וְהַצִּ֣ידֹנִ֔י H6722 and the Hivites וְהַ֣חִוִּ֔י H2340 that dwelt יֹשֵׁ֖ב H3427 from mount מֵהַר֙ H2022 Lebanon הַלְּבָנ֑וֹן H3844 from mount מֵהַר֙ H2022 בַּ֣עַל H0 Baalhermon חֶרְמ֔וֹן H1179 עַ֖ד H5704 unto the entering in לְב֥וֹא H935 of Hamath חֲמָֽת׃ H2574 4 וַיִּֽהְי֕וּ H1961 And they were to prove לְנַסּ֥וֹת H5254 בָּ֖ם H0 אֶת H853 Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 by them to know לָדַ֗עַת H3045 by the hand בְּיַד H3027 of Moses מֹשֶֽׁה׃ H4872 5 And the children וּבְנֵ֣י H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 dwelt יָֽשְׁב֖וּ H3427 among בְּקֶ֣רֶב H7130 the Canaanites הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֑י H3669 Hittites הַֽחִתִּ֤י H2850 and Amorites וְהָֽאֱמֹרִי֙ H567 and Perizzites וְהַפְּרִזִּ֔י H6522 and Hivites וְהַֽחִוִּ֖י H2340 and Jebusites וְהַיְבוּסִֽי׃ H2983 6 And they took וַיִּקְח֨וּ H3947 אֶת H853 their daughters בְּנֽוֹתֵיהֶ֖ם H1323 לָהֶם֙ H1992 to be their wives לְנָשִׁ֔ים H802 וְאֶת H853 their daughters בְּנֽוֹתֵיהֶ֖ם H1323 and gave נָֽתְנ֣וּ H5414 to their sons לִבְנֵיהֶ֑ם H1121 and served וַיַּֽעַבְד֖וּ H5647 אֶת H853 their gods אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶֽם׃ H430 7 did וַיַּֽעֲשׂ֨וּ H6213 And the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל H3478 אֶת H853 evil הָרַע֙ H7451 in the sight בְּעֵינֵ֣י H5869 of the LORD יְהוָ֣ה H3068 and forgat וַֽיִּשְׁכְּח֖וּ H7911 אֶת H853 of the LORD יְהוָ֣ה H3068 their God אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם H430 and served וַיַּֽעַבְד֥וּ H5647 אֶת H853 Baalim הַבְּעָלִ֖ים H1168 וְאֶת H853 hand בְּיַד֙ H3027 כּוּשַׁ֣ן H0 Chushanrishathaim רִשְׁעָתַ֖יִם H3573 king מֶ֖לֶךְ H4428 אֲרַ֣ם H0 of Mesopotamia נַֽהֲרָ֑יִם H763 served וַיַּֽעַבְד֧וּ H5647 and the children בְנֵֽי H1121 against Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל H3478 אֶת H853 כּוּשַׁ֥ן H0 Chushanrishathaim רִשְׁעָתַ֖יִם H3573 eight שְׁמֹנֶ֥ה H8083 years שָׁנִֽים׃ H8141 9 cried וַיִּזְעֲק֤וּ H2199 And when the children בֶּן H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 אֶל H413 the LORD יְהוָ֥ה H3068 raised up וַיָּ֨קֶם H6965 the LORD יְהוָ֥ה H3068 a deliverer וַיּֽוֹשִׁיעֵ֑ם H3467 And when the children בֶּן H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל H3478 a וַיֵּצֵא֙ H3318 to war לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה H4421 delivered וַיִּתֵּ֤ן H5414 and the LORD יְהוָה֙ H3068 and his hand יָד֔וֹ H3027 אֶת H853 כּוּשַׁ֥ן H0 Chushanrishathaim רִשְׁעָתָֽיִם׃ H3573 king מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 of Mesopotamia אֲרָ֑ם H763 prevailed וַתָּ֣עָז H5810 and his hand יָד֔וֹ H3027 עַ֖ל H5921 כּוּשַׁ֥ן H0 Chushanrishathaim רִשְׁעָתָֽיִם׃ H3573 11 had rest וַתִּשְׁקֹ֥ט H8252 And the land הָאָ֖רֶץ H776 forty אַרְבָּעִ֣ים H705 years שָׁנָ֑ה H8141 died וַיָּ֖מָת H4191 And Othniel עָתְנִיאֵ֥ל H6274 the son בֶּן H1121 of Kenaz קְנַֽז׃ H7073 12 again וַיֹּסִ֙פוּ֙ H3254 And the children בְּנֵ֣י H1121 against Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 because they had done עָשׂ֥וּ H6213 evil הָרַ֖ע H7451 in the sight בְּעֵינֵ֥י H5869 and the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 strengthened וַיְחַזֵּ֨ק H2388 and the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 אֶת H853 Eglon עֶגְל֤וֹן H5700 the king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Moab מוֹאָב֙ H4124 עַל H5921 against Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 עַ֛ל H5921 כִּֽי H3588 because they had done עָשׂ֥וּ H6213 אֶת H853 evil הָרַ֖ע H7451 in the sight בְּעֵינֵ֥י H5869 and the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 13 And he gathered וַיֶּֽאֱסֹ֣ף H622 אֵלָ֔יו H413 אֶת H853 unto him the children בְּנֵ֥י H1121 of Ammon עַמּ֖וֹן H5983 and Amalek וַֽעֲמָלֵ֑ק H6002 וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ H1980 and smote וַיַּךְ֙ H5221 אֶת H853 Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 and possessed וַיִּֽירְשׁ֖וּ H3423 אֶת H853 the city עִ֥יר H5892 of palm trees הַתְּמָרִֽים׃ H8558 14 served וַיַּֽעַבְד֤וּ H5647 So the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ H3478 אֶת H853 Eglon עֶגְל֣וֹן H5700 the king מֶֽלֶךְ H4428 of Moab מוֹאָ֔ב H4124 eighteen שְׁמוֹנֶ֥ה H8083 עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה H6240 years שָׁנָֽה׃ H8141 15 cried וַיִּזְעֲק֣וּ H2199 But when the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל H3478 אֶל H413 the LORD יְהוָ֨ה H3068 raised them up וַיָּקֶם֩ H6965 the LORD יְהוָ֨ה H3068 לָהֶ֜ם H0 a deliverer מוֹשִׁ֗יעַ H3467 אֶת H853 Ehud אֵה֤וּד H164 But when the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Gera גֵּרָא֙ H1617 בֶּן H0 a Benjamite הַיְמִינִ֔י H1145 a man אִ֥ישׁ H376 lefthanded אִטֵּ֖ר H334 and by him בְּיָדוֹ֙ H3027 יְמִינ֑וֹ H3225 sent וַיִּשְׁלְח֨וּ H7971 But when the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל H3478 and by him בְּיָדוֹ֙ H3027 a present מִנְחָ֔ה H4503 unto Eglon לְעֶגְל֖וֹן H5700 the king מֶ֥לֶךְ H4428 of Moab מוֹאָֽב׃ H4124 16 made וַיַּעַשׂ֩ H6213 ל֨וֹ H0 But Ehud אֵה֜וּד H164 him a dagger חֶ֗רֶב H2719 וְלָ֛הּ H0 which had two שְׁנֵ֥י H8147 edges פֵי֖וֹת H6366 of a cubit גֹּ֣מֶד H1574 length אָרְכָּ֑הּ H753 and he did gird וַיַּחְגֹּ֤ר H2296 אוֹתָהּ֙ H853 מִתַּ֣חַת H8478 it under his raiment לְמַדָּ֔יו H4055 עַ֖ל H5921 thigh יֶ֥רֶךְ H3409 upon his right יְמִינֽוֹ׃ H3225 17 And he brought וַיַּקְרֵב֙ H7126 אֶת H853 the present הַמִּנְחָ֔ה H4503 and Eglon וְעֶגְל֕וֹן H5700 king מֶ֣לֶךְ H4428 of Moab מוֹאָ֑ב H4124 and Eglon וְעֶגְל֕וֹן H5700 man אִ֥ישׁ H376 fat בָּרִ֖יא H1277 was a very מְאֹֽד׃ H3966 18 וַֽיְהִי֙ H1961 כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 And when he had made an end כִּלָּ֔ה H3615 to offer לְהַקְרִ֖יב H7126 אֶת H853 the present הַמִּנְחָֽה׃ H4503 he sent away וַיְשַׁלַּח֙ H7971 אֶת H853 the people הָעָ֔ם H5971 that bare נֹֽשְׂאֵ֖י H5375 the present הַמִּנְחָֽה׃ H4503 19 וְה֣וּא H1931 But he himself turned again שָׁ֗ב H7725 מִן H4480 from the quarries הַפְּסִילִים֙ H6456 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 אֶת H854 that were by Gilgal הַגִּלְגָּ֔ל H1537 and said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 errand דְּבַר H1697 I have a secret סֵ֥תֶר H5643 לִ֛י H0 אֵלֶ֖יךָ H413 unto thee O king הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ H4428 and said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 Keep silence הָ֔ס H2013 by him went out וַיֵּֽצְאוּ֙ H3318 מֵֽעָלָ֔יו H5921 כָּל H3605 And all that stood הָעֹֽמְדִ֖ים H5975 עָלָֽיו׃ H5921 20 And Ehud אֵה֔וּד H164 came בָּ֣א H935 אֵלָ֗יו H413 וְהֽוּא H1931 unto him and he was sitting יֹ֠שֵׁב H3427 parlour בַּֽעֲלִיַּ֨ת H5944 in a summer הַמְּקֵרָ֤ה H4747 אֲשֶׁר H834 לוֹ֙ H0 לְבַדּ֔וֹ H905 said וַיֹּ֣אמֶר H559 And Ehud אֵה֔וּד H164 I have a message דְּבַר H1697 from God אֱלֹהִ֥ים H430 לִ֖י H0 אֵלֶ֑יךָ H413 unto thee And he arose וַיָּ֖קָם H6965 מֵעַ֥ל H5921 out of his seat הַכִּסֵּֽא׃ H3678 21 put forth וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח H7971 And Ehud אֵהוּד֙ H164 אֶת H853 hand יַ֣ד H3027 his left שְׂמֹאל֔וֹ H8040 and took וַיִּקַּח֙ H3947 אֶת H853 the dagger הַחֶ֔רֶב H2719 מֵעַ֖ל H5921 thigh יֶ֣רֶךְ H3409 from his right יְמִינ֑וֹ H3225 and thrust וַיִּתְקָעֶ֖הָ H8628 it into his belly בְּבִטְנֽוֹ׃ H990 22 also went in וַיָּבֹ֨א H935 גַֽם H1571 And the haft הַנִּצָּ֜ב H5325 after אַחַ֣ר H310 the blade הַלַּ֔הַב H3851 closed וַיִּסְגֹּ֤ר H5462 and the fat הַחֵ֙לֶב֙ H2459 upon בְּעַ֣ד H1157 the blade הַלַּ֔הַב H3851 כִּ֣י H3588 לֹ֥א H3808 so that he could not draw שָׁלַ֛ף H8025 the dagger הַחֶ֖רֶב H2719 out of his belly מִבִּטְנ֑וֹ H990 came out וַיֵּצֵ֖א H3318 and the dirt הַֽפַּרְשְׁדֹֽנָה׃ H6574 23 went forth וַיֵּצֵ֥א H3318 Then Ehud אֵה֖וּד H164 through the porch הַֽמִּסְדְּר֑וֹנָה H4528 and shut וַיִּסְגֹּ֞ר H5462 the doors דַּלְת֧וֹת H1817 of the parlour הָֽעֲלִיָּ֛ה H5944 בַּֽעֲד֖וֹ H1157 upon him and locked וְנָעָֽל׃ H5274 24 וְה֤וּא H1931 When he was gone out יָצָא֙ H3318 his servants וַֽעֲבָדָ֣יו H5650 came בָּ֔אוּ H935 and when they saw וַיִּרְא֕וּ H7200 וְהִנֵּ֛ה H2009 that behold the doors דַּלְת֥וֹת H1817 of the parlour הָֽעֲלִיָּ֖ה H5944 were locked נְעֻל֑וֹת H5274 they said וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ H559 אַ֣ךְ H389 Surely he covereth מֵסִ֥יךְ H5526 ה֛וּא H1931 אֶת H853 his feet רַגְלָ֖יו H7272 chamber בַּֽחֲדַ֥ר H2315 in his summer הַמְּקֵרָֽה׃ H4747 25 And they tarried וַיָּחִ֣ילוּ H2342 עַד H5704 till they were ashamed בּ֔וֹשׁ H954 וְהִנֵּ֛ה H2009 אֵינֶ֥נּוּ H369 and behold he opened וַיִּפְתָּ֔חוּ H6605 not the doors דַּלְת֣וֹת H1817 of the parlour הָֽעֲלִיָּ֑ה H5944 therefore they took וַיִּקְח֤וּ H3947 אֶת H853 a key הַמַּפְתֵּ֙חַ֙ H4668 and behold he opened וַיִּפְתָּ֔חוּ H6605 וְהִנֵּה֙ H2009 them and behold their lord אֲדֹ֣נֵיהֶ֔ם H113 was fallen down נֹפֵ֥ל H5307 on the earth אַ֖רְצָה H776 dead מֵֽת׃ H4191 26 And Ehud וְאֵה֥וּד H164 and escaped וַיִּמָּלֵ֖ט H4422 עַ֣ד H5704 while they tarried הִֽתְמַהְמְהָ֑ם H4102 וְהוּא֙ H1931 and passed beyond עָבַ֣ר H5674 אֶת H853 the quarries הַפְּסִילִ֔ים H6456 and escaped וַיִּמָּלֵ֖ט H4422 unto Seirath הַשְּׂעִירָֽתָה׃ H8167 27 וַיְהִ֣י H1961 And it came to pass when he was come בְּבוֹא֔וֹ H935 that he blew וַיִּתְקַ֥ע H8628 a trumpet בַּשּׁוֹפָ֖ר H7782 in the mountain הָהָ֖ר H2022 of Ephraim אֶפְרָ֑יִם H669 went down וַיֵּֽרְד֨וּ H3381 עִמּ֧וֹ H5973 and the children בְנֵֽי H1121 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל H3478 מִן H4480 in the mountain הָהָ֖ר H2022 וְה֥וּא H1931 and he before לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃ H6440 28 And he said וַיֹּ֤אמֶר H559 אֲלֵהֶם֙ H413 unto them Follow רִדְפ֣וּ H7291 after אַֽחֲרָ֗יו H310 כִּֽי H3588 and suffered נָתְנ֥וּ H5414 me for the LORD יְהוָ֧ה H3068 אֶת H853 your enemies אֹֽיְבֵיכֶ֛ם H341 אֶת H853 the Moabites לְמוֹאָ֔ב H4124 into your hand בְּיֶדְכֶ֑ם H3027 And they went down וַיֵּֽרְד֣וּ H3381 after אַֽחֲרָ֗יו H310 him and took וַֽיִּלְכְּד֞וּ H3920 אֶֽת H853 the fords מַעְבְּר֤וֹת H4569 of Jordan הַיַּרְדֵּן֙ H3383 the Moabites לְמוֹאָ֔ב H4124 וְלֹֽא H3808 and suffered נָתְנ֥וּ H5414 not a man אִ֖ישׁ H376 to pass over לַֽעֲבֹֽר׃ H5674 29 And they slew וַיַּכּ֨וּ H5221 אֶת H853 of Moab מוֹאָ֜ב H4124 at that time בָּעֵ֣ת H6256 הַהִ֗יא H1931 about ten כַּֽעֲשֶׂ֤רֶת H6235 thousand אֲלָפִים֙ H505 and all men אִֽישׁ׃ H376 כָּל H3605 all lusty שָׁמֵ֖ן H8082 וְכָל H3605 and all men אִֽישׁ׃ H376 of valour חָ֑יִל H2428 וְלֹ֥א H3808 and there escaped נִמְלַ֖ט H4422 and all men אִֽישׁ׃ H376 30 was subdued וַתִּכָּנַ֤ע H3665 So Moab מוֹאָב֙ H4124 that day בַּיּ֣וֹם H3117 הַה֔וּא H1931 תַּ֖חַת H8478 under the hand יַ֣ד H3027 of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל H3478 had rest וַתִּשְׁקֹ֥ט H8252 And the land הָאָ֖רֶץ H776 fourscore שְׁמוֹנִ֥ים H8084 years שָׁנָֽה׃ H8141 31 And after וְאַֽחֲרָ֤יו H310 הָיָה֙ H1961 him was Shamgar שַׁמְגַּ֣ר H8044 the son בֶּן H1121 of Anath עֲנָ֔ת H6067 which slew וַיַּ֤ךְ H5221 אֶת H853 of the Philistines פְּלִשְׁתִּים֙ H6430 six שֵֽׁשׁ H8337 hundred מֵא֣וֹת H3967 men אִ֔ישׁ H376 goad בְּמַלְמַ֖ד H4451 with an ox
