And the four *and* twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever. [Revelation 4](/study/revelation/4) [Revelation 6](/study/revelation/6) ## Commentary To verse 1 **A book** ; a scroll, written on both sides to denote the fulness of its contents, rolled up and sealed with seven seals. Compare [Ezekiel 2:9-10](/kjv/ezekiel/2/9-10) . The successive opening of the seals represents the gradual unfolding of the counsels of God in the history of this world. This represented the purposes of God with regard to events which were future, and which no one could know except God, and those to whom he should reveal them. ```json {"@context":"https://schema.org","@graph":[{"@type":"WebSite","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#website","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com","name":"Real Bible Believers","description":"RBB","publisher":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#/schema/person/e966585dde703268e7f6ae890ea98509"},"potentialAction":[{"@type":"SearchAction","target":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/search?q={search_term_string}","query-input":"required name=search_term_string"}],"inLanguage":"en-US"},{"@type":"ImageObject","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/edwards-family-bible-new-testament/revelation/5#primaryimage","inLanguage":"en-US","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/_app/immutable/assets/missing.C7wGMEZ6.jpg","contentUrl":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/_app/immutable/assets/missing.C7wGMEZ6.jpg","width":672,"height":448,"caption":"Real Bible Believers"},{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/edwards-family-bible-new-testament/revelation/5#webpage","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/edwards-family-bible-new-testament/revelation/5","name":"Revelation 5 - Study King James Bible with edwards family bible new testament","isPartOf":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#website"},"primaryImageOfPage":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/edwards-family-bible-new-testament/revelation/5#primaryimage"},"author":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#/schema/person/e966585dde703268e7f6ae890ea98509"},"description":"Read Revelation 5 with edwards family bible new testament commentary. 1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel","breadcrumb":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/edwards-family-bible-new-testament/revelation/5#breadcrumb"},"inLanguage":"en-US","potentialAction":[{"@type":"ReadAction","target":["https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/edwards-family-bible-new-testament/revelation/5"]}]},{"@type":"BreadcrumbList","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/edwards-family-bible-new-testament/revelation/5#breadcrumb","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"item":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/","name":"Home"}},{"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"item":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study","name":"Study Bible"}},{"@type":"ListItem","position":3,"item":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/edwards-family-bible-new-testament","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/edwards-family-bible-new-testament","name":"edwards family bible new testament"}},{"@type":"ListItem","position":4,"item":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/edwards-family-bible-new-testament/revelation","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/edwards-family-bible-new-testament/revelation","name":"Revelation"}},{"@type":"ListItem","position":5,"item":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/edwards-family-bible-new-testament/revelation/5","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/edwards-family-bible-new-testament/revelation/5","name":"5"}}]},{"@type":["Person","Organization"],"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#/schema/person/e966585dde703268e7f6ae890ea98509","image":{"@type":"ImageObject","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#personlogo","inLanguage":"en-US","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/android-chrome-512x512.png","contentUrl":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/android-chrome-512x512.png","width":512,"height":512},"logo":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#personlogo"},"sameAs":["https://twitter.com/RBiblebeliever","https://www.facebook.com/RBibleBelievers"]}]} ```
