that Absalom וּלְאַבְשָׁל֧וֹם H53 the son בֶּן H1121 of David דָּוִֽד׃ H1732 sister אָח֥וֹת H269 had a fair יָפָ֖ה H3303 whose name וּשְׁמָ֣הּ H8034 was Tamar תָּמָ֑ר H8559 loved וַיֶּֽאֱהָבֶ֖הָ H157 and Amnon אַמְנ֥וֹן H550 the son בֶּן H1121 of David דָּוִֽד׃ H1732 2 was so vexed וַיֵּ֨צֶר H3334 And Amnon אַמְנ֔וֹן H550 that he fell sick לְהִתְחַלּ֗וֹת H2470 בַּֽעֲבוּר֙ H5668 Tamar תָּמָ֣ר H8559 לָ֖הּ H0 any thing מְאֽוּמָה׃ H3972 3 But Amnon וּלְאַמְנ֣וֹן H550 had a friend רֵ֗עַ H7453 whose name וּשְׁמוֹ֙ H8034 and Jonadab וְי֣וֹנָדָ֔ב H3122 the son בֶּן H1121 of Shimeah שִׁמְעָ֖ה H8093 brother אֲחִ֣י H251 David's דָוִ֑ד H1732 and Jonadab וְי֣וֹנָדָ֔ב H3122 man אִ֥ישׁ H376 subtil חָכָ֖ם H2450 was a very מְאֹֽד׃ H3966 4 And he said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 ל֗וֹ H0 מַדּ֣וּעַ H4069 אַ֠תָּה H859 come תָּ֣בֹא H935 and when thy father אָבִ֣יךָ H1 that I may see אֶרְאֶ֔ה H7200 said וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֣ H559 אֵלָ֡יו H413 come תָּ֣בֹא H935 נָא֩ H4994 Tamar תָמָ֨ר H8559 unto him I pray thee let my sister when the king הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 to see לִרְאוֹת֗וֹ H7200 said וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 So Amnon אַמְנ֤וֹן H550 אֶל H413 and when the king הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 come תָּֽבוֹא H935 נָ֞א H4994 I pray thee let Tamar תָּמָ֣ר H8559 my sister אֲחֹתִ֗י H269 and make וּתְלַבֵּ֤ב H3823 in my sight לְעֵינַי֙ H5869 me a couple שְׁתֵּ֣י H8147 of cakes לְבִב֔וֹת H3834 that I may eat וְאֶבְרֶ֖ה H1262 at her hand מִיָּדָֽהּ׃ H3027 7 sent וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח H7971 Then David דָּוִ֛ד H1732 אֶל H413 to Tamar תָּמָ֖ר H8559 home בֵּ֚ית H1004 saying לֵאמֹ֑ר H559 לְכִ֣י H1980 נָ֗א H4994 home בֵּ֚ית H1004 Amnon's אַמְנ֣וֹן H550 now to thy brother אָחִ֔יךְ H251 and dress וַֽעֲשִׂי H6213 ל֖וֹ H0 him meat הַבִּרְיָֽה׃ H1279 8 וַתֵּ֣לֶךְ H1980 So Tamar תָּמָ֗ר H8559 house בֵּ֛ית H1004 Amnon's אַמְנ֥וֹן H550 to her brother אָחִ֖יהָ H251 וְה֣וּא H1931 and he was laid down שֹׁכֵ֑ב H7901 And she took וַתִּקַּ֨ח H3947 אֶת H853 flour הַבָּצֵ֤ק H1217 and kneaded וַתָּ֙לָוֹשׁ֙ H3888 it and made cakes וַתְּלַבֵּ֣ב H3823 in his sight לְעֵינָ֔יו H5869 and did bake וַתְּבַשֵּׁ֖ל H1310 אֶת H853 the cakes הַלְּבִבֽוֹת׃ H3834 9 And she took וַתִּקַּ֤ח H3947 אֶת H853 a pan הַמַּשְׂרֵת֙ H4958 and poured them out וַתִּצֹ֣ק H3332 before לְפָנָ֔יו H6440 him but he refused וַיְמָאֵ֖ן H3985 to eat לֶֽאֱכ֑וֹל H398 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And Amnon אַמְנ֗וֹן H550 Have out וַיֵּֽצְא֥וּ H3318 כָל H3605 all men אִ֖ישׁ H376 מֵֽעָלַ֔י H5921 Have H1279 into the chamber הֶחָֽדְרָה׃ H2315 that I may eat וְאֶבְרֶ֖ה H1262 of thine hand מִיָּדֵ֑ךְ H3027 took וַתִּקַּ֣ח H3947 And Tamar תָּמָ֗ר H8559 אֶת H853 the cakes הַלְּבִבוֹת֙ H3834 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which she had made עָשָׂ֔תָה H6213 Bring וַתָּבֵ֛א H935 And Amnon לְאַמְנ֥וֹן H550 her brother אָחִ֖יהָ H251 into the chamber הֶחָֽדְרָה׃ H2315 11 And when she had brought וַתַּגֵּ֥שׁ H5066 אֵלָ֖יו H413 them unto him to eat לֶֽאֱכֹ֑ל H398 he took hold וַיַּֽחֲזֶק H2388 בָּהּ֙ H0 of her and said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 לָ֔הּ H0 unto her Come בּ֛וֹאִי H935 lie שִׁכְבִ֥י H7901 עִמִּ֖י H5973 with me my sister אֲחוֹתִֽי׃ H269 12 And she answered וַתֹּ֣אמֶר H559 ל֗וֹ H0 אַל H408 him Nay my brother אָחִי֙ H251 אַל H408 do not force תְּעַנֵּ֔נִי H6031 כִּ֛י H3588 לֹֽא H3808 do תַּעֲשֵׂ֖ה H6213 me for no such thing ought כֵ֖ן H3651 in Israel בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 אַֽל H408 do תַּעֲשֵׂ֖ה H6213 אֶת H853 not thou this folly הַנְּבָלָ֥ה H5039 הַזֹּֽאת׃ H2063 13 וַֽאֲנִ֗י H589 אָ֤נָה H575 אוֹלִיךְ֙ H1980 אֶת H853 And I whither shall I cause my shame חֶרְפָּתִ֔י H2781 וְאַתָּ֗ה H859 תִּֽהְיֶ֛ה H1961 and as for thee thou shalt be as one כְּאַחַ֥ד H259 of the fools הַנְּבָלִ֖ים H5036 in Israel בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 וְעַתָּה֙ H6258 Now therefore I pray thee speak דַּבֶּר H1696 נָ֣א H4994 אֶל H413 unto the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 כִּ֛י H3588 לֹ֥א H3808 for he will not withhold יִמְנָעֵ֖נִי H4513 מִמֶּֽךָּ׃ H4480 14 וְלֹ֥א H3808 Howbeit he would אָבָ֖ה H14 not hearken לִשְׁמֹ֣עַ H8085 unto her voice בְּקוֹלָ֑הּ H6963 but being stronger וַיֶּֽחֱזַ֤ק H2388 מִמֶּ֙נָּה֙ H4480 than she forced וַיְעַנֶּ֔הָ H6031 her and lay וַיִּשְׁכַּ֖ב H7901 אֹתָֽהּ׃ H854 15 hated שְׂנֵאָ֔הּ H8130 Then Amnon אַמְנ֖וֹן H550 so that the hatred הַשִּׂנְאָה֙ H8135 her was greater גְדוֹלָ֗ה H1419 her exceedingly מְאֹ֔ד H3966 כִּ֣י H3588 her was greater גְדוֹלָ֗ה H1419 so that the hatred הַשִּׂנְאָה֙ H8135 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 hated שְׂנֵאָ֔הּ H8130 than the love מֵֽאַהֲבָ֖ה H160 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 wherewith he had loved אֲהֵבָ֑הּ H157 said וַֽיֹּאמֶר H559 לָ֥הּ H0 Then Amnon אַמְנ֖וֹן H550 unto her Arise ק֥וּמִי H6965 לֵֽכִי׃ H1980 16 And she said וַתֹּ֣אמֶר H559 ל֗וֹ H0 אַל H408 unto him There is no cause אוֹדֹ֞ת H182 this evil הָֽרָעָ֤ה H7451 is greater הַגְּדוֹלָה֙ H1419 הַזֹּ֔את H2063 than the other מֵֽאַחֶ֛רֶת H312 אֲשֶׁר H834 that thou didst עָשִׂ֥יתָ H6213 עִמִּ֖י H5973 in sending me away לְשַׁלְּחֵ֑נִי H7971 וְלֹ֥א H3808 unto me But he would אָבָ֖ה H14 not hearken לִשְׁמֹ֥עַֽ H8085 לָֽהּ׃ H0 17 Then he called וַיִּקְרָ֗א H7121 אֶֽת H853 his servant נַעֲרוֹ֙ H5288 that ministered מְשָׁ֣רְת֔וֹ H8334 unto him and said וַיֹּ֕אמֶר H559 Put שִׁלְחוּ H7971 נָ֥א H4994 אֶת H853 זֹ֛את H2063 מֵֽעָלַ֖י H5921 now this woman out הַח֑וּצָה H2351 from me and bolt וּנְעֹ֥ל H5274 the door הַדֶּ֖לֶת H1817 after אַֽחֲרֶֽיהָ׃ H310 18 וְעָלֶ֙יהָ֙ H5921 And she had a garment כְּתֹ֣נֶת H3801 of divers colours פַּסִּ֔ים H6446 כִּי֩ H3588 כֵ֨ן H3651 apparelled תִּלְבַּ֧שְׁןָ H3847 daughters בְנוֹת H1323 were the king's הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ H4428 that were virgins הַבְּתוּלֹ֖ת H1330 upon her for with such robes מְעִילִ֑ים H4598 brought וַיֹּצֵ֨א H3318 אוֹתָ֤הּ H853 Then his servant מְשָֽׁרְתוֹ֙ H8334 her out הַח֔וּץ H2351 and bolted וְנָעַ֥ל H5274 the door הַדֶּ֖לֶת H1817 after אַֽחֲרֶֽיהָ׃ H310 19 put וַתִּקַּ֨ח H3947 And Tamar תָּמָ֥ר H8559 ashes אֵ֙פֶר֙ H665 עַל H5921 on her head רֹאשָׁ֔הּ H7218 her garment וּכְתֹ֧נֶת H3801 of divers colours הַפַּסִּ֛ים H6446 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 עָלֶ֖יהָ H5921 and rent קָרָ֑עָה H7167 that was on her and laid וַתָּ֤שֶׂם H7760 her hand יָדָהּ֙ H3027 עַל H5921 on her head רֹאשָׁ֔הּ H7218 on הָל֖וֹךְ H1980 on הָל֖וֹךְ H1980 crying וְזָעָֽקָה׃ H2199 20 said וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 אֵלֶ֜יהָ H413 Absalom's אַבְשָׁל֥וֹם H53 he is thy brother אָחִֽיהָ׃ H251 unto her Hath Amnon הַֽאֲמִינ֣וֹן H550 he is thy brother אָחִֽיהָ׃ H251 הָיָ֣ה H1961 עִמָּךְ֒ H5973 וְעַתָּ֞ה H6258 my sister אֲחוֹתִ֤י H269 been with thee but hold now thy peace הַֽחֲרִ֙ישִׁי֙ H2790 he is thy brother אָחִֽיהָ׃ H251 ה֔וּא H1931 אַל H408 regard תָּשִׁ֥יתִי H7896 אֶת H853 לִבֵּ֖ךְ H3820 not this thing לַדָּבָ֣ר H1697 הַזֶּ֑ה H2088 remained וַתֵּ֤שֶׁב H3427 So Tamar תָּמָר֙ H8559 וְשֹׁ֣מֵמָ֔ה H8076 house בֵּ֖ית H1004 Absalom's אַבְשָׁל֥וֹם H53 he is thy brother אָחִֽיהָ׃ H251 21 But when king וְהַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 David דָּוִ֔ד H1732 heard שָׁמַ֕ע H8085 אֵ֥ת H853 כָּל H3605 of all these things הַדְּבָרִ֖ים H1697 הָאֵ֑לֶּה H428 wroth וַיִּ֥חַר H2734 ל֖וֹ H0 he was very מְאֹֽד׃ H3966 22 וְלֹֽא H3808 spake דִבֶּ֧ר H1696 And Absalom אַבְשָׁלוֹם֙ H53 עִם H5973 Amnon אַמְנ֔וֹן H550 nor bad לְמֵרָ֣ע H7451 וְעַד H5704 neither good ט֑וֹב H2896 כִּֽי H3588 hated שָׂנֵ֤א H8130 And Absalom אַבְשָׁלוֹם֙ H53 אֶת H853 Amnon אַמְנ֔וֹן H550 עַל H5921 because דְּבַר֙ H1697 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 he had forced עִנָּ֔ה H6031 אֵ֖ת H853 Tamar תָּמָ֥ר H8559 his sister אֲחֹתֽוֹ׃ H269 23 וַֽיְהִי֙ H1961 years לִשְׁנָתַ֣יִם H8141 And it came to pass after two full יָמִ֔ים H3117 וַיִּֽהְי֤וּ H1961 had sheepshearers גֹֽזְזִים֙ H1494 and Absalom אַבְשָׁל֖וֹם H53 בְּבַ֥עַל H0 in Baalhazor חָצ֖וֹר H1178 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 עִם H5973 which is beside Ephraim אֶפְרָ֑יִם H669 invited וַיִּקְרָ֥א H7121 and Absalom אַבְשָׁל֖וֹם H53 לְכָל H3605 sons בְּנֵ֥י H1121 all the king's הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 24 came וַיָּבֹ֤א H935 And Absalom אַבְשָׁלוֹם֙ H53 אֶל H413 the king הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ H4428 and said וַיֹּ֕אמֶר H559 הִנֵּה H2009 נָ֥א H4994 hath sheepshearers גֹֽזְזִ֖ים H1494 Behold now thy servant עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ H5650 go יֵֽלֶךְ H3212 נָ֥א H4994 the king הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ H4428 Behold now thy servant עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ H5650 עִם H5973 Behold now thy servant עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ H5650 25 said וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 And the king הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ H4428 אֶל H413 to Absalom אַבְשָׁל֗וֹם H53 אַל H408 Nay my son בְּנִי֙ H1121 אַל H408 נָ֤א H4994 נֵלֵךְ֙ H1980 כֻּלָּ֔נוּ H3605 וְלֹ֥א H3808 lest we be chargeable נִכְבַּ֖ד H3513 עָלֶ֑יךָ H5921 unto thee And he pressed וַיִּפְרָץ H6555 בּ֛וֹ H0 וְלֹֽא H3808 him howbeit he would אָבָ֥ה H14 לָלֶ֖כֶת H1980 but blessed וַֽיְבָרֲכֵֽהוּ׃ H1288 26 Then said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 Absalom אַבְשָׁל֔וֹם H53 וָלֹ֕א H3808 יֵֽלֶךְ H1980 נָ֥א H4994 אִתָּ֖נוּ H854 Amnon אַמְנ֣וֹן H550 If not I pray thee let my brother אָחִ֑י H251 Then said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 לוֹ֙ H0 with us And the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 לָ֥מָּה H4100 יֵלֵ֖ךְ H1980 עִמָּֽךְ׃ H5973 27 pressed וַיִּפְרָץ H6555 בּ֖וֹ H0 But Absalom אַבְשָׁל֑וֹם H53 go וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח H7971 אִתּוֹ֙ H854 אֶת H853 him that he let Amnon אַמְנ֔וֹן H550 וְאֵ֖ת H853 כָּל H3605 sons בְּנֵ֥י H1121 and all the king's הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 28 had commanded צִוִּ֣יתִי H6680 Now Absalom אַבְשָׁל֨וֹם H53 אֶת H853 his servants נְעָרָ֜יו H5288 and when I say וְאָֽמַרְתִּ֨י H559 Mark רְא֣וּ H7200 נָ֠א H4994 is merry כְּט֨וֹב H2896 heart לֵב H3820 Amnon אַמְנ֛וֹן H550 with wine בַּיַּ֙יִן֙ H3196 and when I say וְאָֽמַרְתִּ֨י H559 אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם H413 unto you Smite הַכּ֧וּ H5221 אֶת H853 Amnon אַמְנ֛וֹן H550 then kill וַֽהֲמִתֶּ֥ם H4191 אֹת֖וֹ H853 אַל H408 him fear תִּירָ֑אוּ H3372 הֲל֗וֹא H3808 כִּ֤י H3588 אָֽנֹכִי֙ H595 had commanded צִוִּ֣יתִי H6680 אֶתְכֶ֔ם H853 you be courageous חִזְק֖וּ H2388 וִֽהְי֥וּ H1961 and be valiant לִבְנֵי H1121 חָֽיִל׃ H2428 29 did וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֞וּ H6213 And the servants נַֽעֲרֵ֤י H5288 as Absalom אַבְשָׁל֑וֹם H53 unto Amnon לְאַמְנ֔וֹן H550 כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 had commanded צִוָּ֖ה H6680 as Absalom אַבְשָׁל֑וֹם H53 arose וַיָּקֻ֣מוּ׀ H6965 כָּל H3605 sons בְּנֵ֣י H1121 Then all the king's הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ H4428 gat him up וַֽיִּרְכְּב֛וּ H7392 and every man אִ֥ישׁ H376 עַל H5921 upon his mule פִּרְדּ֖וֹ H6505 and fled וַיָּנֻֽסוּ׃ H5127 30 וַֽיְהִי֙ H1961 הֵ֣מָּה H1992 And it came to pass while they were in the way בַדֶּ֔רֶךְ H1870 that tidings וְהַשְּׁמֻעָ֣ה H8052 came בָ֔אָה H935 אֶל H413 to David דָּוִ֖ד H1732 saying לֵאמֹ֑ר H559 hath slain הִכָּ֤ה H5221 Absalom אַבְשָׁלוֹם֙ H53 אֶת H853 כָּל H3605 sons בְּנֵ֣י H1121 all the king's הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 וְלֹֽא H3808 of them left נוֹתַ֥ר H3498 מֵהֶ֖ם H1992 and there is not one אֶחָֽד׃ H259 31 arose וַיָּ֧קָם H6965 Then the king הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ H4428 and tare קְרֻעֵ֥י H7167 אֶת H853 by with their clothes בְגָדִֽים׃ H899 and lay וַיִּשְׁכַּ֣ב H7901 on the earth אָ֑רְצָה H776 וְכָל H3605 and all his servants עֲבָדָ֥יו H5650 stood נִצָּבִ֖ים H5324 and tare קְרֻעֵ֥י H7167 by with their clothes בְגָדִֽים׃ H899 32 answered וַיַּ֡עַן H6030 And Jonadab יֽוֹנָדָ֣ב׀ H3122 sons בְּנֵֽי H1121 of Shimeah שִׁמְעָ֨ה H8093 brother אֲחִֽי H251 David's דָוִ֜ד H1732 and said יֹאמַ֤ר H559 אַל H408 and said יֹאמַ֤ר H559 Let not my lord אֲדֹנִי֙ H113 אֵ֣ת H853 כָּל H3605 all the young men הַנְּעָרִ֤ים H5288 sons בְּנֵֽי H1121 the king's הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 only is dead מֵ֑ת H4191 כִּֽי H3588 for Amnon אַמְנ֥וֹן H550 לְבַדּ֖וֹ H905 only is dead מֵ֑ת H4191 כִּֽי H3588 עַל H5921 for by the appointment פִּ֤י H6310 of Absalom אַבְשָׁלוֹם֙ H53 הָֽיְתָ֣ה H1961 this hath been determined שׂוּמָ֔ה H7760 from the day מִיּוֹם֙ H3117 that he forced עַנֹּת֔וֹ H6031 אֵ֖ת H853 Tamar תָּמָ֥ר H8559 his sister אֲחֹתֽוֹ׃ H269 33 וְעַתָּ֡ה H6258 אַל H408 take יָשֵׂם֩ H7760 Now therefore let not my lord אֲדֹנִ֨י H113 that all the king's הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 אֶל H413 to his heart לִבּוֹ֙ H3820 the thing
