H5892 twenty עֶשְׂרִ֨ים H6242 and six וְשִׁשָּׁ֥ה H8337 thousand אֶ֛לֶף H505 men אִ֥ישׁ H376 that drew שֹׁ֣לֵֽף H8025 sword חָ֑רֶב H2719 לְ֠בַד H905 beside the inhabitants מִיֹּֽשְׁבֵ֤י H3427 of stones בָּאֶ֛בֶן H68 אֶל H413 at an hair הַֽשַּׂעֲרָ֖ה H8185 וְלֹ֥א H3808 breadth and not miss יַֽחֲטִֽא׃ H2398 17 And the men אִ֥ישׁ H376 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל H3478 were numbered הִתְפָּֽקְד֗וּ בֵֽאלֹהִים֒ H430 and said וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 And the children בְּנֵ֣י H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 Which מִ֚י H4310 and went up יַֽעֲלֶה H5927 לָּ֣נוּ H0 first בַתְּחִלָּֽה׃ H8462 to the battle לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה H4421 עִם H5973 And the children בְּנֵ֣י H1121 of Benjamin בִנְיָמִ֑ן H1144 and said וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 And the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 Judah יְהוּדָ֥ה H3063 first בַתְּחִלָּֽה׃ H8462 19 rose up וַיָּק֥וּמוּ H6965 And the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 in the morning בַּבֹּ֑קֶר H1242 and encamped וַיַּֽחֲנ֖וּ H2583 עַל H5921 against Gibeah הַגִּבְעָֽה׃ H1390 20 went out וַיֵּצֵא֙ H3318 And the men אִֽישׁ H376 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל H3478 to battle מִלְחָמָ֖ה H4421 עִם H5973 against Benjamin בִּנְיָמִ֑ן H1144 put themselves in array וַיַּֽעַרְכ֨וּ H6186 אִתָּ֧ם H853 And the men אִֽישׁ H376 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל H3478 to battle מִלְחָמָ֖ה H4421 אֶל H413 against them at Gibeah הַגִּבְעָֽה׃ H1390 21 came forth וַיֵּֽצְא֥וּ H3318 And the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Benjamin בִנְיָמִ֖ן H1144 מִן H4480 out of Gibeah הַגִּבְעָ֑ה H1390 and destroyed down וַיַּשְׁחִ֨יתוּ H7843 of the Israelites בְיִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל H3478 that day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 הַה֗וּא H1931 and two שְׁנַ֨יִם H8147 twenty וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים H6242 thousand אֶ֛לֶף H505 men אִ֖ישׁ H376 to the ground אָֽרְצָה׃ H776 22 encouraged וַיִּתְחַזֵּ֥ק H2388 And the people הָעָ֖ם H5971 the men אִ֣ישׁ H376 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 again וַיֹּסִ֙פוּ֙ H3254 in array עָ֥רְכוּ H6186 themselves and set their battle מִלְחָמָ֔ה H4421 in the place בַּמָּק֕וֹם H4725 אֲשֶׁר H834 in array עָ֥רְכוּ H6186 שָׁ֖ם H8033 day בַּיּ֥וֹם H3117 the first הָֽרִאשֽׁוֹן׃ H7223 23 Go up עֲל֥וּ H5927 And the children בְּנֵ֥י H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל H3478 and wept וַיִּבְכּ֣וּ H1058 before לִפְנֵֽי H6440 And the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 עַד H5704 until even הָעֶרֶב֒ H6153 and asked וַיִּשְׁאֲל֤וּ H7592 And the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 said וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 again הַֽאוֹסִ֗יף H3254 Shall I go up לָגֶ֙שֶׁת֙ H5066 to battle לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה H4421 עִם H5973 And the children בְּנֵ֥י H1121 of Benjamin בִנְיָמִ֖ן H1144 my brother אָחִ֑י H251 said וַיֹּ֥אמֶר H559 And the LORD יְהוָ֖ה H3068 Go up עֲל֥וּ H5927 אֵלָֽיו׃ H413 24 came near וַיִּקְרְב֧וּ H7126 And the children בְּנֵ֥י H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל H3478 אֶל H413 And the children בְּנֵ֥י H1121 of Benjamin בִנְיָמִ֖ן H1144 day בַּיּ֥וֹם H3117 the second הַשֵּׁנִֽי׃ H8145 25 went forth וַיֵּצֵא֩ H3318 And Benjamin בִנְיָמִ֨ן׀ H1144 against לִקְרָאתָ֥ם׀ H7125 מִֽן H4480 them out of Gibeah הַגִּבְעָה֮ H1390 day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 the second הַשֵּׁנִי֒ H8145 and destroyed down וַיַּשְׁחִיתוּ֩ H7843 of the children בִבְנֵ֨י H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל H3478 ע֗וֹד H5750 again eighteen שְׁמֹנַ֨ת H8083 עָשָׂ֥ר H6240 thousand אֶ֛לֶף H505 men אִ֖ישׁ H376 to the ground אָ֑רְצָה H776 כָּל H3605 אֵ֖לֶּה H428 all these drew שֹׁ֥לְפֵי H8025 the sword חָֽרֶב׃ H2719 26 and offered וַֽיַּעֲל֛וּ H5927 כָל H3605 Then all the children בְּנֵי֩ H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל H3478 וְכָל H3605 and all the people הָעָ֜ם H5971 and came וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ H935 unto the house בֵֽית H1004 אֵ֗ל H1008 and wept וַיִּבְכּוּ֙ H1058 and sat וַיֵּ֤שְׁבוּ H3427 שָׁם֙ H8033 before לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 and fasted וַיָּצ֥וּמוּ H6684 that day בַיּוֹם H3117 הַה֖וּא H1931 עַד H5704 until even הָעָ֑רֶב H6153 and offered וַֽיַּעֲל֛וּ H5927 burnt offerings עֹל֥וֹת H5930 and peace offerings וּשְׁלָמִ֖ים H8002 before לִפְנֵ֥י H6440 the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 27 enquired וַיִּשְׁאֲל֥וּ H7592 And the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 of the LORD בַּֽיהוָ֑ה H3068 וְשָׁ֗ם H8033 for the ark אֲרוֹן֙ H727 of the covenant בְּרִ֣ית H1285 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים H430 was there in those days בַּיָּמִ֖ים H3117 הָהֵֽם׃ H1992 28 And Phinehas וּ֠פִֽינְחָס H6372 against the children בְּנֵֽי H1121 of Eleazar אֶלְעָזָ֨ר H499 against the children בְּנֵֽי H1121 of Aaron אַהֲרֹ֜ן H175 stood עֹמֵ֣ד׀ H5975 before לְפָנָ֗יו H6440 it in those days בַּיָּמִ֣ים H3117 הָהֵם֮ H1992 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 Shall I yet again הַֽאוֹסִ֨ף H3254 ע֜וֹד H5750 go out לָצֵ֧את H3318 to battle לַמִּלְחָמָ֛ה H4421 עִם H5973 against the children בְּנֵֽי H1121 of Benjamin בִנְיָמִ֥ן H1144 my brother אָחִ֖י H251 אִם H518 or shall I cease אֶחְדָּ֑ל H2308 said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 And the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 Go up עֲל֔וּ H5927 כִּ֥י H3588 for to morrow מָחָ֖ר H4279 I will deliver אֶתְּנֶ֥נּוּ H5414 them into thine hand בְיָדֶֽךָ׃ H3027 29 set וַיָּ֤שֶׂם H7760 And Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 liers in wait אֹֽרְבִ֔ים H693 אֶל H413 Gibeah הַגִּבְעָ֖ה H1390 round about סָבִֽיב׃ H5439 30 went up וַיַּֽעֲל֧וּ H5927 And the children בְּנֵ֥י H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל H3478 אֶל H413 And the children בְּנֵ֥י H1121 of Benjamin בִנְיָמִ֖ן H1144 day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 on the third הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֑י H7992 and put themselves in array וַיַּֽעַרְכ֥וּ H6186 אֶל H413 against Gibeah הַגִּבְעָ֖ה H1390 as at other times בְּפָֽעַם׃ H6471 as at other times בְּפָֽעַם׃ H6471 31 went out וַיֵּֽצְא֤וּ H3318 And the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Benjamin בִנְיָמִן֙ H1144 against לִקְרַ֣את H7125 of the people מֵֽהָעָ֨ם H5971 and were drawn away הָנְתְּק֖וּ H5423 מִן H4480 from the city הָעִ֑יר H5892 and they began וַיָּחֵ֡לּוּ H2490 to smite לְהַכּוֹת֩ H5221 of the people מֵֽהָעָ֨ם H5971 and kill חֲלָלִ֜ים H2491 as at other times בְּפַ֗עַם H6471 as at other times בְּפַ֗עַם H6471 in the highways בַּֽמְסִלּוֹת֙ H4546 אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 and the other וְאַחַ֤ת H259 goeth up עֹלָ֣ה H5927 to the house בֵֽית H1004 אֵ֗ל H1008 and the other וְאַחַ֤ת H259 to Gibeah גִּבְעָ֙תָה֙ H1390 in the field בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה H7704 about thirty כִּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים H7970 men אִ֖ישׁ H376 of Israel בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ H3478 32 said אָֽמְר֗וּ H559 And the children וּבְנֵ֧י H1121 of Benjamin בִנְיָמִ֔ן H1144 They are smitten down נִגָּפִ֥ים H5062 הֵ֛ם H1992 before לְפָנֵ֖ינוּ H6440 us as at the first כְּבָרִֽאשֹׁנָ֑ה H7223 And the children וּבְנֵ֧י H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל H3478 said אָֽמְר֗וּ H559 Let us flee נָנ֙וּסָה֙ H5127 and draw וּֽנְתַקְּנ֔וּהוּ H5423 מִן H4480 them from the city הָעִ֖יר H5892 אֶל H413 unto the highways הַֽמְסִלּֽוֹת׃ H4546 33 וְכֹ֣ל׀ H3605 And all the men אִ֣ישׁ H376 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל H3478 rose up קָ֚מוּ H6965 out of their place מִמְּקֹמ֖וֹ H4725 and put themselves in array וַיַּֽעַרְכ֖וּ H6186 בְּבַ֣עַל H0 at Baaltamar תָּמָ֑ר H1193 and the liers in wait וְאֹרֵ֧ב H693 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל H3478 came forth מֵגִ֥יחַ H1518 out of their place מִמְּקֹמ֖וֹ H4725 even out of the meadows מִמַּֽעֲרֵה H4629 גָֽבַע׃ H1390 34 And there came וַיָּבֹאוּ֩ H935 against מִנֶּ֨גֶד H5048 Gibeah לַגִּבְעָ֜ה H1390 ten עֲשֶׂרֶת֩ H6235 thousand אֲלָפִ֨ים H505 men אִ֤ישׁ H376 chosen בָּחוּר֙ H977 מִכָּל H3605 out of all Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 and the battle וְהַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה H4421 was sore כָּבֵ֑דָה H3513 וְהֵם֙ H1992 לֹ֣א H3808 but they knew יָֽדְע֔וּ H3045 כִּֽי H3588 was near נֹגַ֥עַת H5060 עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם H5921 not that evil הָֽרָעָֽה׃ H7451 35 smote וַיִּגֹּ֨ף H5062 And the LORD יְהוָ֥ה׀ H3068 אֶֽת H853 Benjamin H8025 the sword חָֽרֶב׃ H2719 36 saw וַיִּרְא֥וּ H7200 So the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Benjamin לְבִנְיָמִ֔ן H1144 כִּ֣י H3588 that they were smitten נִגָּ֑פוּ H5062 gave וַיִּתְּנ֨וּ H5414 for the men אִֽישׁ H376 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל H3478 place מָקוֹם֙ H4725 of Benjamin לְבִנְיָמִ֔ן H1144 כִּ֤י H3588 because they trusted בָֽטְחוּ֙ H982 אֶל H413 unto the liers in wait הָ֣אֹרֵ֔ב H693 אֲשֶׁר H834 which they had set שָׂ֖מוּ H7760 אֶל H413 beside Gibeah הַגִּבְעָֽה׃ H1390 37 And the liers in wait הָֽאֹרֵ֔ב H693 hasted הֵחִ֔ישׁוּ H2363 and rushed וַֽיִּפְשְׁט֖וּ H6584 אֶל H413 upon Gibeah הַגִּבְעָ֑ה H1390 drew themselves along וַיִּמְשֹׁךְ֙ H4900 And the liers in wait הָֽאֹרֵ֔ב H693 and smote וַיַּ֥ךְ H5221 אֶת H853 כָּל H3605 all the city הָעִ֖יר H5892 with the edge לְפִי H6310 of of the city הָעִ֖יר H5892 with a pillar עַמּ֣וּד H5982 of smoke עָשָׁ֑ן H6227 looked וַיִּ֤פֶן H6437 בִּנְיָמִן֙ H1144 behind אַֽחֲרָ֔יו H310 וְהִנֵּ֛ה H2009 ascended up עָלָ֥ה H5927 them and behold the flame כְלִיל H3632 of the city הָעִ֖יר H5892 to heaven הַשָּׁמָֽיְמָה׃ H8064 41 And when the men אִ֣ישׁ H376 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 turned again הָפַ֔ךְ H2015 were amazed וַיִּבָּהֵ֖ל H926 the wilderness הַמִּדְבָּ֙רָה֙ H4057 אֶל H413 unto the rock סֶ֣לַע H5553 of Rimmon הָֽרִמּ֔וֹן H7417 and they gleaned וַיְעֹֽלְלֻ֙הוּ֙ H5953 of them in the highways בַּֽמְסִלּ֔וֹת H4546 five חֲמֵ֥שֶׁת H2568 thousand אַלְפַּ֥יִם H505 men אִֽישׁ׃ H376 and pursued וַיַּדְבִּ֤יקוּ H1692 hard after אַֽחֲרָיו֙ H310 עַד H5704 them unto Gidom גִּדְעֹ֔ם H1440 and slew וַיַּכּ֥וּ H5221 מִמֶּ֖נּוּ H4480 thousand אַלְפַּ֥יִם H505 men אִֽישׁ׃ H376 46 וַיְהִי֩ H1961 כָל H3605 So that all which fell הַנֹּ֨פְלִ֜ים H5307 of Benjamin מִבִּנְיָמִ֗ן H1144 were twenty עֶשְׂרִים֩ H6242 and five וַֽחֲמִשָּׁ֨ה מֵא֖וֹת H3967 men אִ֑ישׁ H376 and abode וַיֵּֽשְׁבוּ֙ H3427 in the rock בְּסֶ֣לַע H5553 Rimmon רִמּ֔וֹן H7417 four אַרְבָּעָ֖ה H702 months חֳדָשִֽׁים׃ H2320 48 And the men וְאִ֨ישׁ H376 of Israel all the cities הֶֽעָרִ֥ים H5892 as well the men מְתֹם֙ H4974 as עַ֖ד H5704 the beast בְּהֵמָ֔ה H929 as עַ֖ד H5704 כָּל H3605 and all that came to hand הַנִּמְצָא֖וֹת H4672 גַּ֛ם H1571 כָּל H3605 all
