am thy shield מָגֵ֣ן H4043 לָ֔ךְ H0 reward שְׂכָֽרְךָ֖ H7939 great הַרְבֵּ֥ה H7235 and thy exceeding מְאֹֽד׃ H3966 2 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And Abram אַבְרָ֗ם H87 Lord אֲדֹנָ֤י H136 GOD יֱהוִה֙ H3069 seed זָ֑רַע H2233 וְהִנֵּ֥ה H2009 and lo one born בֶן H1121 in my house בֵּיתִ֖י H1004 is mine heir יוֹרֵ֥שׁ H3423 אֹתִֽי׃ H853 4 וְהִנֵּ֨ה H2009 And behold the word דְבַר H1697 of the LORD יְהוָ֤ה H3068 אֵלָיו֙ H413 came unto him saying לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 לֹ֥א H3808 This shall not be thine heir יִֽירָשֶֽׁךָ׃ H3423 זֶ֑ה H2088 כִּי H3588 אִם֙ H518 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 but he that shall come forth יֵצֵ֣א H3318 out of thine own bowels מִמֵּעֶ֔יךָ H4578 ה֖וּא H1931 This shall not be thine heir יִֽירָשֶֽׁךָ׃ H3423 5 And he brought him forth וַיּוֹצֵ֨א H3318 אֹת֜וֹ H853 abroad הַח֗וּצָה H2351 and said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 Look הַבֶּט H5027 נָ֣א H4994 now toward heaven הַשָּׁמַ֗יְמָה H8064 and tell לִסְפֹּ֣ר H5608 the stars הַכּ֣וֹכָבִ֔ים H3556 אִם H518 if thou be able תּוּכַ֖ל H3201 and tell לִסְפֹּ֣ר H5608 אֹתָ֑ם H853 and said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 ל֔וֹ H0 unto him So כֹּ֥ה H3541 יִֽהְיֶ֖ה H1961 shall thy seed זַרְעֶֽךָ׃ H2233 6 And he believed וְהֶֽאֱמִ֖ן H539 in the LORD בַּֽיהוָ֑ה H3068 and he counted וַיַּחְשְׁבֶ֥הָ H2803 לּ֖וֹ H0 it to him for righteousness צְדָקָֽה׃ H6666 7 And he said וַיֹּ֖אמֶר H559 אֵלָ֑יו H413 אֲנִ֣י H589 unto him I am the LORD יְהוָ֗ה H3068 אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 that brought thee out הֽוֹצֵאתִ֙יךָ֙ H3318 of Ur מֵא֣וּר H218 of the Chaldees כַּשְׂדִּ֔ים H3778 to give לָ֧תֶת H5414 לְךָ֛ H0 אֶת H853 thee this land הָאָ֥רֶץ H776 הַזֹּ֖את H2063 to inherit לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃ H3423 8 And he said וַיֹּאמַ֑ר H559 Lord אֲדֹנָ֣י H136 יֱהוִ֔ה H3068 whereby בַּמָּ֥ה H4100 shall I know אֵדַ֖ע H3045 כִּ֥י H3588 that I shall inherit it אִֽירָשֶֽׁנָּה׃ H3423 9 And he said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 אֵלָ֗יו H413 unto him Take קְחָ֥ה H3947 לִי֙ H0 me an heifer עֶגְלָ֣ה H5697 of three years old מְשֻׁלָּ֑שׁ H8027 and a she goat וְעֵ֥ז H5795 of three years old מְשֻׁלָּ֑שׁ H8027 and a ram וְאַ֣יִל H352 of three years old מְשֻׁלָּ֑שׁ H8027 and a turtledove וְתֹ֖ר H8449 and a young pigeon וְגוֹזָֽל׃ H1469 10 And he took וַיִּֽקַּֽח H3947 ל֣וֹ H0 אֶת H853 כָּל H3605 אֵ֗לֶּה H428 divided בָתָֽר׃ H1334 אֹתָם֙ H853 them in the midst בַּתָּ֔וֶךְ H8432 and laid וַיִּתֵּ֥ן H5414 each אִישׁ H376 piece בִּתְר֖וֹ H1335 one against לִקְרַ֣את H7125 another רֵעֵ֑הוּ H7453 וְאֶת H853 but the birds הַצִפֹּ֖ר H6833 לֹ֥א H3808 divided בָתָֽר׃ H1334 11 came down וַיֵּ֥רֶד H3381 And when the fowls הָעַ֖יִט H5861 עַל H5921 upon the carcases הַפְּגָרִ֑ים H6297 drove them away וַיַּשֵּׁ֥ב H5380 אֹתָ֖ם H853 Abram אַבְרָֽם׃ H87 12 וַיְהִ֤י H1961 And when the sun הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ H8121 was going down לָב֔וֹא H935 a deep sleep וְתַרְדֵּמָ֖ה H8639 fell נֹפֶ֥לֶת H5307 עַל H5921 upon Abram אַבְרָ֑ם H87 וְהִנֵּ֥ה H2009 and lo an horror אֵימָ֛ה H367 darkness חֲשֵׁכָ֥ה H2825 of great גְדֹלָ֖ה H1419 fell נֹפֶ֥לֶת H5307 עָלָֽיו׃ H5921 13 And he said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 unto Abram לְאַבְרָ֗ם H87 Know תֵּדַ֜ע H3045 Know תֵּדַ֜ע H3045 כִּי H3588 shall be a stranger גֵ֣ר׀ H1616 יִֽהְיֶ֣ה H1961 that thy seed זַרְעֲךָ֗ H2233 in a land בְּאֶ֙רֶץ֙ H776 לֹ֣א H3808 לָהֶ֔ם H0 that is not theirs and shall serve וַֽעֲבָד֖וּם H5647 them and they shall afflict וְעִנּ֣וּ H6031 אֹתָ֑ם H853 them four אַרְבַּ֥ע H702 hundred מֵא֖וֹת H3967 years שָׁנָֽה׃ H8141 14 וְגַ֧ם H1571 אֶת H853 And also that nation הַגּ֛וֹי H1471 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 whom they shall serve יַֽעֲבֹ֖דוּ H5647 will I judge דָּ֣ן H1777 אָנֹ֑כִי H595 and afterward וְאַֽחֲרֵי H310 כֵ֥ן H3651 shall they come out יֵֽצְא֖וּ H3318 substance בִּרְכֻ֥שׁ H7399 with great גָּדֽוֹל׃ H1419 15 וְאַתָּ֛ה H859 And thou shalt go תָּב֥וֹא H935 אֶל H413 to thy fathers אֲבֹתֶ֖יךָ H1 in peace בְּשָׁל֑וֹם H7965 thou shalt be buried תִּקָּבֵ֖ר H6912 old age בְּשֵׂיבָ֥ה H7872 in a good טוֹבָֽה׃ H2896 16 generation וְד֥וֹר H1755 But in the fourth רְבִיעִ֖י H7243 again יָשׁ֣וּבוּ H7725 is not yet הֵֽנָּה׃ H2008 כִּ֧י H3588 לֹֽא H3808 full שָׁלֵ֛ם H8003 for was dark וַֽעֲלָטָ֖ה H5939 הָיָ֑ה H1961 וְהִנֵּ֨ה H2009 furnace תַנּ֤וּר H8574 behold a smoking עָשָׁן֙ H6227 lamp וְלַפִּ֣יד H3940 and a burning אֵ֔שׁ H784 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 that passed עָבַ֔ר H5674 between בֵּ֖ין H996 those pieces הַגְּזָרִ֥ים H1506 הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ H428 18 day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 In the same הַה֗וּא H1931 made כָּרַ֧ת H3772 the LORD יְהוָ֛ה H3068 אֶת H854 with Abram אַבְרָ֖ם H87 a covenant בְּרִ֣ית H1285 saying לֵאמֹ֑ר H559 Unto thy seed לְזַרְעֲךָ֗ H2233 have I given נָתַ֙תִּי֙ H5414 אֶת H853 this land הָאָ֣רֶץ H776 הַזֹּ֔את H2063 from the river נְהַר H5104 of Egypt מִצְרַ֔יִם
