H5927 and told וַיַּגֵּד֙ H5046 his father לְאָבִ֣יו H1 and his mother וּלְאִמּ֔וֹ H517 and said וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 a woman לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ H802 I have seen רָאִ֥יתִי H7200 in Timnath בְתִמְנָ֖תָה H8553 of the daughters מִבְּנ֣וֹת H1323 of the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים H6430 וְעַתָּ֕ה H6258 now therefore get קְחוּ H3947 אוֹתָ֥הּ H853 לִּ֖י H0 a woman לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ H802 3 said וַיֹּ֨אמֶר H559 ל֜וֹ H0 Then his father אָבִיו֙ H1 and his mother וְאִמּ֗וֹ H517 unto him Is there never הַאֵין֩ H369 among the daughters בִּבְנ֨וֹת H1323 of thy brethren אַחֶ֤יךָ H251 וּבְכָל H3605 or among all my people עַמִּי֙ occasion תֹאֲנָ֥ה H8385 הֽוּא H1931 that he sought מְבַקֵּ֖שׁ H1245 against the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים H6430 for at that time וּבָעֵ֣ת H6256 הַהִ֔יא H1931 against the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים H6430 had dominion מֹֽשְׁלִ֥ים H4910 over Israel בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 5 Then went וַיֵּ֧רֶד H3381 Samson שִׁמְשׁ֛וֹן H8123 and his father וְאָבִ֥יו H1 and his mother וְאִמּ֖וֹ H517 of Timnath תִמְנָ֔תָה H8553 and came וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ H935 עַד H5704 to the vineyards כַּרְמֵ֣י H3754 of Timnath תִמְנָ֔תָה H8553 וְהִנֵּה֙ H2009 and behold a young כְּפִ֣יר H3715 lion אֲרָי֔וֹת H738 roared שֹׁאֵ֖ג H7580 against לִקְרָאתֽוֹ׃ H7125 6 came mightily וַתִּצְלַ֨ח H6743 עָלָ֜יו H5921 And the Spirit ר֣וּחַ H7307 of the LORD יְהוָ֗ה H3068 him as he would have rent כְּשַׁסַּ֣ע H8156 him as he would have rent כְּשַׁסַּ֣ע H8156 a kid הַגְּדִ֔י H1423 and he had nothing וּמְא֖וּמָה H3972 אֵ֣ין H369 in his hand בְּיָד֑וֹ H3027 וְלֹ֤א H3808 but he told הִגִּיד֙ H5046 not his father לְאָבִ֣יו H1 or his mother וּלְאִמּ֔וֹ H517 אֵ֖ת H853 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 what he had done עָשָֽׂה׃ H6213 7 And he went down וַיֵּ֖רֶד H3381 and talked וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר H1696 with the woman לָֽאִשָּׁ֑ה H802 and she pleased וַתִּישַׁ֖ר H3474 בְּעֵינֵ֥י H5869 Samson שִׁמְשֽׁוֹן׃ H8123 8 he returned וַיָּ֤שָׁב H7725 And after a time מִיָּמִים֙ H3117 to take לְקַחְתָּ֔הּ H3947 her and he turned aside וַיָּ֣סַר H5493 to see לִרְא֔וֹת H7200 אֵ֖ת H853 the carcase מַפֶּ֣לֶת H4658 of the lion הָֽאַרְיֵ֖ה H738 וְהִנֵּ֨ה H2009 and behold there was a swarm עֲדַ֧ת H5712 of bees דְּבוֹרִ֛ים H1682 in the carcase בִּגְוִיַּ֥ת H1472 of the lion הָֽאַרְיֵ֖ה H738 and honey וּדְבָֽשׁ׃ H1706 9 And he took רָדָ֥ה H7287 אֶל H413 thereof in his hands כַּפָּ֗יו H3709 and came וַיֵּ֙לֶךְ֙ H1980 and came וַיֵּ֙לֶךְ֙ H1980 eating וַיֹּאכֵ֑לוּ H398 and came וַיֵּ֙לֶךְ֙ H1980 אֶל H413 to his father אָבִ֣יו H1 וְאֶל H413 and mother אִמּ֔וֹ H517 and he gave וַיִּתֵּ֥ן H5414 לָהֶ֖ם H0 eating וַיֹּאכֵ֑לוּ H398 וְלֹֽא H3808 but he told הִגִּ֣יד H5046 לָהֶ֔ם H0 כִּ֛י H3588 out of the carcase מִגְּוִיַּ֥ת H1472 of the lion הָֽאַרְיֵ֖ה H738 And he took רָדָ֥ה H7287 the honey הַדְּבָֽשׁ׃ H1706 10 went down וַיֵּ֥רֶד H3381 So his father אָבִ֖יהוּ H1 אֶל H413 unto the woman הָֽאִשָּׁ֑ה H802 made יַֽעֲשׂ֖וּ H6213 שָׁ֤ם H8033 and Samson שִׁמְשׁוֹן֙ H8123 there a feast מִשְׁתֶּ֔ה H4960 כִּ֛י H3588 כֵּ֥ן H3651 made יַֽעֲשׂ֖וּ H6213 for so used the young men הַבַּֽחוּרִֽים׃ H970 11 וַיְהִ֖י H1961 And it came to pass when they saw כִּרְאוֹתָ֣ם H7200 אוֹת֑וֹ H853 him that they brought וַיִּקְחוּ֙ H3947 thirty שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים H7970 companions מֵֽרֵעִ֔ים H4828 וַיִּֽהְי֖וּ H1961 אִתּֽוֹ׃ H854 12 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 לָהֶם֙ H0 And Samson שִׁמְשׁ֔וֹן H8123 unto them I will now put forth אָחֽוּדָה H2330 נָּ֥א H4994 לָכֶ֖ם H0 a riddle חִידָ֑ה H2420 אִם H518 declare תַּגִּידוּ֩ H5046 declare תַּגִּידוּ֩ H5046 אוֹתָ֨הּ H853 לִ֜י H0 it me within the seven שִׁבְעַ֨ת H7651 days יְמֵ֤י H3117 of the feast הַמִּשְׁתֶּה֙ H4960 and find it out וּמְצָאתֶ֔ם H4672 then I will give וְנָֽתַתִּ֤י H5414 לָכֶם֙ H0 and thirty וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים H7970 sheets סְדִינִ֔ים H5466 and thirty וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים H7970 change חֲלִפֹ֥ת H2487 of garments בְּגָדִֽים׃ H899 13 וְאִם H518 לֹ֣א H3808 But if ye cannot תֽוּכְלוּ֮ H3201 declare לְהַגִּ֣יד H5046 לִי֒ H0 it me then shall ye give וּנְתַתֶּ֨ם H5414 אַתֶּ֥ם H859 לִי֙ H0 and thirty וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים H7970 sheets סְדִינִ֔ים H5466 and thirty וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים H7970 change חֲלִיפ֣וֹת H2487 of garments בְּגָדִ֑ים H899 And they said וַיֹּ֣אמְרוּ H559 ל֔וֹ H0 unto him Put forth ח֥וּדָה H2330 thy riddle חִידָֽתְךָ֖ H2420 that we may hear וְנִשְׁמָעֶֽנָּה׃ H8085 14 And he said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 לָהֶ֗ם H0 unto them Out of the eater מֵהָֽאֹכֵל֙ H398 came forth יָצָ֣א H3318 meat מַֽאֲכָ֔ל H3978 and out of the strong וּמֵעַ֖ז H5794 came forth יָצָ֣א H3318 sweetness מָת֑וֹק H4966 וְלֹ֥א H3808 And they could יָֽכְל֛וּ H3201 expound לְהַגִּ֥יד H5046 the riddle הַֽחִידָ֖ה H2420 not in three שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת H7969 days יָמִֽים׃ H3117 15 וַיְהִ֣י׀ H1961 day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 And it came to pass on the seventh הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י H7637 that they said וַיֹּֽאמְר֤וּ H559 wife לְאֵֽשֶׁת H802 unto Samson's שִׁמְשׁוֹן֙ H8123 Entice פַּתִּ֣י H6601 אֶת H853 thy husband אִישֵׁ֗ךְ H376 that he may declare וְיַגֶּד H5046 לָ֙נוּ֙ H0 אֶת H853 unto us the riddle הַ֣חִידָ֔ה H2420 פֶּן H6435 lest we burn נִשְׂרֹ֥ף H8313 אוֹתָ֛ךְ H853 וְאֶת H853 house בֵּ֥ית H1004 thee and thy father's אָבִ֖יךְ H1 with fire בָּאֵ֑שׁ H784 us to take that we have הַלְיָרְשֵׁ֕נוּ H3423 have ye called קְרָאתֶ֥ם H7121 לָ֖נוּ H0 הֲלֹֽא׃ H3808 16 wept וַתֵּבְךְּ֩ H1058 wife אֵ֨שֶׁת H802 And Samson's שִׁמְשׁ֜וֹן H8123 עָלָ֗יו H5921 before him and said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 רַק H7535 Thou dost but hate שְׂנֵאתַ֙נִי֙ H8130 וְלֹ֣א H3808 me and lovest אֲהַבְתָּ֔נִי H157 a riddle הַֽחִידָ֥ה H2420 me not thou hast put forth חַ֙דְתָּ֙ H2330 unto the children לִבְנֵ֣י H1121 of my people עַמִּ֔י H5971 וְלִ֖י H0 לֹ֣א H3808 and hast not told אַגִּֽיד׃ H5046 before him and said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 לָ֗הּ H0 הִנֵּ֨ה H2009 it my father לְאָבִ֧י H1 nor my mother וּלְאִמִּ֛י H517 לֹ֥א H3808 and hast not told אַגִּֽיד׃ H5046 וְלָ֥ךְ H0 and hast not told אַגִּֽיד׃ H5046 17 And she wept וַתֵּ֤בְךְּ H1058 עָלָיו֙ H5921 before him the seven שִׁבְעַ֣ת H7651 day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 אֲשֶׁר H834 lasted וַיְהִ֣י׀ H1961 לָהֶ֖ם H0 while their feast הַמִּשְׁתֶּ֑ה H4960 lasted וַיְהִ֣י׀ H1961 day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 and it came to pass on the seventh הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י H7637 that he told וַתַּגֵּ֥ד H5046 לָהּ֙ H0 כִּ֣י H3588 her because she lay sore הֱצִיקַ֔תְהוּ H6693 that he told וַתַּגֵּ֥ד H5046 the riddle הַֽחִידָ֖ה H2420 to the children לִבְנֵ֥י H1121 of her people עַמָּֽהּ׃ H5971 18 And he said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 לוֹ֩ H0 אַנְשֵׁ֨י H376 of the city הָעִ֜יר H5892 day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 unto him on the seventh הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י H7637 בְּטֶ֙רֶם֙ H2962 went down יָבֹ֣א H935 before the sun הַחַ֔רְסָה H2775 מַה H4100 What is sweeter מָּת֣וֹק H4966 than honey מִדְּבַ֔שׁ H1706 וּמֶ֥ה H4100 and what is stronger עַ֖ז H5794 than a lion מֵֽאֲרִ֑י H738 And he said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 לָהֶ֔ם H0 unto them If לוּלֵא֙ H3884 ye had not plowed חֲרַשְׁתֶּ֣ם H2790 with my heifer בְּעֶגְלָתִ֔י H5697 לֹ֥א H3808 ye had not found out מְצָאתֶ֖ם H4672 my riddle חִֽידָתִֽי׃ H2420 19 came וַתִּצְלַ֨ח H6743 עָלָ֜יו H5921 And the Spirit ר֣וּחַ H7307 of the LORD יְהוָ֗ה H3068 upon him and he went down וַיֵּ֨רֶד H3381 to Ashkelon אַשְׁקְל֜וֹן H831 and slew וַיַּ֥ךְ H5221 מֵהֶ֣ם׀ H1992 thirty שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים H7970 men אִ֗ישׁ H376 of them and took וַיִּקַּח֙ H3947 אֶת H853 their spoil חֲלִ֣יצוֹתָ֔ם H2488 and gave וַיִּתֵּן֙ H5414 change הַֽחֲלִיפ֔וֹת H2487 of garments unto them which expounded לְמַגִּידֵ֖י H5046 the riddle הַֽחִידָ֑ה H2420 was kindled וַיִּ֣חַר H2734 And his anger אַפּ֔וֹ H639 and he went up וַיַּ֖עַל H5927 house בֵּ֥ית H1004 to his father's אָבִֽיהוּ׃ H1 20 וַתְּהִ֖י H1961 wife אֵ֣שֶׁת H802 But Samson's שִׁמְשׁ֑וֹן H8123 was given to his companion
