Zeruiah צְרֻיָ֑ה H6870 כִּי H3588 heart לֵ֥ב H3820 that the king's הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 עַל H5921 was toward Absalom אַבְשָׁלֽוֹם׃ H53 2 sent וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח H7971 And Joab יוֹאָב֙ H3097 to Tekoah תְּק֔וֹעָה H8620 and fetched וַיִּקַּ֥ח H3947 מִשָּׁ֖ם H8033 but be as a woman כְּאִשָּׁ֗ה H802 thence a wise חֲכָמָ֑ה H2450 and said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 אֵ֠לֶיהָ H413 mourned מִתְאַבֶּ֖לֶת H56 נָ֞א H4994 and put on מַה H4100 לָּ֑ךְ H0 said וַתֹּ֗אמֶר H559 I am indeed אֲבָ֛ל H61 woman אִשָּֽׁה H802 a widow אַלְמָנָ֥ה H490 אָ֖נִי H589 is dead וַיָּ֥מָת H4191 and mine husband אִישִֽׁי׃ H376 6 And thy handmaid וּלְשִׁפְחָֽתְךָ֙ H8198 and they two שְׁנֵיהֶם֙ H8147 sons בָנִ֔ים H1121 strove together וַיִּנָּצ֤וּ H5327 and they two שְׁנֵיהֶם֙ H8147 in the field בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה H7704 וְאֵ֥ין H369 and there was none to part מַצִּ֖יל H5337 בֵּֽינֵיהֶ֑ם H996 smote וַיַּכּ֧וֹ H5221 the other הָֽאֶחָ֖ד H259 אֶת H853 the other הָֽאֶחָ֖ד H259 and slew וַיָּ֥מֶת H4191 אֹתֽוֹ׃ H853 7 וְהִנֵּה֩ H2009 is risen קָ֨מָה H6965 H5221 his brother אָחִיו֙ H251 that we may kill וּנְמִתֵ֙הוּ֙ H4191 him for the life בְּנֶ֤פֶשׁ H5315 his brother אָחִיו֙ H251 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 whom he slew הָרָ֔ג H2026 and we will destroy וְנַשְׁמִ֖ידָה H430 any more מֵֽהַרְבִּי֞ת H7235 that thou wouldest not suffer the revengers גֹּאֵ֤ל H1350 of blood הַדָּם֙ H1818 to destroy לְשַׁחֵ֔ת H7843 וְלֹ֥א H3808 lest they destroy יַשְׁמִ֖ידוּ H8045 אֶת H853 my son בְּנֵ֖ךְ H1121 And he said וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 liveth חַי H2416 As the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 אִם H518 fall יִפֹּ֛ל H5307 there shall not one hair מִשַּֽׂעֲרַ֥ת H8185 my son בְּנֵ֖ךְ H1121 to the earth אָֽרְצָה׃ H776 12 And he said וַיֹּ֖אמֶר H559 Then the woman הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה H802 I pray thee speak דַּבֵּֽרִי׃ H1696 נָ֧א H4994 Let thine handmaid שִׁפְחָֽתְךָ֛ H8198 אֶל H413 unto my lord אֲדֹנִ֥י H113 the king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 one word דָּבָ֑ר H1697 And he said וַיֹּ֖אמֶר H559 I pray thee speak דַּבֵּֽרִי׃ H1696 13 said וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 And the woman הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה H802 וְלָ֧מָּה H4100 Wherefore then hast thou thought חָשַׁ֛בְתָּה H2803 כָּזֹ֖את H2063 עַל H5921 such a thing against the people עַ֣ם H5971 of God אֱלֹהִ֑ים H430 doth speak וּמִדַּבֵּ֨ר H1696 for the king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 this thing הַדָּבָ֤ר H1697 הַזֶּה֙ H2088 as one which is faulty כְּאָשֵׁ֔ם H818 לְבִלְתִּ֛י H1115 doth not fetch home again הָשִׁ֥יב H7725 for the king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 אֶֽת H853 his banished נִדְּחֽוֹ׃ H5080 14 כִּי H3588 For we must needs נָמ֔וּת H4191 For we must needs נָמ֔וּת H4191 and are as water וְכַמַּ֙יִם֙ H4325 spilt הַנִּגָּרִ֣ים H5064 on the ground אַ֔רְצָה H776 אֲשֶׁ֖ר H834 לֹ֣א H3808 because the people הָעָ֑ם H5971 said וַתֹּ֤אמֶר H559 and thy handmaid שִׁפְחָֽתְךָ֙ H8198 I will now speak אֲדַבְּרָה H1696 נָּ֣א H4994 אֶל H413 it may be that the king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 אוּלַ֛י H194 will perform יַֽעֲשֶׂ֥ה H6213 it may be that the king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 אֶת H853 of this thing דְּבַ֥ר H1697 of his handmaid אֲמָתֽוֹ׃ H519 16 כִּ֚י H3588 will hear יִשְׁמַ֣ע H8085 For the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 to deliver לְהַצִּ֥יל H5337 אֶת H853 his handmaid אֲמָת֖וֹ H519 out of the hand מִכַּ֣ף H3709 of the man הָאִ֑ישׁ H376 that would destroy לְהַשְׁמִ֨יד H8045 אֹתִ֤י H853 וְאֶת H853 me and my son בְּנִי֙ H1121 together יַ֔חַד H3162 out of the inheritance מִֽנַּחֲלַ֖ת H5159 of God אֱלֹהִֽים׃ H430 17 said וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 Then thine handmaid שִׁפְחָ֣תְךָ֔ H8198 יִֽהְיֶה H1961 נָּ֛א H4994 The word דְּבַר H1697 of my lord אֲדֹנִ֤י H113 the king הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 shall now be comfortable לִמְנֻחָ֑ה H4496 כִּ֣י׀ H3588 for as an angel כְּמַלְאַ֣ךְ H4397 of God אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ H430 כֵּ֣ן H3651 of my lord אֲדֹנִ֤י H113 the king הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 to discern לִשְׁמֹ֙עַ֙ H8085 good הַטּ֣וֹב H2896 and bad וְהָרָ֔ע H7451 therefore the LORD וַֽיהוָ֥ה H3068 of God אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ H430 יְהִ֥י H1961 עִמָּֽךְ׃ H5973 18 answered וַיַּ֣עַן H6030 Then the king הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 and said וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 אֶל H413 thee And the woman הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה H802 אַל H408 נָ֨א H4994 Hide תְכַֽחֲדִ֤י H3582 מִמֶּ֙נִּי֙ H4480 not from me I pray thee the thing דָּבָ֔ר H1697 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 אָֽנֹכִ֖י H595 that I shall ask שֹׁאֵ֣ל H7592 אֹתָ֑ךְ H853 and said וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 thee And the woman הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה H802 now speak יְדַבֶּר H1696 נָ֖א H4994 Let my lord אֲדֹנִ֥י H113 Then the king הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 19 and said וַתֹּ֡אמֶר H559 And the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 Is not the hand הֲיַ֥ד H3027 Joab יוֹאָב֙ H3097 אִתָּ֖ךְ H854 בְּכָל H3605 זֹ֑את H2063 answered וַתַּ֣עַן H6030 with thee in all this And the woman הָֽאִשָּׁ֣ה H802 and said וַתֹּ֡אמֶר H559 liveth חֵֽי H2416 As thy soul נַפְשְׁךָ֩ H5315 from ought that my lord אֲדֹנִ֣י H113 And the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 אִם H518 can אִ֣שׁ׀ H786 turn to the right hand לְהֵמִ֣ין H3231 or to the left וּלְהַשְׂמִ֗יל H8041 מִכֹּ֤ל H3605 אֲשֶׁר H834 hath spoken דִּבֶּר֙ H1696 from ought that my lord אֲדֹנִ֣י H113 And the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 כִּֽי H3588 for thy servant עַבְדְּךָ֤ H5650 Joab יוֹאָב֙ H3097 ה֣וּא H1931 he bade צִוָּ֔נִי H6680 וְה֗וּא H1931 me and he put שָׂ֚ם H7760 in the mouth בְּפִ֣י H6310 of thine handmaid שִׁפְחָֽתְךָ֔ H8198 אֵ֥ת H853 כָּל H3605 all these words הַדְּבָרִ֖ים H1697 הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ H428 20 To לְבַֽעֲב֤וּר H5668 fetch about סַבֵּב֙ H5437 אֶת H853 this form פְּנֵ֣י H6440 of speech הַדָּבָ֣ר H1697 done עָשָׂ֛ה H6213 hath thy servant עַבְדְּךָ֥ H5650 Joab יוֹאָ֖ב H3097 אֶת H853 of speech הַדָּבָ֣ר H1697 הַזֶּ֑ה H2088 and my lord וַֽאדֹנִ֣י H113 is wise חָכָ֗ם H2450 according to the wisdom כְּחָכְמַת֙ H2451 of an angel מַלְאַ֣ךְ H4397 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים H430 to know לָדַ֖עַת H3045 אֶֽת H853 כָּל H3605 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 all things that are in the earth בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ H776 21 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 And the king הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 אֶל H413 unto Joab יוֹאָ֔ב H3097 הִנֵּה H2009 נָ֥א H4994 Behold now I have done עָשִׂ֖יתִי H6213 אֶת H853 this thing הַדָּבָ֣ר H1697 הַזֶּ֑ה H2088 וְלֵ֛ךְ H1980 again הָשֵׁ֥ב H7725 אֶת H853 the young man הַנַּ֖עַר H5288 אֶת H853 Absalom אַבְשָׁלֽוֹם׃ H53 22 fell וַיִּפֹּל֩ H5307 And Joab יוֹאָ֡ב H3097 אֶל H413 on his face פָּנָ֥יו H6440 to the ground אַ֛רְצָה H776 and bowed וַיִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ H7812 himself and thanked וַיְבָ֣רֶךְ H1288 אֶת H853 O king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And Joab יוֹאָ֡ב H3097 To day הַיּוֹם֩ H3117 knoweth יָדַ֨ע H3045 of his servant עַבְדֶּֽוָ׃ H5650 כִּֽי H3588 that I have found מָצָ֨אתִי H4672 grace חֵ֤ן H2580 in thy sight בְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ H5869 my lord אֲדֹנִ֣י H113 O king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 אֲשֶׁר H834 hath fulfilled עָשָׂ֥ה H6213 O king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 אֶת H853 the request דְּבַ֥ר H1697 of his servant עַבְדֶּֽוָ׃ H5650 23 arose וַיָּ֥קָם H6965 So Joab יוֹאָ֖ב H3097 וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ H1980 to Geshur גְּשׁ֑וּרָה H1650 and brought וַיָּבֵ֥א H935 אֶת H853 Absalom אַבְשָׁל֖וֹם H53 to Jerusalem יְרֽוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ H3389 24 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 And the king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 Let him turn וַיִּסֹּ֤ב H5437 אֶל H413 to his own house בֵּית֔וֹ H1004 face וּפְנֵ֥י H6440 לֹ֣א H3808 and let him not see רָאָֽה׃ H7200 Let him turn וַיִּסֹּ֤ב H5437 So Absalom אַבְשָׁלוֹם֙ H53 אֶל H413 to his own house בֵּית֔וֹ H1004 face וּפְנֵ֥י H6440 And the king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 לֹ֥א H3808 and let him not see רָאָֽה׃ H7200 25 as Absalom וּכְאַבְשָׁל֗וֹם H53 לֹֽא H3808 הָיָ֧ה H1961 there was none אִישׁ H376 for his beauty יָפֶ֛ה H3303 בְּכָל H3605 But in all Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 praised לְהַלֵּ֣ל H1984 to be so much מְאֹ֑ד H3966 from the sole מִכַּ֤ף H3709 of his foot רַגְלוֹ֙ H7272 וְעַ֣ד H5704 even to the crown of his head קָדְקֳד֔וֹ H6936 לֹא H3808 הָ֥יָה H1961 ב֖וֹ H0 there was no blemish מֽוּם׃ H3971 26 And when he polled וְגִלְּח֑וֹ H1548 אֶת H853 his head רֹאשׁ֔וֹ H7218 וְֽ֠הָיָה H1961 end מִקֵּ֨ץ H7093 for it was at every year's לַיָּמִים֙ H3117 for it was at every year's לַיָּמִים֙ H3117 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 And when he polled וְגִלְּח֑וֹ H1548 כִּֽי H3588 it because the hair was heavy כָבֵ֥ד H3513 עָלָ֖יו H5921 And when he polled וְגִלְּח֑וֹ H1548 it he weighed וְשָׁקַל֙ H8254 אֶת H853 the hair שְׂעַ֣ר H8181 his head רֹאשׁ֔וֹ H7218 at two hundred מָאתַ֥יִם H3967 shekels שְׁקָלִ֖ים H8255 weight בְּאֶ֥בֶן H68 after the king's הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 27 there were born וַיִּוָּֽלְד֤וּ H3205 And unto Absalom לְאַבְשָׁלוֹם֙ H53 three שְׁלוֹשָׁ֣ה H7969 sons בָנִ֔ים H1121 daughter וּבַ֥ת H1323 and one אַחַ֖ת H259 whose name וּשְׁמָ֣הּ H8034 was Tamar תָּמָ֑ר H8559 הִ֣יא H1931 הָֽיְתָ֔ה H1961 she was a woman אִשָּׁ֖ה H802 of a fair יְפַ֥ת H3303 countenance מַרְאֶֽה׃ H4758 28 dwelt וַיֵּ֧שֶׁב H3427 So Absalom אַבְשָׁל֛וֹם H53 in Jerusalem בִּירֽוּשָׁלִַ֖ם H3389 years שְׁנָתַ֣יִם H8141 two full יָמִ֑ים H3117 face וּפְנֵ֥י H6440 not the king's הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 לֹ֥א H3808 and saw רָאָֽה׃ H7200 29 sent וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח H7971 Therefore Absalom אַבְשָׁל֜וֹם H53 אֶל H413 for Joab יוֹאָ֗ב H3097 sent וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח H7971 אֹתוֹ֙ H853 אֶל H413 him to the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 וְלֹ֥א H3808 but he would אָבָ֖ה H14 not come לָבֽוֹא׃ H935 אֵלָ֑יו H413 sent וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח H7971 עוֹד֙ H5750 the second time שֵׁנִ֔ית H8145 וְלֹ֥א H3808 but he would אָבָ֖ה H14 not come לָבֽוֹא׃ H935 30 Therefore he said וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 is near אֶל H413 servants עַבְדֵ֧י H5650 See רְאוּ֩ H7200 field הַחֶלְקָ֖ה H2513 Joab's יוֹאָ֤ב H3097 is near אֶל H413 mine יָדִי֙ H3027 וְלוֹ H0 שָׁ֣ם H8033 and he hath barley שְׂעֹרִ֔ים H8184 לְכ֖וּ H1980 and set וַיַּצִּ֜תוּ H3341 it on fire בָּאֵֽשׁ׃ H784 and set וַיַּצִּ֜תוּ H3341 servants עַבְדֵ֧י H5650 And Absalom's אַבְשָׁל֛וֹם H53 אֶת H853 field הַחֶלְקָ֖ה H2513 it on fire בָּאֵֽשׁ׃ H784 31 arose וַיָּ֣קָם H6965 Then Joab יוֹאָ֔ב H3097 and came וַיָּבֹ֥א H935 אֶל H413 to Absalom אַבְשָׁל֖וֹם H53 unto his house הַבָּ֑יְתָה H1004 and said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 אֵלָ֔יו H413 לָ֣מָּה H4100 set הִצִּ֧יתוּ H3341 unto him Wherefore have thy servants עֲבָדֶ֛יךָ H5650 אֶת H853 my field הַחֶלְקָ֥ה H2513 אֲשֶׁר H834 לִ֖י H0 on fire בָּאֵֽשׁ׃ H784 32 answered לֵאמֹ֗ר H559 And Absalom אַבְשָׁל֣וֹם H53 אֶל H413 Joab יוֹאָ֡ב H3097 הִנֵּ֣ה H2009 Behold I sent וְאֶשְׁלְחָה֩ H7971 אֵלֶ֣יךָ׀ H413 answered לֵאמֹ֗ר H559 Come בָּ֙אתִי֙
