Selah. 5 God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises. 7 For God *is* the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.* 8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness. 9 The princes of the people are gathered together, *even* the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth *belong* unto God: he is greatly exalted.* [Psalms 46](/study/psalms/46) [Psalms 48](/study/psalms/48) ## Commentary To verse 1 **for:** or, of, [Psalms 46:1](/kjv/psalms/46/1), *title **clap:** [Psalms 98:4](/kjv/psalms/98/4), [2 Kings 11:12](/kjv/2-kings/11/12), [Isaiah 55:12](/kjv/isaiah/55/12) **shout:** [Psalms 47:5](/kjv/psalms/47/5), [Psalms 98:4](/kjv/psalms/98/4), [1 Samuel 10:24](/kjv/1-samuel/10/24), [2 Samuel 6:15](/kjv/2-samuel/6/15), [2 Chronicles 13:15](/kjv/2-chronicles/13/15), [Ezra 3:11-13](/kjv/ezra/3/11-13), [Jeremiah 31:7](/kjv/jeremiah/31/7), [Zephaniah 3:14](/kjv/zephaniah/3/14), [Zechariah 4:7](/kjv/zechariah/4/7), [Zechariah 9:9](/kjv/zechariah/9/9), [Luke 19:37-40](/kjv/luke/19/37-40), [Revelation 19:1](/kjv/revelation/19/1), [Revelation 19:2](/kjv/revelation/19/2) **Reciprocal:** [Exodus 32:17](/kjv/exodus/32/17) - they shouted [Numbers 26:11](/kjv/numbers/26/11) - *General* [1 Chronicles 15:28](/kjv/1-chronicles/15/28) - with shouting [Psalms 5:11](/kjv/psalms/5/11) - shout [Psalms 27:6](/kjv/psalms/27/6) - joy [Psalms 42:1](/kjv/psalms/42/1) - the sons [Psalms 62:8](/kjv/psalms/62/8) - Trust [Psalms 66:8](/kjv/psalms/66/8) - make [Psalms 98:8](/kjv/psalms/98/8) - Let the floods [Psalms 100:1](/kjv/psalms/100/1) - Make [Psalms 132:9](/kjv/psalms/132/9) - shout [Zechariah 2:10](/kjv/zechariah/2/10) - and rejoice [1 Thessalonians 4:16](/kjv/1-thessalonians/4/16) - with a ```json {"@context":"https://schema.org","@graph":[{"@type":"WebSite","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#website","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com","name":"Real Bible Believers","description":"RBB","publisher":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#/schema/person/e966585dde703268e7f6ae890ea98509"},"potentialAction":[{"@type":"SearchAction","target":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/search?q={search_term_string}","query-input":"required name=search_term_string"}],"inLanguage":"en-US"},{"@type":"ImageObject","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/treasury-of-scripture-knowledge/psalms/47#primaryimage","inLanguage":"en-US","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/_app/immutable/assets/missing.C7wGMEZ6.jpg","contentUrl":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/_app/immutable/assets/missing.C7wGMEZ6.jpg","width":672,"height":448,"caption":"Real Bible Believers"},{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/treasury-of-scripture-knowledge/psalms/47#webpage","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/treasury-of-scripture-knowledge/psalms/47","name":"Psalms 47 - Study King James Bible with treasury of scripture knowledge","isPartOf":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#website"},"primaryImageOfPage":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/treasury-of-scripture-knowledge/psalms/47#primaryimage"},"author":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#/schema/person/e966585dde703268e7f6ae890ea98509"},"description":"Read Psalms 47 with treasury of scripture knowledge commentary. 1 O clap your hands, all ye people;
