LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 them before לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 and slew וַיַּכֵּ֥ם H5221 slaughter מַכָּֽה H4347 them with a great גְדוֹלָ֖ה H1419 at Gibeon בְּגִבְע֑וֹן H1391 and chased וַֽיִּרְדְּפֵ֗ם H7291 them along the way דֶּ֚רֶךְ H1870 that goeth up מַֽעֲלֵ֣ה H4608 בֵית H0 to Bethhoron חוֹרֹ֔ן H1032 and slew וַיַּכֵּ֥ם H5221 עַד H5704 them to Azekah עֲזֵקָ֖ה H5825 וְעַד H5704 and unto Makkedah מַקֵּדָֽה׃ H4719 11 וַיְהִ֞י H1961 And it came to pass as they fled בְּנֻסָ֣ם׀ H5127 from before מִפְּנֵ֣י H6440 Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 הֵ֞ם H1992 and were in the going down בְּמוֹרַ֤ד H4174 בֵּית H0 to Bethhoron חוֹרֹן֙ H1032 that the LORD וַֽיהוָ֡ה H3068 cast down הִשְׁלִ֣יךְ H7993 עֲלֵיהֶם֩ H5921 stones בְּאַבְנֵ֣י H68 great גְּדֹל֧וֹת H1419 מִן H4480 from heaven הַשָּׁמַ֛יִם H8064 עַד H5704 upon them unto Azekah עֲזֵקָ֖ה H5825 and they died מֵ֙תוּ֙ H4191 they were more רַבִּ֗ים H7227 than they whom מֵֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 and they died מֵ֙תוּ֙ H4191 stones בְּאַבְנֵ֣י H68 with hailstones הַבָּרָ֔ד H1259 than they whom מֵֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 slew הָֽרְג֛וּ H2026 the children בְּנֵ֥י H1121 Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 with the sword בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ H2719 12 אָ֣ז H227 Then spake יְדַבֵּ֤ר H1696 Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁעַ֙ H3091 to the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 in the day בְּי֗וֹם H3117 delivered up תֵּ֤ת H5414 to the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 אֶת H853 the Amorites הָ֣אֱמֹרִ֔י H567 before לִפְנֵ֖י H6440 the children בְּנֵ֣י H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל H3478 and he said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר׀ H559 in the sight לְעֵינֵ֣י H5869 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל H3478 Sun שֶׁ֚מֶשׁ H8121 upon Gibeon בְּגִבְע֣וֹן H1391 stand thou still דּ֔וֹם H1826 and thou Moon וְיָרֵ֖חַ H3394 in the valley בְּעֵ֥מֶק H6010 of Ajalon אַיָּלֽוֹן׃ H357 13 stood still וַיִּדֹּ֨ם H1826 And the sun הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ H8121 and the moon וְיָרֵ֣חַ H3394 stayed וַיַּֽעֲמֹ֤ד H5975 עַד H5704 had avenged יִקֹּ֥ם H5358 until the people גּוֹי֙ H1471 themselves upon their enemies אֹֽיְבָ֔יו H341 הֲלֹא H3808 Is not this הִ֥יא H1931 written כְתוּבָ֖ה H3789 עַל H5921 in the book סֵ֣פֶר H5612 of Jasher הַיָּשָׁ֑ר H3477 stayed וַיַּֽעֲמֹ֤ד H5975 And the sun הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ H8121 in the midst בַּֽחֲצִ֣י H2677 of heaven הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם H8064 וְלֹא H3808 and hasted אָ֥ץ H213 not to go down לָב֖וֹא H935 day כְּי֥וֹם H3117 about a whole תָּמִֽים׃ H8549 14 וְלֹ֨א H3808 הָיָ֜ה H1961 And there was no day כַּיּ֤וֹם H3117 הַהוּא֙ H1931 like that before לְפָנָ֣יו H6440 it or after וְאַֽחֲרָ֔יו H310 hearkened לִשְׁמֹ֥עַ H8085 for the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 unto the voice בְּק֣וֹל H6963 of a man אִ֑ישׁ H376 כִּ֣י H3588 for the LORD יְהוָ֔ה H3068 fought נִלְחָ֖ם H3898 for Israel לְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 15 returned וַיָּ֤שָׁב H7725 And Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ H3091 וְכָל H3605 and all Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל H3478 עִמּ֔וֹ H5973 אֶל H413 with him unto the camp הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה H4264 to Gilgal הַגִּלְגָּֽלָה׃ H1537 16 fled וַיָּנֻ֕סוּ H5127 But these five חֲמֵ֖שֶׁת H2568 kings הַמְּלָכִ֣ים H4428 הָאֵ֑לֶּה H428 and hid וַיֵּחָֽבְא֥וּ H2244 themselves in a cave בַמְּעָרָ֖ה H4631 at Makkedah בְּמַקֵּדָֽה׃ H4719 17 And it was told וַיֻּגַּ֖ד H5046 Joshua לִֽיהוֹשֻׁ֣עַ H3091 saying לֵאמֹ֑ר H559 are found נִמְצְאוּ֙ H4672 The five חֲמֵ֣שֶׁת H2568 kings הַמְּלָכִ֔ים H4428 hid נֶחְבְּאִ֥ים H2244 in a cave בַּמְּעָרָ֖ה H4631 at Makkedah בְּמַקֵּדָֽה׃ H4719 18 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ H3091 Roll גֹּ֛לּוּ H1556 stones אֲבָנִ֥ים H68 great גְּדֹל֖וֹת H1419 אֶל H413 upon the mouth פִּ֣י H6310 of the cave הַמְּעָרָ֑ה H4631 and set וְהַפְקִ֧ידוּ H6485 עָלֶ֛יהָ H5921 men אֲנָשִׁ֖ים H582 by it for to keep לְשָׁמְרָֽם׃ H8104 19 וְאַתֶּם֙ H859 אַֽל H408 And stay תַּעֲמֹ֔דוּ H5975 ye not but pursue רִדְפוּ֙ H7291 after אַֽחֲרֵ֣י H310 your enemies אֹֽיְבֵיכֶ֔ם H341 and smite the hindmost וְזִנַּבְתֶּ֖ם H2179 אוֹתָ֑ם H853 אַֽל H408 hath delivered נְתָנָ֛ם H5414 them not to enter לָבוֹא֙ H935 אֶל H413 into their cities עָ֣רֵיהֶ֔ם H5892 כִּ֧י H3588 hath delivered נְתָנָ֛ם H5414 for the LORD יְהוָ֥ה H3068 your God אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֖ם H430 them into your hand בְּיֶדְכֶֽם׃ H3027 20 וַיְהִי֩ H1961 had made an end כְּכַלּ֨וֹת H3615 And it came to pass when Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ H3091 and the children וּבְנֵ֣י H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל H3478 of slaying לְהַכּוֹתָ֛ם H5221 slaughter מַכָּ֥ה H4347 great גְדוֹלָֽה H1419 them with a very מְאֹ֖ד H3966 עַד H5704 till they were consumed תֻּמָּ֑ם H8552 that the rest וְהַשְּׂרִידִים֙ H8300 which remained שָֽׂרְד֣וּ H8277 מֵהֶ֔ם H1992 of them entered וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ H935 אֶל H413 cities עָרֵ֥י H5892 into fenced הַמִּבְצָֽר׃ H4013 21 returned וַיָּשֻׁבוּ֩ H7725 כָל H3605 And all the people הָעָ֨ם H5971 אֶל H413 to the camp הַמַּֽחֲנֶ֧ה H4264 אֶל H413 to Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֛עַ H3091 at Makkedah מַקֵּדָ֖ה H4719 in peace בְּשָׁל֑וֹם H7965 לֹֽא H3808 none moved חָרַ֞ץ H2782 of the children לִבְנֵ֧י H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל H3478 against any לְאִ֖ישׁ H376 אֶת H853 his tongue לְשֹׁנֽוֹ׃ H3956 22 Then said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ H3091 Open פִּתְח֖וּ H6605 אֶת H853 the mouth פִּ֣י H6310 of the cave הַמְּעָרָֽה׃ H4631 and bring out וְהוֹצִ֣יאוּ H3318 אֵלַ֗י H413 אֶת H853 those five חֲמֵ֛שֶׁת H2568 kings הַמְּלָכִ֥ים H4428 הָאֵ֖לֶּה H428 מִן H4480 of the cave הַמְּעָרָֽה׃ H4631 23 And they did וַיַּ֣עֲשׂוּ H6213 כֵ֔ן H3651 so and brought forth וַיֹּצִ֣יאוּ H3318 אֵלָ֗יו H413 אֶת H853 those five חֲמֵ֛שֶׁת H2568 and the king מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 הָאֵ֖לֶּה H428 מִן H4480 unto him out of the cave הַמְּעָרָ֑ה H4631 אֵ֣ת׀ H853 and the king מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 of Jerusalem יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֗ם H3389 אֶת H853 and the king מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 of Hebron חֶבְרוֹן֙ H2275 אֶת H853 and the king מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 of Jarmuth יַרְמ֔וּת H3412 אֶת H853 and the king מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 of Lachish לָכִ֖ישׁ H3923 אֶת H853 and the king מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 of Eglon עֶגְלֽוֹן׃ H5700 24 וַ֠יְהִי H1961 And it came to pass when they brought out כְּֽהוֹצִיאָ֞ם H3318 אֶת H853 of these kings הַמְּלָכִ֣ים H4428 הָאֵלֶּה֮ H428 אֶל H413 that Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ H3091 called וַיִּקְרָ֨א H7121 that Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ H3091 אֶל H413 כָּל H3605 for all the men אִ֣ישׁ H376 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל H3478 and said וַ֠יֹּאמֶר H559 אֶל H413 unto the captains קְצִינֵ֞י H7101 of the men אַנְשֵׁ֤י H582 of war הַמִּלְחָמָה֙ H4421 which went הֶהָֽלְכ֣וּא H1980 אִתּ֔וֹ H854 And they came near וַֽיִּקְרְב֔וּ H7126 and put וַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּ H7760 אֶת H853 their feet רַגְלֵיהֶ֖ם H7272 עַֽל H5921 upon the necks צַוְּארֵיהֶֽם׃ H6677 of these kings הַמְּלָכִ֣ים H4428 הָאֵ֑לֶּה H428 And they came near וַֽיִּקְרְב֔וּ H7126 and put וַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּ H7760 אֶת H853 their feet רַגְלֵיהֶ֖ם H7272 עַל H5921 upon the necks צַוְּארֵיהֶֽם׃ H6677 25 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 אֲלֵיהֶם֙ H413 And Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ H3091 אַל H408 unto them Fear תִּֽירְא֖וּ H3372 וְאַל H408 not nor be dismayed תֵּחָ֑תּוּ H2865 be strong חִזְק֣וּ H2388 and of good courage וְאִמְצ֔וּ H553 כִּ֣י H3588 כָ֗כָה H3602 do יַֽעֲשֶׂ֤ה H6213 for thus shall the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 לְכָל H3605 to all your enemies אֹ֣יְבֵיכֶ֔ם H341 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 אַתֶּ֖ם H859 against whom ye fight נִלְחָמִ֥ים H3898 אוֹתָֽם׃ H853 26 smote וַיַּכֵּ֨ם H5221 Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֤עַ H3091 And afterward אַֽחֲרֵי H310 כֵן֙ H3651 them and slew וַיְמִיתֵ֔ם H4191 and they were hanging תְּלוּיִ֥ם H8518 עַ֖ל H5921 them on five חֲמִשָּׁ֣ה H2568 trees הָֽעֵצִ֖ים H6086 וַיִּֽהְי֛וּ H1961 and they were hanging תְּלוּיִ֥ם H8518 עַל H5921 trees הָֽעֵצִ֖ים H6086 עַד H5704 until the evening הָעָֽרֶב׃ H6153 27 וַיְהִ֞י H1961 And it came to pass at the time לְעֵ֣ת׀ H6256 of the going down בּ֣וֹא H935 of the sun הַשֶּׁ֗מֶשׁ H8121 commanded צִוָּ֤ה H6680 that Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ H3091 and they took them down וַיֹּֽרִידוּם֙ H3381 מֵעַ֣ל H5921 off the trees הָֽעֵצִ֔ים H6086 and cast וַיַּ֨שְׁלִכֻ֔ם H7993 אֶל H413 in the cave's הַמְּעָרָ֔ה H4631 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 wherein they had been hid נֶחְבְּאוּ H2244 שָׁ֑ם H8033 and laid וַיָּשִׂ֜מוּ H7760 stones אֲבָנִ֤ים H68 great גְּדֹלוֹת֙ H1419 עַל H5921 mouth פִּ֣י H6310 in the cave's הַמְּעָרָ֔ה H4631 עַד H5704 which remain until this very עֶ֖צֶם H6106 day הַיּ֥וֹם H3117 הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 28 וְאֶת H853 Makkedah מַקֵּדָ֔ה H4719 took לָכַ֨ד H3920 Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ H3091 And that day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 הַה֗וּא H1931 and smote וַיַּכֶּ֣הָ H5221 it with the edge לְפִי H6310 of the sword חֶרֶב֮ H2719 וְאֶת H853 and the king לְמֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 thereof he utterly destroyed הֶֽחֱרִ֣ם H2763 אוֹתָ֗ם H853 וְאֶת H853 כָּל H3605 them and all the souls הַנֶּ֙פֶשׁ֙ H5315 אֲשֶׁר H834 בָּ֔הּ H0 לֹ֥א H3808 that were therein he let הִשְׁאִ֖יר H7604 none remain שָׂרִ֑יד H8300 and he did עָשָׂ֖ה H6213 and the king לְמֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 Makkedah מַקֵּדָ֔ה H4719 כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 and he did עָשָׂ֖ה H6213 and the king לְמֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 of Jericho יְרִיחֽוֹ׃ H3405 29 passed וַיַּֽעֲבֹ֣ר H5674 Then Joshua יְ֠הוֹשֻׁעַ H3091 וְכָֽל H3605 and all Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל H3478 עִמּ֛וֹ H5973 H5927 Then Horam הֹרָם֙ H2036 king מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 of Gezer גֶּ֔זֶר H1507 to help לַעְזֹ֖ר H5826 אֶת H853 Lachish לָכִ֑ישׁ H3923 smote וַיַּכֵּ֤הוּ H5221 and Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ H3091 וְאֶת H853 him and חֶ֔רֶב H2719 וְאֵת֙ H853 כָּל H3605 and all the souls הַנֶּ֣פֶשׁ H5315 אֲשֶׁר H834 בָּ֔הּ H0 it on that day בַּיּ֥וֹם H3117 הַה֖וּא H1931 that were therein he utterly destroyed הֶֽחֱרִ֑ים H2763 כְּכֹ֥ל H3605 אֲשֶׁר H834 according to all that he had done עָשָׂ֖ה H6213 to Lachish לְלָכִֽישׁ׃ H3923 36 went up וַיַּ֣עַל H5927 And Joshua יְ֠הוֹשֻׁעַ H3091 וְכָֽל H3605 and all Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל אֶת H853 כָּל H3605 all the country הָאָ֡רֶץ H776 of the hills הָהָר֩ H2022 and of the south וְהַנֶּ֨גֶב H5045 and of the vale וְהַשְּׁפֵלָ֜ה H8219 and of the springs וְהָֽאֲשֵׁד֗וֹת H794 וְאֵת֙ H853
