Uz ע֖וּץ H5780 was Job אִיּ֣וֹב H347 whose name שְׁמ֑וֹ H8034 וְהָיָ֣ה׀ H1961 There was a man הָאִ֣ישׁ H376 הַה֗וּא H1931 was perfect תָּ֧ם H8535 and upright וְיָשָׁ֛ר H3477 and one that feared וִירֵ֥א H3373 God אֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 and eschewed וְסָ֥ר H5493 evil מֵרָֽע׃ H7451 2 And there were born וַיִּוָּ֥לְדוּ H3205 ל֛וֹ H0 unto him seven שִׁבְעָ֥ה H7651 sons בָנִ֖ים H1121 and three וְשָׁל֥וֹשׁ H7969 daughters בָּנֽוֹת׃ H1323 3 וַיְהִ֣י H1961 His substance מִ֠קְנֵהוּ H4735 also was seven שִֽׁבְעַ֨ת H7651 thousand אַלְפֵ֣י H505 sheep צֹ֜אן H6629 and three וּשְׁלֹ֧שֶׁת H7969 thousand אַלְפֵ֣י H505 camels גְמַלִּ֗ים H1581 and five וַֽחֲמֵ֣שׁ H2568 hundred מֵא֣וֹת H3967 yoke צֶֽמֶד H6776 of oxen בָּקָר֙ H1241 and five וַֽחֲמֵ֣שׁ H2568 hundred מֵא֣וֹת H3967 she asses אֲתוֹנ֔וֹת H860 household וַֽעֲבֻדָּ֖ה H5657 great רַבָּ֣ה H7227 and a very מְאֹ֑ד H3966 וַֽיְהִי֙ H1961 so that this man הָאִ֣ישׁ H376 הַה֔וּא H1931 was the greatest גָּד֖וֹל H1419 מִכָּל H3605 of all the men בְּנֵי H1121 of the east קֶֽדֶם׃ H6924 4 went וְהָֽלְכ֤וּ H1980 And his sons בָנָיו֙ H1121 וְעָשׂ֣וּ H6213 and feasted מִשְׁתֶּ֔ה H4960 in their houses בֵּ֖ית H1004 every one אִ֣ישׁ H376 his day יוֹמ֑וֹ H3117 and sent וְשָֽׁלְח֗וּ H7971 and called וְקָֽרְאוּ֙ H7121 for their three לִשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת H7969 sisters אַחְיֹֽתֵיהֶ֔ם H269 to eat לֶֽאֱכֹ֥ל H398 and to drink וְלִשְׁתּ֖וֹת H8354 עִמָּהֶֽם׃ H5973 5 וַיְהִ֡י H1961 כִּ֣י H3588 were gone about הִקִּיפוּ֩ H5362 And it was so when the days הַיָּמִֽים׃ H3117 of their feasting הַמִּשְׁתֶּ֜ה H4960 sent וַיִּשְׁלַ֧ח H7971 Job אִיּ֖וֹב H347 and sanctified וַֽיְקַדְּשֵׁ֗ם H6942 them and rose up early וְהִשְׁכִּ֣ים H7925 in the morning בַּבֹּקֶר֮ H1242 and offered וְהֶֽעֱלָ֣ה H5927 burnt offerings עֹלוֹת֮ H5930 according to the number מִסְפַּ֣ר H4557 כֻּלָּם֒ H3605 כִּ֚י H3588 said אָמַ֣ר H559 Job אִיּ֖וֹב H347 It may be אוּלַי֙ H194 have sinned חָֽטְא֣וּ H2398 that my sons בָנַ֔י H1121 and cursed וּבֵרֲכ֥וּ H1288 God אֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 in their hearts בִּלְבָבָ֑ם H3824 כָּ֛כָה H3602 Thus did יַֽעֲשֶׂ֥ה H6213 Job אִיּ֖וֹב H347 כָּל H3605 And it was so when the days הַיָּמִֽים׃ H3117 6 וַיְהִ֣י H1961 Now there was a day הַיּ֔וֹם H3117 came וַיָּב֥וֹא H935 when the sons בְּנֵ֣י H1121 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים H430 to present לְהִתְיַצֵּ֖ב H3320 עַל H5921 themselves before the LORD יְהוָ֑ה H3068 came וַיָּב֥וֹא H935 גַֽם H1571 and Satan הַשָּׂטָ֖ן H7854 also among בְּתוֹכָֽם׃ H8432 7 and said וַיֹּאמַ֔ר H559 And the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 אֶל H413 thou Then Satan הַשָּׂטָ֤ן H7854 Whence מֵאַ֣יִן H370 comest תָּבֹ֑א H935 answered וַיַּ֨עַן H6030 thou Then Satan הַשָּׂטָ֤ן H7854 אֶת H853 And the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 and said וַיֹּאמַ֔ר H559 From going to and fro מִשּׁ֣וּט H7751 in the earth בָּאָ֔רֶץ H776 and from walking up and down וּמֵֽהִתְהַלֵּ֖ךְ H1980 בָּֽהּ׃ H0 8 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 And the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 אֶל H413 unto Satan הַשָּׂטָ֔ן H7854 Hast thou considered הֲשַׂ֥מְתָּ H7760 לִבְּךָ֖ H3820 עַל H5921 my servant עַבְדִּ֣י H5650 Job אִיּ֑וֹב H347 כִּ֣י H3588 אֵ֤ין H369 כָּמֹ֙הוּ֙ H3644 that there is none like him in the earth בָּאָ֔רֶץ H776 man אִ֣ישׁ H376 a perfect תָּ֧ם H8535 and an upright וְיָשָׁ֛ר H3477 one that feareth יְרֵ֥א H3373 God אֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 and escheweth וְסָ֥ר H5493 evil מֵרָֽע׃ H7451 9 answered וַיַּ֧עַן H6030 Then Satan הַשָּׂטָ֛ן H7854 אֶת H853 the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 and said וַיֹּאמַ֑ר H559 for nought הַֽחִנָּ֔ם H2600 fear יָרֵ֥א H3372 Doth Job אִיּ֖וֹב H347 God אֱלֹהִֽים׃ H430 10 הֲלֹֽא H3808 אַ֠תָּ H859 Hast not thou made an hedge שַׂ֣כְתָּ H7753 about him and about וּבְעַ֥ד H1157 about him and about וּבְעַ֥ד H1157 his house בֵּית֛וֹ H1004 about him and about וּבְעַ֥ד H1157 כָּל H3605 אֲשֶׁר H834 ל֖וֹ H0 and about all that he hath on every side מִסָּבִ֑יב H5439 the work מַֽעֲשֵׂ֤ה H4639 of his hands יָדָיו֙ H3027 thou hast blessed בֵּרַ֔כְתָּ H1288 and his substance וּמִקְנֵ֖הוּ H4735 is increased פָּרַ֥ץ H6555 in the land בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ H776 11 But וְאוּלָם֙ H199 put forth שְֽׁלַֽח H7971 נָ֣א H4994 thine hand יָֽדְךָ֔ H3027 now and touch וְגַ֖ע H5060 בְּכָל H3605 אֲשֶׁר H834 ל֑וֹ H0 אִם H518 לֹ֥א H3808 עַל H5921 thee to thy face פָּנֶ֖יךָ H6440 all that he hath and he will curse יְבָרֲכֶֽךָּ׃ H1288 12 said וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 And the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 אֶל H413 So Satan הַשָּׂטָ֔ן H7854 הִנֵּ֤ה H2009 כָל H3605 אֲשֶׁר H834 לוֹ֙ H0 Behold all that he hath is in thy power יָדֶ֑ךָ H3027 רַ֣ק H7535 אֵלָ֔יו H413 אַל H408 only upon himself put not forth תִּשְׁלַ֖ח H7971 Behold all that he hath is in thy power יָדֶ֑ךָ H3027 went forth וַיֵּצֵא֙ H3318 So Satan הַשָּׂטָ֔ן H7854 מֵעִ֖ם H5973 from the presence פְּנֵ֥י H6440 And the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 13 וַיְהִ֖י H1961 And there was a day הַיּ֑וֹם H3117 when his sons וּבָנָ֨יו H1121 and his daughters וּבְנֹתָ֤יו H1323 were eating אֹֽכְלִים֙ H398 and drinking וְשֹׁתִ֣ים H8354 wine יַ֔יִן H3196 house בְּבֵ֖ית H1004 brother's אֲחִיהֶ֥ם H251 in their eldest הַבְּכֽוֹר׃ H1060 14 a messenger וּמַלְאָ֛ךְ H4397 And there came בָּ֥א H935 אֶל H413 unto Job אִיּ֖וֹב H347 and said וַיֹּאמַ֑ר H559 The oxen הַבָּקָר֙ H1241 הָי֣וּ H1961 were plowing חֹֽרְשׁ֔וֹת H2790 and the asses וְהָֽאֲתֹנ֖וֹת H860 feeding רֹע֥וֹת H7462 עַל H5921 beside יְדֵיהֶֽם׃ H3027 15 fell וַתִּפֹּ֤ל H5307 And the Sabeans שְׁבָא֙ H7614 upon them and took them away וַתִּקָּחֵ֔ם H3947 וְאֶת H853 the servants הַנְּעָרִ֖ים H5288 yea they have slain הִכּ֣וּ H5221 with the edge לְפִי H6310 of the sword חָ֑רֶב H2719 and I only am escaped וָאִמָּ֨לְטָ֧ה H4422 רַק H7535 אֲנִ֛י H589 לְבַדִּ֖י H905 alone to tell לְהַגִּ֥יד H5046 לָֽךְ׃ H0 16 ע֣וֹד׀ H5750 זֶ֣ה H2088 While he was yet speaking מְדַבֵּ֗ר H1696 וְזֶה֮ H2088 there came בָּ֣א H935 also another and said וַיֹּאמַר֒ H559 The fire אֵ֣שׁ H784 of God אֱלֹהִ֗ים H430 is fallen נָֽפְלָה֙ H5307 מִן H4480 from heaven הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם H8064 and hath burned up וַתִּבְעַ֥ר H1197 the sheep בַּצֹּ֛אן H6629 and the servants וּבַנְּעָרִ֖ים H5288 and consumed וַתֹּֽאכְלֵ֑ם H398 them and I only am escaped וָאִמָּ֨לְטָ֧ה H4422 רַק H7535 אֲנִ֛י H589 לְבַדִּ֖י H905 alone to tell לְהַגִּ֥יד H5046 לָֽךְ׃ H0 17 ע֣וֹד׀ H5750 זֶ֣ה H2088 While he was yet speaking מְדַבֵּ֗ר H1696 וְזֶה֮ H2088 there came בָּ֣א H935 also another and said וַיֹּאמַר֒ H559 The Chaldeans כַּשְׂדִּ֞ים H3778 made out שָׂ֣מוּ׀ H7760 three שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה H7969 bands רָאשִׁ֗ים H7218 and fell וַֽיִּפְשְׁט֤וּ H6584 עַל H5921 upon the camels הַגְּמַלִּים֙ H1581 and have carried them away וַיִּקָּח֔וּם H3947 וְאֶת H853 the servants הַנְּעָרִ֖ים H5288 yea and slain הִכּ֣וּ H5221 with the edge לְפִי H6310 of the sword חָ֑רֶב H2719 and I only am escaped וָאִמָּ֨לְטָ֧ה H4422 רַק H7535 אֲנִ֛י H589 לְבַדִּ֖י H905 alone to tell לְהַגִּ֥יד H5046 לָֽךְ׃ H0 18 עַ֚ד H5750 זֶ֣ה H2088 While he was yet speaking מְדַבֵּ֔ר H1696 וְזֶ֖ה H2088 there came בָּ֣א H935 also another and said וַיֹּאמַ֑ר H559 Thy sons בָּנֶ֨יךָ H1121 and thy daughters וּבְנוֹתֶ֤יךָ H1323 were eating אֹֽכְלִים֙ H398 and drinking וְשֹׁתִ֣ים H8354 wine יַ֔יִן H3196 house בְּבֵ֖ית H1004 brother's אֲחִיהֶ֥ם H251 in their eldest הַבְּכֽוֹר׃ H1060 19 וְהִנֵּה֩ H2009 wind ר֨וּחַ H7307 a great גְּדוֹלָ֜ה H1419 And behold there came בָּ֣אָה׀ H935 from מֵעֵ֣בֶר H5676 the wilderness הַמִּדְבָּ֗ר H4057 and smote וַיִּגַּע֙ H5060 the four בְּאַרְבַּע֙ H702 corners פִּנּ֣וֹת H6438 of the house הַבַּ֔יִת H1004 and it fell וַיִּפֹּ֥ל H5307 עַל H5921 upon the young men הַנְּעָרִ֖ים H5288 and they are dead וַיָּמ֑וּתוּ H4191 and I only am escaped וָאִמָּ֨לְטָ֧ה H4422 רַק H7535 אֲנִ֛י H589 לְבַדִּ֖י H905 alone to tell לְהַגִּ֥יד H5046 לָֽךְ׃ H0 20 arose וַיָּ֤קָם H6965 Then Job אִיּוֹב֙ H347 and rent וַיִּקְרַ֣ע H7167 אֶת H853 his mantle מְעִל֔וֹ H4598 and shaved וַיָּ֖גָז H1494 אֶת H853 his head רֹאשׁ֑וֹ H7218 and fell down וַיִּפֹּ֥ל H5307 upon the ground אַ֖רְצָה H776 and worshipped וַיִּשְׁתָּֽחוּ׃ H7812 21 And said וַיֹּאמֶר֩ H559 Naked וְעָרֹם֙ H6174 came I out יָצָ֜תִי H3318 womb מִבֶּ֣טֶן H990 of my mother's אִמִּ֗י H517 Naked וְעָרֹם֙ H6174 shall I return אָשׁ֣וּב H7725 שָׁ֔מָה H8033 and the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 gave נָתַ֔ן H5414 and the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 hath taken away לָקָ֑ח H3947 יְהִ֛י H1961 be the name שֵׁ֥ם H8034 and the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 blessed מְבֹרָֽךְ׃ H1288 22 בְּכָל H3605 זֹ֖את H2063 לֹֽא H3808 sinned חָטָ֣א H2398 In all this Job אִיּ֑וֹב H347 וְלֹֽא H3808 not nor charged נָתַ֥ן H5414 foolishly תִּפְלָ֖ה H8604 God
