scattered נָפ֖צֶוֹת H6327 עַל H5921 over the face פְּנֵ֣י H6440 כָל H3605 of all the country הָאָ֑רֶץ H776 more וַיֶּ֤רֶב H7235 and the wood הַיַּ֙עַר֙ H3293 devoured אָֽכְלָ֛ה H398 people בָּעָ֔ם Absalom אַבְשָׁלֹ֔ם H53 hanged תָּל֖וּי H8518 in an oak בָּֽאֵלָֽה׃ H424 11 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And Joab יוֹאָ֗ב H3097 unto the man לָאִישׁ֙ H376 that told הַמַּגִּ֣יד H5046 ל֔וֹ H0 וְהִנֵּ֣ה H2009 him And behold thou sawest רָאִ֔יתָ H7200 וּמַדּ֛וּעַ H4069 לֹֽא H3808 him and why didst thou not smite הִכִּית֥וֹ H5221 שָׁ֖ם H8033 him there to the ground אָ֑רְצָה H776 וְעָלַ֗י H5921 and I would have given לָ֤תֶת H5414 לְךָ֙ H0 thee ten עֲשָׂ֣רָה H6235 shekels of silver כֶ֔סֶף H3701 girdle וַֽחֲגֹרָ֖ה H2290 and a אֶחָֽת׃ H259 12 said לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 And the man הָאִישׁ֙ H376 אֶל H413 unto Joab the people הָעָֽם׃ H5971 from pursuing מִרְדֹ֖ף H7291 after אַֽחֲרֵ֣י H310 Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 כִּֽי H3588 held back חָשַׂ֥ךְ H2820 And Joab יוֹאָ֖ב H3097 אֶת H853 and the people הָעָֽם׃ H5971 17 And they took וַיִּקְח֣וּ H3947 אֶת H853 Absalom אַבְשָׁל֗וֹם H53 and cast וַיַּשְׁלִ֨כוּ H7993 אֹת֤וֹ H853 in the wood בַיַּ֙עַר֙ H3293 אֶל H413 pit הַפַּ֣חַת H6354 great גָּד֣וֹל H1419 and laid וַיַּצִּ֧בוּ H5324 עָלָ֛יו H5921 heap גַּל H1530 of stones אֲבָנִ֖ים H68 great גָּד֣וֹל H1419 a very מְאֹ֑ד H3966 וְכָל H3605 upon him and all Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 fled נָ֖סוּ H5127 every one לַמַּצֶּ֙בֶת֙ H4678 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 dale בְּעֵֽמֶק H6010 which is in the king's הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 כִּ֤י H3588 for he said אָמַר֙ H559 אֵֽין H369 לִ֣י H0 I have no son בֵ֔ן H1121 בַּֽעֲב֖וּר H5668 in remembrance הַזְכִּ֣יר H2142 after his own name שְׁמ֔וֹ H8034 and he called וַיִּקָּ֤רֵא H7121 for himself a pillar לַמַּצֶּ֙בֶת֙ H4678 עַל H5921 after his own name שְׁמ֔וֹ H8034 and he called וַיִּקָּ֤רֵא H7121 לָהּ֙ H0 place יַ֣ד H3027 Absalom's אַבְשָׁל֔וֹם H53 עַ֖ד H5704 unto this day הַיּ֥וֹם H3117 הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 19 Ahimaaz וַֽאֲחִימַ֤עַץ H290 the son בֶּן H1121 of Zadok צָדוֹק֙ H6659 Then said אָמַ֔ר H559 Let me now run אָר֣וּצָה H7323 נָּ֔א H4994 and bear וַֽאֲבַשְּׂרָ֖ה H1319 אֶת H853 the king הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 כִּֽי H3588 hath avenged שְׁפָט֥וֹ H8199 how that the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 him of his enemies מִיַּ֥ד H3027 אֹֽיְבָֽיו׃ H341 20 said וַיֹּ֧אמֶר H559 ל֣וֹ H0 And Joab יוֹאָ֗ב H3097 לֹא֩ H3808 unto him Thou אִ֨ישׁ H376 shalt not bear tidings בְּשֹׂרָ֤ה H1309 אַתָּה֙ H859 but this day וְהַיּ֤וֹם H3117 הַזֶּ֔ה H2088 but thou shalt bear tidings תְבַשֵּׂ֔ר H1319 but this day וְהַיּ֤וֹם H3117 another אַחֵ֑ר H312 but this day וְהַיּ֤וֹם H3117 הַזֶּה֙ H2088 לֹ֣א H3808 but thou shalt bear tidings תְבַשֵּׂ֔ר H1319 כִּֽי H3588 עַל H5921 son בֶּן H1121 because the king's הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 is dead מֵֽת׃ H4191 21 Then said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 Joab לְיוֹאָ֖ב H3097 And Cushi כוּשִׁ֛י H3569 לֵ֛ךְ H1980 tell הַגֵּ֥ד H5046 the king לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 what thou hast seen רָאִ֑יתָה H7200 bowed וַיִּשְׁתַּ֧חוּ H7812 And Cushi כוּשִׁ֛י H3569 Joab לְיוֹאָ֖ב H3097 and ran וַיָּרֹֽץ׃ H7323 22 yet again וַיֹּ֨סֶף H3254 ע֜וֹד H5750 Ahimaaz אֲחִימַ֤עַץ H290 my son בְּנִ֔י H1121 of Zadok צָדוֹק֙ H6659 Then said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 אֶל H413 And Joab יוֹאָ֗ב H3097 וִ֣יהִי H1961 But howsoever לָֽמָּה H4100 Wherefore wilt thou run רָץ֙ H7323 נָּ֥א H4994 גַם H1571 אָ֖נִי H589 after אַֽחֲרֵ֣י H310 Cushi הַכּוּשִׁ֑י H3569 Then said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And Joab יוֹאָ֗ב H3097 But cried וַיִּקְרָ֤א H7121 And the watchman הַצֹּפֶה֙ H6822 and told וַיַּגֵּ֣ד H5046 And the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 אִם H518 לְבַדּ֖וֹ H905 If he be alone there is tidings בְּשׂוֹרָ֣ה H1309 in his mouth בְּפִ֑יו H6310 apace הָל֖וֹךְ H1980 apace הָל֖וֹךְ H1980 and drew near וְקָרֵֽב׃ H7131 26 saw וַיַּ֣רְא H7200 And the watchman הַצֹּפֶה֙ H6822 Behold another man אִ֖ישׁ H376 another אַחֵ֣ר H312 running רָ֣ץ H7323 called וַיִּקְרָ֤א H7121 And the watchman הַצֹּפֶה֙ H6822 אֶל H413 unto the porter הַשֹּׁעֵ֔ר H7778 and said וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 הִנֵּה H2009 Behold another man אִ֖ישׁ H376 running רָ֣ץ H7323 לְבַדּ֑וֹ H905 and said וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 alone And the king הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ H4428 גַּם H1571 זֶ֥ה H2088 He also bringeth tidings מְבַשֵּֽׂר׃ H1319 27 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 And the watchman הַצֹּפֶ֔ה H6822 אֲנִ֤י H589 Me thinketh רֹאֶה֙ H7200 אֶת H853 is like the running כִּמְרֻצַ֖ת H4794 of the foremost הָֽרִאשׁ֔וֹן H7223 is like the running כִּמְרֻצַ֖ת H4794 of Ahimaaz אֲחִימַ֣עַץ H290 the son בֶּן H1121 of Zadok צָד֑וֹק H6659 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 And the king הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 man אִֽישׁ H376 He is a good טוֹבָ֖ה H2896 זֶ֔ה H2088 וְאֶל H413 tidings בְּשׂוֹרָ֥ה H1309 He is a good טוֹבָ֖ה H2896 and cometh יָבֽוֹא׃ H935 28 called וַיִּקְרָ֣א H7121 And Ahimaaz אֲחִימַ֗עַץ H290 and said וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 אֶל H413 before the king הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 All is well שָׁל֔וֹם H7965 And he fell down וַיִּשְׁתַּ֧חוּ H7812 before the king הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ H4428 upon his face לְאַפָּ֖יו H639 to the earth אָ֑רְצָה H776 and said וַיֹּ֗אמֶר לַנַּ֖עַר H5288 Absalom לְאַבְשָׁל֑וֹם H53 answered וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And Ahimaaz אֲחִימַ֡עַץ H290 I saw רָאִיתִי֩ H7200 tumult הֶֽהָמ֨וֹן H1995 a great הַגָּד֜וֹל H1419 sent לִ֠שְׁלֹחַ H7971 אֶת H853 and me thy servant עַבְדֶּ֔ךָ H5650 And the king הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ H4428 When Joab יוֹאָב֙ H3097 וְאֶת H853 and me thy servant עַבְדֶּ֔ךָ H5650 וְלֹ֥א H3808 but I knew יָדַ֖עְתִּי H3045 מָֽה׃ H4100 30 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And the king הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 And he turned aside וַיִּסֹּ֖ב H5437 and stand הִתְיַצֵּ֣ב H3320 here כֹּ֑ה H3541 And he turned aside וַיִּסֹּ֖ב H5437 and stood still וַֽיַּעֲמֹֽד׃ H5975
