when Sanballat לְסַנְבַלַּ֣ט H5571 and Tobiah וְ֠טֽוֹבִיָּה H2900 and Geshem וּלְגֶ֨שֶׁם H1654 the Arabian הָֽעַרְבִ֜י H6163 and the rest וּלְיֶ֣תֶר H3499 of our enemies אֹֽיְבֵ֗ינוּ H341 כִּ֤י H3588 that I had builded בָנִ֙יתִי֙ H1129 אֶת H853 the wall הַ֣חוֹמָ֔ה H2346 וְלֹא H3808 left נ֥וֹתַר H3498 בָּ֖הּ H0 and that there was no breach פָּ֑רֶץ H6556 therein (though גַּ֚ם H1571 עַד H5704 at that H5921 messengers מַלְאָכִים֙ H4397 unto them saying לֵאמֹ֔ר H559 why should the work הַמְּלָאכָה֙ H4399 a great גְדוֹלָה֙ H1419 אֲנִ֣י H589 I am doing עֹשֶׂ֔ה H6213 וְלֹ֥א H3808 so that I cannot אוּכַ֖ל H3201 come down וְיָֽרַדְתִּ֖י H3381 לָ֣מָּה H4100 cease תִשְׁבַּ֤ת H7673 why should the work הַמְּלָאכָה֙ H4399 whilst כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 I leave אַרְפֶּ֔הָ H7503 come down וְיָֽרַדְתִּ֖י H3381 אֲלֵיכֶֽם׃ H413 4 Yet they sent וַיִּשְׁלְח֥וּ H7971 אֵלַ֛י H413 after this sort כַּדָּבָ֥ר H1697 הַזֶּ֖ה H2088 unto me four אַרְבַּ֣ע H702 times פְּעָמִ֑ים H6471 and I answered וָֽאָשִׁ֥יב H7725 אוֹתָ֖ם H853 after this sort כַּדָּבָ֥ר H1697 הַזֶּֽה׃ H2088 5 Then sent וַיִּשְׁלַח֩ H7971 אֵלַ֨י H413 Sanballat סַנְבַלַּ֜ט H5571 unto me in like manner כַּדָּבָ֥ר H1697 הַזֶּ֛ה H2088 time פַּ֥עַם H6471 the fifth חֲמִישִׁ֖ית H2549 אֶֽת H853 his servant נַעֲר֑וֹ H5288 letter וְאִגֶּ֥רֶת H107 with an open פְּתוּחָ֖ה H6605 in his hand בְּיָדֽוֹ׃ H3027 6 Wherein was written כָּת֣וּב H3789 בָּ֗הּ H0 among the heathen בַּגּוֹיִ֤ם H1471 It is reported נִשְׁמָע֙ H8085 and Gashmu וְגַשְׁמ֣וּ H1654 saith אֹמֵ֔ר H559 אַתָּ֤ה H859 it that thou and the Jews וְהַיְּהוּדִים֙ H3064 think חֹֽשְׁבִ֣ים H2803 to rebel לִמְר֔וֹד H4775 עַל H5921 for which cause כֵּ֛ן H3651 אַתָּ֥ה H859 thou buildest בוֹנֶ֖ה H1129 the wall הַֽחוֹמָ֑ה H2346 וְאַתָּ֗ה H859 that thou mayest be הוֶֹ֤ה H1933 לָהֶם֙ H0 their king לְמֶ֔לֶךְ H4428 according to these words כַּדְּבָרִ֖ים H1697 הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ H428 7 וְגַם H1571 prophets נְבִיאִ֡ים H5030 And thou hast also appointed הֶֽעֱמַ֣דְתָּ H5975 to preach לִקְרֹא֩ H7121 עָלֶ֨יךָ H5921 of thee at Jerusalem בִֽירוּשָׁלִַ֜ם H3389 saying לֵאמֹ֗ר H559 There is a king לַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 in Judah בִּֽיהוּדָ֔ה H3063 וְעַתָּה֙ H6258 and now shall it be reported יִשָּׁמַ֣ע H8085 There is a king לַמֶּ֔לֶךְ H4428 according to these words כַּדְּבָרִ֣ים H1697 הָאֵ֑לֶּה H428 וְעַתָּ֣ה H6258 לְכָ֔ה H1980 now therefore and let us take counsel וְנִֽוָּעֲצָ֖ה H3289 together יַחְדָּֽו׃ H3162 8 Then I sent וָֽאֶשְׁלְחָ֤ה H7971 אֵלָיו֙ H413 as thou sayest אוֹמֵ֑ר H559 לֹ֤א H3808 There are נִֽהְיָה֙ H1961 no such things כַּדְּבָרִ֣ים H1697 הָאֵ֔לֶּה H428 אֲשֶׁ֖ר H834 אַתָּ֣ה H859 as thou sayest אוֹמֵ֑ר H559 כִּ֥י H3588 them out of thine own heart מִֽלִּבְּךָ֖ H3820 אַתָּ֥ה H859 but thou feignest בוֹדָֽאם׃ H908 9 כִּ֣י H3588 כֻלָּ֗ם H3605 For they all made us afraid מְיָֽרְאִ֤ים H3372 בֶּן H1121 of Delaiah דְּלָיָ֛ה H1806 the son בֶּן H1121 of Mehetabeel מְהֵֽיטַבְאֵ֖ל H4105 וְה֣וּא H1931 who was shut up עָצ֑וּר H6113 and he said וַיֹּ֡אמֶר H559 Let us meet together נִוָּעֵד֩ H3259 אֶל H413 in the house בֵּ֨ית H1004 of God הָֽאֱלֹהִ֜ים H430 אֶל H413 within תּ֣וֹךְ H8432 of the temple הַֽהֵיכָ֔ל H1964 and let us shut וְנִסְגְּרָה֙ H5462 the doors דַּלְת֣וֹת H1817 of the temple הַֽהֵיכָ֔ל H1964 כִּ֚י H3588 Afterward I came בָּאִ֥ים H935 to slay לְהָרְגֶֽךָ׃ H2026 thee yea in the night וְלַ֖יְלָה H3915 Afterward I came בָּאִ֥ים H935 to slay לְהָרְגֶֽךָ׃ H2026 11 And I said וָאֹֽמְרָ֗ה H559 a man הַאִ֤ישׁ H376 Should such כָמ֛וֹנִי H3644 as I flee יִבְרָ֔ח H1272 וּמִ֥י H4310 Should such כָמ֛וֹנִי H3644 אֲשֶׁר H834 I will not go in אָבֽוֹא׃ H935 אֶל H413 into the temple הַֽהֵיכָ֖ל H1964 to save his life וָחָ֑י H2425 לֹ֖א H3808 I will not go in אָבֽוֹא׃ H935 12 And lo I perceived וָֽאַכִּ֕ירָה H5234 וְהִנֵּ֥ה H2009 לֹֽא H3808 that God אֱלֹהִ֖ים H430 had not sent שְׁלָח֑וֹ H7971 כִּ֤י H3588 this prophecy הַנְּבוּאָה֙ H5016 him but that he pronounced דִּבֶּ֣ר H1696 עָלַ֔י H5921 against me for Tobiah וְטֽוֹבִיָּ֥ה H2900 and Sanballat וְסַנְבַלַּ֖ט H5571 had hired שְׂכָרֽוֹ׃ H7936 13 לְמַ֤עַן H4616 Therefore was he hired שָׂכוּר֙ H7936 ה֔וּא H1931 לְמַֽעַן H4616 that I should be afraid אִירָ֥א H3372 and do so וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה H6213 כֵּ֖ן H3651 and sin וְחָטָ֑אתִי H2398 וְהָיָ֤ה H1961 לָהֶם֙ H1992 report לְשֵׁ֣ם H8034 and that they might have matter for an evil רָ֔ע H7451 לְמַ֖עַן H4616 that they might reproach יְחָֽרְפֽוּנִי׃ H2778 14 think זָכְרָ֧ה H2142 My God אֱלֹהַ֛י H430 thou upon Tobiah לְטֽוֹבִיָּ֥ה H2900 and Sanballat וּלְסַנְבַלַּ֖ט H5571 according to these their works כְּמַֽעֲשָׂ֣יו H4639 אֵ֑לֶּה H428 וְגַ֨ם H1571 Noadiah לְנֽוֹעַדְיָ֤ה H5129 and on the prophetess הַנְּבִיאָה֙ H5031 and the rest וּלְיֶ֣תֶר H3499 of the prophets הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים H5030 אֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 הָי֖וּ H1961 that would have put me in fear מְיָֽרְאִ֥ים H3372 אוֹתִֽי׃ H853 15 was finished וַתִּשְׁלַם֙ H7999 So the wall הַֽחוֹמָ֔ה H2346 in the twenty בְּעֶשְׂרִ֥ים H6242 and fifth וַֽחֲמִשָּׁ֖ה H2568 day of the month Elul לֶֽאֱל֑וּל H435 in fifty לַֽחֲמִשִּׁ֥ים H2572 and two וּשְׁנַ֖יִם H8147 days יֽוֹם׃ H3117 16 וַיְהִ֗י H1961 כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 heard שָֽׁמְעוּ֙ H8085 כָּל H3605 And it came to pass that when all our enemies א֣וֹיְבֵ֔ינוּ H341 saw וַיִּֽרְא֗וּ H7200 כָּל H3605 thereof and all the heathen הַגּוֹיִם֙ H1471 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 that were about us סְבִֽיבֹתֵ֔ינוּ H5439 cast down וַיִּפְּל֥וּ H5307 these things they were much מְאֹ֖ד H3966 in their own eyes בְּעֵֽינֵיהֶ֑ם H5869 for they perceived וַיֵּ֣דְע֔וּ H3045 כִּ֚י H3588 מֵאֵ֣ת H854 of our God אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ H430 was wrought נֶֽעֶשְׂתָ֖ה H6213 that this work הַמְּלָאכָ֥ה H4399 הַזֹּֽאת׃ H2063 17 גַּ֣ם׀ H1571 Moreover in those days בַּיָּמִ֣ים H3117 הָהֵ֗ם H1992 many מַרְבִּ֞ים H7235 the nobles חֹרֵ֤י H2715 of Judah יְהוּדָה֙ H3063 letters אִגְּרֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם H107 sent הֽוֹלְכ֖וֹת H1980 עַל H5921 and the letters of Tobiah לְטֽוֹבִיָּ֖ה H2900 וַֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר H834 and the letters of Tobiah לְטֽוֹבִיָּ֖ה H2900 came בָּא֥וֹת H935 אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ H413 18 כִּֽי H3588 For there were many רַבִּ֣ים H7227 in Judah בִּֽיהוּדָ֗ה H3063 sworn בַּֽעֲלֵ֤י H1167 שְׁבוּעָה֙ H7621 ל֔וֹ H0 כִּֽי H3588 unto him because he was the son in law חָתָ֥ן H2860 ה֖וּא H1931 of Shechaniah לִשְׁכַנְיָ֣ה H7935 and his son בֶּ֥ן H1121 of Arah אָרַ֑ח H733 Johanan וִֽיהוֹחָנָ֣ן H3076 and his son בֶּ֥ן H1121 had taken לָקַ֕ח H3947 אֶת H853 the daughter בַּת H1323 of Meshullam מְשֻׁלָּ֖ם H4918 and his son בֶּ֥ן H1121 of Berechiah בֶּֽרֶכְיָֽה׃ H1296 19 גַּ֣ם H1571 his good deeds טֽוֹבֹתָ֗יו H2896 הָי֤וּ H1961 Also they reported אֹֽמְרִים֙ H559 before לְפָנַ֔י H6440 my words וּדְבָרַ֕י H1697 הָי֥וּ H1961 me and uttered מֽוֹצִיאִ֖ים H3318 ל֑וֹ H0 letters אִגְּר֛וֹת H107 sent שָׁלַ֥ח H7971 to him And Tobiah טֽוֹבִיָּ֖ה H2900 to put me in fear לְיָֽרְאֵֽנִי׃ H3372 [Nehemiah
