H3808 should not come יָב֨וֹא H935 that the Ammonite עַמֹּנִ֧י H5984 and the Moabite וּמֹאָבִ֛י H4125 into the congregation בִּקְהַ֥ל H6951 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 for עַד H5704 ever עוֹלָֽם׃ H5769 2 the portions מְנָי֥וֹת H4521 of the Levites הַלְוִיִּ֥ם H3881 לֹ֣א H3808 had not been given נִתָּ֑נָה H5414 were fled וַיִּבְרְח֧וּ H1272 every one אִישׁ H376 to his field לְשָׂדֵ֛הוּ H7704 of the Levites הַלְוִיִּ֥ם H3881 and the singers וְהַמְשֹֽׁרְרִ֖ים H7891 that did עֹשֵׂ֥י H6213 the work הַמְּלָאכָֽה׃ H4399 11 Then contended וָֽאָרִ֙יבָה֙ H7378 אֶת H854 I with the rulers הַסְּגָנִ֔ים H5461 and said וָאֹ֣מְרָ֔ה H559 מַדּ֖וּעַ H4069 forsaken נֶֽעֱזַ֣ב H5800 Why is the house בֵּית H1004 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים H430 And I gathered them together וָֽאֶ֨קְבְּצֵ֔ם H6908 and set וָאַֽעֲמִדֵ֖ם וְהַתִּיר֥וֹשׁ H8492 and the oil וְהַיִּצְהָ֖ר H3323 unto the treasuries לָאֽוֹצָרֽוֹת׃ H214 13 And I made treasurers וָאֽוֹצְרָ֣ה H686 עַל H5921 over the treasuries אֽ֠וֹצָרוֹת H214 Shelemiah שֶֽׁלֶמְיָ֨ה H8018 the priest הַכֹּהֵ֜ן H3548 and Zadok וְצָד֣וֹק H6659 the scribe הַסּוֹפֵ֗ר H5608 Pedaiah וּפְדָיָה֙ H6305 מִן H4480 and of the Levites הַלְוִיִּ֔ם H3881 וְעַל H5921 and next to them יָדָ֔ם H3027 was Hanan חָנָ֥ן H2605 the son בֶּן H1121 of Zaccur זַכּ֖וּר H2139 the son בֶּן H1121 of Mattaniah מַתַּנְיָ֑ה H4983 כִּ֤י H3588 faithful נֶֽאֱמָנִים֙ H539 for they were counted נֶחְשָׁ֔בוּ H2803 וַֽעֲלֵיהֶ֖ם H5921 and their office was to distribute לַֽחֲלֹ֥ק H2505 unto their brethren לַֽאֲחֵיהֶֽם׃ H251 14 Remember זָכְרָה H2142 לִּ֥י H0 me O my God אֱלֹהַ֖י H430 עַל H5921 זֹ֑את H2063 וְאַל H408 concerning this and wipe not out תֶּ֣מַח H4229 my good חֲסָדַ֗י H2617 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 deeds that I have done עָשִׂ֛יתִי H6213 for the house בְּבֵ֥ית H1004 me O my God אֱלֹהַ֖י H430 and for the offices וּבְמִשְׁמָרָֽיו׃ H4929 15 In those days בְּי֖וֹם H3117 הָהֵ֡מָּה H1992 saw רָאִ֣יתִי H7200 I in Judah בִֽיהוּדָ֣ה׀ H3063 some treading דֹּֽרְכִֽים H1869 wine presses גִּתּ֣וֹת׀ H1660 on the sabbath הַשַּׁבָּ֑ת H7676 and bringing in וּמְבִיאִ֥ים H935 sheaves הָֽעֲרֵמ֣וֹת H6194 and lading וְֽעֹמְסִ֪ים H6006 עַל H5921 asses הַֽחֲמֹרִ֟ים H2543 וְאַף H637 as also wine יַ֜יִן H3196 grapes עֲנָבִ֤ים H6025 and figs וּתְאֵנִים֙ H8384 וְכָל H3605 and all manner of burdens מַשָּׂ֔א H4853 and bringing in וּמְבִיאִ֥ים H935 into Jerusalem יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֖ם H3389 In those days בְּי֖וֹם H3117 on the sabbath הַשַּׁבָּ֑ת H7676 and I testified וָֽאָעִ֕יד H5749 In those days בְּי֖וֹם H3117 wherein they sold מִכְרָ֥ם H4376 victuals צָֽיִד׃ H6718 16 men of Tyre וְהַצֹּרִים֙ H6876 There dwelt יָ֣שְׁבוּ H3427 בָ֔הּ H0 also therein which brought מְבִיאִ֥ים H935 fish דָּ֖אג H1709 וְכָל H3605 and all manner of ware מֶ֑כֶר H4377 and sold וּמֹכְרִ֧ים H4376 on the sabbath בַּשַּׁבָּ֛ת H7676 unto the children לִבְנֵ֥י H1121 of Judah יְהוּדָ֖ה H3063 and in Jerusalem וּבִירֽוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ H3389 17 Then I contended וָֽאָרִ֕יבָה H7378 אֵ֖ת H854 with the nobles חֹרֵ֣י H2715 of Judah יְהוּדָ֑ה H3063 and said וָאֹֽמְרָ֣ה H559 לָהֶ֗ם H0 מָֽה H4100 thing הַדָּבָ֨ר H1697 unto them What evil הָרָ֤ע H7451 הַזֶּה֙ H2088 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 אַתֶּ֣ם H859 is this that ye do עֹשִׂ֔ים H6213 and profane וּֽמְחַלְּלִ֖ים H2490 אֶת H853 day י֥וֹם H3117 the sabbath הַשַּׁבָּֽת׃ H7676 18 הֲל֨וֹא H3808 כֹ֤ה H3541 Did עָשׂוּ֙ H6213 not your fathers אֲבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם H1 bring וַיָּבֵ֨א H935 not our God אֱלֹהֵ֜ינוּ H430 עָלֵ֗ינוּ H5921 אֵ֚ת H853 כָּל H3605 all this evil הָֽרָעָ֣ה H7451 הַזֹּ֔את H2063 וְעַ֖ל H5921 upon us and upon this city הָעִ֣יר H5892 הַזֹּ֑את H2063 וְאַתֶּ֞ם H859 more מֽוֹסִיפִ֤ים H3254 wrath חָרוֹן֙ H2740 עַל H5921 upon Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל H3478 by profaning לְחַלֵּ֖ל H2490 אֶת H853 the sabbath הַשַּׁבָּֽת׃ H7676 19 וַיְהִ֡י H1961 כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 began to be dark צָֽלֲלוּ֩ H6751 And it came to pass that when the gates הַשְּׁעָרִ֔ים H8179 of Jerusalem יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֜ם H3389 before לִפְנֵ֣י H6440 on the sabbath הַשַּׁבָּֽת׃ H7676 I commanded וָאֹ֣מְרָ֔ה H559 should be shut וַיִּסָּֽגְר֣וּ H5462 that the gates הַדְּלָת֔וֹת H1817 I commanded וָאֹ֣מְרָ֔ה H559 אֲשֶׁר֙ H834 לֹ֣א H3808 that they should not be opened יִפְתָּח֔וּם H6605 עַ֖ד H5704 till after אַחַ֣ר H310 on the sabbath הַשַּׁבָּֽת׃ H7676 and some of my servants וּמִנְּעָרַ֗י H5288 set הֶֽעֱמַ֙דְתִּי֙ H5975 עַל H5921 And it came to pass that when the gates הַשְּׁעָרִ֔ים H8179 לֹֽא H3808 be brought in יָב֥וֹא H935 that there should no burden מַשָּׂ֖א H4853 day בְּי֥וֹם H3117 on the sabbath הַשַּׁבָּֽת׃ H7676 20 lodged וַיָּלִ֨ינוּ H3885 So the merchants הָרֹֽכְלִ֜ים H7402 and sellers וּמֹֽכְרֵ֧י H4376 כָל H3605 of all kind of ware מִמְכָּ֛ר H4465 without מִח֥וּץ H2351 Jerusalem לִירֽוּשָׁלִָ֖ם H3389 once פַּ֥עַם H6471 or twice וּשְׁתָּֽיִם׃ H8147 21 Then I testified וָֽאָעִ֣ידָה H5749 בָהֶ֗ם H0 against them and said וָאֹֽמְרָ֤ה H559 אֲלֵיהֶם֙ H413 מַדּ֜וּעַ H4069 אַתֶּ֤ם H859 unto them Why lodge לֵנִים֙ H3885 ye about נֶ֣גֶד H5048 the wall הַֽחוֹמָ֔ה H2346 אִם H518 if ye do so again תִּשְׁנ֕וּ H8138 hands יָ֖ד H3027 I will lay אֶשְׁלַ֣ח H7971 בָּכֶ֑ם H0 מִן H4480 on you From that time הָעֵ֣ת H6256 הַהִ֔יא H1931 לֹא H3808 forth came בָ֖אוּ H935 they no more on the sabbath בַּשַּׁבָּֽת׃ H7676 22 And I commanded וָאֹֽמְרָ֣ה H559 the Levites לַלְוִיִּ֗ם H3881 אֲשֶׁ֨ר H834 יִֽהְי֤וּ H1961 that they should cleanse מִֽטַּהֲרִים֙ H2891 themselves and that they should come וּבָאִים֙ H935 and keep שֹֽׁמְרִ֣ים H8104 the gates הַשְּׁעָרִ֔ים H8179 to sanctify לְקַדֵּ֖שׁ H6942 אֶת H853 day י֣וֹם H3117 the sabbath הַשַּׁבָּ֑ת H7676 גַּם H1571 זֹאת֙ H2063 Remember זָכְרָה H2142 לִּ֣י H0 me O my God אֱלֹהַ֔י H430 concerning this also and spare וְח֥וּסָה H2347 עָלַ֖י H5921 me according to the greatness כְּרֹ֥ב H7230 of thy mercy חַסְדֶּֽךָ׃ H2617 23 גַּ֣ם׀ H1571 In those days בַּיָּמִ֣ים H3117 הָהֵ֗ם H1992 also saw רָאִ֤יתִי H7200 אֶת H853 I Jews הַיְּהוּדִים֙ H3064 that had married הֹשִׁ֗יבוּ H3427 wives נָשִׁים֙ H802 of Ashdod אַשְׁדֳּודִיּ֔וֹת H796 of Ammon עַמֳּונִיּ֖וֹת H5984 and of Moab מֽוֹאֲבִיּֽוֹת׃ H4125 24 And their children וּבְנֵיהֶ֗ם H1121 half חֲצִי֙ H2677 not speak לְדַבֵּ֣ר H1696 in the speech of Ashdod אַשְׁדּוֹדִ֔ית H797 וְאֵינָ֥ם H369 and could מַכִּירִ֖ים H5234 not speak לְדַבֵּ֣ר H1696 in the Jews' language יְהוּדִ֑ית H3066 but according to the language וְכִלְשׁ֖וֹן H3956 of each people וָעָֽם׃ H5971 of each people וָעָֽם׃ H5971 25 And I contended וָֽאָרִ֤יב H7378 עִמָּם֙ H5973 with them and cursed וָאֲקַֽלְלֵ֔ם H7043 them and smote וָֽאַכֶּ֥ה H5221 מֵהֶ֛ם H1992 אֲנָשִׁ֖ים H376 of them and plucked off their hair וָֽאֶמְרְטֵ֑ם H4803 and made לְהֹשִׁ֖יב H3427 wives נָשִׁ֥ים H802 strange נָכְרִיּֽוֹת׃ H5237 28 And one of the sons בֶּן H1121 of Joiada יֽוֹיָדָ֤ע H3111 And one of the sons בֶּן H1121 of Eliashib אֶלְיָשִׁיב֙ H475 priest הַכֹּהֵ֣ן H3548 the high הַגָּד֔וֹל H1419 was son in law חָתָ֖ן H2860 to Sanballat לְסַנְבַלַּ֣ט H5571 the Horonite הַחֹֽרֹנִ֑י H2772 therefore I chased וָֽאַבְרִיחֵ֖הוּ H1272 מֵֽעָלָֽי׃ H5921 29 Remember זָכְרָ֥ה H2142 לָהֶ֖ם H1992 them O my God אֱלֹהָ֑י H430 עַ֚ל H5921 because they have defiled גָּֽאֳלֵ֣י H1352 of the priesthood הַכְּהֻנָּ֖ה H3550 and the covenant וּבְרִ֥ית H1285 of the priesthood הַכְּהֻנָּ֖ה H3550 and of the Levites וְהַלְוִיִּֽם׃ H3881 30 Thus cleansed וְטִֽהַרְתִּ֖ים H2891 מִכָּל H3605 I them from all strangers נֵכָ֑ר H5236 and appointed וָאַֽעֲמִ֧ידָה H5975 the wards מִשְׁמָר֛וֹת H4931 of the priests לַכֹּֽהֲנִ֥ים H3548 and the Levites וְלַלְוִיִּ֖ם H3881 every one אִ֥ישׁ H376 in his business בִּמְלַאכְתּֽוֹ׃ H4399 31 offering וּלְקֻרְבַּ֧ן H7133 And for the wood הָעֵצִ֛ים H6086 at times בְּעִתִּ֥ים H6256 appointed מְזֻמָּנ֖וֹת H2163 and for the firstfruits וְלַבִּכּוּרִ֑ים H1061 Remember זָכְרָה H2142 לִּ֥י H0 me O my God אֱלֹהַ֖י H430 for good
