מִבְּנ֥וֹת H1323 of Canaan כְּנָֽעַן׃ H3667 7 obeyed וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע H8085 And that Jacob יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב H3290 אֶל H413 his father אָבִ֖יו H1 וְאֶל H413 and his mother אִמּ֑וֹ H517 וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ H1980 פַּדֶּ֥נָֽה H0 to Padanaram אֲרָֽם׃ H6307 8 seeing וַיַּ֣רְא H7200 And Esau עֵשָׂ֔ו H6215 כִּ֥י H3588 not רָע֖וֹת H7451 that the daughters בְּנ֣וֹת H1323 of Canaan כְּנָ֑עַן H3667 pleased בְּעֵינֵ֖י H5869 Isaac יִצְחָ֥ק H3327 his father אָבִֽיו׃ H1 9 וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ H1980 Esau עֵשָׂ֖ו H6215 אֶל H413 of Ishmael יִשְׁמָעֵ֨אל H3458 and took וַיִּקַּ֡ח H3947 אֶֽת H853 which he had Mahalath מָחֲלַ֣ת׀ H4258 the daughter בַּת H1323 of Ishmael יִשְׁמָעֵ֨אל H3458 son בֶּן H1121 Abraham's אַבְרָהָ֜ם H85 the sister אֲח֧וֹת H269 of Nebajoth נְבָי֛וֹת H5032 עַל H5921 to be his wife לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ H802 ל֥וֹ H0 to be his wife לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ H802 10 went out וַיֵּצֵ֥א H3318 And Jacob יַֽעֲקֹ֖ב H3290 מִבְּאֵ֣ר H0 from Beersheba שָׁ֑בַע H884 וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ H1980 toward Haran חָרָֽנָה׃ H2771 11 And he lighted וַיִּפְגַּ֨ע H6293 in that place בַּמָּק֥וֹם H4725 and tarried there all night וַיָּ֤לֶן H3885 שָׁם֙ H8033 כִּי H3588 was set בָ֣א H935 because the sun הַשֶּׁ֔מֶשׁ H8121 and he took וַיִּקַּח֙ H3947 of the stones מֵֽאַבְנֵ֣י H68 in that place בַּמָּק֥וֹם H4725 and put וַיָּ֖שֶׂם H7760 them for his pillows מְרַֽאֲשֹׁתָ֑יו H4763 and lay down וַיִּשְׁכַּ֖ב H7901 in that place בַּמָּק֥וֹם H4725 הַהֽוּא׃ H1931 12 And he dreamed וַֽיַּחֲלֹ֗ם H2492 וְהִנֵּ֤ה H2009 and behold a ladder סֻלָּם֙ H5551 set up מֻצָּ֣ב H5324 on the earth אַ֔רְצָה H776 and the top of it וְרֹאשׁ֖וֹ H7218 reached מַגִּ֣יעַ H5060 to heaven הַשָּׁמָ֑יְמָה H8064 וְהִנֵּה֙ H2009 and behold the angels מַלְאֲכֵ֣י H4397 of God אֱלֹהִ֔ים H430 ascending עֹלִ֥ים H5927 and descending וְיֹֽרְדִ֖ים H3381 בּֽוֹ׃ H0 13 וְהִנֵּ֨ה H2009 And behold the LORD יְהוָ֗ה H3068 stood נִצָּ֣ב H5324 עָלָיו֮ H5921 above it and said וַיֹּאמַר֒ H559 אֲנִ֣י H589 And behold the LORD יְהוָ֗ה H3068 God וֵֽאלֹהֵ֖י H430 of Abraham אַבְרָהָ֣ם H85 thy father אָבִ֔יךָ H1 God וֵֽאלֹהֵ֖י H430 of Isaac יִצְחָ֑ק H3327 the land הָאָ֗רֶץ H776 אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 אַתָּה֙ H859 whereon thou liest שֹׁכֵ֣ב H7901 עָלֶ֔יהָ H5921 לְךָ֥ H0 to thee will I give it אֶתְּנֶ֖נָּה H5414 and to thy seed וּלְזַרְעֶֽךָ׃ H2233 14 וְהָיָ֤ה H1961 And thy seed וּבְזַרְעֶֽךָ׃ H2233 shall be as the dust כַּֽעֲפַ֣ר H6083 of the earth הָאָ֔רֶץ H776 and thou shalt spread abroad וּפָֽרַצְתָּ֛ H6555 to the west יָ֥מָּה H3220 and to the east וָקֵ֖דְמָה H6924 and to the north וְצָפֹ֣נָה H6828 and to the south וָנֶ֑גְבָּה H5045 be blessed וְנִבְרֲכ֥וּ H1288 בְךָ֛ H0 כָּל H3605 shall all the families מִשְׁפְּחֹ֥ת H4940 of the earth הָֽאֲדָמָ֖ה H127 And thy seed וּבְזַרְעֶֽךָ׃ H2233 15 וְהִנֵּ֨ה H2009 אָֽנֹכִ֜י H595 עִמָּ֗ךְ H5973 And behold I am with thee and will keep וּשְׁמַרְתִּ֙יךָ֙ H8104 בְּכֹ֣ל H3605 thee in all places whither אֲשֶׁר H834 תֵּלֵ֔ךְ H1980 and will bring thee again וַהֲשִׁ֣בֹתִ֔יךָ H7725 אֶל H413 into this land הָֽאֲדָמָ֖ה H127 הַזֹּ֑את H2063 כִּ֚י H3588 לֹ֣א H3808 for דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי H1696 לָֽךְ׃ H0 16 awaked וַיִּיקַ֣ץ H3364 And Jacob יַֽעֲקֹב֮ H3290 out of his sleep מִשְּׁנָתוֹ֒ H8142 and he said וַיֹּ֕אמֶר H559 Surely אָכֵן֙ H403 is יֵ֣שׁ H3426 the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 in this place בַּמָּק֖וֹם H4725 הַזֶּ֑ה H2088 וְאָֽנֹכִ֖י H595 לֹ֥א H3808 and I knew יָדָֽעְתִּי׃ H3045 17 And he was afraid נּוֹרָ֖א H3372 and said וַיֹּאמַ֔ר H559 מַה H4100 And he was afraid נּוֹרָ֖א H3372 is this place הַמָּק֣וֹם H4725 הַזֶּ֑ה H2088 אֵ֣ין H369 זֶ֗ה H2088 כִּ֚י H3588 אִם H518 this is none other but the house בֵּ֣ית H1004 of God אֱלֹהִ֔ים H430 וְזֶ֖ה H2088 and this is the gate שַׁ֥עַר H8179 of heaven הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ H8064 18 rose up early וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֨ם H7925 And Jacob יַֽעֲקֹ֜ב H3290 in the morning בַּבֹּ֗קֶר H1242 and took וַיִּקַּ֤ח H3947 אֶת H853 the stone הָאֶ֙בֶן֙ H68 אֲשֶׁר H834 and set it up וַיָּ֥שֶׂם H7760 for his pillows מְרַֽאֲשֹׁתָ֔יו H4763 and set it up וַיָּ֥שֶׂם H7760 אֹתָ֖הּ H853 for a pillar מַצֵּבָ֑ה H4676 and poured וַיִּצֹ֥ק H3332 oil שֶׁ֖מֶן H8081 עַל H5921 upon the top of it רֹאשָֽׁהּ׃ H7218 19 And he called וַיִּקְרָ֛א H7121 אֶת H853 the name שֵׁם H8034 of that place הַמָּק֥וֹם H4725 הַה֖וּא H1931 בֵּֽית H0 Bethel אֵ֑ל H1008 but וְאוּלָ֛ם H199 was called Luz ל֥וּז H3870 the name שֵׁם H8034 of that city הָעִ֖יר H5892 at the first לָרִֽאשֹׁנָֽה׃ H7223 20 vowed וַיִּדַּ֥ר H5087 And Jacob יַֽעֲקֹ֖ב H3290 a vow נֶ֣דֶר H5088 saying לֵאמֹ֑ר H559 אִם H518 יִֽהְיֶ֨ה H1961 If God אֱלֹהִ֜ים H430 עִמָּדִ֗י H5978 will be with me and will keep me וּשְׁמָרַ֙נִי֙ H8104 in this way בַּדֶּ֤רֶךְ H1870 הַזֶּה֙ H2088 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 אָֽנֹכִ֣י H595 that I go הוֹלֵ֔ךְ H1980 and will give וְנָֽתַן H5414 לִ֥י H0 me bread לֶ֛חֶם H3899 to eat לֶֽאֱכֹ֖ל H398 and raiment וּבֶ֥גֶד H899 to put on לִלְבֹּֽשׁ׃ H3847 21 So that I come again
