[2 ](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/2) Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.* [3 ](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/3) And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto his place, which he had prepared for it. [4 ](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/4) And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites: [5 ](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/5) Of the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:* [6 ](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/6) Of the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty: [7 ](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/7) Of the sons of Gershom; Joel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and thirty: [8 ](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/8) Of the sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred: [9 ](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/9) Of the sons of Hebron; Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore: [10 ](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/10) Of the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twelve. [13 ](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/13) For because ye *did it* not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order. [14 ](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/14) So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel. [15 ](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/15) And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD. [16 ](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/16) And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren *to be* the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy. [17 ](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/17) So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah; [1 Chronicles 14](/kjv/1-chronicles/14) [1 Chronicles 16](/kjv/1-chronicles/16) ```json {"@context":"https://schema.org","@graph":[{"@type":"WebSite","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#website","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com","name":"Real Bible Believers","description":"RBB","publisher":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#/schema/person/e966585dde703268e7f6ae890ea98509"},"potentialAction":[{"@type":"SearchAction","target":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/search?q={search_term_string}","query-input":"required name=search_term_string"}],"inLanguage":"en-US"},{"@type":"ImageObject","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv/1-chronicles/15/2-14#primaryimage","inLanguage":"en-US","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/_app/immutable/assets/missing.C7wGMEZ6.jpg","contentUrl":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/_app/immutable/assets/missing.C7wGMEZ6.jpg","width":672,"height":448,"caption":"Real Bible Believers"},{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv/1-chronicles/15/2-14#webpage","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv/1-chronicles/15/2-14","name":"1 Chronicles 15:2-14 KJV - \"Then David said, None ought to carry t...\" | Real Bible Believers","isPartOf":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#website"},"primaryImageOfPage":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv/1-chronicles/15/2-14#primaryimage"},"author":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#/schema/person/e966585dde703268e7f6ae890ea98509"},"description":"\"Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to\" — Read 1 Chronicles 15:2-14 in the King James Version (KJV) with commentary, cross references, and Greek/Hebrew lexicon.","breadcrumb":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv/1-chronicles/15/2-14#breadcrumb"},"inLanguage":"en-US","potentialAction":[{"@type":"ReadAction","target":["https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv/1-chronicles/15/2-14"]}]},{"@type":"BreadcrumbList","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv/1-chronicles/15/2-14#breadcrumb","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"item":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/","name":"Home"}},{"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"item":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv","name":"KJV Bible"}},{"@type":"ListItem","position":3,"item":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv/1-chronicles","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv/1-chronicles","name":"1 Chronicles"}},{"@type":"ListItem","position":4,"item":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv/1-chronicles/15","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv/1-chronicles/15","name":"15"}},{"@type":"ListItem","position":5,"item":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv/1-chronicles/15/2-14","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/kjv/1-chronicles/15/2-14","name":"Verse 2-14"}}]},{"@type":["Person","Organization"],"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#/schema/person/e966585dde703268e7f6ae890ea98509","image":{"@type":"ImageObject","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#personlogo","inLanguage":"en-US","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/android-chrome-512x512.png","contentUrl":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/android-chrome-512x512.png","width":512,"height":512},"logo":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#personlogo"},"sameAs":["https://twitter.com/RBiblebeliever","https://www.facebook.com/RBibleBelievers"]}]} ```
