מִנֶּ֖גֶד H5048 afar off מֵֽרָח֑וֹק H7350 and they two וּשְׁנֵיהֶ֖ם H8147 and stood עָֽמְד֥וּ H5975 עַל H5921 by Jordan הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ H3383 8 took וַיִּקַּח֩ H3947 And Elijah אֵֽלִיָּ֨הוּ H452 אֶת H853 his mantle אַדַּרְתּ֤וֹ H155 and wrapped it together וַיִּגְלֹם֙ H1563 and smote וַיַּכֶּ֣ה H5221 אֶת H853 the waters הַמַּ֔יִם H4325 and they were divided וַיֵּֽחָצ֖וּ H2673 הֵ֣נָּה H2008 וָהֵ֑נָּה H2008 went over וַיַּֽעַבְר֥וּ H5674 hither and thither so that they two שְׁנֵיהֶ֖ם H8147 on dry בֶּחָֽרָבָֽה׃ H2724 9 וַיְהִ֣י H1961 And it came to pass when they were gone over כְעָבְרָ֗ם H5674 that Elijah וְאֵ֨לִיָּ֜הוּ H452 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 אֶל H413 from thee And Elisha אֱלִישָׁ֔ע H477 Ask שְׁאַל֙ H7592 מָ֣ה H4100 what I shall do אֶֽעֱשֶׂה H6213 לָּ֔ךְ H0 בְּטֶ֖רֶם H2962 for thee of thy spirit בְּרֽוּחֲךָ֖ H7307 אֵלָֽי׃ H413 10 And he said וַיֹּ֖אמֶר H559 a hard thing הִקְשִׁ֣יתָ H7185 Thou hast asked לִשְׁא֑וֹל H7592 אִם H518 nevertheless if thou see תִּרְאֶ֨ה H7200 אֹתִ֜י H853 me when I am taken לֻקָּ֤ח H3947 מֵֽאִתָּךְ֙ H853 יְהִֽי H1961 לְךָ֣ H0 כֵ֔ן H3651 וְאִם H518 אַ֖יִן H369 לֹ֥א H3808 יִֽהְיֶֽה׃ H1961 11 וַיְהִ֗י H1961 הֵ֣מָּה H1992 And it came to pass as they still הָלוֹךְ֙ H1980 And it came to pass as they still הָלוֹךְ֙ H1980 and talked וְדַבֵּ֔ר H1696 וְהִנֵּ֤ה H2009 that behold there appeared a chariot רֶֽכֶב H7393 of fire אֵ֔שׁ H784 and horses וְס֣וּסֵי H5483 of fire אֵ֔שׁ H784 and parted וַיַּפְרִ֖דוּ H6504 asunder בֵּ֣ין H996 them both שְׁנֵיהֶ֑ם H8147 went up וַיַּ֙עַל֙ H5927 and Elijah אֵ֣לִיָּ֔הוּ H452 by a whirlwind בַּֽסְּעָרָ֖ה H5591 into heaven הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ H8064 12 And Elisha וֶֽאֱלִישָׁ֣ע H477 saw רָאָ֖הוּ H7200 וְה֤וּא H1931 it and he cried מְצַעֵק֙ H6817 My father אָבִ֗י H1 My father אָבִ֗י H1 the chariot רֶ֤כֶב H7393 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 and the horsemen וּפָ֣רָשָׁ֔יו H6571 וְלֹ֥א H3808 saw רָאָ֖הוּ H7200 ע֑וֹד H5750 him no more and he took hold וַֽיַּחֲזֵק֙ H2388 of his own clothes בִּבְגָדָ֔יו H899 and rent וַיִּקְרָעֵ֖ם H7167 them in two לִשְׁנַ֥יִם H8147 pieces קְרָעִֽים׃ H7168 13 He took up וַיָּ֙רֶם֙ H7311 אֶת H853 also the mantle אַדֶּ֣רֶת H155 of Elijah אֵֽלִיָּ֔הוּ H452 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 that fell נָֽפְלָ֖ה H5307 מֵֽעָלָ֑יו H5921 from him and went back וַיָּ֥שָׁב H7725 and stood וַֽיַּעֲמֹ֖ד H5975 עַל H5921 by the bank שְׂפַ֥ת H8193 of Jordan הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ H3383 14 And he took וַיִּקַּח֩ H3947 אֶת H853 the mantle אַדֶּ֨רֶת H155 of Elijah אֵֽלִיָּ֑הוּ H452 אֲשֶׁר H834 that fell נָֽפְלָ֤ה H5307 מֵֽעָלָיו֙ H5921 and when he also had smitten וַיַּכֶּ֣ה H5221 אֶת H853 the waters הַמַּ֗יִם H4325 sons בְנֵֽי H1121 of the prophets הַנְּבִיאִ֤ים H5030 אֲשֶׁר H834 which were to view at Jericho בִּֽירִיחוֹ֙ H3405 מִנֶּ֔גֶד H5048 him they said וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ H559 doth rest נָ֛חָה H5117 The spirit ר֥וּחַ H7307 of Elijah אֵֽלִיָּ֖הוּ H452 עַל H5921 on Elisha אֱלִישָׁ֑ע H477 And they came וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ H935 to meet לִקְרָאת֔וֹ H7125 him and bowed וַיִּשְׁתַּֽחֲווּ H7812 ל֖וֹ H0 themselves to the ground אָֽרְצָה׃ H776 16 And he said וַיֹּ֖אמֶר H559 אֵלָ֡יו H413 הִנֵּה H2009 נָ֣א H4994 unto him Behold now there be יֵֽשׁ H3426 אֶת H854 with thy servants עֲבָדֶיךָ֩ H5650 fifty חֲמִשִּׁ֨ים H2572 אֲנָשִׁ֜ים H376 men בְּנֵי H1121 strong חַ֗יִל H2428 יֵ֣לְכוּ H1980 נָא֮ H4994 we pray thee and seek וִֽיבַקְשׁ֣וּ H1245 אֶת H853 thy master אֲדֹנֶיךָ֒ H113 פֶּן H6435 hath taken him up נְשָׂאוֹ֙ H5375 lest peradventure the Spirit ר֣וּחַ H7307 of the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 and cast וַיַּשְׁלִכֵ֙הוּ֙ H7993 him upon some בְּאַחַ֣ת H259 mountain הֶֽהָרִ֔ים H2022 א֖וֹ H176 him upon some בְּאַחַ֣ת H259 H3117 וְלֹ֥א H3808 but found מְצָאֻֽהוּ׃ H4672 18 And when they came again וַיָּשֻׁ֣בוּ H7725 אֵלָ֔יו H413 וְה֖וּא H1931 to him (for he tarried יֹשֵׁ֣ב H3427 at Jericho בִּֽירִיח֑וֹ H3405 he said אָמַ֥רְתִּי H559 אֲלֵהֶ֔ם H413 הֲלֹֽא H3808 he said אָמַ֥רְתִּי H559 אֲלֵיכֶ֖ם H413 אַל H408 תֵּלֵֽכוּ׃ H1980 19 said וַיֹּ֨אמְר֜וּ H559 אַנְשֵׁ֤י H376 of the city הָעִיר֙ H5892 אֶל H413 unto Elisha אֱלִישָׁ֔ע H477 הִנֵּה H2009 נָ֞א H4994 Behold I pray thee the situation מוֹשַׁ֤ב H4186 of the city הָעִיר֙ H5892 is pleasant ט֔וֹב H2896 כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 as my lord אֲדֹנִ֖י H113 seeth רֹאֶ֑ה H7200 but the water וְהַמַּ֥יִם H4325 is naught רָעִ֖ים H7451 and the ground וְהָאָ֥רֶץ H776 barren מְשַׁכָּֽלֶת׃ H7921 20 And he said וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 Bring וַיִּקְח֖וּ H3947 לִי֙ H0 cruse צְלֹחִ֣ית H6746 me a new חֲדָשָׁ֔ה H2319 and put וְשִׂ֥ימוּ H7760 שָׁ֖ם H8033 salt מֶ֑לַח H4417 Bring וַיִּקְח֖וּ H3947 אֵלָֽיו׃ H413 21 And he went forth וַיֵּצֵא֙ H3318 אֶל H413 unto the spring מוֹצָ֣א H4161 of the waters לַמַּ֣יִם H4325 and cast וַיַּשְׁלֶךְ H7993 שָׁ֖ם H8033 the salt מֶ֑לַח H4417 Thus saith אָמַ֣ר H559 כֹּֽה H3541 Thus saith אָמַ֣ר H559 the LORD יְהוָ֗ה H3068 I have healed רִפִּ֙אתִי֙ H7495 of the waters לַמַּ֣יִם H4325 הָאֵ֔לֶּה H428 לֹֽא H3808 יִהְיֶ֥ה H1961 מִשָּׁ֛ם H8033 ע֖וֹד H5750 there shall not be from thence any more death מָ֥וֶת H4194 or barren וּמְשַׁכָּֽלֶת׃ H7921 22 were healed וַיֵּֽרָפ֣וּ H7495 So the waters הַמַּ֔יִם H4325 עַ֖ד H5704 unto this day הַיּ֣וֹם H3117 הַזֶּ֑ה H2088 according to the saying כִּדְבַ֥ר H1697 of Elisha אֱלִישָׁ֖ע H477 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which he spake
