H6573 of the letter אִ֠גַּרְתָּא H104 דִּֽי H1768 sent שְׁלַ֞ח H7972 that Tatnai תַּתְּנַ֣י׀ H8674 governor פַּחַ֣ת H6347 on this side בַּֽעֲבַ֣ר H5675 the river נַֽהֲרָ֑ה H5103 וּשְׁתַ֤ר H0 and Shetharboznai בּֽוֹזְנַי֙ H8370 and his companions וּכְנָ֣וָתֵ֔הּ H3675 the Apharsachites אֲפַ֨רְסְכָיֵ֔א H671 דִּ֖י H1768 on this side בַּֽעֲבַ֣ר H5675 the river נַֽהֲרָ֑ה H5103 unto עַל H5922 Darius דָּֽרְיָ֖וֶשׁ H1868 the king מַלְכָּֽא׃ H4430 7 a letter פִּתְגָמָ֖א H6600 They sent שְׁלַ֣חוּ H7972 unto עֲל֑וֹהִי H5922 thus וְכִדְנָה֙ H1836 was written כְּתִ֣יב H3790 him wherein בְּגַוֵּ֔הּ H1459 went אֲזַ֜לְנָא H236 of Judea לִיה֤וּד H3061 into the province מְדִֽינְתָּא֙ H4083 to the house לְבֵית֙ H1005 God אֱלָהָ֣א H426 of the great רַבָּ֔א H7229 וְה֤וּא H1932 which is builded מִתְבְּנֵא֙ H1124 stones אֶ֣בֶן H69 with great גְּלָ֔ל H1560 and timber וְאָ֖ע H636 is laid מִתְּשָׂ֣ם H7761 in the walls בְּכֻתְלַיָּ֑א H3797 work וַֽעֲבִ֥ידְתָּא H5673 and this דָ֛ךְ H1791 fast אָסְפַּ֥רְנָא H629 goeth מִתְעַבְדָ֖א H5648 on and prospereth וּמַצְלַ֥ח H6744 in their hands בְּיֶדְהֹֽם׃ H3028 9 Then אֱדַ֗יִן H116 asked שְׁאֵ֙לְנָא֙ H7593 elders לְשָֽׂבַיָּ֣א H7868 we those אִלֵּ֔ךְ H479 unto them thus כְּנֵ֖מָא H3660 and said אֲמַ֣רְנָא H560 לְּהֹ֑ם H0 Who מַן H4479 commanded שָׂ֨ם H7761 לְכֹ֜ם H0 טְעֵ֗ם H2942 house בַּיְתָ֤א H1005 these דְנָ֖ה H1836 you to build לְמִבְנְיָ֔ה H1124 walls וְאֻשַּׁרְנָ֥א H846 these דְנָ֖ה H1836 and to make up לְשַׁכְלָלָֽה׃ H3635 10 also וְאַ֧ף H638 the names שֻׁם H8036 We asked שְׁאֵ֥לְנָא H7593 לְּהֹ֖ם H0 to certify לְהוֹדָֽעוּתָ֑ךְ H3046 דִּ֛י H1768 thee that we might write נִכְתֻּ֥ב H3790 the names שֻׁם H8036 of the men גֻּבְרַיָּ֖א H1400 דִּ֥י H1768 that were the chief בְרָֽאשֵׁיהֹֽם׃ H7217 11 And thus וּכְנֵ֥מָא H3660 us answer פִתְגָמָ֖א H6600 they returned הֲתִיב֣וּנָא H8421 saying לְמֵמַ֑ר H560 We אֲנַ֣חְנָא H586 are הִמּ֡וֹ H1994 the servants עַבְדוֹהִי֩ H5649 דִֽי H1768 of the God אֱלָ֨הּ H426 of heaven שְׁמַיָּ֜א H8065 and earth וְאַרְעָ֗א H772 and build בְּנָ֖הִי H1124 the house בַּיְתָא֙ H1005 דִּֽי H1768 that was הֲוָ֨א H1934 and build בְּנָ֖הִי H1124 ago מִקַּדְמַ֤ת H6928 these דְּנָה֙ H1836 years שְׁנִ֣ין H8140 many שַׂגִּיאָ֔ן H7690 king וּמֶ֤לֶךְ H4430 of Israel לְיִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3479 which a great רַ֔ב H7229 and build בְּנָ֖הִי H1124 and set up וְשַׁכְלְלֵֽהּ׃ H3635 12 But לָהֵ֗ן H3861 after מִן H4481 דִּ֨י H1768 had provoked הַרְגִּ֤זוּ H7265 that our fathers אֲבָהֳתַ֙נָא֙ H2 the God לֶֽאֱלָ֣הּ H426 of heaven שְׁמַיָּ֔א H8065 he gave יְהַ֣ב H3052 them הִמּ֔וֹ H1994 into the hand בְּיַ֛ד H3028 of Nebuchadnezzar נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּ֥ר H5020 the king מֶֽלֶךְ H4430 into Babylon לְבָבֶֽל׃ H895 the Chaldean כַּסְדָּיָ֑א H3679 house וּבַיְתָ֤ה H1005 this דְנָה֙ H1836 who destroyed סַתְרֵ֔הּ H5642 the people וְעַמָּ֖ה H5972 and carried הַגְלִ֥י H1541 into Babylon לְבָבֶֽל׃ H895 13 But בְּרַם֙ H1297 year בִּשְׁנַ֣ת H8140 in the first חֲדָ֔ה H2298 Cyrus כּ֤וֹרֶשׁ H3567 the king מַלְכָּא֙ H4430 דִּ֣י H1768 of Babylon בָבֶ֑ל H895 Cyrus כּ֤וֹרֶשׁ H3567 the king מַלְכָּא֙ H4430 made שָׂ֣ם H7761 a decree טְעֵ֔ם H2942 house בֵּית H1005 of God אֱלָהָ֥א H426 this דְנָ֖ה H1836 to build לִבְּנֵֽא׃ H1124 14 also וְ֠אַף H638 And the vessels מָֽאנַיָּ֣א H3984 of דִּ֥י H1768 of the house בֵית H1005 of God אֱלָהָא֮ H426 of דִּ֥י H1768 gold דַֽהֲבָ֣ה H1722 and silver וְכַסְפָּא֒ H3702 of דִּ֥י H1768 which Nebuchadnezzar נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּ֗ר H5020 take הַנְפֵּ֨ק H5312 out of מִן H4481 the temple הֵֽיכְלָא֙ H1965 of דִּ֥י H1768 that was in Jerusalem בִֽירוּשְׁלֶ֔ם H3390 and brought וְהֵיבֵ֣ל H2987 those הִמּ֜וֹ H1994 the temple הֵֽיכְלָא֙ H1965 of דִּ֥י H1768 of Babylon בָבֶ֔ל H895 take הַנְפֵּ֨ק H5312 those הִמּ֜וֹ H1994 did Cyrus כּ֣וֹרֶשׁ H3567 the king מַלְכָּ֗א H4430 out of מִן H4481 the temple הֵֽיכְלָא֙ H1965 of דִּ֥י H1768 of Babylon בָבֶ֔ל H895 and they were delivered וִיהִ֙יבוּ֙ H3052 was Sheshbazzar לְשֵׁשְׁבַּצַּ֣ר H8340 unto one whose name שְׁמֵ֔הּ H8036 of דִּ֥י H1768 governor פֶחָ֖ה H6347 whom he had made שָׂמֵֽהּ׃ H7761 15 And said וַֽאֲמַר H560 לֵ֓הּ׀ H0 these אֵ֚לה H412 vessels מָֽאנַיָּ֔א H3984 unto him Take שֵׂ֚א H5376 go אֵֽזֶל H236 carry אֲחֵ֣ת H5182 them הִמּ֔וֹ H1994 into the temple בְּהֵֽיכְלָ֖א H1965 דִּ֣י H1768 that is in Jerusalem בִירֽוּשְׁלֶ֑ם H3390 and let the house וּבֵ֥ית H1005 of God אֱלָהָ֖א H426 be builded יִתְבְּנֵ֥א H1124 in עַל H5922 his place אַתְרֵֽהּ׃ H870 16 Then אֱדַ֧יִן H116 Sheshbazzar שֵׁשְׁבַּצַּ֣ר H8340 the same דֵּ֔ךְ H1791 came אֲתָ֗א H858 and laid יְהַ֧ב H3052 the foundation אֻשַּׁיָּ֛א H787 דִּי H1768 of the house בֵ֥ית H1005 of God אֱלָהָ֖א H426 דִּ֣י H1768 which is in Jerusalem בִירֽוּשְׁלֶ֑ם H3390 and since וּמִן H4481 Then אֱדַ֧יִן H116 even until וְעַד H5705 now כְּעַ֛ן H3705 hath it been in building מִתְבְּנֵ֖א H1124 and yet it is not וְלָ֥א H3809 finished שְׁלִֽם׃ H8000 17 Now וּכְעַ֞ן H3705 therefore if הֵ֣ן H2006 to עֲלֶֽינָא׃ H5922 and let the king מַלְכָּ֛א H4430 it seem good טָ֗ב H2869 let there be search יִ֠תְבַּקַּר H1240 house בֵּית H1005 treasure גִּנְזַיָּ֜א H1596 דִּֽי H1768 and let the king מַלְכָּ֛א H4430 which is there תַמָּה֮ H8536 דִּ֣י H1768 at Babylon בְּבָבֶל֒ H895 therefore if הֵ֣ן H2006 it be אִיתַ֗י H383 דִּֽי H1768 of מִן H4481 Cyrus כּ֤וֹרֶשׁ H3567 and let the king מַלְכָּ֛א H4430 was made שִׂ֣ים H7761 so that a decree טְעֵ֔ם H2942 to build לְמִבְנֵ֛א H1124 house בֵּית H1005 of God אֱלָהָ֥א H426 this דֵ֖ךְ H1791 at Jerusalem בִּירֽוּשְׁלֶ֑ם H3390 his pleasure וּרְע֥וּת H7470 and let the king מַלְכָּ֛א H4430 to עֲלֶֽינָא׃ H5922 this matter דְּנָ֖ה H1836 send יִשְׁלַ֥ח H7972
