 and commanded לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 before לִפְנֵ֨י H6440 altar מִזְבֵּ֧חַ H4196 one אֶחָ֛ד H259 Ye shall worship תִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֖וּ H7812 וְעָלָ֥יו H5921 and burn incense תַּקְטִֽירוּ׃ H6999 13 הֲלֹ֣א H3808 Know תֵֽדְע֗וּ H3045 מֶ֤ה H4100 have done עָשִׂ֙יתִי֙ H6213 אֲנִ֣י H589 ye not what I and my fathers וַֽאֲבוֹתַ֔י H1 לְכֹ֖ל H3605 unto all the אֶת H853 of other lands אַרְצָ֖ם H776 out of mine hand מִיָּדִֽי׃ H3027 14 מִ֠י H4310 בְּֽכָל H3605 Who was there among all the gods אֱלֹ֣הֵיכֶ֔ם H430 of those nations הַגּוֹיִ֤ם H1471 הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ H428 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 utterly destroyed הֶֽחֱרִ֣ימוּ H2763 that my fathers אֲבוֹתַ֔י H1 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 should be able יוּכַל֙ H3201 deliver לְהַצִּ֥יל H5337 אֶת H853 his people עַמּ֖וֹ H5971 out of mine hand your God אֱֽלֹהֵיכֶ֔ם H430 Now therefore let not לֹֽא H3808 deliver יַצִּ֥ילוּ H5337 אֶתְכֶ֖ם H853 and out of the hand מִיָּדִֽי׃ H3027 16 וְעוֹד֙ H5750 spake דִּבְּר֣וּ H1696 And his servants עַבְדּֽוֹ׃ H5650 עַל H5921 yet more against the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים H430 וְעַ֖ל H5921 Hezekiah יְחִזְקִיָּ֥הוּ H3169 And his servants עַבְדּֽוֹ׃ H5650 17 also letters וּסְפָרִ֣ים H5612 He wrote כָּתַ֔ב H3789 to rail לְחָרֵ֕ף H2778 on the LORD לַֽיהוָ֖ה H3068 As the gods אֱלֹהֵ֧י H430 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 against him saying לֵאמֹ֗ר H559 עָלָ֜יו H5921 against him saying לֵאמֹ֗ר H559 As the gods אֱלֹהֵ֧י H430 of the nations גּוֹיֵ֤י H1471 of other lands הָֽאֲרָצוֹת֙ H776 אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 לֹֽא H3808 deliver יַצִּ֞יל H5337 his people עַמּ֖וֹ H5971 out of mine hand מִיָּדִֽי׃ H3027 H7121 voice בְקוֹל H6963 with a loud גָּד֜וֹל H1419 in the Jews' speech יְהוּדִ֗ית H3066 עַל H5921 unto the people עַ֤ם H5971 of Jerusalem יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ H3389 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 עַל H5921 that were on the wall הַֽחוֹמָ֔ה H2346 to affright לְיָֽרְאָ֖ם H3372 them and to trouble וּֽלְבַהֲלָ֑ם H926 לְמַ֖עַן H4616 them that they might take יִלְכְּד֥וּ H3920 אֶת H853 the city הָעִֽיר׃ H5892 19 And they spake וַֽיְדַבְּר֔וּ H1696 אֶל H413 as against the gods אֱלֹהֵי֙ H430 of Jerusalem יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם H3389 against כְּעַ֗ל H5921 as against the gods אֱלֹהֵי֙ H430 of the people עַמֵּ֣י H5971 of the earth הָאָ֔רֶץ H776 which were the work מַֽעֲשֵׂ֖ה H4639 of the hands יְדֵ֥י H3027 of man הָֽאָדָֽם׃ H120 20 prayed וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֞ל H6419 And for this cause Hezekiah יְחִזְקִיָּ֣הוּ H3169 the king הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ H4428 Isaiah וִֽישַׁעְיָ֧הוּ H3470 the son בֶן H1121 of Amoz אָמ֛וֹץ H531 and the prophet הַנָּבִ֖יא H5030 עַל H5921 זֹ֑את H2063 and cried וַֽיִּזְעֲק֖וּ H2199 to heaven הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ H8064 21 sent וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח H7971 And the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 an angel מַלְאָ֔ךְ H4397 which cut off וַיַּכְחֵ֞ד H3582 כָּל H3605 all the mighty men גִּבּ֥וֹר H1368 of valour חַ֙יִל֙ H2428 and the leaders וְנָגִ֣יד H5057 and captains וְשָׂ֔ר H8269 in the camp בְּמַֽחֲנֵ֖ה H4264 of the king מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 of Assyria אַשּׁ֑וּר H804 So he returned וַיָּשָׁב֩ H7725 with shame בְּבֹ֨שֶׁת H1322 of face פָּנִ֜ים H6440 to his own land לְאַרְצ֗וֹ H776 And when he was come וַיָּבֹא֙ H935 into the house בֵּ֣ית H1004 of his god אֱלֹהָ֔יו H430 they that came forth וּמִֽיצִיאֵ֣ו H3329 of his own bowels מֵעָ֔יו H4578 שָׁ֖ם H8033 slew הִפִּילֻ֥הוּ H5307 him there with the sword בֶחָֽרֶב׃ H2719 22 saved וַיּוֹשַׁע֩ H3467 Thus the LORD יְהוָ֨ה H3068 אֶת H853 Hezekiah יְחִזְקִיָּ֜הוּ H3169 וְאֵ֣ת׀ H853 and the inhabitants יֹֽשְׁבֵ֣י H3427 of Jerusalem יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֗ם H3389 and from the hand וּמִיַּד H3027 of Sennacherib סַנְחֵרִ֥יב H5576 the king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Assyria אַשּׁ֖וּר H804 and from the hand וּמִיַּד H3027 כֹּ֑ל H3605 of all other and guided וַֽיְנַהֲלֵ֖ם H5095 them on every side מִסָּבִֽיב׃ H5439 23 And many וְ֠רַבִּים H7227 brought מְבִיאִ֨ים H935 gifts מִנְחָ֤ה H4503 unto the LORD לַֽיהוָה֙ H3068 to Jerusalem לִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם H3389 and presents וּמִ֨גְדָּנ֔וֹת H4030 to Hezekiah לִֽיחִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ H3169 king מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 of Judah יְהוּדָ֑ה H3063 so that he was magnified וַיִּנַּשֵּׂ֛א H5375 in the sight לְעֵינֵ֥י H5869 כָל H3605 of all nations הַגּוֹיִ֖ם H1471 from thenceforth מֵאַֽחֲרֵי H310 כֵֽן׃ H3651 24 In those days בַּיָּמִ֣ים H3117 הָהֵ֔ם H1992 was sick חָלָ֥ה H2470 Hezekiah יְחִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ H3169 עַד H5704 to the death לָמ֑וּת H4191 and prayed וַיִּתְפַּלֵּל֙ H6419 אֶל H413 unto the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 and he spake וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 ל֔וֹ H0 him a sign וּמוֹפֵ֖ת H4159 unto him and he gave נָ֥תַן H5414 לֽוֹ׃ H0 25 וְלֹֽא H3808 according to the benefit כִגְמֻ֤ל H1576 עָלָיו֙ H5921 rendered not again הֵשִׁ֣יב H7725 But Hezekiah יְחִזְקִיָּ֔הוּ H3169 כִּ֥י H3588 was lifted up גָבַ֖הּ H1361 done unto him for his heart לִבּ֑וֹ H3820 וַיְהִ֤י H1961 עָלָיו֙ H5921 therefore there was wrath קֶ֔צֶף H7110 וְעַל H5921 upon him and upon Judah יְהוּדָ֖ה H3063 and Jerusalem וִירֽוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ H3389 26 humbled וַיִּכָּנַ֤ע H3665 Notwithstanding Hezekiah יְחִזְקִיָּ֙הוּ֙ H3169 himself for the pride בְּגֹ֣בַהּ H1363 of his heart לִבּ֔וֹ H3820 ה֖וּא H1931 both he and the inhabitants וְיוֹשְׁבֵ֣י H3427 of Jerusalem יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם H3389 וְלֹא H3808 came בָ֤א H935 עֲלֵיהֶם֙ H5921 so that the wrath קֶ֣צֶף H7110 of the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 not upon them in the days בִּימֵ֖י H3117 יְחִזְקִיָּֽהוּ׃ H2396 27 וַיְהִ֧י H1961 And Hezekiah לִֽיחִזְקִיָּ֛הוּ H3169 riches עֹ֥שֶׁר H6239 and honour וְכָב֖וֹד H3519 much הַרְבֵּ֣ה H7235 had exceeding מְאֹ֑ד H3966 himself treasuries וְאֹֽצָר֣וֹת H214 and he made עָֽשָׂה H6213 ל֠וֹ H0 for silver לְכֶ֨סֶף H3701 and for gold וּלְזָהָ֜ב H2091 stones וּלְאֶ֣בֶן H68 and for precious יְקָרָ֗ה H3368 and for spices וְלִבְשָׂמִים֙ H1314 and for shields וּלְמָ֣גִנִּ֔ים H4043 וּלְכֹ֖ל H3605 jewels כְּלֵ֥י H3627 and for all manner of pleasant חֶמְדָּֽה׃ H2532 28 Storehouses וּמִ֨סְכְּנ֔וֹת H4543 also for the increase לִתְבוּאַ֥ת H8393 of corn דָּגָ֖ן H1715 and wine וְתִיר֣וֹשׁ H8492 and oil וְיִצְהָ֑ר H3323 and stalls וְאֻֽרָוֹת֙ H723 לְכָל H3605 for all manner of beasts וּבְהֵמָ֔ה H929 for all manner of beasts וּבְהֵמָ֔ה H929 for flocks וַֽעֲדָרִ֖ים H5739 and cotes לָאֲוֵרֹֽת׃ H220 29 him cities וְעָרִים֙ H5892 Moreover he provided עָ֣שָׂה H6213 ל֔וֹ H0 and possessions וּמִקְנֵה H4735 of flocks צֹ֥אן H6629 and herds וּבָקָ֖ר H1241 in abundance לָרֹ֑ב H7230 כִּ֤י H3588 had given נָֽתַן H5414 לוֹ֙ H0 for God אֱלֹהִ֔ים H430 him substance רְכ֖וּשׁ H7399 much רַ֥ב H7227 very מְאֹֽד׃ H3966 30 וְה֣וּא H1931 And Hezekiah יְחִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ H3169 also stopped סָתַם֙ H5640 אֶת H853 watercourse מוֹצָ֞א H4161 מֵימֵ֤י H4325 of Gihon גִיחוֹן֙ H1521 the upper הָֽעֶלְי֔וֹן H5945 and brought it straight וַֽיַּישְּׁרֵ֥ם H3474 down לְמַֽטָּה H4295 to the west side מַּעְרָ֖בָה H4628 of the city לְעִ֣יר H5892 of David דָּוִ֑יד H1732 prospered וַיַּצְלַ֥ח H6743 And Hezekiah יְחִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ H3169 בְּכָֽל H3605 in all his works מַעֲשֵֽׂהוּ׃ H4639 31 Howbeit וְכֵ֞ן H3651 in the business of the ambassadors בִּמְלִיצֵ֣י׀ H3887 of the princes שָׂרֵ֣י H8269 of Babylon בָּבֶ֗ל H894 who sent הַֽמְשַׁלְּחִ֤ים H7971 עָלָיו֙ H5921 unto him to enquire לִדְרֹ֗שׁ H1875 of the wonder הַמּוֹפֵת֙ H4159 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 הָיָ֣ה H1961 that was done in the land בָאָ֔רֶץ H776 left עֲזָב֖וֹ H5800 God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים H430 him
