לֹֽא H3808 is not good טוֹבָ֧ה H2896 The counsel הָֽעֵצָ֛ה H6098 אֲשֶׁר H834 hath given יָעַ֥ץ H3289 that Ahithophel אֲחִיתֹ֖פֶל H302 at this time בַּפַּ֥עַם H6471 הַזֹּֽאת׃ H2063 8 For said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 Hushai חוּשַׁ֗י H2365 אַתָּ֣ה H859 thou knowest יָ֠דַעְתָּ H3045 אֶת H853 and thy father וְאָבִ֙יךָ֙ H1 וְאֶת H853 is a man אִ֣ישׁ H376 כִּ֧י H3588 that they be mighty men גִבֹּרִ֣ים H1368 הֵ֗מָּה H1992 and they be chafed וּמָרֵ֥י H4751 in their minds נֶ֙פֶשׁ֙ H5315 הֵ֔מָּה H1992 as a bear כְּדֹ֥ב H1677 robbed שַׁכּ֖וּל H7909 of her whelps in the field בַּשָּׂדֶ֑ה H7704 and thy father וְאָבִ֙יךָ֙ H1 is a man אִ֣ישׁ H376 of war מִלְחָמָ֔ה H4421 וְלֹ֥א H3808 and will not lodge יָלִ֖ין H3885 אֶת H854 with the people הָעָֽם׃ H5971 9 הִנֵּ֨ה H2009 עַתָּ֤ה H6258 הֽוּא H1931 Behold he is hid נֶחְבָּא֙ H2244 now in some בְּאַחַ֣ד H259 pit הַפְּחָתִ֔ים H6354 א֖וֹ H176 now in some בְּאַחַ֣ד H259 other place הַמְּקוֹמֹ֑ת H4725 וְהָיָ֗ה H1961 and it will come to pass when some of with him are valiant חַ֖יִל H2428 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 is as the heart כְּלֵ֥ב H3820 is as the heart כְּלֵ֥ב H3820 of a lion הָֽאַרְיֵ֖ה H738 melt יִמָּ֑ס H4549 melt יִמָּ֑ס H4549 כִּֽי H3588 knoweth יֹדֵ֤עַ אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 where he shall be found נִמְצָ֣א H4672 שָׁ֔ם H8033 וְנַ֣חְנוּ H5117 עָלָ֔יו H5921 כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֛ר H834 falleth יִפֹּ֥ל H5307 upon him as the dew הַטַּ֖ל H2919 עַל H5921 on the ground יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 is better הַטּוֹבָ֔ה H2896 The counsel עֲצַ֤ת H6098 of Hushai חוּשַׁ֣י H2365 the Archite הָֽאַרְכִּ֔י H757 The counsel עֲצַ֤ת H6098 of Ahithophel אֲחִיתֹ֙פֶל֙ H302 For the LORD יְהוָ֛ה H3068 had appointed צִוָּ֗ה H6680 to defeat לְהָפֵ֞ר H6565 אֶת H853 The counsel עֲצַ֤ת H6098 of Ahithophel אֲחִיתֹ֙פֶל֙ H302 is better הַטּוֹבָ֔ה H2896 to the intent לְבַֽעֲב֗וּר H5668 might bring הָבִ֧יא H935 For the LORD יְהוָ֛ה H3068 אֶל H413 And Absalom אַבְשָׁל֖וֹם H53 אֶת H853 evil הָֽרָעָֽה׃ H7451 15 Then said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 Hushai חוּשַׁ֗י H2365 אֶל H413 unto Zadok צָד֤וֹק H6659 וְאֶל H413 and to Abiathar אֶבְיָתָר֙ H54 the priests הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים H3548 כָּזֹ֣את H2063 וְכָזֹ֗את H2063 and thus and thus have I counselled יָעַ֥צְתִּי H3289 Thus and thus did Ahithophel אֲחִיתֹ֙פֶל֙ H302 אֶת H853 Absalom אַבְשָׁלֹ֔ם H53 וְאֵ֖ת H853 and the elders זִקְנֵ֣י H2205 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 וְכָזֹ֥את H2063 וְכָזֹ֖את H2063 and thus and thus have I counselled יָעַ֥צְתִּי H3289 אָֽנִי׃ H589 16 וְעַתָּ֡ה H6258 Now therefore send שִׁלְח֣וּ H7971 quickly מְהֵרָה֩ H4120 and tell וְהַגִּ֨ידוּ H5046 David לְדָוִ֜ד H1732 saying לֵאמֹ֗ר H559 אַל H408 Lodge תָּ֤לֶן H3885 not this night הַלַּ֙יְלָה֙ H3915 in the plains בְּעַֽרְב֣וֹת H6160 of the wilderness הַמִּדְבָּ֔ר H4057 וְגַ֖ם H1571 but speedily תַּֽעֲב֑וֹר H5674 but speedily תַּֽעֲב֑וֹר H5674 פֶּ֚ן H6435 be swallowed up עֹֽמְדִ֣ים H5975 בְּעֵין H0 by Enrogel רֹגֵ֗ל H5883 went יֵֽלְכ֔וּ H1980 and a wench הַשִּׁפְחָה֙ H8198 and told וְהִגִּ֖ידוּ H5046 לָהֶ֔ם H0 וְהֵם֙ H1992 went יֵֽלְכ֔וּ H1980 and told וְהִגִּ֖ידוּ H5046 king לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 David דָּוִ֑ד H1732 כִּ֣י H3588 לֹ֥א H3808 for they might יֽוּכְל֛וּ H3201 not be seen לְהֵֽרָא֖וֹת H7200 to come לָב֥וֹא H935 into the city הָעִֽירָה׃ H5892 18 saw וַיַּ֤רְא H7200 אֹתָם֙ H853 Nevertheless a lad נַ֔עַר H5288 them and told וַיַּגֵּ֖ד H5046 Absalom לְאַבְשָׁלֹ֑ם H53 וַיֵּֽלְכוּ֩ H1980 both שְׁנֵיהֶ֨ם H8147 of them away quickly מְהֵרָ֜ה H4120 and came וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ׀ H935 אֶל H413 house בֵּֽית H1004 to a man's אִ֣ישׁ H376 in Bahurim בְּבַֽחוּרִ֗ים H980 וְל֥וֹ H0 which had a well בְאֵ֛ר H875 in his court בַּֽחֲצֵר֖וֹ H2691 they went down וַיֵּ֥רְדוּ H3381 whither שָֽׁם׃ H8033 19 took וַתִּקַּ֣ח H3947 And the woman הָֽאִשָּׁ֗ה H802 and spread וַתִּפְרֹ֤שׂ H6566 אֶת H853 a covering הַמָּסָךְ֙ H4539 עַל H5921 mouth פְּנֵ֣י H6440 over the well's הַבְּאֵ֔ר H875 and spread וַתִּשְׁטַ֥ח H7849 עָלָ֖יו H5921 ground corn הָֽרִפ֑וֹת H7383 וְלֹ֥א H3808 was not known נוֹדַ֖ע H3045 thereon and the thing דָּבָֽר׃ H1697 20 came וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ H935 servants עַבְדֵי֩ H5650 And when Absalom's אַבְשָׁל֨וֹם H53 אֶֽל H413 And the woman הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה H802 to the house הַבַּ֗יְתָה H1004 said וַתֹּ֤אמֶר H559 אַיֵּ֗ה H346 Where is Ahimaaz אֲחִימַ֙עַץ֙ H290 and Jonathan וִיה֣וֹנָתָ֔ן H3083 said וַתֹּ֤אמֶר H559 לָהֶם֙ H0 And the woman הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה H802 unto them They be gone over עָֽבְר֖וּ H5674 the brook מִיכַ֣ל H4323 of water הַמָּ֑יִם H4325 And when they had sought וַיְבַקְשׁוּ֙ H1245 וְלֹ֣א H3808 and could not find מָצָ֔אוּ H4672 them they returned וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּ H7725 to Jerusalem יְרֽוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ H3389 21 וַיְהִ֣י׀ H1961 And it came to pass after H3289 עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם H5921 for thus hath Ahithophel אֲחִיתֹֽפֶל׃ H302 22 arose וַיָּ֣קָם H6965 Then David דָּוִ֗ד H1732 וְכָל H3605 and all the people הָעָם֙ H5971 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 אִתּ֔וֹ H854 of them that followed נֶֽעֶשְׂתָה֮ H6213 that his counsel עֲצָתוֹ֒ H6098 he saddled וַיַּֽחֲבֹ֣שׁ H2280 אֶֽת H853 his ass הַחֲמ֗וֹר H2543 and arose וַיָּ֜קָם H6965 and gat him home וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ H3212 אֶל H413 and put his household בֵּית֖וֹ H1004 אֶל H413 to his city עִיר֔וֹ H5892 in order וַיְצַ֥ו H6680 אֶל H413 and put his household בֵּית֖וֹ H1004 and hanged וַיֵּֽחָנַ֑ק H2614 himself and died וַיָּ֕מָת H4191
