for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.** 2 They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: *with* flattering lips *and* with a double heart do they speak.* 3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, *and* the tongue that speaketh proud things:* 4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips *are* our own: who *is* lord over us?* 5 For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set *him* in safety *from him that* puffeth at him.* 6 The words of the LORD *are* pure words: *as* silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.* 8 The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.* [Psalms 11](/study/psalms/11) [Psalms 13](/study/psalms/13) ## Commentary To verse 1 **Help:** or, Save, [Psalms 3:7](/kjv/psalms/3/7), [Psalms 6:4](/kjv/psalms/6/4), [Psalms 54:1](/kjv/psalms/54/1), [Matthew 8:25](/kjv/matthew/8/25), [Matthew 14:30](/kjv/matthew/14/30) **godly:** [Genesis 6:12](/kjv/genesis/6/12), [Isaiah 1:9](/kjv/isaiah/1/9), [Isaiah 1:21](/kjv/isaiah/1/21), [Isaiah 1:22](/kjv/isaiah/1/22), [Isaiah 57:1](/kjv/isaiah/57/1), [Isaiah 63:5](/kjv/isaiah/63/5), [Jeremiah 5:1](/kjv/jeremiah/5/1), [Micah 7:1](/kjv/micah/7/1), [Micah 7:2](/kjv/micah/7/2), [Matthew 24:12](/kjv/matthew/24/12) **faithful:** [Proverbs 20:6](/kjv/proverbs/20/6), [Isaiah 59:4](/kjv/isaiah/59/4), [Isaiah 59:13-15](/kjv/isaiah/59/13-15) **Reciprocal:** [2 Kings 13:14](/kjv/2-kings/13/14) - he died [1 Chronicles 12:17](/kjv/1-chronicles/12/17) - If ye be come [1 Chronicles 15:21](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/21) - Sheminith to excel [1 Chronicles 16:7](/kjv/1-chronicles/16/7) - into the hand [Job 30:25](/kjv/job/30/25) - was [Psalms 6:1](/kjv/psalms/6/1) - Sheminith [Psalms 60:4](/kjv/psalms/60/4) - because [Ecclesiastes 7:28](/kjv/ecclesiastes/7/28) - one [Isaiah 59:15](/kjv/isaiah/59/15) - truth [Amos 7:2](/kjv/amos/7/2) - for [Habakkuk 1:3](/kjv/habakkuk/1/3) - *General* [2 Peter 2:9](/kjv/2-peter/2/9) - the godly ```json {"@context":"https://schema.org","@graph":[{"@type":"WebSite","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#website","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com","name":"Real Bible Believers","description":"RBB","publisher":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#/schema/person/e966585dde703268e7f6ae890ea98509"},"potentialAction":[{"@type":"SearchAction","target":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/search?q={search_term_string}","query-input":"required name=search_term_string"}],"inLanguage":"en-US"},{"@type":"ImageObject","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/treasury-of-scripture-knowledge/psalms/12#primaryimage","inLanguage":"en-US","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/_app/immutable/assets/missing.C7wGMEZ6.jpg","contentUrl":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/_app/immutable/assets/missing.C7wGMEZ6.jpg","width":672,"height":448,"caption":"Real Bible Believers"},{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/treasury-of-scripture-knowledge/psalms/12#webpage","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/treasury-of-scripture-knowledge/psalms/12","name":"Psalms 12 - Study King James Bible with treasury of scripture knowledge","isPartOf":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#website"},"primaryImageOfPage":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/treasury-of-scripture-knowledge/psalms/12#primaryimage"},"author":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#/schema/person/e966585dde703268e7f6ae890ea98509"},"description":"Read Psalms 12 with treasury of scripture knowledge commentary. 1 Help, LORD;
