וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ H935 by night לַ֔יְלָה H3915 about וַיַּקִּ֖פוּ H5362 עַל H5921 the city הָעִֽיר׃ H5892 15 early וַ֠יַּשְׁכֵּם H7925 And when the servant מְשָׁרֵ֨ת H8334 of the man אִ֥ישׁ H376 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִים֮ H430 was risen לָקוּם֒ H6965 and gone forth וַיֵּצֵ֕א H3318 וְהִנֵּה H2009 behold an host חַ֛יִל H2428 compassed סוֹבֵ֥ב H5437 אֶת H853 the city הָעִ֖יר H5892 both with horses וְס֣וּס H5483 and chariots וָרָ֑כֶב H7393 said וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 And his servant נַֽעֲר֥וֹ H5288 אֵלָ֛יו H413 unto him Alas אֲהָ֥הּ H162 my master אֲדֹנִ֖י H113 אֵיכָ֥ה H349 how shall we do נַֽעֲשֶֽׂה׃ H6213 16 And he answered וַיֹּ֖אמֶר H559 אַל H408 Fear תִּירָ֑א H3372 כִּ֤י H3588 not for they that be with us are more רַבִּים֙ H7227 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 אִתָּ֔נוּ H854 מֵֽאֲשֶׁ֖ר H834 אוֹתָֽם׃ H854 17 prayed וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֤ל H6419 And Elisha אֱלִישָֽׁע׃ H477 and said וַיֹּאמַ֔ר H559 And the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 I pray thee open וַיִּפְקַ֤ח H6491 נָ֥א H4994 אֶת H853 his eyes עֵינֵ֣י H5869 and he saw וַיַּ֗רְא H7200 I pray thee open וַיִּפְקַ֤ח H6491 And the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 אֶת H853 his eyes עֵינֵ֣י H5869 of the young man הַנַּ֔עַר H5288 and he saw וַיַּ֗רְא H7200 וְהִנֵּ֨ה H2009 and behold the mountain הָהָ֜ר H2022 was full מָלֵ֨א H4390 of horses סוּסִ֥ים H5483 and chariots וְרֶ֛כֶב H7393 of fire אֵ֖שׁ H784 round about סְבִיבֹ֥ת H5439 And Elisha אֱלִישָֽׁע׃ H477 18 And when they came down H2090 the city הָעִיר֒ H5892 לְכ֣וּ H1980 אַֽחֲרַ֔י H310 וְאוֹלִ֣יכָה H1980 אֶתְכֶ֔ם H853 אֶל H413 you to the man הָאִ֖ישׁ H376 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 whom ye seek תְּבַקֵּשׁ֑וּן H1245 וַיֹּ֥לֶךְ H1980 אוֹתָ֖ם H853 them to Samaria שֹֽׁמְרֽוֹנָה׃ H8111 20 וַיְהִי֮ H1961 And it came to pass when they were come כְּבֹאָ֣ם H935 into Samaria שֹֽׁמְרֽוֹן׃ H8111 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 that Elisha אֱלִישָׁ֔ע H477 And the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 open וַיִּפְקַ֤ח H6491 אֶת H853 the eyes עֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם H5869 אֵ֖לֶּה H428 and they saw וַיִּרְא֕וּ H7200 open וַיִּפְקַ֤ח H6491 And the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 אֶת H853 the eyes עֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם H5869 and they saw וַיִּרְא֕וּ H7200 וְהִנֵּ֖ה H2009 and behold they were in the midst בְּת֥וֹךְ H8432 into Samaria שֹֽׁמְרֽוֹן׃ H8111 21 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 And the king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 אֶל H413 unto Elisha אֱלִישָׁ֔ע H477 when he saw כִּרְאֹת֖וֹ H7200 אוֹתָ֑ם H853 shall I smite אַכֶּ֖ה H5221 shall I smite אַכֶּ֖ה H5221 them My father אָבִֽי׃ H1 22 And he answered וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 לֹ֣א H3808 Thou shalt not smite מַכֶּ֑ה H5221 הַֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 those whom thou hast taken captive שָׁבִ֛יתָ H7617 with thy sword בְּחַרְבְּךָ֥ H2719 and with thy bow וּֽבְקַשְׁתְּךָ֖ H7198 אַתָּ֣ה H859 Thou shalt not smite מַכֶּ֑ה H5221 set שִׂים֩ H7760 bread לֶ֨חֶם H3899 and water וָמַ֜יִם H4325 before לִפְנֵיהֶ֗ם H6440 them that they may eat וְיֹֽאכְלוּ֙ H398 and drink וְיִשְׁתּ֔וּ H8354 וְיֵֽלְכ֖וּ H1980 אֶל H413 to their master אֲדֹֽנֵיהֶֽם׃ H113 23 And he prepared וַיִּכְרֶ֨ה H3739 לָהֶ֜ם H1992 provision כֵּרָ֣ה H3740 great גְדוֹלָ֗ה H1419 for them and when they had eaten וַיֹּֽאכְלוּ֙ H398 and drunk וַיִּשְׁתּ֔וּ H8354 he sent them away וַֽיְשַׁלְּחֵ֔ם H7971 וַיֵּֽלְכ֖וּ H1980 אֶל H413 to their master אֲדֹֽנֵיהֶ֑ם H113 וְלֹא H3808 no more יָ֤סְפוּ H3254 עוֹד֙ H5750 So the bands גְּדוּדֵ֣י H1416 of Syria אֲרָ֔ם H758 came לָב֖וֹא H935 into the land בְּאֶ֥רֶץ H776 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 24 וַֽיְהִי֙ H1961 And it came to pass after this אַֽחֲרֵי H310 כֵ֔ן H3651 gathered וַיִּקְבֹּ֛ץ H6908 בֶּן H0 that Benhadad הֲדַ֥ד H1130 king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Syria אֲרָ֖ם H758 אֶת H853 כָּל H3605 all his host מַֽחֲנֵ֑הוּ H4264 and went up וַיַּ֕עַל H5927 and besieged וַיָּ֖צַר H6696 עַל H5921 Samaria שֹֽׁמְרֽוֹן׃ H8111 25 וַיְהִ֨י H1961 famine רָעָ֤ב H7458 And there was a great גָּדוֹל֙ H1419 in Samaria בְּשֹׁ֣מְר֔וֹן H8111 וְהִנֵּ֖ה H2009 and behold they besieged צָרִ֣ים H6696 עָלֶ֑יהָ H5921 עַ֣ד H5704 הֱי֤וֹת H1961 head רֹאשׁ H7218 it until an ass's חֲמוֹר֙ H2543 was sold for fourscore בִּשְׁמֹנִ֣ים H8084 pieces of silver כָֽסֶף׃ H3701 and the fourth part וְרֹ֛בַע H7255 of a cab הַקַּ֥ב H6894 חִרייוֹנִ֖ים H2755 for five בַּֽחֲמִשָּׁה H2568 pieces of silver כָֽסֶף׃ H3701 26 וַֽיְהִי֙ H1961 And as the king הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 was passing by עֹבֵ֖ר H5674 עַל H5921 upon the wall הַֽחֹמָ֑ה H2346 a woman וְאִשָּׁ֗ה H802 there cried צָֽעֲקָ֤ה H6817 אֵלָיו֙ H413 unto him saying לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 Help הוֹשִׁ֖יעָה H3467 my lord אֲדֹנִ֥י H113 And as the king הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 27 And he said וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 אַל H408 do not help אֽוֹשִׁיעֵ֑ךְ H3467 If the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 thee whence מֵאַ֖יִן H370 do not help אֽוֹשִׁיעֵ֑ךְ H3467 הֲמִן H4480 thee out of the barnfloor הַגֹּ֖רֶן H1637 א֥וֹ H176 מִן H4480 or out of the winepress הַיָּֽקֶב׃ H3342 28 said אָֽמְרָ֣ה H559 לָ֥הּ H0 And the king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 מַה וְנֹ֣אכְלֶ֔נּוּ H398 him and I said וָֽאֹמַ֨ר H559 אֵלֶ֜יהָ H413 day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 unto her on the next הָֽאַחֵ֗ר H312 Give תְּנִ֤י H5414 אֶת H853 her son בְּנָֽהּ׃ H1121 and did eat וְנֹ֣אכְלֶ֔נּוּ H398 him and she hath hid וַתַּחְבִּ֖א H2244 אֶת H853 her son בְּנָֽהּ׃ H1121 30 וַיְהִי֩ H1961 heard כִשְׁמֹ֨עַ H8085 And it came to pass when the king הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ H4428 אֶת H853 the words דִּבְרֵ֤י H1697 of the woman הָֽאִשָּׁה֙ H802 that he rent וַיִּקְרַ֣ע H7167 אֶת H853 his clothes בְּגָדָ֔יו H899 וְה֖וּא H1931 and he passed by עֹבֵ֣ר H5674 עַל H5921 upon the wall הַֽחֹמָ֑ה H2346 looked וַיַּ֣רְא H7200 and the people הָעָ֔ם H5971 וְהִנֵּ֥ה H2009 and behold he had sackcloth הַשַּׂ֛ק H8242 עַל H5921 upon his flesh בְּשָׂר֖וֹ H1320 within מִבָּֽיִת׃ H1004 31 Then he said וַיֹּ֕אמֶר H559 כֹּֽה H3541 do יַעֲשֶׂה H6213 לִּ֥י H0 God אֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 וְכֹ֣ה H3541 so and more יוֹסִ֑ף H3254 אִֽם H518 shall stand יַעֲמֹ֞ד H5975 also to me if the head רֹ֣אשׁ H7218 of Elisha אֱלִישָׁ֧ע H477 the
