Revelation 10:3-4 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
After hearing the utterings, John was told to shut what these thunders said up. A similar instruction about the end times is given to Daniel in the book of Daniel.
Daniel 12:4,8-9 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
This lets us know that the things that were revealed to them are not to be revealed until the actual time of the end. This may also include those things that may not be already revealed in Scripture already. The reason for this is because God wants us focused on Him and to grow spiritually rather than become obsessed with prophecy and seeking knowledge about the evil that will happen during the end times (who is the Antichrist, UFOs etc).
This is supported by 1 Corinthians 13, where God deems it more profitable to exercise charity (love) and grow spiritually than to have all the knowledge of future times.
1 Corinthians 13:2,5,8-9 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
‘And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge;‘
Mysteries is referred to as prophecies.
‘Doth not behave itself unseemly,‘
The people obsessed with aliens etc do not seem normal.
‘whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.‘
We all want to know more, but it’s burdening the people in the church. It’s hindering charity. It seems that we love knowledge more than people.
‘For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.‘
All of us prophesy in part. No matter how much we think we know about a deep conspiracy, we will never know all of it.
Going back to the main text, we will now take a look at the deeper meaning of Revelation 10 thus far. An angel comes down from heaven and tells John not to write the utterings of the seven thunders. This angel, as we have discussed in previous commentaries, is likened to Jesus and just as He reveals Himself (in Israel) in Revelation 10, He also does this in Revelation 1 where it alludes to Jesus’ second coming.
This prompts the question of how the entire nation of Israel will be saved/ resistant to the Antichrist which is mentioned in Romans 11.
Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
Matthew 24 sheds light on how the mass conversion will possibly occur, which talks about how the tribes of Israel will mourn when Jesus comes down. This alludes to the idea that the Jews will recognize Jesus as their Messiah after rejecting him for so long. Jews require a sign.
Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Zechariah 12 also supports this theory.
Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
Another thing to consider is that prior to the 2nd Advent, a Tribulation rapture will occur for those in the Tribulation. The appearance of Jesus in Revelation 10 may coincide with the Tribulation rapture. Another noteworthy detail found in Revelation 10:1 is that a “mighty” angel (that could be Jesus) comes down and is more powerful than the strong angel who could not open the book mentioned in Revelation 5. Comparing this to Isaiah 9, we see that God and this angel are described in a similar fashion (mighty) which may reveal that these two beings are similar in might (as God and Jesus are).
Jehovah Witnesses try to say that Jesus Christ is not God because Jehovah is Almighty so if the angel is mighty, it is not God. But that’s not true. The Bible mentions God repeatedly with the word ‘mighty’.
To sum it up, a couple of reasons how the mass conversion of Romans 11 will come to pass are the following:
- The appearance of Jesus unto the Jews (face to face)
- 2 Witnesses (Moses and Elijah) at Revelation 11 will convince them because they are prominent figures in their Torah.
- Judaism will disagree with the Antichrist system and the idol that will be set up for worship because God has no image in Judaism. Notice that the Antichrist does the “desolation of the abomination.”
The Antichrist will come and say “I’m a Jew just like you” but later, he will betray the Jews. Satan worshippers will also get deceived because Satan never keeps his promises.
