pass when all the kings מַלְכֵ֤י H4428 of the Canaanites הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ H3669 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 עַל H5921 westward הַיָּ֔ם H3220 אֵ֠ת H853 אֲשֶׁר H834 had dried up הוֹבִ֨ישׁ H3001 that the LORD יְהוָ֜ה H3068 אֶת H853 the waters מֵ֧י H4325 of Jordan הַיַּרְדֵּ֛ן H3383 from before מִפְּנֵ֖י H6440 of the children בְּנֵֽי H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 עַד H5704 until we were passed over עָבְרָ֑נוּ וַיַּֽעַשׂ H6213 ל֥וֹ H0 And Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ H3091 knives חַֽרְב֣וֹת H2719 him sharp צֻרִ֑ים H6697 and circumcised וַיָּ֙מָל֙ H4135 אֶת H853 the children בְּנֵ֣י H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 H3605 All the people הָעָ֣ם H5971 after they came out בְּצֵאתָ֖ם H3318 of Egypt מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃ H4714 that were males הַזְּכָרִ֜ים H2145 כֹּ֣ל׀ H3605 even all the men אַנְשֵׁ֣י H582 of war הַמִּלְחָמָ֗ה H4421 died מֵ֤תוּ H4191 in the wilderness בַמִּדְבָּר֙ H4057 by the way בַּדֶּ֔רֶךְ H1870 after they came out בְּצֵאתָ֖ם H3318 of Egypt מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃ H4714 5 Now כִּֽי H3588 them they had not circumcised מָֽלוּ׃ H4135 הָי֔וּ H1961 כָּל H3605 all the people הָ֠עָם H5971 as they came forth בְּצֵאתָ֥ם H3318 וְכָל H3605 all the people הָ֠עָם H5971 that were born הַיִּלֹּדִ֨ים H3209 in the wilderness בַּמִּדְבָּ֥ר H4057 by the way בַּדֶּ֛רֶךְ H1870 as they came forth בְּצֵאתָ֥ם H3318 out of Egypt מִמִּצְרַ֖יִם H4714 לֹא H3808 them they had not circumcised מָֽלוּ׃ H4135 6 כִּ֣י׀ H3588 forty אַרְבָּעִ֣ים H705 years שָׁנָ֗ה H8141 walked הָֽלְכ֣וּ H1980 For the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ H3478 in the wilderness בַּמִּדְבָּר֒ H4057 עַד H5704 were consumed תֹּ֨ם H8552 כָּל H3605 till all the people הַגּ֜וֹי H1471 אַנְשֵׁ֤י H376 of war הַמִּלְחָמָה֙ H4421 which came out הַיֹּֽצְאִ֣ים H3318 of Egypt מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם H4714 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 לֹֽא H3808 because they obeyed שָׁמְע֖וּ H8085 not the voice בְּק֣וֹל H6963 of the LORD יְהוָ֤ה H3068 אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 sware נִשְׁבַּ֨ע H7650 of the LORD יְהוָ֤ה H3068 לָהֶ֔ם H0 לְבִלְתִּ֞י H1115 that he would not shew הַרְאוֹתָ֣ם H7200 אֶת H853 them the land אֶ֛רֶץ H776 אֲשֶׁר֩ H834 sware נִשְׁבַּ֨ע H7650 of the LORD יְהוָ֤ה H3068 unto their fathers לַֽאֲבוֹתָם֙ H1 that he would give לָ֣תֶת H5414 לָ֔נוּ H0 them the land אֶ֛רֶץ H776 that floweth זָבַ֥ת H2100 with milk חָלָ֖ב H2461 and honey וּדְבָֽשׁ׃ H1706 7 וְאֶת H853 And their children בְּנֵיהֶם֙ H1121 whom he raised up הֵקִ֣ים H6965 תַּחְתָּ֔ם H8478 אֹתָ֖ם H853 because they had not circumcised מָ֥לוּ H4135 in their stead them Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַ H3091 כִּֽי H3588 for they were uncircumcised עֲרֵלִ֣ים H6189 הָי֔וּ H1961 כִּ֛י H3588 לֹֽא H3808 because they had not circumcised מָ֥לוּ H4135 אוֹתָ֖ם H853 them by the way בַּדָּֽרֶךְ׃ H1870 8 וַיְהִ֛י H1961 כַּֽאֲשֶׁר H834 And it came to pass when they had done תַּ֥מּוּ H8552 כָל H3605 all the people הַגּ֖וֹי H1471 circumcising לְהִמּ֑וֹל H4135 that they abode וַיֵּֽשְׁב֥וּ H3427 תַחְתָּ֛ם H8478 in their places in the camp בַּֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה H4264 עַ֥ד H5704 till they were whole חֲיוֹתָֽם׃ H2421 9 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 And the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 אֶל H413 unto Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ H3091 This day הַיּ֥וֹם H3117 have I rolled away גַּלּ֛וֹתִי H1556 אֶת H853 the reproach חֶרְפַּ֥ת H2781 of Egypt מִצְרַ֖יִם H4714 מֵֽעֲלֵיכֶ֑ם H5921 is called וַיִּקְרָ֞א H7121 from off you Wherefore the name שֵׁ֣ם H8034 of the place הַמָּק֤וֹם H4725 הַהוּא֙ H1931 Gilgal גִּלְגָּ֔ל H1537 עַ֖ד H5704 This day הַיּ֥וֹם H3117 הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 10 encamped וַיַּֽחֲנ֥וּ H2583 And the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 in Gilgal בַּגִּלְגָּ֑ל H1537 and kept וַיַּֽעֲשׂ֣וּ H6213 אֶת H853 the passover הַפֶּ֡סַח H6453 on the fourteenth בְּאַרְבָּעָה֩ H702 עָשָׂ֨ר H6240 day י֥וֹם H3117 of the month לַחֹ֛דֶשׁ H2320 at even בָּעֶ֖רֶב H6153 in the plains בְּעַֽרְב֥וֹת H6160 of Jericho יְרִיחֽוֹ׃ H3405 11 And they did eat וַיֹּ֨אכְל֜וּ H398 of the old corn מֵֽעֲב֥וּר H5669 of the land הָאָ֛רֶץ H776 on the morrow מִמָּֽחֳרַ֥ת H4283 after the passover הַפֶּ֖סַח H6453 unleavened cakes מַצּ֣וֹת H4682 and parched וְקָל֑וּי H7033 corn in the selfsame בְּעֶ֖צֶם H6106 day הַיּ֥וֹם H3117 הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 12 ceased וַיִּשְׁבֹּ֨ת H7673 And the manna מָ֑ן H4478 on the morrow מִֽמָּחֳרָ֗ת H4283 after they had eaten וַיֹּֽאכְל֗וּ H398 of the old corn מֵֽעֲב֣וּר H5669 of the land אֶ֣רֶץ H776 וְלֹא H3808 הָ֥יָה H1961 ע֛וֹד H5750 neither had the children לִבְנֵ֥י H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 And the manna מָ֑ן H4478 after they had eaten וַיֹּֽאכְל֗וּ H398 of the fruit מִתְּבוּאַת֙ H8393 of the land אֶ֣רֶץ H776 of Canaan כְּנַ֔עַן H3667 that year בַּשָּׁנָ֖ה H8141 הַהִֽיא׃ H1931 13 וַיְהִ֗י H1961 בִּֽהְי֣וֹת H1961 And it came to pass when Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֤עַ H3091 was by Jericho בִּֽירִיחוֹ֒ H3405 that he lifted up וַיִּשָּׂ֤א H5375 his eyes עֵינָיו֙ H5869 and looked וַיַּ֔רְא H7200 וְהִנֵּה H2009 a man אִישׁ֙ H376 and behold there stood עֹמֵ֣ד H5975 לְנֶגְדּ֔וֹ H5048 over against him with his sword וְחַרְבּ֥וֹ H2719 drawn שְׁלוּפָ֖ה H8025 in his hand בְּיָד֑וֹ H3027 וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ H1980 And it came to pass when Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֤עַ H3091 אֵלָיו֙ H413 unto him and said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 ל֔וֹ H0 הֲלָ֥נוּ H0 אַתָּ֖ה H859 אִם H518 unto him Art thou for us or for our adversaries לְצָרֵֽינוּ׃ H6862 14 And he said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 לֹ֗א H3808 כִּ֛י H3588 אֲנִ֥י H589 Nay but as captain שַׂר H8269 of the host צְבָֽא H6635 of the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 עַתָּ֣ה H6258 am I now come בָ֑אתִי H935 fell וַיִּפֹּל֩ H5307 And Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֨עַ H3091 אֶל H413 on his face פָּנָ֥יו H6440 to the earth אַ֙רְצָה֙ H776 and did worship וַיִּשְׁתָּ֔חוּ H7812 And he said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 ל֔וֹ H0 מָ֥ה H4100 my lord אֲדֹנִ֖י H113 unto him What saith מְדַבֵּ֥ר H1696 אֶל H413 unto his servant עַבְדּֽוֹ׃ H5650 15 said וַיֹּאמֶר֩ H559 And the captain שַׂר H8269 host צְבָ֨א H6635 of the LORD'S יְהוָ֜ה H3068 אֶל H413 And Joshua יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ H3091 Loose שַׁל H5394 thy shoe נַֽעַלְךָ֙ H5275 מֵעַ֣ל H5921 from off thy foot רַגְלֶ֔ךָ H7272 כִּ֣י H3588 for the place הַמָּק֗וֹם H4725 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 אַתָּ֛ה H859 whereon thou standest
