who knoweth יוֹדֵ֖עַ H3045 the interpretation פֵּ֣שֶׁר H6592 of a thing דָּבָ֑ר H1697 wisdom חָכְמַ֤ת H2451 a man's אָדָם֙ H120 to shine תָּאִ֣יר H215 maketh his face פָּנָ֖יו H6440 and the boldness וְעֹ֥ז H5797 maketh his face פָּנָ֖יו H6440 shall be changed יְשֻׁנֶּֽא׃ H8132 2 אֲנִי֙ H589 commandment פִּי H6310 the king's מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 I counsel thee to keep שְׁמֹ֔ר H8104 וְעַ֕ל H5921 and that man's חָכָֽם׃ H2450 6 כִּ֣י H3588 לְכָל H3605 Because to every purpose חֵ֔פֶץ H2656 there is יֵ֖שׁ H3426 time עֵ֣ת H6256 and judgment וּמִשְׁפָּ֑ט H4941 כִּֽי H3588 therefore the misery רָעַ֥ת H7451 of man הָאָדָ֖ם H120 is great רַבָּ֥ה H7227 עָלָֽיו׃ H5921 7 כִּֽי H3588 אֵינֶ֥נּוּ H369 For he knoweth יֹדֵ֖עַ H3045 מַה H4100 שֶּׁיִּֽהְיֶ֑ה H1961 כִּ֚י H3588 כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 יִֽהְיֶ֔ה H1961 מִ֖י H4310 not that which shall be for who can tell יַגִּ֥יד H5046 לֽוֹ׃ H0 8 אֵ֣ין H369 There is no man אָדָ֞ם H120 that hath power שַׁלִּ֤יט H7989 over the spirit הָר֔וּחַ H7307 to retain לִכְל֣וֹא H3607 אֶת H853 over the spirit הָר֔וּחַ H7307 וְאֵ֤ין H369 neither hath he power שִׁלְטוֹן֙ H7983 in the day בְּי֣וֹם H3117 of death הַמָּ֔וֶת H4194 וְאֵ֥ין H369 and there is no discharge מִשְׁלַ֖חַת H4917 in that war בַּמִּלְחָמָ֑ה H4421 וְלֹֽא H3808 deliver יְמַלֵּ֥ט H4422 neither shall wickedness רֶ֖שַׁע H7562 אֶת H853 those that are given בְּעָלָֽיו׃ H1167 9 אֶת H853 כָּל H3605 זֶ֤ה H2088 All this have I seen רָאִ֙יתִי֙ H7200 and applied וְנָת֣וֹן H5414 אֶת H853 my heart לִבִּ֔י H3820 לְכָֽל H3605 unto every work מַעֲשֶׂ֔ה H4639 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 that is done נַעֲשָׂ֖ה H6213 תַּ֣חַת H8478 under the sun הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ H8121 there is a time עֵ֗ת H6256 אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 ruleth שָׁלַ֧ט H7980 wherein one man בְּאָדָ֖ם H120 wherein one man בְּאָדָ֖ם H120 over another to his own hurt לְרַ֥ע H7451 לֽוֹ׃ H0 10 And so כֵּן H3651 I saw רָאִיתִי֩ H7200 the wicked רְשָׁעִ֨ים H7563 buried קְבֻרִ֜ים H6912 who had come וָבָ֗אוּ H935 from the place וּמִמְּק֤וֹם H4725 of the holy קָדוֹשׁ֙ H6918 and gone יְהַלֵּ֔כוּ H1980 and they were forgotten וְיִֽשְׁתַּכְּח֥וּ H7911 in the city בָעִ֖יר H5892 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 And so כֵּן H3651 where they had so done עָשׂ֑וּ H6213 גַּם H1571 זֶ֖ה H2088 this is also vanity הָֽבֶל׃ H1892 11 אֲשֶׁר֙ H834 אֵין H369 in them to do לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת H6213 Because sentence פִתְגָ֔ם H6599 work מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה H4639 against an evil רָֽע׃ H7451 speedily מְהֵרָ֑ה H4120 עַל H5921 כֵּ֡ן H3651 is fully set מָלֵ֞א H4390 therefore the heart לֵ֧ב H3820 of the sons בְּֽנֵי H1121 of men הָאָדָ֛ם H120 בָּהֶ֖ם H0 in them to do לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת H6213 against an evil רָֽע׃ H7451 12 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 Though a sinner חֹטֶ֗א H2398 do עֹשֶׂ֥ה H6213 evil רָ֛ע H7451 an hundred times מְאַ֖ת H3967 and his days be prolonged וּמַאֲרִ֣יךְ H748 ל֑וֹ H0 כִּ֚י H3588 גַּם H1571 yet surely I know יוֹדֵ֣עַ H3045 אָ֔נִי H589 אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 יִהְיֶה H1961 that it shall be well טּוֹב֙ H2896 which fear יִֽירְא֖וּ H3372 God הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים H430 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which fear יִֽירְא֖וּ H3372 before מִלְּפָנָֽיו׃ H6440 13 But it shall not be well וְטוֹב֙ H2896 לֹֽא H3808 יִהְיֶ֣ה H1961 with the wicked לָֽרָשָׁ֔ע H7563 וְלֹֽא H3808 neither shall he prolong יַאֲרִ֥יךְ H748 his days יָמִ֖ים H3117 which are as a shadow כַּצֵּ֑ל H6738 אֲשֶׁ֛ר H834 אֵינֶ֥נּוּ H369 because he feareth יָרֵ֖א H3373 not before מִלִּפְנֵ֥י H6440 God אֱלֹהִֽים׃ H430 14 There is וְיֵ֣שׁ H3426 a vanity הָֽבֶל׃ H1892 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which is done נַעֲשָׂ֣ה H6213 עַל H5921 upon the earth הָאָרֶץ֒ H776 אֲשֶׁ֣ר׀ H834 There is וְיֵ֣שׁ H3426 of the righteous הַצַּדִּיקִ֑ים H6662 אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 men to whom it happeneth שֶׁמַּגִּ֥יעַ H5060 אֲלֵהֶם֙ H413 according to the work כְּמַעֲשֵׂ֣ה H4639 of the wicked רְשָׁעִ֔ים H7563 There is וְיֵ֣שׁ H3426 of the wicked רְשָׁעִ֔ים H7563 men to whom it happeneth שֶׁמַּגִּ֥יעַ H5060 אֲלֵהֶ֖ם H413 according to the work כְּמַעֲשֵׂ֣ה H4639 of the righteous הַצַּדִּיקִ֑ים H6662 I said אָמַ֕רְתִּי H559 that this also שֶׁגַּם H1571 זֶ֖ה H2088 a vanity הָֽבֶל׃ H1892 15 Then I commended וְשִׁבַּ֤חְתִּֽי H7623 אֲנִי֙ H589 אֶת H853 mirth הַשִּׂמְחָ֔ה H8057 אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 אֵֽין H369 hath no better thing ט֤וֹב H2896 because a man לָֽאָדָם֙ H120 תַּ֣חַת H8478 him under the sun הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃ H8121 כִּ֛י H3588 אִם H518 than to eat לֶאֱכֹ֥ל H398 and to drink וְלִשְׁתּ֖וֹת H8354 and to be merry וְלִשְׂמ֑וֹחַ H8055 וְה֞וּא H1931 for that shall abide יִלְוֶ֣נּוּ H3867 with him of his labour בַעֲמָל֗וֹ H5999 the days יְמֵ֥י H3117 of his life חַיָּ֛יו H2416 אֲשֶׁר H834 giveth נָֽתַן H5414 ל֥וֹ H0 which God הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 תַּ֥חַת H8478 him under the sun הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃ H8121 16 כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 When I applied נָתַ֤תִּי H5414 אֶת H853 mine heart לִבִּי֙ H3820 to know לָדַ֣עַת H3045 wisdom חָכְמָ֔ה H2451 and to see רֹאֶֽה׃ H7200 אֶת H853 the business הָ֣עִנְיָ֔ן H6045 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 that is done נַעֲשָׂ֖ה H6213 עַל H5921 upon the earth הָאָ֑רֶץ H776 כִּ֣י H3588 גַ֤ם H1571 for also there is that neither day בַּיּוֹם֙ H3117 nor night וּבַלַּ֔יְלָה H3915 sleep שֵׁנָ֕ה H8142 with his eyes בְּעֵינָ֖יו H5869 אֵינֶ֥נּוּ H369 and to see רֹאֶֽה׃ H7200 17 Then I beheld וְרָאִיתִי֮ H7200 אֶת H853 כָּל H3605 all the work הַֽמַּעֲשֶׂה֙ H4639 of God הָאֱלֹהִים֒ H430 כִּי֩ H3588 לֹ֨א H3808 cannot יוּכַ֖ל H3201 a man הָאָדָ֛ם H120 find out לִמְצֹֽא׃ H4672 אֶת H853 all the work הַֽמַּעֲשֶׂה֙ H4639 because אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 that is done נַעֲשָׂ֣ה H6213 תַֽחַת H8478 under the sun הַשֶּׁ֔מֶשׁ H8121 though בְּ֠שֶׁל H7945 because אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 labour יַעֲמֹ֧ל H5998 a man הָאָדָ֛ם H120 to seek it out לְבַקֵּ֖שׁ H1245 וְלֹ֣א H3808 find out לִמְצֹֽא׃ H4672 וְגַ֨ם H1571 אִם H518 man think יֹאמַ֤ר H559 it yea further
