H3605 For all the wells הַבְּאֵרֹ֗ת H875 אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 had digged חָֽפְרוּ֙ H2658 servants עַבְדֵ֣י H5650 his father אָבִ֑יו H1 in the days בִּימֵ֖י H3117 of Abraham אַבְרָהָ֣ם H85 his father אָבִ֑יו H1 had stopped סִתְּמ֣וּם H5640 the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים H6430 them and filled וַיְמַלְא֖וּם H4390 them with earth עָפָֽר׃ H6083 16 said וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 And Abimelech אֲבִימֶ֖לֶךְ H40 אֶל H413 unto Isaac יִצְחָ֑ק H3327 לֵ֚ךְ H1980 מֵֽעִמָּ֔נוּ H5973 כִּֽי H3588 mightier עָצַ֥מְתָּ H6105 מִמֶּ֖נּוּ H4480 from us for thou art much מְאֹֽד׃ H3966 17 וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ H1980 there שָֽׁם׃ H8033 And Isaac יִצְחָ֑ק H3327 thence and pitched his tent וַיִּ֥חַן H2583 in the valley בְּנַֽחַל H5158 of Gerar גְּרָ֖ר H1642 and dwelt וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב H3427 there שָֽׁם׃ H8033 18 again וַיָּ֨שָׁב H7725 And Isaac יִצְחָ֜ק H3327 digged חָֽפְרוּ֙ H2658 אֶת H853 the wells בְּאֵרֹ֣ת H875 of water הַמַּ֗יִם H4325 by which אֲשֶׁר H834 digged חָֽפְרוּ֙ H2658 in the days בִּימֵי֙ H3117 of Abraham אַבְרָהָ֑ם H85 his father אָבִֽיו׃ H1 had stopped וַיְסַתְּמ֣וּם H5640 for the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים H6430 them after אַֽחֲרֵ֖י H310 the death מ֣וֹת H4194 of Abraham אַבְרָהָ֑ם H85 and he called קָרָ֥א H7121 לָהֶן֙ H0 after the names כַּשֵּׁמֹ֕ת H8034 after the names כַּשֵּׁמֹ֕ת H8034 by which אֲשֶׁר H834 and he called קָרָ֥א H7121 לָהֶ֖ן H0 his father אָבִֽיו׃ H1 19 digged וַיַּחְפְּר֥וּ H2658 servants עַבְדֵֽי H5650 And Isaac's יִצְחָ֖ק H3327 in the valley בַּנָּ֑חַל H5158 and found וַיִּ֨מְצְאוּ H4672 שָׁ֔ם H8033 there a well בְּאֵ֖ר H875 water מַ֥יִם H4325 of springing חַיִּֽים׃ H2416 20 did strive וַיָּרִ֜יבוּ H7378 And the herdmen רֹעֵ֥י H7462 of Gerar גְרָ֗ר H1642 עִם H5973 And the herdmen רֹעֵ֥י H7462 with Isaac's יִצְחָ֛ק H3327 saying לֵאמֹ֖ר H559 לָ֣נוּ H0 The water הַמָּ֑יִם H4325 is ours and he called וַיִּקְרָ֤א H7121 the name שֵֽׁם H8034 of the well הַבְּאֵר֙ H875 Esek עֵ֔שֶׂק H6230 כִּ֥י H3588 because they strove הִֽתְעַשְּׂק֖וּ H6229 עִמּֽוֹ׃ H5973 21 And they digged וַֽיַּחְפְּרוּ֙ H2658 well בְּאֵ֣ר H875 another אַחֶ֔רֶת H312 and strove וַיָּרִ֖יבוּ H7378 גַּם H1571 עָלֶ֑יהָ H5921 for that also and he called וַיִּקְרָ֥א H7121 the name of it שְׁמָ֖הּ H8034 Sitnah שִׂטְנָֽה׃ H7856 22 And he removed וַיַּעְתֵּ֣ק H6275 מִשָּׁ֗ם H8033 from thence and digged וַיַּחְפֹּר֙ H2658 well בְּאֵ֣ר H875 another אַחֶ֔רֶת H312 וְלֹ֥א H3808 and for that they strove רָב֖וּ H7378 עָלֶ֑יהָ H5921 not and he called וַיִּקְרָ֤א H7121 the name of it שְׁמָהּ֙ H8034 Rehoboth רְחֹב֔וֹת H7344 and he said וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 כִּֽי H3588 For now עַתָּ֞ה H6258 hath made room הִרְחִ֧יב H7337 the LORD יְהוָ֛ה H3068 לָ֖נוּ H0 for us and we shall be fruitful וּפָרִ֥ינוּ H6509 in the land בָאָֽרֶץ׃ H776 23 And he went up וַיַּ֥עַל H5927 מִשָּׁ֖ם H8033 בְּאֵ֥ר H0 from thence to Beersheba שָֽׁבַע׃ H884 24 appeared וַיֵּרָ֨א H7200 אֵלָ֤יו H413 And the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 unto him the same night בַּלַּ֣יְלָה H3915 הַה֔וּא H1931 and said וַיֹּ֕אמֶר H559 אָֽנֹכִ֕י H595 I am the God אֱלֹהֵ֖י H430 Abraham's אַבְרָהָ֥ם H85 thy father אָבִ֑יךָ H1 אַל H408 fear תִּירָא֙ H3372 כִּֽי H3588 not for I am with אִתְּךָ֣ H854 אָנֹ֔כִי H595 thee and will bless וּבֵֽרַכְתִּ֙יךָ֙ H1288 thee and multiply וְהִרְבֵּיתִ֣י H7235 אֶֽת H853 thy seed זַרְעֲךָ֔ H2233 בַּֽעֲב֖וּר H5668 Abraham's אַבְרָהָ֥ם H85 for my servant עַבְדִּֽי׃ H5650 25 And he builded וַיִּ֧בֶן H1129 שָׁ֣ם H8033 an altar מִזְבֵּ֗חַ H4196 there and called וַיִּקְרָא֙ H7121 upon the name בְּשֵׁ֣ם H8034 of the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 and pitched וַיֶּט H5186 שָׁ֖ם H8033 his tent אָֽהֳל֑וֹ H168 digged וַיִּכְרוּ H3738 שָׁ֥ם H8033 servants עַבְדֵי H5650 there and there Isaac's יִצְחָ֖ק H3327 a well בְּאֵֽר׃ H875 26 Then Abimelech וַֽאֲבִימֶ֕לֶךְ H40 went הָלַ֥ךְ H1980 אֵלָ֖יו H413 to him from Gerar מִגְּרָ֑ר H1642 and Ahuzzath וַֽאֲחֻזַּת֙ H276 one of his friends מֵֽרֵעֵ֔הוּ H4828 and Phichol וּפִיכֹ֖ל H6369 the chief captain שַׂר H8269 of his army צְבָאֽוֹ׃ H6635 27 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 אֲלֵהֶם֙ H413 And Isaac יִצְחָ֔ק H3327 unto them Wherefore מַדּ֖וּעַ H4069 come בָּאתֶ֣ם H935 אֵלָ֑י H413 וְאַתֶּם֙ H859 ye to me seeing ye hate שְׂנֵאתֶ֣ם H8130 אֹתִ֔י H853 me and have sent me away וַתְּשַׁלְּח֖וּנִי H7971 מֵֽאִתְּכֶֽם׃ H853 28 And they said וַנֹּ֗אמֶר H559 We saw רָאִינוּ֮ H7200 We saw רָאִינוּ֮ H7200 כִּֽי H3588 הָיָ֣ה H1961 that the LORD יְהוָ֣ה׀ H3068 עִמָּךְ֒ H5973 And they said וַנֹּ֗אמֶר H559 תְּהִ֨י H1961 נָ֥א H4994 Let there be now an oath אָלָ֛ה H423 betwixt וּבֵינֶ֑ךָ H996 betwixt וּבֵינֶ֑ךָ H996 betwixt וּבֵינֶ֑ךָ H996 us and thee and let us make וְנִכְרְתָ֥ה H3772 a covenant בְרִ֖ית וַיִּשְׁתּֽוּ׃ H8354 31 And they rose up betimes וַיַּשְׁכִּ֣ימוּ H7925 in the morning בַבֹּ֔קֶר H1242 and sware וַיִּשָּֽׁבְע֖וּ H7650 one אִ֣ישׁ H376 to another לְאָחִ֑יו H251 sent them away וַיְשַׁלְּחֵ֣ם H7971 and Isaac יִצְחָ֔ק H3327 וַיֵּֽלְכ֥וּ H1980 מֵֽאִתּ֖וֹ H853 from him in peace בְּשָׁלֽוֹם׃ H7965 32 וַיְהִ֣י׀ H1961 And it came to pass the same day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 הַה֗וּא H1931 came וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ H935 servants עַבְדֵ֣י H5650 that Isaac's יִצְחָ֔ק H3327 and told וַיַּגִּ֣דוּ H5046 ל֔וֹ H0 עַל H5921 him concerning אֹד֥וֹת H182 the well הַבְּאֵ֖ר H875 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which they had digged חָפָ֑רוּ H2658 and said וַיֹּ֥אמְרוּ H559 ל֖וֹ H0 unto him We have found מָצָ֥אנוּ H4672 water מָֽיִם׃ H4325 33 And he called וַיִּקְרָ֥א H7121 אֹתָ֖הּ H853 it Shebah שִׁבְעָ֑ה H7656 עַל H5921 כֵּ֤ן H3651 therefore the name שֵׁם H8034 of the city הָעִיר֙ H5892 בְּאֵ֣ר H0 is Beersheba שֶׁ֔בַע H884 עַ֖ד H5704 unto this day הַיּ֥וֹם H3117 הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 34 וַיְהִ֤י H1961 And Esau עֵשָׂו֙ H6215
