הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ H4428 Hezekiah חִזְקִיָּ֔הוּ H2396 it that he rent וַיִּקְרַ֖ע H7167 אֶת H853 his clothes בְּגָדָ֑יו H899 and covered וַיִּתְכַּ֣ס H3680 himself with sackcloth בַּשָּׂ֔ק H8242 and went וַיָּבֹ֖א H935 into the house בֵּ֥ית H1004 of the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 2 And he sent וַ֠יִּשְׁלַח H7971 אֶת H853 Eliakim אֶלְיָקִ֨ים H471 אֲשֶׁר H834 עַל H5921 who was over the household הַבַּ֜יִת shall hear וְשָׁמַ֥ע H8085 a rumour שְׁמוּעָ֖ה H8052 and return וְשָׁ֣ב H7725 אֶל H413 in his own land בְּאַרְצֽוֹ׃ H776 and I will cause him to fall וְהִפַּלְתִּ֥יו H5307 by the sword בַּחֶ֖רֶב H2719 H3898 עַל H5921 against Libnah לִבְנָ֑ה H3841 כִּ֣י H3588 for he had heard שָׁמַ֔ע H8085 כִּ֥י H3588 that he was departed נָסַ֖ע H5265 from Lachish מִלָּכִֽישׁ׃ H3923 9 And he heard וַיִּשְׁמַע֙ H8085 עַל H5921 concerning Tirhakah תִּרְהָ֤קָה H8640 king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Ethiopia כּוּשׁ֙ H3568 say לֵאמֹֽר׃ H559 He is come forth יָצָ֖א H3318 to make war לְהִלָּחֵ֣ם H3898 אִתָּ֑ךְ H854 And he heard לְכָל H3605 to all lands הָאֲרָצ֖וֹת H776 by destroying them utterly לְהַחֲרִימָ֑ם H2763 וְאַתָּ֖ה H859 and shalt thou be delivered תִּנָּצֵֽל׃ H5337 12 delivered הַהִצִּ֨ילוּ H5337 אוֹתָ֜ם H853 Have the gods אֱלֹהֵ֤י H430 of the nations הַגּוֹיִם֙ H1471 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 have destroyed הִשְׁחִ֣יתוּ H7843 them which my fathers אֲבוֹתַ֔י H1 אֶת H853 as Gozan גּוֹזָ֖ן H1470 וְאֶת H853 and Haran חָרָ֑ן H2771 and Rezeph וְרֶ֥צֶף H7530 and the children וּבְנֵי H1121 of Eden עֶ֖דֶן H5729 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 which were in Telassar בִּתְלַשָּֽׂר׃ H8515 13 אַיֵּ֤ה H346 Where is the king וּמֶ֖לֶךְ H4428 of Hamath חֲמָת֙ H2574 Where is the king וּמֶ֖לֶךְ H4428 of Arphad אַרְפָּ֔ד H774 Where is the king וּמֶ֖לֶךְ H4428 of the city לָעִ֣יר H5892 of Sepharvaim סְפַרְוָ֑יִם H5617 Hena הֵנַ֖ע H2012 and Ivah וְעִוָּֽה׃ H5755 14 received וַיִּקַּ֨ח H3947 And Hezekiah חִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ H2396 אֶת H853 the letter הַסְּפָרִ֛ים H5612 from the hand מִיַּ֥ד H3027 of the messengers הַמַּלְאָכִ֖ים H4397 and read וַיִּקְרָאֵ֑הוּ H7121 went up וַיַּ֙עַל֙ H5927 unto the house בֵּ֣ית H1004 of the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 and spread וַיִּפְרְשֵׂ֥הוּ H6566 And Hezekiah חִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ H2396 it before לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 of the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 15 prayed וַיִּתְפַּלֵּל֙ H6419 And Hezekiah חִזְקִיָּ֔הוּ H2396 אֶל H413 unto the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 saying לֵאמֹֽר׃ H559 16 O LORD יְהוָ֨ה H3068 of hosts צְבָא֜וֹת H6635 God הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ H430 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 that dwellest יֹשֵׁ֣ב H3427 between the cherubims הַכְּרֻבִ֔ים H3742 אַתָּה H859 ה֤וּא H1931 God הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ H430 לְבַדְּךָ֔ H905 לְכֹ֖ל H3605 even thou Of a truth אָמְנָ֖ם H551 LORD יְהוָ֑ה H3068 have laid waste הֶחֱרִ֜יבוּ H2717 the kings מַלְכֵ֥י H4428 of Assyria אַשּׁ֛וּר H804 אֶת H853 כָּל H3605 all the nations אַרְצָֽם׃ H776 וְאֶת H853 all the nations אַרְצָֽם׃ H776 19 And have cast וְנָתֹ֥ן H5414 אֶת H853 for they were no gods אֱלֹהִ֜ים H430 into the fire בָּאֵ֑שׁ H784 כִּי֩ H3588 לֹ֨א H3808 for they were no gods אֱלֹהִ֜ים H430 הֵ֗מָּה H1992 כִּ֣י H3588 אִם H518 but the work מַעֲשֵׂ֧ה H4639 hands יְדֵֽי H3027 of men's אָדָ֛ם H120 wood עֵ֥ץ H6086 and stone וָאֶ֖בֶן H68 therefore they have destroyed וַֽיְאַבְּדֽוּם׃ H6 20 וְעַתָּה֙ hast prayed הִתְפַּלַּ֣לְתָּ H6419 אֵלַ֔י H413 אֶל H413 to me against Sennacherib סַנְחֵרִ֖יב H5576 king מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 of Assyria אַשּֽׁוּר׃ H804 22 זֶ֣ה H2088 This is the word הַדָּבָ֔ר H1697 אֲשֶׁר H834 hath spoken דִּבֶּ֥ר H1696 which the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 עָלָ֑יו H5921 hath despised בָּזָ֨ה H959 לְךָ֜ H0 thee and laughed לָעֲגָ֣ה H3932 לְךָ֗ H0 concerning him The virgin בְּתוּלַת֙ H1330 the daughter בַּ֖ת H1323 of Zion צִיּ֔וֹן H6726 at thee אַחֲרֶ֙יךָ֙ H310 her head רֹ֣אשׁ H7218 hath shaken הֵנִ֔יעָה H5128 the daughter בַּ֖ת H1323 of Jerusalem יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ H3389 23 אֶת H853 מִ֤י H4310 Whom hast thou reproached חֵרַ֙פְתָּ֙ H2778 and blasphemed וְגִדַּ֔פְתָּ H1442 וְעַל H5921 מִ֖י H4310 and against whom hast thou exalted הֲרִימ֣וֹתָה H7311 thy voice קּ֑וֹל H6963 and lifted up וַתִּשָּׂ֥א H5375 on high מָר֛וֹם H4791 thine eyes עֵינֶ֖יךָ H5869 אֶל H413 even against the Holy One קְד֥וֹשׁ H6918 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 24 By בְּיַ֣ד H3027 thy servants עֲבָדֶיךָ֮ H5650 hast thou reproached חֵרַ֣פְתָּ׀ H2778 the Lord אֲדֹנָי֒ H136 and hast said וַתֹּ֗אמֶר H559 By the multitude בְּרֹ֥ב H7230 of my chariots רִכְבִּ֛י H7393 אֲנִ֥י H589 am I come up עָלִ֛יתִי H5927 into the height מְר֣וֹם H4791 of the mountains הָרִ֖ים H2022 to the sides יַרְכְּתֵ֣י H3411 of Lebanon לְבָנ֑וֹן H3844 and I will cut down וְאֶכְרֹ֞ת H3772 the tall קוֹמַ֤ת H6967 cedars אֲרָזָיו֙ H730 thereof and the choice מִבְחַ֣ר H4005 fir trees בְּרֹשָׁ֔יו H1265 thereof and I will enter וְאָבוֹא֙ H935 into the height מְר֣וֹם H4791 of his border קִצּ֔וֹ H7093 and the forest יַ֖עַר H3293 כַּרְמִלּֽוֹ׃ H3759 25 אֲנִ֥י H589 I have digged קַ֖רְתִּי H6979 and drunk וְשָׁתִ֣יתִי H8354 water מָ֑יִם H4325 have I dried up וְאַחְרִב֙ H2717 and with the sole בְּכַף H3709 of my feet פְּעָמַ֔י H6471 כֹּ֖ל H3605 all the rivers יְאֹרֵ֥י H2975 of the besieged places מָצֽוֹר׃ H4693 26 הֲלֽוֹא H3808 Hast thou not heard שָׁמַ֤עְתָּ H8085 long ago לְמֵֽרָחוֹק֙ H7350 אוֹתָ֣הּ H853 how I have done עָשִׂ֔יתִי H6213 times מִ֥ימֵי H3117 it and of ancient קֶ֖דֶם H6924 that I have formed וִיצַרְתִּ֑יהָ H3335 עַתָּ֣ה H6258 it now have I brought הֲבֵאתִ֔יהָ H935 וּתְהִ֗י H1961 it to pass that thou shouldest be to lay waste לְהַשְׁא֛וֹת H7582 heaps גַּלִּ֥ים H1530 into ruinous נִצִּ֖ים H5327 cities עָרִ֥ים H5892 defenced בְּצֻרֽוֹת׃ H1219 27 Therefore their inhabitants וְיֹֽשְׁבֵיהֶן֙ H3427 were of small קִצְרֵי H7116 power יָ֔ד H3027 they were dismayed חַ֖תּוּ H2865 and confounded וָבֹ֑שׁוּ H954 הָי֞וּ H1961 they were as the grass עֵ֤שֶׂב H6212 of the field שָׂדֶה֙ H7704 and as the green וִ֣ירַק H3419 herb דֶּ֔שֶׁא H1877 as the grass חֲצִ֣יר H2682 on the housetops גַּגּ֔וֹת H1406 and as corn blasted וּשְׁדֵמָ֖ה H7709 before לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 it be grown up קָמָֽה׃ H7054 28 thy abode וְשִׁבְתְּךָ֛ H3427 and thy going out וְצֵאתְךָ֥ H3318 and thy coming in וּבוֹאֲךָ֖ H935 But I know יָדָ֑עְתִּי H3045 וְאֵ֖ת H853 and thy rage הִֽתְרַגֶּזְךָ֥ H7264 אֵלָֽי׃ H413 29 יַ֚עַן H3282 Because thy rage הִתְרַגֶּזְךָ֣ H7264 אֵלַ֔י H413 against me and thy tumult וְשַׁאֲנַנְךָ֖ H7600 is come up עָלָ֣ה H5927 into mine ears בְאָזְנָ֑י H241 therefore will I put וְשַׂמְתִּ֨י H7760 my hook חַחִ֜י H2397 in thy nose בְּאַפֶּ֗ךָ H639 and my bridle וּמִתְגִּי֙ H4964 in thy lips בִּשְׂפָתֶ֔יךָ H8193 and I will turn thee back וַהֲשִׁ֣יבֹתִ֔יךָ H7725 by the way בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ H1870 אֲשֶׁר H834 by which thou camest בָּ֥אתָ H935 בָּֽהּ׃ H0 30 וְזֶה H2088 לְּךָ֣ H0 And this shall be a sign הָא֔וֹת H226 and eat וְאִכְו֥לּ H398 this year וּבַשָּׁנָ֣ה H8141 such as groweth סָפִ֔יחַ H5599 this year וּבַשָּׁנָ֣ה H8141 of itself and the second הַשֵּׁנִ֖ית H8145 that which springeth שָׁחִ֑יס H7823 this year וּבַשָּׁנָ֣ה H8141 of the same and in the third הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֗ית H7992 sow זִרְע֧וּ H2232 ye and reap וְקִצְר֛וּ H7114 and plant וְנִטְע֥וּ H5193 vineyards כְרָמִ֖ים H3754 and eat וְאִכְו֥לּ H398 the fruit פִרְיָֽם׃ H6529 31 shall again וְיָ֨סְפָ֜ה H3254 that is escaped פְּלֵיטַ֧ת H6413 of the house בֵּית H1004 of Judah יְהוּדָ֛ה H3063 And the remnant הַנִּשְׁאָרָ֖ה H7604 take root שֹׁ֣רֶשׁ H8328 downward לְמָ֑טָּה H4295 and bear וְעָשָׂ֥ה H6213 fruit פְרִ֖י H6529 upward לְמָֽעְלָה׃ H4605 32 כִּ֤י H3588 For out of Jerusalem מִירֽוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ H3389 shall go forth תֵּצֵ֣א H3318 a remnant שְׁאֵרִ֔ית H7611 and they that escape וּפְלֵיטָ֖ה H6413 out of mount מֵהַ֣ר H2022 Zion צִיּ֑וֹן H6726 the zeal קִנְאַ֛ת H7068 of the LORD יְהוָ֥ה H3068 of hosts צְבָא֖וֹת H6635 shall do תַּֽעֲשֶׂה H6213 זֹּֽאת׃ H2063 33 לָכֵ֗ן H3651 כֹּֽה H3541 Therefore thus saith אָמַ֤ר H559 the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 אֶל H413 concerning the king מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 of Assyria אַשּׁ֔וּר H804 לֹ֤א H3808 He shall not come יָבוֹא֙ H935 אֶל H413 into this city הָעִ֣יר H5892 הַזֹּ֔את H2063 וְלֹֽא H3808 nor shoot יוֹרֶ֥ה H3384 שָׁ֖ם H8033 an arrow חֵ֑ץ H2671 וְלֹֽא H3808 there nor come before יְקַדְּמֶ֣נָּה H6923 it with shields מָגֵ֔ן H4043 וְלֹֽא H3808 nor cast יִשְׁפֹּ֥ךְ H8210 עֳלֶ֖יהָ H5921 a bank סֹלְלָֽה׃ H5550 34 By the way בַּדֶּ֥רֶךְ H1870 אֲשֶׁר H834 and shall not come יָב֖וֹא H935 בָּ֣הּ H0 by the same shall he return יָשׁ֑וּב H7725 וְאֶל H413 into this city הָעִ֥יר H5892 הַזֹּ֛את H2063 לֹ֥א H3808 and shall not come יָב֖וֹא H935 saith נְאֻם H5002 the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 35 For I will defend וְגַנּוֹתִ֛י H1598 עַל H5921 this city הָעִ֥יר H5892 הַזֹּ֖את H2063 to save לְהֽוֹשִׁיעָ֑הּ H3467 לְמַֽעֲנִ֔י H4616 וּלְמַ֖עַן H4616 David's דָּוִ֥ד H1732 it for mine own sake and for my servant עַבְדִּֽי׃ H5650 36 went forth וַיֵּצֵ֣א׀ H3318 Then the angel מַלְאַ֣ךְ H4397 of the LORD יְהוָ֗ה H3068 and smote וַיַּכֶּה֙ H5221 in the camp בְּמַחֲנֵ֣ה H4264 of the Assyrians אַשּׁ֔וּר H804 a hundred מֵאָ֛ה H3967 and fourscore וּשְׁמֹנִ֥ים H8084 and five וַחֲמִשָּׁ֖ה H2568 thousand אָ֑לֶף H505 and when they
