אֵ֥שׁ H784 in their company בַּעֲדָתָ֑ם H5712 the flame לֶ֝הָבָ֗ה H3852 burned up תְּלַהֵ֥ט H3857 the wicked רְשָׁעִֽים׃ H7563 19 They made יַעֲשׂוּ H6213 a calf עֵ֥גֶל H5695 in Horeb בְּחֹרֵ֑ב H2722 and worshipped וַ֝יִּשְׁתַּחֲו֗וּ H7812 the molten image לְמַסֵּכָֽה׃ H4541 20 Thus they changed וַיָּמִ֥ירוּ H4171 אֶת H853 their glory כְּבוֹדָ֑ם H3519 into the similitude בְּתַבְנִ֥ית H8403 of an ox שׁ֝֗וֹר H7794 that eateth אֹכֵ֥ל H398 grass עֵֽשֶׂב׃ H6212 21 They forgat שָׁ֭כְחוּ H7911 God אֵ֣ל H410 their saviour מוֹשִׁיעָ֑ם H3467 which had done עֹשֶׂ֖ה H6213 great things גְדֹל֣וֹת H1419 in Egypt בְּמִצְרָֽיִם׃ H4714 22 Wondrous works נִ֭פְלָאוֹת H6381 in the land בְּאֶ֣רֶץ H776 of Ham חָ֑ם H2526 and terrible things נ֝וֹרָא֗וֹת H3372 עַל H5921 sea יַם H3220 by the Red סֽוּף׃ H5488 23 Therefore he said וַיֹּ֗אמֶר H559 that he would destroy לְֽהַשְׁמִ֫ידָ֥ם H8045 them had not לוּלֵ֡י H3884 Moses מֹ֘שֶׁ֤ה H4872 his chosen בְחִיר֗וֹ H972 stood עָמַ֣ד H5975 him in the breach בַּפֶּ֣רֶץ H6556 before לְפָנָ֑יו H6440 to turn away לְהָשִׁ֥יב H7725 his wrath חֲ֝מָת֗וֹ H2534 lest he should destroy מֵֽהַשְׁחִֽית׃ H7843 24 Yea they despised וַֽ֭יִּמְאֲסוּ H3988 land בְּאֶ֣רֶץ H776 the pleasant חֶמְדָּ֑ה H2532 לֹֽא H3808 they believed הֶ֝אֱמִ֗ינוּ H539 not his word לִדְבָרֽוֹ׃ H1697 25 But murmured וַיֵּרָגְנ֥וּ H7279 in their tents בְאָהֳלֵיהֶ֑ם H168 לֹ֥א H3808 and hearkened שָׁ֝מְע֗וּ H8085 not unto the voice בְּק֣וֹל H6963 of the LORD יְהוָֽה׃ H3068 26 Therefore he lifted up וַיִּשָּׂ֣א H5375 his hand יָד֣וֹ H3027 לָהֶ֑ם H1992 against them to overthrow לְהַפִּ֥יל H5307 א֝וֹתָ֗ם H853 them in the wilderness בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ H4057 27 To overthrow וּלְהַפִּ֣יל H5307 their seed זַ֭רְעָם H2233 also among the nations בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם H1471 and to scatter וּ֝לְזָרוֹתָ֗ם H2219 them in the lands בָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ H776 28 They joined וַ֭יִּצָּ֣מְדוּ H6775 לְבַ֣עַל H0 themselves also unto Baalpeor פְּע֑וֹר H1187 and ate וַ֝יֹּאכְל֗וּ H398 the sacrifices זִבְחֵ֥י H2077 of the dead מֵתִֽים׃ H4191 29 Thus they provoked him to anger וַ֭יַּכְעִיסוּ H3707 with their inventions בְּמַֽעַלְלֵיהֶ֑ם H4611 brake in וַתִּפְרָץ H6555 בָּ֝֗ם H0 and the plague מַגֵּפָֽה׃ H4046 30 Then stood up וַיַּעֲמֹ֣ד H5975 Phinehas פִּֽ֭ינְחָס H6372 and executed judgment וַיְפַלֵּ֑ל H6419 was stayed וַ֝תֵּעָצַ֗ר H6113 and so the plague הַמַּגֵּפָֽה׃ H4046 31 And that was counted וַתֵּחָ֣שֶׁב H2803 ל֭וֹ H0 unto him for righteousness לִצְדָקָ֑ה H6666 generations וָ֝דֹ֗ר H1755 generations וָ֝דֹ֗ר H1755 for עַד H5704 evermore עוֹלָֽם׃ H5769 32 They angered וַ֭יַּקְצִיפוּ H7107 עַל H5921 him also at the waters מֵ֥י H4325 of strife מְרִיבָ֑ה H4808 so that it went ill וַיֵּ֥רַע H3415 with Moses לְ֝מֹשֶׁ֗ה H4872 בַּעֲבוּרָֽם׃ H5668 33 כִּֽי H3588 Because they provoked הִמְר֥וּ H4784 אֶת H853 his spirit רוּח֑וֹ H7307 so that he spake unadvisedly וַ֝יְבַטֵּ֗א H981 with his lips בִּשְׂפָתָֽיו׃ H8193 34 לֹֽא H3808 They did not destroy הִ֭שְׁמִידוּ H8045 אֶת H853 the nations הָֽעַמִּ֑ים H5971 אֲשֶׁ֤ר H834 commanded אָמַ֖ר H559 concerning whom the LORD יְהוָ֣ה H3068 לָהֶֽם׃ H1992 35 But were mingled וַיִּתְעָרְב֥וּ H6148 among the heathen בַגּוֹיִ֑ם H1471 and learned וַֽ֝יִּלְמְד֗וּ H3925 their works מַֽעֲשֵׂיהֶֽם׃ H4639 36 And they served וַיַּעַבְד֥וּ H5647 אֶת H853 their idols עֲצַבֵּיהֶ֑ם H6091 וַיִּהְי֖וּ H1961 לָהֶ֣ם H1992 which were a snare לְמוֹקֵֽשׁ׃ H4170 37 Yea they sacrificed וַיִּזְבְּח֣וּ H2076 אֶת H853 their sons בְּ֭נֵיהֶם H1121 וְאֶת H853 and their daughters בְּנֽוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם H1323 unto devils לַשֵּֽׁדִים׃ H7700 38 And shed וַיִּֽשְׁפְּכ֨וּ H8210 blood בַּדָּמִֽים׃ H1818 innocent נָקִ֡י H5355 blood בַּדָּמִֽים׃ H1818 of their sons בְּנֵ֘יהֶ֤ם H1121 and of their daughters וּֽבְנוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם H1323 אֲשֶׁ֣ר H834 whom they sacrificed זִ֭בְּחוּ H2076 unto the idols לַעֲצַבֵּ֣י H6091 of Canaan כְנָ֑עַן H3667 was polluted וַתֶּחֱנַ֥ף H2610 and the land הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ H776 blood בַּדָּמִֽים׃ H1818 39 Thus were they defiled וַיִּטְמְא֥וּ H2930 with their own works בְמַעֲשֵׂיהֶ֑ם H4639 and went a whoring וַ֝יִּזְ֗נוּ H2181 with their own inventions בְּמַֽעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃ H4611 40 kindled וַיִּֽחַר H2734 Therefore was the wrath אַ֣ף H639 of the LORD יְהוָ֣ה H3068 against his people בְּעַמּ֑וֹ H5971 insomuch that he abhorred וַ֝יְתָעֵ֗ב H8581 אֶת H853 his own inheritance נַחֲלָתֽוֹ׃ H5159 41 And he gave וַיִּתְּנֵ֥ם H5414 them into the hand בְּיַד H3027 of the heathen גּוֹיִ֑ם H1471 them ruled וַֽיִּמְשְׁל֥וּ H4910 בָ֝הֶ֗ם H0 and they that hated שֹׂנְאֵיהֶֽם׃ H8130 42 also oppressed וַיִּלְחָצ֥וּם H3905 Their enemies אוֹיְבֵיהֶ֑ם H341 them and they were brought into subjection וַ֝יִּכָּנְע֗וּ H3665 תַּ֣חַת H8478 under their hand יָדָֽם׃ H3027 43 times פְּעָמִ֥ים H6471 Many רַבּ֗וֹת H7227 did he deliver יַצִּ֫ילֵ֥ם H5337 וְ֭הֵמָּה H1992 them but they provoked יַמְר֣וּ H4784 him with their counsel בַעֲצָתָ֑ם H6098 and were brought low וַ֝יָּמֹ֗כּוּ H4355 for their iniquity בַּעֲוֺנָֽם׃ H5771 44 Nevertheless he regarded וַ֭יַּרְא H7200 their affliction בַּצַּ֣ר H6862 לָהֶ֑ם H1992 when he heard בְּ֝שָׁמְע֗וֹ H8085 אֶת H853 their cry רִנָּתָֽם׃ H7440 45 And he remembered וַיִּזְכֹּ֣ר H2142 לָהֶ֣ם H1992 for them his covenant בְּרִית֑וֹ H1285 and repented וַ֝יִּנָּחֵ֗ם H5162 according to the multitude כְּרֹ֣ב H7230 of his mercies חֲסָדָֽו׃ H2617 46 He made וַיִּתֵּ֣ן H5414 אוֹתָ֣ם H853 them also to be pitied לְרַחֲמִ֑ים H7356 of לִ֝פְנֵ֗י H6440 כָּל H3605 all those that carried them captives שׁוֹבֵיהֶֽם׃ H7617 47 Save הוֹשִׁיעֵ֨נוּ׀ H3467 us O LORD יְה֘וָ֤ה H3068 our God אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ H430 and gather וְקַבְּצֵנוּ֮ H6908 מִֽן H4480 us from among the heathen הַגּ֫וֹיִ֥ם H1471 to give thanks לְ֭הֹדוֹת H3034 name לְשֵׁ֣ם H8034 unto thy holy קָדְשֶׁ֑ךָ H6944 and to triumph לְ֝הִשְׁתַּבֵּ֗חַ H7623 in thy praise בִּתְהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃ H8416 48
