and he reigned מָלָֽךְ׃ H4427 forty אַרְבָּעִ֥ים H705 years שָׁנָ֖ה H8141 and he reigned מָלָֽךְ׃ H4427 5 In Hebron בְּחֶבְרוֹן֙ H2275 he reigned מָלַ֗ךְ H4427 עַל H5921 and Judah וִֽיהוּדָֽה׃ H3063 seven שֶׁ֥בַע H7651 years שָׁנָ֔ה H8141 and six וְשִׁשָּׁ֣ה H8337 months חֳדָשִׁ֑ים H2320 and in Jerusalem וּבִירֽוּשָׁלִַ֣ם H3389 he reigned מָלַ֗ךְ H4427 thirty שְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים H7970 and three וְשָׁלֹשׁ֙ H7969 years שָׁנָ֔ה H8141 עַ֥ל H5921 כָּל H3605 over all Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 and Judah וִֽיהוּדָֽה׃ H3063 6 וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ H1980 And the king הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ H4428 וַֽאֲנָשָׁיו֙ H376 to Jerusalem יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם H3389 אֶל H413 unto the Jebusites הַיְבֻסִ֖י H2983 the inhabitants יוֹשֵׁ֣ב H3427 of the land הָאָ֑רֶץ H776 hither thinking לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 David דָוִ֖ד H1732 hither thinking thinking לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 לֹֽא H3808 cannot come in יָב֥וֹא H935 David דָוִ֖ד H1732 הֵֽנָּה׃ H2008 7 took וַיִּלְכֹּ֣ד H3920 Nevertheless David דָּוִֽד׃ H1732 אֵ֖ת H853 the strong hold מְצֻדַ֣ת H4686 of Zion צִיּ֑וֹן H6726 הִ֖יא H1931 the same is the city עִ֥יר H5892 Nevertheless David דָּוִֽד׃ H1732 8 he shall be chief and captain Wherefore they said יֹֽאמְר֔וּ H559 And David דָּוִ֑ד H1732 on that day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 הַה֗וּא H1931 כָּל H3605 and smiteth מַכֵּ֤ה H5221 the Jebusites יְבֻסִי֙ H2983 Whosoever getteth up וְיִגַּ֣ע H5060 to the gutter בַּצִּנּ֔וֹר H6794 וְאֶת H853 and the lame וּפִסֵּ֔חַ H6455 וְאֶת H853 The blind עִוֵּ֣ר H5787 that are hated שְׂנֻאֵ֖ו H8130 soul נֶ֣פֶשׁ H5315 And David דָּוִ֑ד H1732 עַל H5921 כֵּן֙ H3651 he shall be chief and captain Wherefore they said in the fort בַּמְּצֻדָ֔ה H4686 and called וַיִּקְרָא H7121 לָ֖הּ H0 it the city עִ֣יר H5892 And David דָּוִד֙ H1732 built וַיִּ֤בֶן H1129 And David דָּוִד֙ H1732 round about סָבִ֔יב H5439 מִן H4480 from Millo הַמִּלּ֖וֹא H4407 and inward וָבָֽיְתָה׃ H1004 10 went וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ H3212 And David דָּוִ֖ד H1732 on הָל֣וֹךְ H1980 and grew great וְגָד֑וֹל H1419 and the LORD וַֽיהוָ֛ה H3068 God אֱלֹהֵ֥י H430 of hosts צְבָא֖וֹת H6635 עִמּֽוֹ׃ H5973 11 sent וַ֠יִּשְׁלַח H7971 And Hiram חִירָ֨ם H2438 king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Tyre צֹ֥ר H6865 messengers מַלְאָכִים֮ H4397 אֶל H413 David לְדָוִֽד׃ H1732 trees עֵ֔ץ H6086 and cedar אֲרָזִ֔ים H730 and carpenters וְחָֽרָשֵׁ֖י H2796 trees עֵ֔ץ H6086 and carpenters וְחָֽרָשֵׁ֖י H2796 אֶ֣בֶן H68 and masons קִ֑יר H7023 and they built וַיִּבְנוּ H1129 an house בַ֖יִת H1004 David לְדָוִֽד׃ H1732 12 perceived וַיֵּ֣דַע H3045 And David דָּוִ֔ד H1732 כִּֽי H3588 had established הֱכִינ֧וֹ H3559 that the LORD יְהוָ֛ה H3068 him king לְמֶ֖לֶךְ H4428 עַל H5921 Israel's יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 וְכִי֙ H3588 and that he had exalted נִשֵּׂ֣א H5375 his kingdom מַמְלַכְתּ֔וֹ H4467 בַּֽעֲב֖וּר H5668 for his people עַמּ֥וֹ H5971 Israel's יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 13 took וַיִּקַּח֩ H3947 And David לְדָוִ֖ד H1732 ע֜וֹד H5750 him more concubines פִּֽלַגְשִׁ֤ים H6370 and wives וְנָשִׁים֙ H802 out of Jerusalem מִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם H3389 after אַֽחֲרֵ֖י H310 he was come בֹּא֣וֹ H935 from Hebron מֵֽחֶבְר֑וֹן H2275 born וַיִּוָּ֥לְדוּ H3205 ע֛וֹד H5750 And David לְדָוִ֖ד H1732 and there were yet sons בָּנִ֥ים H1121 and daughters וּבָנֽוֹת׃ H1323 14 וְאֵ֗לֶּה H428 And these be the names שְׁמ֛וֹת H8034 of those that were born הַיִּלֹּדִ֥ים H3209 ל֖וֹ H0 unto him in Jerusalem בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם H3389 Shammua שַׁמּ֣וּעַ H8051 and Shobab וְשׁוֹבָ֔ב H7727 and Nathan וְנָתָ֖ן H5416 and Solomon וּשְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ H8010 15 Ibhar וְיִבְחָ֥ר H2984 also and Elishua וֶֽאֱלִישׁ֖וּעַ H474 and Nepheg וְנֶ֥פֶג H5298 and Japhia וְיָפִֽיעַ׃ H3309 16 And Elishama וֶאֱלִֽישָׁמָ֥ע H476 and Eliada וְאֶלְיָדָ֖ע H450 and Eliphalet וֶֽאֱלִיפָֽלֶט׃ H467 17 heard וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע H8085 But when the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים H6430 כִּֽי H3588 that they had anointed מָשְׁח֨וּ H4886 אֶת H853 David דָּוִ֔ד H1732 king לְמֶ֙לֶךְ֙ H4428 עַל H5921 over Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 came up וַיַּֽעֲל֥וּ H5927 כָל H3605 But when the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים H6430 to seek לְבַקֵּ֣שׁ H1245 אֶת H853 David דָּוִ֔ד H1732 heard וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע H8085 David דָּוִ֔ד H1732 of it and went down וַיֵּ֖רֶד H3381 אֶל H413 to the hold הַמְּצוּדָֽה׃ H4686 18 The Philistines וּפְלִשְׁתִּ֖ים H6430 also came בָּ֑אוּ H935 and spread וַיִּנָּֽטְשׁ֖וּ H5203 themselves in the valley בְּעֵ֥מֶק H6010 of Rephaim רְפָאִֽים׃ H7497 19 enquired וַיִּשְׁאַ֨ל H7592 And David דָּוִד֙ H1732 And the LORD יְהוָ֤ה H3068 said וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 Go up עֲלֵ֔ה H5927 אֶל H413 the Philistines הַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים H6430 deliver אֶתֵּ֛ן H5414 into thine hand בְּיָדֶֽךָ׃ H3027 said וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 And the LORD יְהוָ֤ה H3068 אֶל H413 And David דָּוִד֙ H1732 Go up עֲלֵ֔ה H5927 כִּֽי H3588 deliver אֶתֵּ֛ן H5414 deliver אֶתֵּ֛ן H5414 אֶת H853 the Philistines הַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים H6430 into thine hand בְּיָדֶֽךָ׃ H3027 20 came וַיָּבֹ֨א H935 And David דָּוִד֒ H1732 בְּבַֽעַל H0 Baalperazim פְּרָצִֽים׃ H1188 smote וַיַּכֵּ֣ם H5221 שָׁ֣ם H8033 And David דָּוִד֒ H1732 them there and said וַיֹּ֕אמֶר H559 hath broken forth פָּרַ֨ץ H6555 The LORD יְהוָ֧ה H3068 אֶת H853 upon mine enemies אֹֽיְבַ֛י H341 before לְפָנַ֖י H6440 me as the breach כְּפֶ֣רֶץ H6556 of waters מָ֑יִם H4325 עַל H5921 כֵּ֗ן H3651 Therefore he called קָרָ֛א H7121 the name שֵֽׁם H8034 of that place הַמָּק֥וֹם H4725 הַה֖וּא H1931 בַּ֥עַל H0 Baalperazim פְּרָצִֽים׃ H1188 21 And there they left וַיַּֽעַזְבוּ H5800 שָׁ֖ם H8033 אֶת H853 their images עֲצַבֵּיהֶ֑ם H6091 burned וַיִּשָּׂאֵ֥ם H5375 and David דָּוִ֖ד H1732 and his men וַֽאֲנָשָֽׁיו׃ H582 22 yet again וַיֹּסִ֥פוּ H3254 ע֛וֹד H5750 And the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים H6430 came up לַֽעֲל֑וֹת H5927 and spread וַיִּנָּֽטְשׁ֖וּ H5203 themselves in the valley בְּעֵ֥מֶק H6010 of Rephaim רְפָאִֽים׃ H7497 23 enquired וַיִּשְׁאַ֤ל H7592 And when David דָּוִד֙ H1732 of the LORD בַּֽיהוָ֔ה H3068 he said וַיֹּ֖אמֶר H559 לֹ֣א H3808 Thou shalt not go up תַֽעֲלֶ֑ה H5927 but fetch a compass הָסֵב֙ H5437 אֶל H413 behind אַ֣חֲרֵיהֶ֔ם H310 them and come וּבָ֥אתָ H935 לָהֶ֖ם H0 upon them over against מִמּ֥וּל H4136 the mulberry trees בְּכָאִֽים׃ H1057 24 וִ֠יהִי H1961 And let it be when thou hearest בְּֽשָׁמְעֲךָ֞ H8085 אֶת H853 the sound ק֧וֹל H6963 of a going צְעָדָ֛ה H6807 in the tops בְּרָאשֵׁ֥י H7218 of the mulberry trees הַבְּכָאִ֖ים H1057 אָ֣ז H227 that then thou shalt bestir תֶּֽחֱרָ֑ץ H2782 כִּ֣י H3588 אָ֗ז H227 go out יָצָ֤א H3318 thyself for then shall the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 before לְפָנֶ֔יךָ H6440 thee to smite לְהַכּ֖וֹת H5221 the host בְּמַֽחֲנֵ֥ה H4264 of the Philistines פְלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ H6430 25 did so וַיַּ֤עַשׂ H6213 And David דָּוִד֙ H1732 כֵּ֔ן H3651 כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 had commanded
