H8198 2 And he put וַיָּ֧שֶׂם H7760 אֶת H853 the handmaids הַשְּׁפָח֛וֹת H8198 וְאֶת H853 and her children וִֽילָדֶ֙יהָ֙ H3206 foremost רִֽאשֹׁנָ֑ה H7223 וְאֶת H853 and Leah לֵאָ֤ה H3812 and her children וִֽילָדֶ֙יהָ֙ H3206 after אַֽחֲרֹנִֽים׃ H314 וְאֶת H853 and Rachel רָחֵ֥ל H7354 וְאֶת H853 and Joseph יוֹסֵ֖ף H3130 after אַֽחֲרֹנִֽים׃ H314 3 וְה֖וּא H1931 And he passed over עָבַ֣ר H5674 before them לִפְנֵיהֶ֑ם H6440 and bowed himself וַיִּשְׁתַּ֤חוּ H7812 to the ground אַ֙רְצָה֙ H776 seven שֶׁ֣בַע H7651 times פְּעָמִ֔ים H6471 עַד H5704 until he came near גִּשְׁתּ֖וֹ H5066 עַד H5704 H834 hath graciously given חָנַ֥ן H2603 which God אֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 אֶת H853 thy servant עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ H5650 6 came near וַתִּגַּ֧שְׁןָ H5066 Then the handmaidens הַשְּׁפָח֛וֹת H8198 הֵ֥נָּה H2007 they and their children וְיַלְדֵיהֶ֖ן H3206 and they bowed themselves וַתִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוֶֽיןָ׃ H7812 7 came נִגַּ֥שׁ H5066 גַּם H1571 And Leah לֵאָ֛ה H3812 also with her children וִֽילָדֶ֖יהָ H3206 and bowed themselves וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוֽוּ׃ H7812 and after וְאַחַ֗ר H310 came נִגַּ֥שׁ H5066 Joseph יוֹסֵ֛ף H3130 and Rachel וְרָחֵ֖ל H7354 and bowed themselves וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוֽוּ׃ H7812 8 And he said וַיֹּ֕אמֶר H559 מִ֥י H4310 לְךָ֛ H0 כָּל H3605 What meanest thou by all this drove הַמַּֽחֲנֶ֥ה H4264 הַזֶּ֖ה H2088 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 which I met פָּגָ֑שְׁתִּי H6298 And he said וַיֹּ֕אמֶר H559 These are to find לִמְצֹא H4672 grace חֵ֖ן H2580 in the sight בְּעֵינֵ֥י H5869 of my lord אֲדֹנִֽי׃ H113 9 said וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 And Esau עֵשָׂ֖ו H6215 I have יֶשׁ H3426 לִ֣י H0 enough רָ֑ב H7227 my brother אָחִ֕י H251 יְהִ֥י H1961 לְךָ֖ H0 אֲשֶׁר H834 לָֽךְ׃ H0 10 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And Jacob יַֽעֲקֹ֗ב H3290 אַל H408 נָא֙ H4994 אִם H518 נָ֨א H4994 Nay I pray thee if now I have found מָצָ֤אתִי H4672 grace חֵן֙ H2580 in thy sight בְּעֵינֶ֔יךָ H5869 then receive וְלָֽקַחְתָּ֥ H3947 my present מִנְחָתִ֖י H4503 at my hand מִיָּדִ֑י H3027 כִּ֣י H3588 עַל H5921 כֵּ֞ן H3651 as though I had seen כִּרְאֹ֛ת H7200 the וְאֵֽלְכָ֖ה H1980 לְנֶגְדֶּֽךָ׃ H5048 13 And he said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 אֵלָ֗יו H413 unto him My lord אֲדֹנִ֤י H113 knoweth יֹדֵ֙עַ֙ H3045 כִּֽי H3588 that the children הַיְלָדִ֣ים H3206 are tender רַכִּ֔ים H7390 all the flock הַצֹּֽאן׃ H6629 and herds וְהַבָּקָ֖ר H1241 with young עָל֣וֹת H5763 עָלָ֑י H5921 are with me and if men should overdrive וּדְפָקוּם֙ H1849 day י֣וֹם H3117 them one אֶחָ֔ד H259 will die וָמֵ֖תוּ H4191 כָּל H3605 all the flock הַצֹּֽאן׃ H6629 14 I pray thee pass over יַֽעֲבָר H5674 נָ֥א H4994 Let my lord אֲדֹנִ֖י H113 before לְפָנַי֙ H6440 his servant עַבְדּ֑וֹ H5650 וַֽאֲנִ֞י H589 and I will lead on אֶֽתְנָהֲלָ֣ה H5095 softly לְאִטִּ֗י H328 according as וּלְרֶ֣גֶל H7272 the cattle הַמְּלָאכָ֤ה H4399 אֲשֶׁר H834 before לְפָנַי֙ H6440 according as וּלְרֶ֣גֶל H7272 and the children הַיְלָדִ֔ים H3206 עַ֛ד H5704 אֲשֶׁר H834 until I come אָבֹ֥א H935 אֶל H413 Let my lord אֲדֹנִ֖י H113 unto Seir שֵׂעִֽירָה׃ H8165 15 said וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 And Esau עֵשָׂ֔ו H6215 Let me now leave אַצִּֽיגָה H3322 נָּ֣א H4994 עִמְּךָ֔ H5973 מִן H4480 with thee some of the folk הָעָ֖ם H5971 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 אִתִּ֑י H854 said וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ H559 What לָ֣מָּה H4100 זֶּ֔ה H2088 needeth it let me find אֶמְצָא H4672 grace חֵ֖ן H2580 in the sight בְּעֵינֵ֥י H5869 of my lord אֲדֹנִֽי׃ H113 16 returned וַיָּשָׁב֩ H7725 that day בַּיּ֨וֹם H3117 הַה֥וּא H1931 So Esau עֵשָׂ֛ו H6215 on his way לְדַרְכּ֖וֹ H1870 unto Seir שֵׂעִֽירָה׃ H8165 17 And Jacob וְיַֽעֲקֹב֙ H3290 journeyed נָסַ֣ע H5265 Succoth סֻכּֽוֹת׃ H5523 and built וַיִּ֥בֶן H1129 ל֖וֹ H0 him an house בָּ֑יִת H1004 for his cattle וּלְמִקְנֵ֙הוּ֙ H4735 and made עָשָׂ֣ה H6213 booths סֻכֹּ֔ת H5521 עַל H5921 כֵּ֛ן H3651 is called קָרָ֥א H7121 therefore the name שֵׁם H8034 of the place הַמָּק֖וֹם H4725 Succoth סֻכּֽוֹת׃ H5523 18 came בְּבֹא֖וֹ H935 And Jacob יַֽעֲקֹ֨ב H3290 שָׁלֵ֜ם H8003 a city הָעִֽיר׃ H5892 of Shechem שְׁכֶ֗ם H7927 אֲשֶׁר֙ H834 which is in the land בְּאֶ֣רֶץ H776 of Canaan כְּנַ֔עַן H3667 came בְּבֹא֖וֹ H935 מִפַּדַּ֣ן H0 from Padanaram אֲרָ֑ם H6307 and pitched his tent וַיִּ֖חַן H2583 אֶת H853 before פְּנֵ֥י H6440 a city הָעִֽיר׃ H5892 19 And he bought וַיִּ֜קֶן H7069 אֶת H853 a parcel חֶלְקַ֣ת H2513 of a field הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה H7704 אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 where he had spread נָֽטָה H5186 שָׁם֙ H8033 his tent אָֽהֳל֔וֹ H168 at the hand מִיַּ֥ד H3027 of the children בְּנֵֽי H1121 of Hamor חֲמ֖וֹר H2544 father אֲבִ֣י H1 שְׁכֶ֑ם H7928 for an hundred בְּמֵאָ֖ה H3967 pieces of money קְשִׂיטָֽה׃ H7192 20 And he erected וַיַּצֶּב H5324 שָׁ֖ם H8033 there an altar מִזְבֵּ֑חַ H4196 and called it וַיִּ֨קְרָא
