וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 And David's דָוִ֔ד H1732 I will shew עָשָׂ֨ה H6213 kindness חֶ֔סֶד H2617 עִם H5973 unto Hanun חָנ֣וּן H2586 of the children בְּנֵ֥י H1121 of Nahash נָחָ֗שׁ H5176 כַּֽאֲשֶׁר֩ H834 I will shew עָשָׂ֨ה H6213 as his father אָבִ֑יו H1 עִמָּדִי֙ H5978 kindness חֶ֔סֶד H2617 sent וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח H7971 And David's דָוִ֔ד H1732 to comfort לְנַֽחֲמ֛וֹ H5162 him by the hand בְּיַד H3027 of his וַיִּשְׂכְּרוּ֩ H7936 אֶת H853 and the Syrians אֲרַ֣ם H758 בֵּית H0 of Bethrehob רְח֜וֹב H1050 וְאֶת H853 and the Syrians אֲרַ֣ם H758 of Zoba צוֹבָ֗א H6678 twenty עֶשְׂרִ֥ים H6242 a thousand אִֽישׁ׃ H4421 at the entering in פֶּ֣תַח H6607 of the gate הַשָּׁ֑עַר H8179 and the Syrians וַֽאֲרַ֨ם H758 of Zoba צוֹבָ֤א H6678 and of Rehob וּרְחוֹב֙ H7340 וְאִֽישׁ H376 ט֣וֹב H2897 and Maacah וּמַֽעֲכָ֔ה H4601 were by themselves לְבַדָּ֖ם H905 in the field בַּשָּׂדֶֽה׃ H7704 9 saw וַיַּ֣רְא H7200 When Joab יוֹאָ֗ב H3097 כִּֽי H3588 הָיְתָ֤ה H1961 אֵלָיו֙ H413 that the front מִפָּנִ֖ים H6440 of the battle הַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה H4421 that the front מִפָּנִ֖ים H6440 and behind וּמֵֽאָח֑וֹר H268 he chose בְּחוּרֵ֣י H977 מִכֹּל֙ H3605 he chose בְּחוּרֵ֣י H977 men of Israel בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 and put them in array וַֽיַּעֲרֹ֖ךְ H6186 against לִקְרַ֥את H7125 the Syrians אֲרָֽם׃ H758 10 וְאֵת֙ H853 And the rest יֶ֣תֶר H3499 of the people הָעָ֔ם H5971 he delivered נָתַ֕ן H5414 into the hand בְּיַ֖ד H3027 of Abishai אַבְשַׁ֣י H52 his brother אָחִ֑יו H251 that he might put them in array וַיַּֽעֲרֹ֕ךְ H6186 against לִקְרַ֖את H7125 the children בְּנֵ֥י H1121 of Ammon עַמּֽוֹן׃ H5983 11 And he said וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 אִם H518 be too strong יֶחֱזְק֣וּ H2388 If the Syrians אֲרָם֙ H758 מִמֶּ֔נִּי H4480 וְהָיִ֥תָה H1961 לִּ֖י H0 for me then thou shalt help לִֽישׁוּעָ֑ה H3444 וְאִם H518 me but if the children בְּנֵ֤י H1121 of Ammon עַמּוֹן֙ H5983 be too strong יֶחֱזְק֣וּ H2388 מִמְּךָ֔ H4480 for thee then I will come וְהָֽלַכְתִּ֖י H1980 and help לְהוֹשִׁ֥יעַֽ H3467 לָֽךְ׃ H0 12 Be of good courage עַמּ֔וֹן H5983 saw רָאוּ֙ H7200 כִּי H3588 then fled וַיָּנֻ֙סוּ֙ H5127 that the Syrians אֲרָ֔ם H758 then fled וַיָּנֻ֙סוּ֙ H5127 they also before מִפְּנֵ֣י H6440 Abishai אֲבִישַׁ֔י H52 and came וַיָּבֹ֖א H935 into the city הָעִ֑יר H5892 returned וַיָּ֣שָׁב H7725 So Joab יוֹאָ֗ב H3097 מֵעַל֙ H5921 And when the children בְּנֵ֣י H1121 of Ammon עַמּ֔וֹן H5983 and came וַיָּבֹ֖א H935 to Jerusalem יְרֽוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ H3389 15 saw וַיַּ֣רְא H7200 And when the Syrians אֲרָ֔ם H758 כִּ֥י H3588 that they were smitten נִגַּ֖ף H5062 before לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 they gathered וַיֵּאָֽסְפ֖וּ H622 themselves together יָֽחַד׃ H3162 16 sent וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח H7971 And Hadarezer הֲדַדְעֶ֖זֶר H1928 and brought out וַיֹּצֵ֤א H3318 אֶת H853 the Syrians אֲרָם֙ H758 אֲשֶׁר֙ H834 that were beyond מֵעֵ֣בֶר H5676 the river הַנָּהָ֔ר H5104 and they came וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ H935 to Helam חֵילָ֑ם H2431 and Shobach וְשׁוֹבַ֛ךְ H7731 the captain שַׂר H8269 of the host צְבָ֥א H6635 And Hadarezer הֲדַדְעֶ֖זֶר H1928 went before לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃ H6440 17 And when it was told וַיֻּגַּ֣ד H5046 David דָּוִ֔ד H1732 he gathered וַיֶּֽאֱסֹ֤ף H622 אֶת H853 כָּל H3605 all Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 and passed over וַיַּֽעֲבֹ֣ר H5674 אֶת H853 Jordan הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן H3383 and came וַיָּבֹ֖א H935 to Helam חֵלָ֑אמָה H2431 set themselves in array וַיַּֽעַרְכ֤וּ H6186 And the Syrians אֲרָם֙ H758 against לִקְרַ֣את H7125 David דָּוִ֔ד H1732 and fought וַיִּֽלָּחֲמ֖וּ H3898 עִמּֽוֹ׃ H5973 18 fled וַיָּ֣נָס H5127 And the Syrians מֵֽאֲרָ֗ם H758 before מִפְּנֵ֣י H6440 Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ H3478 slew וַיַּֽהֲרֹ֨ג H2026 and David דָּוִ֜ד H1732 And the Syrians מֵֽאֲרָ֗ם H758 the men of seven שְׁבַ֤ע H7651 hundred מֵאוֹת֙ H3967 chariots רֶ֔כֶב H7393 and forty וְאַרְבָּעִ֥ים H705 thousand אֶ֖לֶף H505 horsemen פָּֽרָשִׁ֑ים H6571 וְאֵ֨ת H853 Shobach שׁוֹבַ֧ךְ H7731 the captain שַׂר H8269 of their host צְבָא֛וֹ H6635 and smote הִכָּ֖ה H5221 who died וַיָּ֥מָת H4191 שָֽׁם׃ H8033 19 saw וַיִּרְא֨וּ H7200 כָֽל H3605 And when all the kings הַמְּלָכִ֜ים H4428 that were servants עַבְדֵ֣י H5650 to Hadarezer הֲדַדְעֶ֗זֶר H1928 כִּ֤י H3588 that they were smitten נִגְּפוּ֙ H5062 before לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 Israel
